Around approximately a hundred trots of the horses, the cart made of wood and decorated with flowers came to a stop in front of a magnificent castle. As I crossed the path, I saw a board with the name of this country, "Xanthan," etched on it.
I presumed these people weren't so affluent and abundant in riding cars or any other vehicles rather than boats, horses, and carts. It was comparable to the historical eras of the world inhabited by humans.
On the other hand, the setting appeared to be exactly the same as Prythian. It was the same as before, encircled by mountains, woods, and settlements on all sides.
"Once upon a time, fifteen years ago, there was a battle. When your parents were killed in this conflict, you became separated from them." Ryder said this as he assisted me in getting up after he jumped from the cart earlier.
I stared at him in confusion, unable to fathom what it was that he had just spoken. "What did you say?"
"Since that time, you have been a lone omega, going about your business in many forests. You were never granted permission to enter any kingdom by anyone. This is all that I am going to tell the Alpha King." As Ryder proceeded, the tangles that had formed in my mind began to unravel.
"Oh, makes sense. Nevertheless, what about who I am? And how did you come to know about me?" I asked.
"You have no recollection of anything at all." He stopped and looked at me for a moment. "This is the year that we met, and from the moment we did, I was hopelessly in love with you. We had been seeing one other for a few months prior to making the decision to be married."
"Great." In normal circumstances, I would have thought it was a hilarious prank; yet, because my thoughts were so jumbled and disorganized at the time, I had no choice but to believe the story that he had fabricated.
"Take note of the following facts in the event that he inquires about the war: it was a conflict between vampires and werewolves. We, the werewolves, triumphed in this conflict. Alpha Ronald, Alpha Atlas's father, served as King throughout that time period. Alpha Atlas is Alpha Ronald's son." He took a stop. "Alpha Atlas's mother is still around, despite the fact that Alpha Ronald has passed away. And she is the most tenacious woman you will ever come across in your life. He has a nice best buddy, but his fiancee is a terrible person. You absolutely must be conscious of them."
"got it." As we entered the castle through the gate, I gave a slight nod in acknowledgement. I didn't stop there since, most likely, I was with Ryder, the butler of the castle at the time.
"Let's go." He skirted the reception area and made his way towards the opulent main hall.
whThere, the man named Atlas and was chatting with some elderly gentlemen who might have been the staff. I bowed next to Ryder as I followed him around. Rage burned inside me. I have a strong desire to wipe out this kingdom right this minute.
"I see, Your Majesty, you have arrived at your palace already." Ryder extended a cordial greeting.
The nod was given by Alpha Atlas. "I am. You arrived really quickly today." He came to a complete stop and turned his attention to me. "May I ask who you are?" He questioned this while looking intently at my face.
"My wife." Ryder had maintained that everything went as planned.
His pupils became a little bit larger. "When did you get married?"
Ryder responded with "some time ago."
Atlas chuckled to himself and shook his head in apparent amazement. "You are kidding. A while ago, we had the pleasure of meeting."
Ryder agreed. "It wasn't my intention to be annoying to you in any way. Because of this, I chose not to share any information with you at that time."
"Who might it be? Is it someone I'm familiar with?" Atlas cocked his head to the side. I was a stranger to him. He was completely oblivious to the fact that I existed.
"Absolutely not, Your Majesty. She is regarded as an omega." Ryder lied.
The gentleman who had been standing next to Alpha Atlas pursed his lips together. "An Omega? And, you have taken her to this location, right? Are you certain that she is not a rogue?" Concerned, he was.
Ryder grimaced through his smile. "It's not true. Already one year has passed since we first became a couple."
"Great. It was not what I expected." Alpha Atlas gave me a grin and a raised brow before avoiding eye contact with me. "May I ask what your name is?"
"Caroline." I said strongly. It is quite unlikely that he will discover another werewolf with the same name anywhere else.
"How did you meet him?" I had the impression that I was there for an interview, and he was the one in charge of this place.
I let out a muffled sigh. "I was being pursued by a hunt. But I owe my life to him because he came to my rescue." I was also really good at making up stories in my spare time.
"Typical." The laugh came from Alpha Atlas. "What caused them to chase after you?"
"Because I used to call that wooded area my home when I was younger. After my parents passed away fifteen years ago, I was separated from the conflict, and I experienced a severe convulsion. Because of this, I can't recall a single thing that happened."
"Oh, you don't? Then, how may I be of use to you?" Atlas, the haughty one questioned. The only way he could assist was by donating money. Because nothing else was in his possession. There is nothing else.
"Please allow her to remain in this area. I assure you that there won't be any negative consequences." Ryder pleaded.
The brow was raised. "Is there anything else?"
"A job?" I was able to outrace Ryder and ask my question before he could answer.
After giving it some thought for a bit, Atlast gave a conclusive nod. "Wanna be my personal maid? You are welcome to apply for the role."
"Sure," I responded with self-assurance.
When he looked across at Ryder, he had a sly grin playing across his face. "Take her to the head, and tell him to explain everything to her,"
"Yes, your Majesty,"
Ryder exhaled a sigh, and when Atlas walked away, he stared at me as if he couldn't believe what he was seeing. "Why did you do that?"
"I have no choice but to investigate everything together with him." I was more resolute than anyone could possibly have imagined being. It was imperative that I locate my mother.
"Wise. But I beg you, try not to be careless. He is hazardous." Ryder reminded me.
"I won't."
When I entered the kitchen and headed towards the man who appeared to be in his thirties. He stopped teaching the employees and stared at me in shock. "You are going to be the Alpha's maid, are you?"The apartment house on the world of humans did not have a kitchen that could compare to the size of this one. On the other hand, the cooks here were not using gas stoves; rather, they were generating fires in between bricks and soil-made stoves. The temperature had reached an unfathomable new peak. I couldn't help but wonder how people could survive there in the scorching heat. It was already a form of pain for me.I simply nodded and bowed my head since I wasn't concerned enough. "You're right, and my name is Caroline. His maid." If he had dared to keep my mother hidden and played the cruel game, I would have no choice but to kill him as quickly as possible and become his murderer."Is it true that Alpha selected you?" The individual didn't believe either me or the choice that was made b
To be honest, I felt a little like an automaton in that outfit with the white apron over the black dress and stockings. It was the very first time in my entire life that I wore a dress of that kind.I let out a long sigh, and then I stepped out of the room and looked around for the kitchen, which is where I was meant to get the juice from. I had no idea where Ryder had gone after abandoning me. He was undoubtedly a pest, but at the very least, he had a duty to keep an eye on things. The mango juice was ready in the kitchen, and it had already reached the fill line on the jug. I went into the adjacent room to get a glass and then poured the juice into it before setting it down on a coffee tray and proceeding towards the main hall, which was constructed approximately twenty steps in front of the kitchen.Since I was the most victimized by life, I joyfully accepted his absence. I moved over to the man who was standing there with his back against the wall. I asked him what was going on. P
This man had no sense of shame. A while ago, he expressed disinterest in his fiancée, and now he is unsure whether or not he is interested in me."I am at this location because of the job." I managed to maintain my composure and spoke softly before yanking my hand away from his hold. If I was being honest and true to who I am, he would already be bloodied and bruised. He tightened his jaw and crossed his arms across his chest while doing so. "I was under the impression that you were here for Ryder."Oh sh*t, I was completely screwing up everything. I had some doubts. "Let's just say that I'm here for both of those." Bravo, Caroline! You are so incredibly astute. He gave a dismissive shake of his head. "You are not here for the job or Ryder," the man said. It was his assertion. I couldn't help but wonder what kind of eyesight he possessed to be able to spot it so quickly."What exactly are you trying to say?" I acted as though I wasn't impacted by it. Since he was intelligent, I ought
The chamber I entered was decorated in the exact same way that the Alpha's room had been. The only notable distinctions were that this room had been painted in pink hues all throughout, and it featured a number of tall, adorable dolls placed strategically across the bed and other pieces of furniture. I looked for the one that was closest to me, and as I opened it, my mouth nearly dropped open. There was a room inside the closet; to be more specific, it was called a closet room. I had never before been in a room like that. Hangers and bags were the only things I ever knew how to live with. Even a simple closet was out of my price range. Before entering the room, I mumbled to myself, "This is wholesome," and grabbed a pair of trousers and a top, which are two of my favorite types of clothing. There was a wide variety of clothes, the majority of which were gowns, hanging in the closet. Everything he did was for his fiancee, who was destined to become the Queen. When it came to luck, a
After rearranging my belongings and verbally berating Atlas a few hundred times in my head, I exited the room where he had been waiting for me to come back. When I was wearing the maid uniform, I felt a little strange, but when I changed into these clothing, I felt even more out of place. I was only a goddamned maid at this place. After observing me for a short while, he smiled briefly, but it was short-lived. "Let's go." He didn't care about anything at all. How could he act in such a careless manner?I began to speak, hesitatingly, just as he was about to take the next step forward. " To everyone else, it'll be strange to see the maids dressed up like that."He held my gaze and nodded gently. " You are absolutely right, it would be really strange to see a maid in these attire."At least his thick skull contains a few semblances of common reason. "I believe I need to change." I gave him a friendly grin and turned my back on him, but he grabbed my hand."What exactly is it that's talk
It had been close to a quarter of an hour already. He continued to speak to them in a very calm manner, and with his eyes cast downward, he would frequently steal glances at me that caused shivers to run down my spine.I was concerned that he might have looked into my identification already. The individuals with whom he was conversing appeared to be more human-like. In the human world, of course, I also possessed an identity of my own. What if he already knows that information about it? I didn't give a damn about myself, but if I got caught, it would mean that the quest for my mother was a bust. I brought my palm up to my lips and started biting down on my fingernails with my teeth in an effort to calm my racing heart and steady my nerves. I kept my eyes fixated on the ground as the various possibilities of my pointless thoughts continued to torment me."Why do you have that look on your face?"When I looked up to the source of the male voice, I nearly jumped when I saw Alpha Atlas.
vvInside his bedroom, Atlas pushed me in the direction of his closest room, which had a design that was identical to that of his fiancee's room. One key distinction was that, rather than women's clothing, only men's was available."Why am I in this place?" I looked over to Atlas, who was grinning broadly in the reflection of the mirror that was next to me."Of course, to choose what I'm going to wear." He responded before grabbing my hand and leading me to the various closets in the room."I apologize for bothering you with this question, but do you not have a personal stylist... or fashion designer?" I inquired, and without making a fuss, he opened the cupboard door for me to look inside. After that, he positioned his arms in a cross over his chest. "I have a fashion designer. However, he does not have sufficient time to select outfits for me on a daily basis. It is up to you to do it.""Great." I complimented the clothes in the closet while simultaneously running my hand over them.
The dining area he was referring to was actually another enormous hall. A table that was approximately twenty feet in length was put up and was flanked on either side by dozens of chairs fit for a king. An elderly lady and two guys were sitting in the three chairs that were taken up by them.I bowed to them as I entered the room and sat down for breakfast with Atlas. It is likely that Atlas' mother was the elderly woman. She had his eyes and his nose, and she appeared to be quite threatening, just like he and Ryder had informed me.The younger of the two males was the one that I was familiar with. It turned out that he was the Alex who I had talked to earlier in the grand hall. And the other one was elderly; it must have been a member of their family. He wore a dark coat and had the same hairdo as Atlas, which added to his already striking good looks."She is... the maid everyone seems to be talking about, isn't she?" As soon as the woman recognized me, she started a conversation with
