The wolf came at me fast with its claws and flags stretched long and wide to crunch me up.

There was fear, but I didn't let it take hold of me. My senses were all heightened and I ignited my spell out aiming to burn the wolf out of my sight, erase it from humanity because that was what it deserves right now.

I flung some fireballs at it, but it was just too fast to deflect the attack. Apart from being skinny, this wolf had immense speed that I hadn't seen for some time, not after Dorian.

Even as I engaged in this, I made sure to have my eyes recycled back to where the kids were to check if they were perfectly fine. I could also detect the wolf's motive. It was aiming to grab the children since it couldn't get to me.
