<TWO WEEKS AGO>
Red twilight rose over the western horizon as the sun slowly disappeared from the darkening sky.
The West Fort was going through a big rush. An army of wolves numbering a thousand arrived at the castle of the West Fort. When the troops arrived, the residents of a small nearby town were frightened and hid in their homes. Even a few were already preparing to leave there for fear of the chaos that might occur soon.
This was the beginning of the war.
Amid the bustling Almandine Duchy Pack members preparing their tents, a young woman walked up the stairs of the fort. Her steps did not waver in the slightest, and her body was firm. But on that tough figure, there was a glimpse of a sad look in her clear, with no ripples, pair of eyes.
Arriving at the top of the fort, the woman saw an old man standing tall. The man's head was covered with grey hair, and wrinkles settled on his face. He was the leader of the entire army of wolves that had arrived at this West Fort. The Alpha, Old Duke Almandine, slowly turned to the young woman.
The sound of the wind and the bustling sounds of the Fortress Castle could be heard in the background, but between the young lady who was walking closer and the silent Old Duke, there seemed to be only serenity.
When the woman arrived and bowed respectfully, the Old Duke simply nodded. The Old Duke and the woman were not in a hurry to start a conversation.
"How old are you, Marchioness?" The Old Duke opened the conversation with a strange question, but the old man sounded so gentle and calm.
Young Marchioness Harriet Goldlane furrowed her brows, but she simply answered.
"Two months ago, I turned 25, Your Grace," replied the young woman.
Old Duke Almandine nodded. His eyes stared straight at the west, where the sun and the boundary between sky and land met.
"Marchioness, let's make a deal," said the Old Duke, suddenly.
Harriet lifted her face with a frantic expression.
"You want to save your brother, right?" asked the old man.
Harriet widened her eyes and nodded.
"I swear to find your brother's mate and help your brother make a full recovery."
The Old Duke's words made Harriet's face slowly return to being filled with hope. Her lavender eyes gleamed, and tears began to well up in her eyes.
"But in exchange, Marchioness, I want you to devote your life to our Almandine family and Lycan Pack for as long as you live," The Old Duke spoke. His voice was no longer in a gentle and soothing tone. He spoke in a flat, firm tone, distressing Harriet.
The bad news kept coming like waves of the ocean eroding the rocks... all of it destroyed Harriet bit by bit in no time.
Harriet clasped her trembling hands together, as if in a pleading posture.
"Your Grace..." Harriet knelt. Tears rolled down her cheeks. "I beg of you to protect my brother and me. I beg you to save us. I will give you everything, and I am willing to do anything... Your Grace..."
Harriet was just an ordinary woman. When the woman looked up, she saw the Old Duke's wrinkled face in the afternoon sun. There was a sad smile on his face.
"Child, I'm sorry I have to force you to do all this," he said softly.
Harriet looked at him confusedly with a face full of tears. She noticed the change in the way the old man addressed her. He no longer addressed her by her noble title.
"But I am an Alpha. I am responsible to protect my family," the Old Duke continued and gently helped Harriet off the floor.
"And meeting you had given me new hope to save everything I've been fighting for," the man said, looking straight into Harriet's eyes, who looked up at him. He said sincerely, "Be the daughter-in-law of Almandine Duchy Pack."
Harriet's eyes widened once more. This time she gasped.
There was a reason why Old Duke Armandine had been the Pack's Alpha for 200 years. Not because the man was so strong and irreplaceable… but because the old man had no heir.
"Give birth to a new Alpha from my grandson. That way, we will be bound by blood, and I can help your brother overcome his rampage period and find his mate," said the Old Duke.
In that second, Harriet sold her soul to the Monster.
***
Harriet woke up feeling achy.
The breeze from the open window, the sun almost reaching the peak of the horizon, and the messy bed greeted Harriet. She glared at the man fast asleep beside her. However, a second later, her face turned red. Memories of the long night they had filled her brain.
At this moment, seeing the figure of the man, who was sleeping soundly, made Harriet unable to compare him to the monster from last night. One could say she had already sold her soul to this monster.
The woman's face became irritated again and she flicked her finger against the man's forehead as if to pretend to punish him. Seeing no reaction at all, Harriet gave up and rest her head on the man's chest.
She debated with herself whether she should wake up or go back to sleep, but then she felt something odd. Liam's chest rose and fell, indicating he was breathing.
However…
Harriet couldn't hear a heartbeat.
Realizing that, Harriet rose and gasped. She tried to listen more carefully and closed her eyes to concentrate, but she still couldn't hear it, even after waiting a long time.
Harriet slowly sat up. Her eyes widened at the sight of the handsome man who didn't move an inch. She couldn't understand.
Harriet sprinted down the tower steps without caring about her aching body or her cold bare feet. At the bottom of the stairs, she collided with a man. Secretary Daniel furrowed his brows at the sight of Harriet. She was running like a madwoman down the tower, with a frightened face and gasping for breath.
"M-Madam?! What is—"
"Sir Daniel—"
Harriet clutched Daniel's sleeve with a worried face.
"Young Lord… I can't hear Young Lord's heartbeat," Harriet didn't realize the tears had rolled down her cheeks.
Daniel was surprised to hear that.
"Shouldn't we seek help? We have to do something, right?" Harriet looked expectantly at Daniel, who furrowed his brows in concern.
"Madam, sorry for not telling you, and sorry to have to tell you this way..." Daniel looked sadly at Harriet. "Young Lord, he… the thing that made him dying today is because he lost his heart 70 years ago…"
Harriet's eyes stared at Daniel in confusion. Then her gaze turned to fear, sadness, and disbelief.
"How can one live without…"
Daniel slowly helped Harriet straighten up. The man took off his robe and draped it on Harriet, who was only wearing a nightgown.
"Young Lord is able to survive to this day because of how strong he is," Daniel replied. The man then smiled sadly.
Daniel had thought this woman had run away from her husband after a rough night of sex. After all, she was a woman who married by agreement, not because of her feelings.
But apparently, the woman was frightened and worried about the fact that she could not hear her husband's heartbeat.
Last night, when Harriet saw the man awake, moving and talking, she could believe he was alive. His body was warm and he breathed, and every living person had a heartbeat, so Harriet was completely oblivious even though their bodies had been close all night.
However, seeing the man lying still and not responding to anything Harriet did to him made Harriet so scared. Yes, it was true that the man was still breathing, but…
Harriet slowly composed herself. Daniel saw Harriet's pale face and decided to walk her back to her room first. But Harriet shook her head.
"Thanks, but I'll go back myself," Harriet straightened herself fully, and looked him straight in the eye. She told him, "Go back to work, Secretary Daniel."
Daniel was surprised to see the woman had recovered from her shock in just a matter of minutes. He could still see how pale her face was, but her tough demeanor almost covered everything up.
The man bowed politely and watched as Harriet walked with a slight limp while holding on to the walls of the hallway, but with a straight back.
Daniel's brows furrowed, and his face turned red. He shook his head, erasing the memory of Harriet, who had red marks all over her neck and shoulders.
Young Lord was probably too brutal last night.
Harriet had finished cleaning herself and getting dressed as she thought about visiting her brother today. She walked with two maids along with Almandine Castle to where her brother was being cared for.As she entered a room with double doors, she immediately saw her brother being guarded by two male servants who seemed to be Lycans. The two male servants stood up and bowed their bodies.Harriet nodded her head politely and sat down on the side of the bed."My brother is very calm after taking his medicine, even on a full moon," Harriet said quietly. One of the two servants explained that the Lycan physician had prescribed several suppressants for Heath's rampage periods. Harriet nodded quietly at this. Her decision to bring Heath here to be treated by the experts was right.Marchioness Harriet Goldlane had a younger brother who had military leadership talents named Heath Goldlane. However, one day, Heath Goldlane returned home from an expedition he led, riding on his black horse, unc
It had been a week since Harriet and Liam's first full moon night. The woman's days passed in a relaxing routine. There was no letter from the Old Duke yet, but Harriet had already received some information from her acquaintances. The war was still going on fiercely. So many aids were also sent by the military powerhouses on this Imperial Continent, to help the Old Duke. Harriet and everyone at Almandine Castle could breathe a sigh of relief at this information. They did believe the Old Duke and their pack would win the battle. In the afternoon, just as Harriet was about to go up to the tower with her servants to wipe Liam's body, Daniel appeared. He told Harriet that a letter had come from the imperial capital for her. Daniel's words instantly made Harriet furrow her brows deeply. "I'll read it later. Thanks, Daniel," said Harriet, walking away, leaving a confused Daniel. "B-but, Madam, isn't this an important matter? His Majesty the Emperor sent it for you…" Daniel caught up wi
Liam stared in awe all around the room. Everything was so bright and shimmering, so different from the darkness of the night under the full moon that he was used to seeing when he woke up once a month.Because he was getting used to it, he thought he'd wake up on the next full moon, but things were so different when he opened his eyes. He was dazzled. It was a bit difficult for him to adapt to everything."Milord…?"Beside Liam sat a woman wearing only a simple nightgown on the bed. Liam knew her as his wife, Harriet."Am I dreaming, Madam?" the man asked, narrowing his golden eyes in disbelief."I-I wanted to ask the same thing…" said Harriet quietly.Liam got out of bed and walked towards the east window slowly. The sun had climbed high in the sky. From the top of the tower, he could see the view of the Northern Land under the bright sky. When was the last time he witnessed this sight?Harriet got off the bed an
A few days after the incident in which Liam woke up, Harriet woke up with cramps in her stomach. Sensing this as a bad omen, Harriet quickly got up and saw a red stain on her bedsheet. She felt a stabbing feeling in her chest.Amelia, her maidservant, walked over to her in the bathroom as she cleaned herself up and massaged her shoulders gently."Madam, there is no need to be discouraged. This is only the first month," she said.Harriet nodded while flashing a gentle smile at the beautiful middle-aged woman. It was she who taught Harriet everything about Lycan mating process. It was she who helped her prepare for her first night and suggested a suitable scent to wear that night."We've been very lucky Young Lord didn't refuse to interact with you," the woman said. She quickly continued, "I didn't mean to upset you by saying that.".Amelia helped Harriet dry off her body after the bath. And then she helped her put on her underwear which was n
"So every day my madam bathes me?"The man was so close, awake, and now stood behind Harriet. The relief shrouded in another feeling that welled up in Harriet's chest drowned her. Harriet blushed but felt a little irritated. Why was the first thing the man did as soon as he woke up was tease her?"Milord!" Harriet wanted to protest."Yes, Madam?"The deep voice and the soft breathing that Harriet felt behind her ear made Harriet palpitate even more."I-I-I am your wife! Why are you teasing me when I try to serve you as a wife or because I sleep in the same bed with you–""Pfft…"Harriet was getting annoyed at the man who was holding back his laughter. Her heart ached a little when she remembered that she wasn't this man's destined mate, which certainly explained the reason why this man might not like Harriet around him.Amidst his laughter, Liam innocently asked, "Couldn't Madam take my feelings into account? I'm still a man with pride. When I found out that Madam was the one who bath
Harriet's pale lavender hair was a very rare color in the North. When the maids braided Harriet's hair in a Northern women's hairstyle, Harriet was often complimented on how beautiful her hair color was. Harriet just chuckled at that. She actually felt that the physique of the Northerners was much more beautiful than those of women in the capital. Northerners had soft, fair skin with pink undertones, and they usually had dark-colored hair. Meanwhile, Harriet's skin had pale undertones, almost transparent, and her entire body couldn't stand the bright sunlight from the sky reflecting off the white snow. “Do you have Siren's blood running in your body? Sirens' hair is usually dark blue and purplish," said one of the maids. Harriet smiled at the question. "I'm not sure either," said Harriet quietly. “Or perhaps you are related by blood with members of the Mercury Kingdom, Madam. They are famous for their silver or bluish hair," said another maid. Harriet chuckled again. She really
"Madam, the two times I woke up, it always had something to do with you, you're aware too, right?" Harriet ate her food quietly on the sofa, trying to ignore Liam's obvious words to tease her. “Come on, we both know I woke up first that morning after Madam slept with me. Then, I woke up a second time when Madam was about to bathe me. Isn't it obvious that the key is in your hands, Madam?" Liam asked her. What Liam said was one hundred percent true, but Harriet felt the way Liam said it made everything sound weird. "Maybe Madam should spend more time with me so I can wake up more often?" Liam asked her with a mischievous glint in his eyes. Harriet had always felt that her arrival would affect this man's life. And when there was a change in his routine of waking up once a month, Harriet naturally felt that it had something to do with her. “Milord, did you force yourself to wake up because you feel guilty if I feel lonely without your support as my husband?” asked Harriet back. Li
Harriet's fingertips trembled as she tried to lift her skirt in front of Liam. The higher she lifted her skirt, the more Harriet could see the activity inside Liam's pants. Maybe Liam didn't force himself to touch Harriet? Maybe Liam wasn't feeling uncomfortable? So what had the man been holding all this time? Harriet saw Liam cover his mouth with one hand. His eyes stared straight at Harriet's almost exposed thighs and crotch. As Harriet stopped lifting her skirt, Liam's other hand slowly gripped his own pants, as if trying not to lift her skirt himself. He really seemed to be holding himself back. Holding himself back? In that second, Harriet realized that Liam was… truly holding himself back. A faint smile formed on Harriet's flushed face. “Why stop? Don't you want to prove it?" Liam asked. Harriet shook her head. “What will Milord do after seeing it?” asked Harriet back. "Once I see it, I can prove to you how much I miss you," Liam said. Harriet shook her head again. "
It was about a week later at night... that Harriet was finally tired of waiting.Liam had been gone for a week now, and no matter what she did, he wouldn’t come home. Could it be that... it was because of Mr. Saturday? She couldn’t reach out to his mind. She couldn’t even hear his voice. This was the first time Liam was gone by his own choice without saying anything to her.At first, she was okay with it. It was okay if he needed some space. It would be okay if he said at least something to her. Just a little mental note...But he didn’t.He went cold, just like that.So it was time for her to be creative. He refused to heed her call, closing all kinds of communication that existed within their mind... then the only resort was to call him through his body.“Mmmh...”She slipped her fingers inside herself. She let out a sigh as she tickled her inside, her eyes closing in ecstasy. The so
“You have to squeeze me hard, or I won’t come.”She nodded in understanding, holding his throbbing cock against her palm. He shivered when she wrapped her fingers around it, squeezing it firmly, making sure he was fully aroused.“Ohhhh... squeeze harder. Give me just a little bit more strength, my love.”She squeezed him even tighter, and he cried out loudly, his voice echoing through the room. Even though he scared her, she kept pushing further, trying to breathe in unison with him.His waist moved against her hand, thrusting into her grip. His muscles tensed, and he groaned loudly. Her hand felt sore, but his dick looked desperately more stiff than usual.“AHHHH!”In an instant, his legs buckled, and he fell onto her, throwing her off balance. She tumbled to the ground, landing heavily on the floor. When she glanced up, the beast had been released from its chain. He grinned at her.&l
“In my memory, that side of the world was tainted by the use of Sorcery. That’s why we have to purify it with holy fire,” Mr. Thursday said as he pointed to the east. When they were burning the world, it was in a literal sense. They were burning the world, turning the effect of Sorcery on the earth to ashes. They spared nothing, no one, no witnesses. They were determined to let the world start anew.“And at the far east, where you can see it from here, is where the holy fire was never exhausted because too much curse of Sorcery needed to be burned,” the man said.“That much destruction was possible?” Harriet asked, and the man nodded.“In a way, your timeline was the best-case scenario. Ezra’s sacrifice had not only saved us but also our future generations,” the man said.“You sacrificed yourself too,” Harriet reminded.“Not me, but your husband...”
Her body was battered blue, but he didn’t know why it turned him on even more. No, he wasn’t a sadist, thus why he wanted to fondle her gentler than ever.He licked her clitoris, soft. He played it with his lips...slowly, gently. He kissed the tip of her pink bud. His fingers moved inside her, massaging her g-spot softly. She moaned as she felt him go deeper into her slit. His thick fingers created a lewd wet sound, making her so horny that it made her want to grab his hair and pull hard. She didn’t, though, because she liked this slow game. She let him do what he wanted with her body. The man parted her pussy, slowly pulling out his fingers and inserting them again in their place. Her vagina felt like heaven to him. It was warm, tender, and so wet. He could feel how excited she was by the way her walls tightened around his thick digits. He wanted to add another finger, but not yet. Make it even slower... more intense. She would love tha
“Are you awake?”Harriet’s eyes slowly opened. She smelled a delicious aroma. When she looked around her room, she saw a lot of delicious-looking dishes. And Liam sat on the other side of the room, staring at her with his arms crossed in front of his chest.“Come here and eat,” he said, inviting her.The morning sun lazily peeked through the window, casting a warm glow over the room. A soft breeze blew through, rustling the curtains and sending the scent of blooming flowers wafting inside. The table was set with an array of delicious dishes, their mouth-watering aroma wafting through the air. They sat beside each other, their fingers intertwined on the table. Their eyes were fixed on the spread before them, but... there was a subtle sadness in Mr. Wednesday’s eyes.It was a quiet melancholy that settled around him like a cloak, casting a shadow over the brightness of the morning. The woman noticed i
“Harriet... I love you...”THRUST! THRUT! THRUST!“I want to marry you... making you happy... but instead I... I can’t save you...”“I’m sorry...”Harriet gasped and moaned as she heard his whisper in her ears. She didn’t like this at all. “Mr... Monday... how dare you... say all this... when we’re in the middle of... mmmh...! Oh... kiss me, Liam...!”The man devoured her lips as her body spasmed, her limbs clutched into his body desperately. The night had deepened. It was almost midnight, and they hadn’t finished their activity. It was a good decision to let the servants empty the wing.Since their tower hadn’t been rebuilt yet, they had to use a normal bedroom, and the place was a bit close to the working servants...“Don’t you dare pull out again. Put your seed inside me, Liam,” Harriet whispered.“Is this how y
Harriet passed out the moment her head hit the pillow. These days had been too hectic for her; she didn’t even have time to rest properly. When the sunlight hit her eyes that morning, she felt something blocking them to let her rest more. And then, she smelled it. Only one man in this world could give a scent of the sun.He was like the beginning of summer right after the spring ended. Not even the night could hide this kind of scent... even though Harriet instantly felt something different. It was too distant. Her eyelids trembled open. She was expecting to see him lying facing her, but she was met with his back instead. He was awake. He was even awake since midnight. When he opened his eyes, he was there, not knowing what had happened or what to do. But when the sunlight hit her frail-looking body, he was afraid it would disturb her sleep, so he covered her from the sun. That was when he felt her small fingers grazing his back
[Hello, my name is Charmy.]Penelope’s jaw was still hanging open.[I’m 5.]Penelope stared at Heinrich in disbelief.“So, this is Charmaine. He’s... he’s the stone I made five... almost six years ago to become an Immortal Archmage,” Heinrich said.Penelope still couldn’t comprehend anything.“Okay, mine and the Duchess’ working theory is that when we create the Philosopher’s Stone, the mythical balance is achieved, and a new soul is created from it...”“No, Your Highness, what I was surprised about is... why did he call me his... Mommy?” Penelope seriously asked.“Well, this...” Heinrich tried to think of a way to explain it.[Mommy, you mean. I was cheering for you allllll the time! I’m screeeeaming for Daddy to just see you and be with you!]“He chose you as his master. That night at the North, he... essentiall
“It seemed that we’ve all concluded all we know about the stone. With the help of the communication device I created, we will be able to discuss with your stone to create the ideal society we’ve talked about,” Harriet said as she concluded their talk. She only conveyed her discovery about the stone but also theorized about what had happened to each stone.“Now that you’ve become a Lycan, Aslan, you have double the responsibility to uphold. Don’t disappoint us,” Harriet said.Aslan stood and kneeled, bowing his head low. “I won’t disappoint you, God and Goddess.”After Aslan left, Harriet turned back to Heinrich. He was clearly deep in thought.“Do you have something you want to ask your stone again?” Harriet asked him.Heinrich sighed and started to loosen his tout posture. “Actually, may I borrow the device for a day?”Harriet held her smile and
