Kira
My life was screwed.
Not just the usual kind where I'd be consoled seeing other omegas like me going through the same ordeal. Instead, I was completely alone, with no one to share my fears with.
Alpha D'Angelo, of all people, was my mate?
I'd be damned. I didn't see that coming.
While the Alpha seemed as shocked as I was, sniffed our bond and took a step back like he'd just seen a ghost, all I could think of were the most horrifying ways I would die.
Perhaps he would throw me over a cliff, or ram my head repeatedly against the glass walls, or worse still, throw me into a dungeon filled with hungry lions.
Despite my life hanging by a thin thread, something strange was happening to my wolf. She was excited and demanded a taste of the forbidden flesh.
My knees weakened like jelly when the scent hit me again. The alpha's gaze roamed my face, then down to my neck and body, searching every inch with his eyes and leaving a trail of raised hairs on my skin.
"Why are you naked on my terrace?”
Bloody Fockin’ Hell!
I forgot that Zion had ruined my dress. I was wearing my ugly cotton panties. Mortified, I covered my boobs with the remnants of my dress.
The alpha stripped off a white shirt and wrapped it around me. His scent and cologne were imprinted on it, and his fingers grazed my skin as he buttoned up the shirt, making my wolf more primal. I attempted to rise again, but my legs betrayed me.
Like someone in a trance, the alpha's index finger twirled a strand of my dirty blonde hair. He leaned closer, his face inches from mine. I was lost in the depths of his eyeballs. The deep green and rich amber blended beautifully, with hints of gold that seemed to dance in the light.
His well-defined abs also caught my attention. I felt an overwhelming urge to touch the hard planes of his chest, the curve of his hip, and even kiss him.
But how dare I?
"Is your tongue missing? Who was that loser that ran off? You two had the guts to fuck on my terrace?”
My cheeks burned with embarrassment and I was at a loss for words. Perhaps this was the time to say my final prayers.
As if he could read my thoughts, he froze in place and his eyes bulged like saucers. He stared at me with disgust and horror.
"Omega?!”
"O...omega," I stuttered.
Like a dog on a leash, I was strongly aware of this wicked bond. It was more intense than anything I had ever experienced in my life.
The alpha jerked up straight, raking his fingers through his dark hair. Several emotions played across his face—conflict at first—then his gaze roamed over my body with a lustful heat that surpassed even Zion's shameless stares.
Without warning, his mood darkened with such force that I thought he'd fish out a gun and blow my head off. Instead, his face twisted in a snarl, and he let out a storm of cruel curses. Each word cut through my soul until all I wanted was to crawl into the ground and die.
I stumbled backward and almost toppled over the terrace's edge. What bloody drink did Zion give me? My trembling legs made it nearly impossible for me to steady myself. I had to escape, and I had to do it now.
"Sorry... Sorry... I'll go, I swear. I'll never, ever, ever come back here. I swear on my mom's life!”
His gaze and prolonged silence made me increasingly afraid. I'd never felt such raw panic before. My back collided with the glass wall behind me, and I tried to merge with the wall itself.
"Did you get an invitation to this party?"
There was bitterness oozing from the edges of his steely tone. I burst into tears.
"I... No... Please don't kill me. My mom-”
"Does your mom know you planned to fuck your ugly boyfriend on my terrace? I bet she doesn't."
His hand closed around my shoulder, and my instincts screamed at me to escape, so I wrenched free and rushed towards the terrace's edge, driven by the urge to survive.
"Stop moving backward. You're going to fall," the alpha said, this time in a non-threatening gesture, and gripped my hand.
Despite the coolness of the night breeze, a glaze of sweat broke out of my skin when his finger brushed across mine. My heartbeat increased so fast that I thought it would jump out of my throat.
“P-please Alpha. I beg you to forgive me,” I whimpered, going on my knees. “Please! My mom is sick. My friends and I snuck in to get some medication for her.”
The alpha looked genuinely confused, and his eyes darted back and forth as if fighting with an internal force. Then he scoffed.
"You dare to spin such pathetic lies? Does my terrace resemble a clinic? I caught you naked with your lover.”
This was trouble. He would either have to break the bond or resort to something far worse.
"You must be punished for daring to break the rules. Until you bring me the rest of your gang, you'll be thrown into my dungeon and share a bed with rodents."
I gazed at him in disbelief. Was my punishment simply to spend the night with rats? Nothing more?
When he leaned in, I thought he was going to kiss me. Instead, his brows knitted together in a sharp triangle. He sniffed my breath and clicked his teeth.
"You're the most outrageous trespasser to ever invade my privacy! You not only helped yourself to my champagne, but you also had the nerve to trespass on my terrace. Your audacity is staggering.”
My tears were flowing freely, and I couldn't control them anymore. "I didn't mean to... I didn't do this on purpose. Please, my mom needs me.”
“Enough with the lies. You can't fool me.”
He stopped talking and an unsettled look danced in his eyes. Silent tears flowed down my face. Footsteps approached us, making the alpha swiftly pull away.
His eyes darted towards the approaching figure. A tall man, almost as tall as the alpha but chubbier, emerged. He wore his long hair in a ponytail, and from his striking green eyes and looks, I figured he was Alpha D'Angelo's beta.
He scanned me from head to toe, making me feel like a naked piece of meat.
"What's a smelly omega doing here?"
The alpha's eyes faltered. I saw the faint glimmer of fear in his eyes as if he were hesitant to reveal the truth about who I was. He quickly stuttered, "Uh, nothing..."
His beta's eyes narrowed further. "Why did you leave your party to come up here? Why is she wearing your shirt? What's going on?"
"Enough with the questions, Leo. I caught her trying to steal from me. Send a guard to take her to the dungeon and keep him stationed outside her cell. Anyone who harms her will die a miserable death.”
The alpha's command made fear slice through my chest. His beta did as told. A guard saluted, and my eyes plea
ded with the alphas to have mercy on me. Without another word, he turned on his heel and walked away.
D'Angelo "You fucked her, didn't you?" Leo's accusatory voice echoed behind me.Ignoring him, I walked away and sought a semblance of normalcy. Leo's questions were becoming increasingly pushy. As my beta, he was coming from a place of concern, but what if I couldn't provide answers or bring myself to reveal that the girl was my mate—a secret too dangerous to share? What if I was lost in a sea of confusion?Faint music and muffled laughter drifted up as I made my way to the wine bar. A hundred shots of tequila could never dull the suffocating fear that threatened to consume me. I reached for a bottle, poured and gulped down the amber liquid with reckless speed. The tequila burned my throat. I threw back shot after shot, annoyed that alcohol couldn't numb my senses."What were you thinking, D'Angelo, shoving your thing into...""Can you stop it?" I snapped back. "Did you catch me in the act?"Leo dragged a hand across his face. "I'm telling it like I saw it.""I didn't... I wouldn't
Kira The unmerciful guard led to a dungeon alive with the sounds of rats scurrying, distant voices, and torchlights flashing through the cracked walls."Look what we've got here," a rough voice called out, breaking the silence. "Fresh meat."My bladder loosened. I'd never been so terrified. I could hear boots approaching and clanging against the stone floor, and raw terror tightened its hold on my body. The torchlight grew brighter, bringing two guards into view. Both were big men and heavily armed. Their cruel and hungry eyes raked over me."What do you think, Jack? Think she's worth the trouble?" one said and leaned closer to sniff me.The guard who brought me in stopped him. "The alpha said not to touch her.""But that doesn't mean we can't have some fun with her," another guard with an eye patch demanded in a gruff voice. "Let's take a good look at her."It was a struggle to breathe properly as panic clouded my mind."Please don't hurt me."They looked amused at the sound of my
Kira The journey back to the Omega camp was a blur. I was tossed in the back of an open van with my hands tied behind my back.A chilly wind whipped through the open windows, burning my nose and caused my bones to tremble. It didn't help that the van’s motion kept slamming my body against its hard sides. Alpha D'Angelo's hatred for me must be so intense that he was desperate to get rid of me. I wanted to label him as cruel. But what did I expect from a powerful alpha upon discovering our forbidden mating bond? Acceptance? Yeah right. We drove out of the border, and my heart couldn't stop thrashing against my ribcage.A low groan slipped from my lips as I shrank away, clinging to the van's side. I was desperate to wake up from this living nightmare as I imagined the sheer horror that would be visible on my mom's face when I dropped the devastating bombshell—our banishment. It would shatter her.We drew near the crumbling tents of the Omega camp, and the sky began to brighten with th
D'Angelo The morning after my coronation was terrible. I woke up with a headache threatening to burst my skull open. But when memories of last night flooded back, the headache paled in comparison to the painful heartache that struck me like a blow.My mate. The one person destined to be my perfect match, was an omega, belonging to the lowest rung of society, poor, uneducated, and undesirable for my status. The thought of being bonded to an omega felt like a curse. I rubbed my forehead in an attempt to shake off the lingering fogginess, but my mind kept recoiling at the thought of this impossible union. How could the goddess be so cruel? I thought myself fortunate, born into old money had alpha blood, and was destined for power and privilege. I enjoyed the finest life had to offer and was crowned alpha of one of the most powerful packs on the south coast, a position many envied. But now, luck seemed to have abandoned me. It was as if the moon goddess had declared, "You've had your
KiraMom and I dragged our aching feet through the thick woods, exhausted and afraid. The oak and pine trees had branches tangled above us. The air was cold and damp, with a hint of wet earth and leaves. A thin mist hung low to the ground, which made it hard to see very far ahead. We could see our breath as we walked, and the chill in the air made us huddle deeper into our jackets. We had been walking for hours, and hunger pangs gnawed at my belly. Desperate for anything edible, I scanned our surroundings, but the trees offered nothing but leaves and twigs. My mom's eyes, sunken with fatigue, met mine, and I knew she was just as famished as I was. The fear of not surviving made my heart pound, and my senses were on high alert. Ever since Dad turned rogue on my tenth birthday, Mom had always been the strong one, but now she leaned heavily on me."Honey, are you sure we're going the right way?" She asked weakly. "Yes, I think so," I lied, more to reassure myself than her. We wandered
D'AngeloMy mind was a mess. Leo had warned me to keep my distance from the lake house for now, but it was taking every morsel of my sanity not to grab my keys, drive to the house, and claim what was mine. In all my twenty-five years, I had never felt such a deep longing for something that it felt like my very existence hung in the balance. My image filled my thoughts, refusing to be extinguished. At night, my dreams were filled with visions of me riding her body with the passion of a beast and filling her with my seed. It was two days of torture. My focus began to wane, and I struggled to concentrate on even the simplest tasks because my mind was constantly drifting back to her.I caught myself staring blankly at the walls, unable to concentrate on anything else. The coronation party passed in a blur and my wolf raged within me, craving to be closer to our mate. I needed to shake off this obsession, but it seemed to have taken on a life of its own, growing like a tumor. On the aft
Kira My heart raced like a jackrabbit. I'd never experienced such terror in my entire life. It was so bad that my vision blurred. The odds of bumping into Alpha D'Angelo were incredibly low, but here he was, standing right in front of me.I couldn't believe my bad luck.Everything was spiraling out of control. Mom looked confused and I regretted not being honest with her. I was putting her life in danger.Alpha D'Angelo's long strides ate up the distance. He stood before me, and shock accentuated his perfect face. As usual, he looked and smelled expensive, reminding me of my disheveled looks. I probably looked like a raving lunatic covered in sweat and dirt, with my hair a tangled mess and my face swollen from crying. His piercing gaze swept over me, lingering momentarily on my breasts. His eyes darkened further, and I felt my legs give way beneath me. I dropped to my knees and clasped my hands together in a desperate plea."Please spare my life." I wept as tears streamed down my fac
Kira Unease crept into me like a silent snake slithering through the grass. Alpha D'Angelo's gamma drove my mom and me in the eerily quiet car. I sat in the backseat, grasping my mom's hand. My hands couldn't stop trembling, and the moisture in my palm made my grip slippery.I tightened my grip, trying to still my tremors. My eyes darted up to the gamma. He was focused on the road and I kept glancing at him every few seconds, searching for any sign of danger. He turned on the radio, filling the car with the sound of the six-p.m World News, where the anchor headlined financial reports and anticipation of the full moon.Mom made me lean my head on her shoulder. I still didn't trust the gamma, but I preferred him over the cruel and heartless beta. She leaned in close and whispered in my ear, "Eat, Kira.”I turned to her and wiped the faint sheen of sweat on her forehead before whispering, "You need food more. You still have a bit of a fever, and I don't want you to get weaker.""I'm fu
