Jason's POV:

As Henry's confession hung in the air, a heavy silence descended upon the palace. I stood there, frozen in disbelief, my heart pounding with a mix of guilt and regret. The weight of my actions, of rejecting Veronica as my mate, now bore down upon me like an unbearable burden.

I watched as Veronica, her face etched with pain, abruptly rose from the couch and fled from the living room. Her departure left us all speechless, the echoes of her footsteps fading into the distance. I could sense the collective shock and remorse that reverberated through the room.

The king, his face lined with sorrow, finally broke the silence. "It seems Veronica needs time to process all that has transpired. I believe it is best if we all return to our homes and give her the space she requires. Let her find solace and clarity in her own time."

Nods of agreement and murmurs of understanding filled the room as the guests began to disperse, each carrying the pain of the revelations that had unfolded
