Elizabeth
I didn’t know how I got away from him, but I managed to run towards the house. I was holding tremblingly the skin of my neck he just bit as I went inside my chambers.
“Elizabeth, are you fine?” my mother asked me from the other room. “Why are you panting?”
“I-I’m okay, mother!” I said.
I desperately went to the mirror and looked at the wound the man had just bitten. It looked disgusting and messed up because of the scattering of blood. I cursed under my breath as I fumbled my clothes from my small closet, trying to find a cloth or something.
When I grabbed an unused dress, I pressed it to my wound. I was silently groaning in pain because my mother would be furious if she knew that I used my magic to tend a werewolf. She strictly told me to never use my healing powers because it is dangerous.
“Bloody hell,” I cursed again.
I went to the bathroom and washed down the blood. The water helped my blood to stop flowing. I then repeated my incantation song but made sure that it was almost a whisper so that my mother will not hear it.
I inhaled deeply when I was done and the excruciating pain I felt ago magically vanished. Slowly as possible, I removed my hand, expecting the wound not to be visible anymore.
“Oh, hell no,” I said as I faced the mirror outside the privy.
I was surprised when I could still see the bite mark on my left neck from the werewolf. I don’t even know why! Every time I use my power to heal a wound, there will be no mark!
What do I do now? It is unexplainable! How does this happen?
I closed my eyes and breathed in and out. I should calm down so I can find an answer.
Should I tell Mother?
No, it would infuriate her. Shit!
Ah! I would tell Nikita!
Ugh, but her mouth is so careless she would end up telling Mother!
But wait… there might be someone who could… help me!
The next day, while I was dressing up with a wool dress and a pair of boots, I made sure that the scarf I circled my neck shrouded the bitten mark. I glared at my reflection in the mirror.
I swear! If I see that sanctimonious werewolf again, I will not hesitate to kill him with my own hands!
But… how do I kill a werewolf when I don’t even know about them?
What I just inexplicably know is that a long time ago, there was a war between mortals and werewolves. Maybe the werewolves tried to dominate the whole world and then the mortals just saved the day as the novelist would always write in the books.
I didn’t care about the monsters and beasts outside the kingdom, because I have never gone outside, too! I am a domestic villager and a simple woman who only wants to live a normal, ordinary life. Oh, that sounds from the books, though, huh?
But anyway, I have to get to my senses because I still have an agenda to be solved immediately before I lose my mind over a stupid werewolf’s mark.
“Elizabeth?”
I was stopped from walking outside the house when I heard my mother from my back before I could even turn the doorknob. I shut my eyes tightly, realizing that it is so wrong timing that I could get caught by her.
“Ummm, yes, mother?” I asked nervously, still not turning my back to face her behind me.
“Where are you going?” she asked, her tone sounding so confused.
“J-Just going to the public park with Nikita,” I reasoned out.
“With a scarf on your neck?”
“It is cold.”
“But don’t you think it is too much?”
Argh. Can’t she just let me go now?
“Ummm,” I said, looking up to find a good excuse. “I… I am going on a date!”
I heard her gasp. “Really? You’re going on a date?” she excitedly said. “Then I am so happy for you-“
“Haha! Yeah, so can I go now?”
“But-“
I did not let my mother finish off her sentence because I had already gone out of the house and started walking to the road.
I am sorry, mother. I don’t want to hear your preaching if I told you what happened last night!
My eyes were circling as the scarf from my neck was flailing on my chest. The villagers were greeting me enthusiastically, and I reciprocated my politeness and grace. When my feet dragged me to the public market, the person I was trying to find emerged in my vision.
“Your Highness!” I called out.
He turned his back after he was conversing with his horseman. I could see his face lightening up as if he saw an amusing thing. Is my face a big deal? I don’t know. I keep hearing compliments from other people, but I do think that appearances don’t matter. It is from the goodness of one’s heart and intentions.
“My lady, Elizabeth,” Prince Vio said when he approached me and slightly bowed in front of me. “I am astonished to “
He was about to repeat the line he keeps saying every time we meet, but I already cut him off.
“I am also astonished to see you, Your Highness,” I said and bowed at him politely. “But I want to talk to you about something, umm, intriguing.”
“Oh, I would love to answer you. What do you want to know about?”
I smiled. “About werewolves," I said. "There are things that I am curious about them. Would you like to share some information about them?"
"Well, if that is what my lady wants, why would I refuse you?" the prince replied. "If you would consent, I would like to bring you to the palace and regale you there."
ElizabethPrince Vio brought me to the palace, and I was amazed by how it stretched to masses of hectares when we went in while riding a grandiose carriage. I was beside His Highness while he was touring me to the vastness of the palace close-up.I almost forgot about what I was gonna say and ask if he just did not bring it up when we are now in the garden pavilion of the palace.“Werewolves are the scariest beasts you are ever going to encounter,” he said as he sipped his tea. “That is why they are secluded in the Dark Forest when vampires became extinct centuries ago. But the packs of werewolves would always survive every war.”“You do know a lot about them, huh?” I said and scratched my cup of tea.The pavilion was a good view and a place to relish stress and anxiety. There were a lot of pots containing kinds of flowers that the Queen herself planted together with the gardeners. The pavilion itself was surrounded by flowers and intricate vines that looked very enchanted and majesti
ElizabethI could not sleep a wink when I was lying on the bed. My thoughts were raging inside my mind as the words of my mother rang in my ear.“When you get bitten by a werewolf, you become his mate,” she said a little while ago when we were still in the kitchen. “And when you become his mate, you can’t escape the prophecy you have with him!”I sat up on the bed and ruffled my hair, frustrated and panicking.“Mother, what should I do? I can’t be married to a werewolf!” I said. But she was already crying before she could answer me. It was as if she was hopeless and breaking down just because of what I said. And then suddenly, she pulled me and widened her eyes.“Elizabeth!” she said while shaking my shoulders with her hands. “His eyes… what was the color of his eyes?!”And then, I was stopped.“I-It was red,” I answered her. “Why? What does it mean?”“Gracious goodness, my dear!” she exclaimed, aghast, and then she shook her head indulgently. “You are bound to be with a werewolf who
DiegoI was catapulted at the nearby tree when Roy kicked me in the stomach.“Diego!” he exclaimed, approaching me with worriedness across his face.A smirk plastered on my lips when his hand went in front of my face. I made a handstand, clipped his arm between my legs, and flipped him over, making him knocked out to the ground. He groaned in pain as I stood up.“I told you many times to not let your sympathy get to you,” I coldly said and lifted his arm for him to stand up. “Even though I am your friend, during a fight, I am your enemy.”Roy nodded and licked his lower lip. He smiled, and I didn’t. We were both topless and sweaty because we have been practicing physical fight in the middle of the forest, not far away from our habitat. The Dark Forest, even from its adjective incepting the name of what it’s called, was barely lightened up by the rays of the sun. The sun rays were penetrating through the dried and colorless leaves of the enormous trees around. Dead leaves were scattere
Diego I threw the stone through the surface of the water. It bounced one, two, three times. It was not enough. I picked another one, used my reflexes to swing it down with my left arm, and threw it again through the surface of the water. I smirked when it bounced six times, I reckoned. I sighed and got tired of playing the rock game, so I squatted down on the huge rock in front of the pristine lake. It was getting dark. The sun is setting beautifully, the lake calmly exposing its beauty in front of my eyes, and nature makes sounds to calm me and relax. “I thought you went to your hut again. Didn’t find you in the habitat.” I heard Roy’s voice behind me, so I looked up at him. His hands were on his slacks, his unruly hair blown by the wind, and he went beside me while standing up. I smirked at him. “Sorry. You know that I am good at doing stealth,” I said proudly. “You are good, yes, but you are always a pup when you are talking with the Alpha,” he said truthfully and raised his e
DiegoWhen Alpha Kael, our father, exclaimed to start our fight, I circled the ground just like Droco was doing. I raised my fists, my eyes terrorizing him, and preparing an attack stance.I lurched forward with my speed to jab him with my fist, but he immediately dodged my hit. He went to my feet by grabbing my left foot and knocked me to the ground. Everyone cheered at what he did, but I did not let him win, though. When I was on the ground, almost lying down, I grabbed his nape and locked him with my both hands. I pulled him down, making his head hit the ground hard. The werewolves groaned while I was smirking and standing up.I heard Droco muttering curses as he glared at me from the ground. That’s what you get for being a self-entitled and conceited asshole. He stood up and did not waste time, now attacking me with a high kick that almost hit my jaw. My reflexes were fast, though.I slapped his foot with my strength, dodged another kick downward, and blocked his last high kick. I
Elizabeth I had a good time with the princes, and neither of them were being mean to me. They even brought me to the palace after they visited me to the house. We have been the closest since the days passed by. “The villagers are very respectable to the kingdom, Your Highness,” I said to Prince Ronald beside me. “They are all working hard to serve their families as well as the royal family.” I watched the oldest prince smiling while his hands are behind him. He nodded and the angular volume of his face stretched into a charming appearance that made me blush. He is the most handsome among the princes, I thought. “Yes. You are right. I even thought that I should improve the kingdom when I succeed my father king,” he shared and sighed, now his eyes on the village outside the palace. “But I am still scared if that day comes. What if it does not work out?” “What does not work out?” I curiously asked him. He then turned to me. “What if I do not become a better king?” he said. I smiled
Elizabeth The darkness surrounded me as I turned around. I could not see anything. But when I lifted my palms from my hips, I was… ominously… glowing? “Where am I?” I asked myself, but it was from my mind. I didn’t even open my mouth! I wandered around, trying to find some light, but I could not find anything. Suddenly, I got goosebumps when a soft wind passed through my skin behind me. Whatever gut made me turn around was scary and engendered anxiety in my mind. “Hello, dear.” I gaped at a lady behind me. She was wearing a black cloak, making her half-face only seen. Her voice was sweet yet sent chills through my skin, making me step back. “W-Who are you?” I asked tremblingly. The sides of her red lips rose, but the set of her teeth was still hidden. “I am no one,” she said, “but you are someone you will need to recognize.” Somehow, her voice was soothing me. Her presence and the darkness around us dreaded my system, but her voice and words were comforting rather than fearsom
ElizabethMy adrenaline rush almost killed my mind to think and I could almost have a heart attack anytime. I inhaled deeply as everything went fast. A while ago, I saw myself falling from the mouth of the well, the darkness was before my eyes from below, and assumed the water that my body would hit if my fall would continue.I just heard Nikita screaming my name and the kids crying out. Suddenly, I felt a strong grip on my wrist. The pain of its hold made me squirm and my heartbeat stopped for a minute.“Ah!” I exclaimed. When I opened my eyes to look at who held me, I saw the face of the man who was accompanying Nikita. My lips parted as I saw darkness in his eyes. It was an unusual blackness. It felt like the color of his eyes… was not real. Before I know it, he was pulling me up from falling. I also helped him by patting my feet on the rocks from the well. I could hear his breathing against my ear when he lifted my body and I hugged his nape to completely remove myself from the mo
"Wow, congratulations, Jill! I have always been competitive when it comes to academics without creating competitions against anyone. Ako
Maybe it was the fact that I was bothered what happened last night that I was spacing out when I went to the office the next day of work. “Secretary Castro? Are you okay?” an employee asked me when she approached me. “The paperworks you are holding are being blown away from your table.”“Huh?” I said and turned my head to the direction of my cubicle. My eyes widened when I saw that my papers are being blown away from my table that is caused by the huge air conditioner’s fan. It made me curse and ran towards it. “Shit!”The employee also lurched forward to help me get them. She kept raining me with questions if I am okay, or why I have not noticed my paperwork. I just kept nodding because I just want everything to be organized, and yet I a messing it all up. “What about your coffee, ma’am?” the female employee asked me again innocently.“Fuck…” I murmured and dropped all of the paperwork on my table. “Why is my day doing this to me?”Without wasting time, I approached the coffee mach
NARRATION“What do you mean the vampires are alive?!” Queen Jeany exclaimed and stood up from her throne chair. “That is impossible! They are long dead!”Her loud exclamation echoed inside the throne room where all the royalties of Kingdom Monjour are holding a royal conference to discuss some serious matters. The queen is interrogating a village’s hunter, when it informed the guards that he saw creatures that are lurking inside the Dark Forest. Her Majesty was hyperventilating with her navy blue gown, shining silver crown, and expensive jewelries that she had bought from different kingdoms, except her necklace that is owned by her mother queen. The scared hunter that is hugging his bow jumped because of the furious queen. “I-It is true, Your Majesty,” he stammered and gulped intensely. “When I was targeting a reinder from the lake, I was stopped when I saw a pale man in his black clothes. He was showing his sharp fangs and red eyes under a narrow tree. I could still remember

Just like I've said, Viramos is a small town. There was clearly no doubt that what transpired last night outside our boarding house scattered around our batch. "Talagang sinugod si Melanie kagabi?""Naglasing ba naman sa boarding House no'ng Oscar."Nag-igting ang panga ko nang marining ang dalawang classmates ko na nag-uusap sa aking likod. I pretended to be listening to the discussion of our instructor, but the topic behind me is ringing in my ears, distorting my focus on the class. "Absent pa nga siya ngayon, oh? Siguro nahiya.""As in nakita mo talaga kagabi?""Oo naman! Magkatabi lang kaya kami ng boarding house nila Melanie. Nagce-cellphone kasi ako no'n sa terasa, tapos nakarinig ako ng ingay. Sina Melanie na pala-""Excuse me. Pwede bang pakihina ng mga boses niyo? Medyo hindi ko kasi marinig si miss dahil sa inyo."I immediately gazed at Irise who seemingly is now irritated.
I could see through his eyes that he was being affected, especially when he slightly flinched the moment I slid my hand down to his necktie. Without further ado, I grabbed the paper he signed and stood up straightly. He was still motionless while I was flipping my hair, his gaze being serious at the moment and the playfulness has been eradicated after I played with him.“I am sorry to disturb your consciousness, Mr. Montenegro, and take that as a lesson to never mess with me,” I said firmly and turned my back on him, not regretting every word I said.Does he think that I forgot that he insulted me in their first and second dinner in their mansion? If he just knows me, he would know that I don’t easily forgive and I also do not know how to forget. Duh!I rolled my eyes while walking throughout the busy hallways that contained employees who greeted me. I rode an elevator to go to my boss’ office where I know that is having his work time in his office.“Good afternoon, sir,” I greeted wh
Obsession and love are two different things. And Elizabeth would not want to experience chasing a person who can’t even fight for her. But it is even worse for her to destroy herself by loving a person too much. Too much that she would do anything to own him but would hurt other people. Elizabeth hastily opened the door of the office where her cubicle is located. It is opposite the main office of the independent director and just one looking up at the face, she would confront the door of it. But as soon as she sat on her swivel chair, she did not bother looking at her boss’ door. Instead, she placed her both hands on the side of her head, shut her eyes tightly, and hyperventilated because of what happened. Cross would surely be angry about what she did. He might be even believing Hannah instead of his girlfriend, so it is consolidated with a conclusion that he would never go after her. Not to mention the confused expression of the chairman towards her. What about the t
ELIZABETHI could see how Diego flinched through the darkness. Even his black eyes were glowing, and it is still unexplainable how I could still see that. Before he could even step forward when he subtly reacted because of the slap Prince Ronald gave me, I glared at him and shook my head.I already said that he should trust me! Was the idea of him going here bad? He should have not been here!I groaned in pain when Prince Ronald caught my chin again and forcefully made me look at him. He was smirking devilishly and it disgusted me to think that I respected him a lot before when he is this fucked up.“I swear. I will make your life miserable forever,” he said. “I am looking forward for you to do that,” I whispered back.Because I might be doing that to you.He retreated while watching me being seized by the royal guards. The guards started to pull my arms for me to walk. I chose to obey because I do not want to meet with the bruises and cuts on my face again. Nevertheless, I have to b
