“Careful, don’t wake them.”

As Zaha and Ezekiel moved the children to the other side of the bed, Harriet wiped off the scribbles of makeup on her husband’s face and body. She smiled all the way to the last stain, transferring it to the soft white towel in her hand.

“You’re done?” Ezekiel asked after he put down one of the kids, the one they didn’t really know, with long black hair and a smaller body compared to the other two.

“Wait, let me see if there’s another stain,” Harriet patiently checked his body. “We don’t want him to wake up with poorly drawn makeup on his skin. That would be too cruel.”
