Djurek's POV

“This is your last warning, Eloria. Unhand my men and get out of the way. I have shown you enough kindness, don't make me do what the two of us would regret.”

“Oh regret!” She let out a mocking chuckle as she suddenly plunged her sword into one of my men's back.

An involuntary gasped escape from my mouth as the man's lifeless body dropped to the ground with blood spurting out of his mouth.

“Will you regret that now, the fake king of the lycan Kingdom?”

Eloria's eyes were full of deathly complacent and menace. She placed the bloody sword on the floor beside her as she started advancing towards me.

The glassiness in her eyes and the growing tension and the atmosphere brings back ugly memories. I should have stole that, I should have ripped her head off and neck when I had the chance to.

But I thought she would get a change of heart, repent of her misdeads and become a devout worshiper of the goddess. But rather, she chose to continue a dark and evil magic in servitude

Djurek's POV “Make sure you find Eloria, and bring her to me. Whether dead or alive”“I doubt she's alive, your grace,” Eric answered, as he stopped to open the carriage for me. “The wounds she sustained to the face were fatal, I doubt she hasn't lost an eye.” “Hmmm. I did feel her skin ripping under the sword, but I don't think she will die. There are things I need to extract from her, crimes she needs to confess to.” I climbed into the carriage and shifted to the far end of the seat, close to the window. After Eric had locked the door we continueed the journey. “The Darnish are very surprised that you caught wind of their plans earlier than the expected.” He commented, pulling a map out of his pockets and spreading it on his laps. “We have to find a leader for their pack as soon as possible. Djurek's POVThe rain had finally stopped by the time we reached the edge of the Shadow Hunters' hideout, but the wet, heavy air clung to me as if warning me to turn back. I was close to Aurelia, yet something felt off, like a presence lurking in the shadows. My men and I had barely managed to clear out Eloria’s forces in the last battle, and now I was throwing them right into the clutches of her allies, the Shadow Hunters, to retrieve the one person I had vowed to protect. The scent of damp stone filled the air as we approached the ruins, my mind racing. Eloria’s defeat had felt incomplete somehow, as if a trap lay waiting here. When I finally spotted Aurelia in a dim corner of the prison, my heart lurched. She was tied beside Aaron, bruised but unharmed, her eyes meeting mine with a mixture of relief and something else—determination.I knelt to untie her, and she leaned forward, her voice low. “Djurek, you shouldn’t have come here.”“What are you talking about? You’re coming with m

Aurelia's POV As much as I was furious with Djurek, I couldn't let the fight between him and Aaron escalate into a full-blown brawl. They’d been friends for as long as Djurek could remember, even before he could tell his left hand from his right. The three of them had grown up together—Djurek, Aaron, and Dante. They were like brothers, and it pained me to see them turn on each other this way."We should go home," I urged, gently nudging Aaron back. "What we’re doing here only makes Eloria happy. This is her goal—to see us divided.""Well, I don’t think Djurek cares about that!" Aaron spat, his tone filled with resentment as he struggled against my grip. He tried to break free, his gaze fixed on Djurek with a smoldering intensity. "Djurek’s always been this way. Hot-headed, stubborn—""And what else?" Djurek fired back, his own anger flaring. He took a step toward Aaron, ignoring my attempts to hold him back. "Go on, say it. You left the castle with my woman, and the two of you went o

Dante’s POVMy instincts continued to warn me, whispering that I had made a grave mistake in abducting the Lunar Queen and destroying her entire coven. Each day, I paced into the dark, musty library where I had imprisoned her, hoping she’d reveal the truth. But Luna Gladys remained silent. Starved, weakened, and disheveled as she was, nothing would break her resolve, no matter how many times I came here or what I demanded.“This woman commands thousands of followers,” Griselda said beside me as we approached the room where Luna Gladys was kept. Her voice held a tone of admiration laced with irritation. “And there is one peculiar thing about women.”“What is that?” I asked, barely disguising the impatience biting at my words.Griselda gave me one of her cryptic side glances before shrugging slightly as if to say I should already know the answer. "Women are naturally stubborn beings, Dante. Luna Gladys was able to command and subjugate countless others beneath her control. What made you

Dante's POV “Lunar Aurelia went to the coven of the thousand women and has recovered the secret you failed to get.” Eloria's words bounced off the walls of the library and slapped me across the face. I had not expected that things would turn out this way, not when I had the place destroyed and bombed. How did she recover the secret, who attended to her, what exactly was I missing out on?“I found freshly dug graves in the compound. She didn't go alone and whoever she went there with suggested that they buried some people. And if my calculations are correct, the people they buried were the ones who were still alive to give them the answers you went to seek.”She stopped and gested to Luna Gladys who had begun to choke. “She knows very little, the person you might have to kidnap in the end is Lunar Aurelia herself. Your case seems to be getting more complicated as the time passes by.” I narrowed my gaze, struggling to digest Eloria's words. Lunar Aurelia had actually retrieved the se

Aurelia's POV I woke up in bed, naked and sticky from sweat with the heat from the entangled bed sheets coursing through me. Slowly, my eyeballs floated open as the rays of the morning sun penetrated the window to land on my face, giving a warm feeling in contrast to the cold of the early morning. I opened my mouth and let out a long yawn, but the sheet fell off my body, revealing my bare chest. I let out a gasp as I hurriedly covered my breasts with my hands but then it was not what I had expected it to be or had thought it would be. I looked to my side awkwardly open to meet Djurek's naked body sprawled out beside mine, but the bed wasn't touched. The sheets were in proper place, except for a few creases and ruffled ends. Djurek didn't sleep in this room last night. He didn't touch me. We just had an intimate moment where he kissed my lips and ran his hands over my body, but he didn't do more than that. For some reason, this made me feel somewhat embarrassed and stupid. I

Aurelia's POV “You haven't answered my question yet Aurelia. Why exactly are you doing this?” I started scooping the ornaments in the chest into my hand; my heart started tightening at the thought of the loss of the earrings. I was happy that bastard, Dante did not remove it from my ears when I was still with him. But I had made a greater mistake, neglecting it all this while and believing Djurek’s words that they were in this box. For goodness sake, the earrings were too small to be located in this river of ornaments. What had I been thinking? “What you are doing right now is treason and I might as well have you hanged for it.” Those words slapped me out of my trance, but before I could turn to look at the face of the utterer, Djurek suddenly grabbed me by the shoulders and dragged me to my feet, turning me to face him squarely. “What right do you think you can leave without my permission?” He growled, the minty scent of his breath washing over my face and the tingling of m

LAND OF THE ANDALS Justin's POV As I stared deeper at the piece of paper, the words written on it seemed to grow feint, causing me to furrow my brow, an attempt to suppress the confusion which clouded my mind. I didn't know anyone. But this message seemed to have been written by someone who knew the royal family well enough. The tone was personal, suggesting that the person might know me well. Heaving a deep sigh, I put the paper on the table and rose to my feet, the chair grazing the tiled floor. My gaze fell on Eliza immediately, the sound of her breathing becoming the only thing I could hear in the room. Her stomach which was now protruded, fell and down with life. She had had to go through an awful lot these twelve months. Sometimes I was forced to wonder if she would have been better off without me in her life. Perhaps she would have been well off, well protected and even happier. I took a few steps closer to the bed and dropped a kiss on her forehead, savouring the el

Aurelia's POV Nothing could have been more stupid than arguing with Alison at that moment, so I spun on my heels and headed straight to Djurek's bedroom. Melissa followed behind me, every breath she drew radiating fear and discomfort. The hallways had grown quieter now, bearing a sharp semblance to a graveyard when, in reality, ugly secrets breathed into the confines of these walls. I was not particularly excited or confident enough to want to meet with Djurek after what had occurred between the two of us earlier in the day but the items in the chest meant life to me. It was true that I no longer had the right to possess the jewellery even though I needed them, but I still have to find the chest because I had kept the messages I got from Luna Gladys in it. “Stay out of trouble, I mouthed to Melissa as I steeled myself and faced the door. Melissa merely nodded like an obedient cat and I flashed a small, shaky smile at her. I rapped gently on the door, reminding myself faintly

Aurelia's POV “I am sorry Melissa, but you are going to have to get off the bed. “ I walked towards the bed, grabbed her hand and tried pulling off the bed softly. I could sense that the sound of the name did a number on her emotions as I saw a flicker of fear flash across her face. I could see the horrible night I spent in the library replaying on Melissa's face but then we could not waste any more time. “Why do we have to go to Dante's place very suddenly?” She croaked. “I thought we were going to move to a place around the lake; I thought you said you already found a cottage we could manage.” “I understand that you are afraid, Melissa, but our journey and everything ascribed to our identity seems to be a big puzzle, but now that you have mentioned Jolene, I think we are about to make a big progress.” I stretched my hand, hoping to pull her off her back, but she flinched, her eyes growing wide with consternation. “I don't want to set my eyes on that dreadful monster.” Sh

Her long gown had been ripped into shreds, bearing a sharp semblance of rags. She did not say anything to me for a long time, and I was not able to hear the news until my messenger came to deliver the news of the Alpha and his council. I had not known Aurelia for a long time, but one thing was obvious: she was stronger than me. She possessed qualities I would never have dreamed of having. If she had been married to Dante, she would not have ended up in this kind of horrible situation. “Djurek, I can't believe I used to be in love with him.” “You are still in love with him,” I said as slowly as I could, trying to placate her. “He is you

Aurelia's POV “Who?” I asked. "Who are you referring to?" “It's a woman,” Melissande answered slowly, eyes squinted in calculation. “We're quite familiar with ourselves, but she doesn't know a lot about me. Hmm wait, I'm trying to remember her name.” She placed her hand on her chin and started stroking it. “Who is it?” I waited as she kept trying to remember, but just as she opened her mouth to speak, the door was suddenly flung open. “The Alpha Regent has requested to see you.” A tall and burly guard announced. “The Alpha Regent? Who is that?” The guard's refusal to answer the question brought the realization to me then. “But when did Djurek become a regent? Wasn't he just an Alpha before?” “You are not allowed to speak the king's name.” The guards snapped, eyeing me contemptuously. “And yes, he will be crowned king of the kingdom very soon. The heir's mother has even begun to plan his coronation.” “Oh really?” “Of course” I squeezed my face and twitched

Aurelia's POV My heart turned to ice in my chest, sending waves of shock ripping through me. I stopped in my tracks, face contorted in disbelief as I slowly turned around. “Aurelia!” she called out again, attempting to raise her head off the bed. “Melisande” I muttered slowly, my voice betraying me in a whisper. “Yes.” She answered. “I have been looking for you.” “How come you know me?” I asked, feeling the weight of the question on my lips. “How come you recognize me?” “You're my sister,” the pale and sickly woman answered. “I have been looking for my whole life.” My ears still had issues believing in these words, and my brain struggled hard to process them and make meaning of them. Melissande, the comatose puppet I met at Dante's castle, was my sister, not only just a sister but also my twin sister. These realizations felt like a dream or the climax part of a movie where all the events just collide and hit themselves. My name is Aurelia; I knew that for sure but an

But how could this be? A part of me wanted to discard this question because it was possible for her to have also bought the earrings, but it was unusual since women fashion trend were usually common. In other words, you could buy a dress or a piece of jewellery and see the exact type of it with another person on the same day you bought it. Other times, you might even see that hearing or whatever you bought with more than seven women in one day. I have never seen my earrings with anybody in my life. And when I was growing up in Nicholas's castle, I was usually told him that my earrings were very valuable. There were occasions when I nearly lost them to thieves. During the times of my financial hardship, it never occurred to me to sell my earrings for food because they were the only items I

He was dressed regally which meant that he had not been home ever since I left his chambers, with his hair glittering and sparkling. “I and Alison's parents have made a truth to assist ourselves in achieving our goals.” The gods made their way as they arrived at the scene, while Alison went to throw her arms around his neck. “It is true that the Darnish rebelled against me and joined forces with my enemy, but they are still very much important to my pack and the growth of my coast.” He leaned in towards me, his eyes mirroring the tension and uncertainty in the atmosphere. “The Darnish are going to help me look for the unknown Queen.
