Chapter 6

Author: TS
Talia POV

One afternoon, I was reading a parenting book when a sharp pain suddenly spread throughout my body.

I gasped for air, tightly gripping the thin fabric of my jumpsuit. This wasn’t the usual discomfort —

I instinctively knew. It was time.

"Guard!" I shouted.

The metal door opened, and a guard rushed in, clumsily fumbling with the intercom.

"We need medical assistance — now!"

Another guard brought over a wheelchair, and they helped me sit in it. My body was squirming every few seconds with stronger and more frequent contractions.

I was quickly rushed to the hospital, where the doctor did various checks and decided to perform a C-section.

It was the best option to deliver a triplet that too of a half werewolf.

Sweat covered my face, and I felt like I was going to die. I never imagined childbirth could be so painful.

I was wheeled into the operating room and lay on the delivery table.

"Doctor, you must save my child." I said, extremely worried.

"Don’t worry. Your condition is stable now. You and the baby will be fine."

"My condition is stable?" I paused in confusion.

Why is this doctor saying something different from the one who had examined me earlier? Which one is right?

"Yes, it’s stable. You can relax." The doctor assured me.

I let out a long sigh of relief when an anesthesiologist entered the room. I looked up to find none but Abby.

"Abby, what are you doing here?

Did Damon send you? Does he know the child I’m carrying is his?"

Abby smirked. "You’re still delusional? How amusing! You sold yourself at an auction. Do you really think Damon will acknowledge your child?"

Her cruel words made my heart sink. I thought the guards were treating me with special care, possibly because Damon was helping arrange things. But now, I wasn’t so sure.

A more terrifying thought suddenly crossed my mind:

"Was he just waiting for this moment, letting me believe I could have the child, and only when I’m about to give birth, he can kill me and my babies?”

I clutched my belly, enduring the pain.

"Just give birth to your child,” Abby said, giving me a smug smile. ," She then turned to the doctor. "Start the procedure, local anesthesia."

"Local anesthesia? Why local anesthesia? Isn’t a C-section done with general anesthesia?" I asked.

Before anyone could respond, Abby’s phone ring diverted the topic.

"Alpha Damon." She respectfully answered the call with a smile, her voice honeyed. I had to admit, her smile was beautiful.

Afraid I might overhear them, she turned and walked out of the operating room.

Not long after, Abby returned to the operating table. The anesthesiologist had already administered the anesthesia. Since it was local anesthesia, my brain was still awake.

I glanced over Abby’s shoulder. Damon’s wasn’t there.

I knew he didn’t care about my life, yet for some reason, I felt a sense of loss. From the moment my children were born, they would never see their father.

A sharp pain struck my chest, and I felt the babies inside me thrashing violently.

Abby ignored me and turned to the lead surgeon instead. "Don’t worry about the depth of the incision, cut open immediately, and get the babies out within ten minutes." She said, her voice firm and clear.

"Understood." The doctor obliged.

I felt the scalpel scratching really down. My face went pale, and my heart sank.

"What… what are you planning to do with me? "

Local anesthesia, direct incision, and extracting the babies within ten minutes — Abby wanted me to die.

And what she said the next panicked me completely.

"Damon wants the babies, and he wants the healthiest ones. As for you, you don’t need to leave this operating table." She said sternly, and I tried to squirm, trying to stop them, but my numbed body didn’t support my will.

Why? Why Damon wants the babies?

Why does he still want them if he doesn’t acknowledge them as his children? Is it because of the promise he made to me?

My head was ringing. I wanted to say something, but the words didn’t roll out. I could only sense my babies being taken out one by one and then something rapidly leaving my body.

"Not good, not good! The patient is hemorrhaging!" The doctor cried in panic.

The lead surgeon had cut a major blood vessel.

Did the child come out?"“ Both boya are healthy,” She stammered, her gaze lowered."Take me to see them."She led me to the nursery where I saw two little ones lying side by side in their cribs. What struck me as odd was that they had green eyes and black hair like mine.Talia’s eyes were blue, and her hair was blonde. Can it be possible that she hadn’t lied to me, and the children are really mine?Impossible. The DNA report was handed to me by Abby herself, and her work had never been wrong. Besides, Carson’s eyes were green too. I shouted, "How dare you make that decision?!"The doctor took a step back, hiding behind Abby. "She had no family, and she was a prisoner. We thought... no one would come to claim her body. So, according to protocol, after her surgery this morning, her body was processed.""Protocol?" I gritted my teeth. "She was mine! How could you make this decision without consulting me? Damon POVI walked downstairs and saw Abby standing outside the door. Two workers were helping her with luggage."What are you doing here?" I said, my voice irked. "Moving in," she directed the movers, "This painting needs to be handled more gently."I saw the workers unloading items from the small truck, and Abby seemed to be moving her entire home here.My gaze turned cold. "This house was bought after I marked Talia. I won’t allow any other woman to live here."But Abby didn’t back down. She looked me straight in the eye. "This is your father Edward's idea. He sent me here. You attacked one of the Wolf Council members at the company, and Edward is furious. You’re like an uncontrollable bomb, and the children can’t be left without supervision.""So, he sent you here to monitor me, right?"Abby's expression softened slightly as she sighed. Damon POVAbby stood by the window, tears sliding down her cheeks."Why, Damon? What makes me any less than her? She's human; she's already different from us."Her words pierced my ears like needles. I was momentarily speechless, standing there in silence, just staring at her.Abby bit her lip, her voice trailing off. "I've liked you since I was little, admired you. You're my Alpha, my dream. But you only ever look at her..."This was the first time I had seen Abby cry. The usually calm and confident woman appeared so fragile at that moment. It left me at a loss, and I couldn't help but soften my tone: "Abby, I’m sorry. I never intended to hurt your feelings, but some things can’t be changed by effort alone."I inched closer to her and gently patted her shoulder, trying to comfort her. "You’ll find your mate. He will love you, cherish you, and give you everything you want."She suddenly lifted her head, her gaze burning as she looked at me. Tears still clung to the corners of her eyes,

Edward was pacing the room, his expression as stern as ever.“A week from now, the Nightstar Pack will hold the Bonding Mate Festival,” he began directly. “As you know, this festival is held once every three years, but this time it will be grander than ever. Ten packs will gather to celebrate, and all the influential wolves will attend. The festivities will last for three consecutive days.”I nodded, already understanding the importance of the event. But just as I was about to leave, Edward called me back.“Damon,” he said, his tone heavier, “I’ve come to terms with your decision to raise those two children. But let’s be realistic—they’re only half-wolves. They will never be suitable heirs for the Nightstar Pack.”His words hit me like a blow to the chest.“This festival is an opportunity,” he contin

Damon POVThe evening gala of the Bonding Mate Festival returned to normal, but the incident had become a hot topic of conversation.I ignored the chatter and kept my promise, driving Talia to see Noahva and Elias. Carson insisted on coming along, too. Although I didn’t initially want him in the car, Talia seemed to rely on him deeply and insisted that Carson accompany her. Their trust and intimacy made me uncomfortable.“Talia, I truly didn’t know Abby had done so much to hurt you. Don’t worry—I’ll make sure you get justice!” I assured her while driving.“Hmph!” Carson sneered. “No matter what you do now, it won’t erase the pain and suffering Talia has endured.”“I know. I’m sorry, Talia…” For the first time, I felt that Carson’s scolding was justified. I couldn’t refute it, and I even wished Talia would berate me, too, but she remained silent.“Talia, who is Ava’s father?” I couldn’t help but wonder if it was Carson.“This has nothing to do with you!” Talia seemed unwilling to say.A

You’re really something—able to enchant all these men into willingly helping you!” Abby sneered.“Of course, we all like a kind and beautiful woman like Talia. That trace of panic confirmed what I had suspected: she had used my phone to send messages to Talia. And if what Talia said was true, she even dared to…Oh, god, no! I mind-linked my wolf.
