Lucien's POV

I walked through the forest, my senses were heightened as I looked for signs of any trail that Avery might have left behind.

I had begun to track her down since I left my pack. I had no idea where she was but that didn't mean I was lost. I knew Devon was going to send his people to find her as soon as possible.

With a few troubles, I managed to track down Devon's men. I didn't bother taking them down, my pack was going to do that. My top priority is to catch up to Avery.

I stayed around them for a few hours, listening to any information they had about her whereabouts and the rest was pretty easy.

After I found out about her general direction, I headed towards it and in a few hours I had caught a whiff of her scent. It had been particularly easy because she was my mate.

When I finally laid my eyes on her, I felt my chest tighten. She looked so frail and her figure was haggard, her simple gown was torn and I could see bruises on her. She must have been through a lot. I sigh
