Anthony

I knew something was off with Zina when I woke up, and the shower was running for over 10 minutes.

Zina never wasted water. In fact, for the few days we've been here, she has scolded me about how I always left water to run because some people and animals in certain parts of the world didn't have access to water. We would often laugh about it eventually. So, now that the shower had been on for this long, I grew worried.

Maybe she was washing her hair or something. At first, I tried to ignore the creeping worry and just lazed in bed until I heard a quiet sniff.

It was almost like she was trying to hide it. I froze, listening carefully.

There it was again.

She was crying.

Guilt hit me like a blow. I had taken her away from the life she knew, dragged her into this mess, and turned her into a fugitive. She probably hated every second of this. I couldn’t even blame her. I was falling apart, and now she was too.

Maybe she was frustrated with me and regretted everything.

ZinaAnthony had found a clinic not far from our lodge. It wasn’t exactly a top-tier medical facility; it was more like the place that catered to locals suffering from minor ailments—sunburn, food poisoning, or the flu.The doctor’s eyes were on me during the check-up as if I were some enigma. I didn't blame him. We didn't belong to their pack, and my presence was expected to spark curiosity everywhere we went. All I needed was a routine check-up to ensure the baby was okay. That morning, Anthony was paranoid as usual. It was so bad that he'd probably believe Vivian’s thugs were hiding under the bed. He was always on high alert, which annoyed me most of the time, but I found it amusing this morning. He brought out five different black veils, each larger than the last. One was so long it could’ve doubled as a wedding gown. I burst out laughing, unable to hold it in. “Seriously? Are you trying to wrap me up like a mummy?”“I just want you to be safe,” he grumbled, not sharing my amus

ZinaThe female officer escorted me into the cell, locking it behind me with a heavy metallic clang. At twenty-five years old, I had never thought I’d find myself in this place.I scanned the small cell. There were three grimy, rusted bunks against the walls and a dingy toilet tucked away in the corner. It was a breeding ground for bacteria. The thought of using it made my stomach churn, especially since I was pregnant. The officer probably thought I was a fool for getting arrested over a man, but what did she know? Maybe I was a little foolish, but I didn’t have the energy to care. This ordeal would be over soon.Sighing wearily, I turned around, only then noticing the other women in the cell. Each of them was sitting on a bunk, and there was no space left for me.I stood there awkwardly. Flashes of stories I’d heard about people being mistreated in police cells ran through my mind. Not that I was afraid, though. They were women like me, after all. Maybe if I told them I was pregnan

"Oh my goodness, she's home!” I heard Kira scream from the terrace. She rushed downstairs and threw her arms around me in a tight hug, almost squeezing the breath out of me, but then quickly pulled away. Her eyes scanned me from head to toe, and her face flickered with several emotions – relief that I was back and maybe a slight disappointment, too. I could see it in her eyes. If Kira was this emotional, I wondered how D'Angelo would react. But that was the least of my worries right now.Kira’s eyes darted behind me toward the police convoy that had just dropped me off. I turned to face them as well. “I promised your boss that you would be heavily paid.”They nodded back, got into their vehicles, and drove away. Kira squeezed my hand, and I could feel the unspoken questions she had. I didn’t have any answers for her – at least, not ones that would make sense.“I’m glad you’re home,” she said softly, but the awkward silence hung between us like clouds.“Don’t even ask me why I did it,”

AnthonyIt had been two long, grueling weeks since I arrived here—two weeks without daylight. The cell was suffocating. The air was heavy with sweat, filth, and despair. I hated it. There was no escape, not even the chance of bail. Zina had done everything she could, and even my mom had tried. But the court refused, claiming the case was too severe and that Vivian was supposedly afraid for her life because I was a “threat.” The irony of it all. The real criminal was out there, living her life, while I rotted in this hellhole.Zina had mentioned that D'Angelo was hunting for Vivian, but there wasn’t a single trace of her. Wasn't that enough to show everyone that she was a manipulative bastard? Yet here I was, gripping the cold iron bars, feeling every ounce of rage flood me. The cell was filled with men awaiting trial, some hardened criminals. Every day was a battle. We fought over everything—blankets, the toilet, cigarettes, even toothpaste. The fights were often petty, but here, it

ZinaMy heart thudded dully in my chest as I rushed toward Anthony and threw my arms around him in a tight hug. He couldn’t hold me back because handcuffs bound his wrists, but I didn’t care. I needed him to feel my presence and to know I was here for him. His eyes were sad and, at the same time, filled with love for me. I cupped his chin gently, looking him straight in the eyes, trying to pour all my strength into him. “We’re doing everything we can to get you out of here. Don’t lose hope.”He nodded and shot me a tired smile. Gwen stepped forward and reached out for her son. She pulled him into a careful embrace, her tears held at bay, but the pain on her face was obvious. I hated that Anthony looked so messy. His prison clothes looked wrinkled, and he seemed to have lost weight. It angered me to see how poorly they treated him, even though this wasn’t prison yet. If this was how he was treated now, I dreaded wondering what would happen if he were sentenced. In the werewolf commu

On the night before we visited the Cook, I couldn't rest. I tried to watch TV but began seeing images flicker before my eyes, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t concentrate.By the time 5:30 rolled around, I gave up trying. D'Angelo knocked on my door, and I gathered my things, heading downstairs to the waiting car.“You don’t have to come with us, you know.”“No. I want to see this through. Besides, you and Kai are men. She might not feel comfortable opening up to you. I’m a woman who knows how to deal with female situations. Maybe she’ll relate better to me.”“Fair enough.”Kira rushed downstairs in her nightgown. The love between her and D’Angelo was so wholesome. They reminded me of myself and Grey. It was funny how their dynamic was still fresh, and despite being in love, there was that newness to their relationship that made everything seem exciting. Maybe it was the whole alpha-omega dynamic, too. It was appealing.D'Angelo never left the house until Kira hugged him, an

ZinaIt seemed that luck was finally on Anthony's side. After the cook’s testimony, more evidence surfaced from other workers who had fled but were now willing to come forward and testify. It was like a floodgate had opened. D'Angelo had been right; if Anthony had continued living in fear, none of this would have ever come to light. Even though people like me knew he hadn’t killed anyone, without any substantial evidence, we would have had no chance of pinning Vivian down. Now, the issue was that Vivian had disappeared. No one knew where she was, and despite the mountain of evidence we had gathered, the police and the court wanted her to testify. But she was nowhere to be found.I visited Anthony. He looked much more relieved, knowing his innocence was slowly being proven. We were allowed to sit together in the small garden outside the prison. Anthony looked at me with so much love in his eyes, and he asked, “What would I have done without you?”“Absolutely nothing.”He laughed an

The hushed whispers and over a hundred pairs of eyes watching me made me tremble in fear. I avoided everyone's gaze and stepped forward to meet my wolf for the first time. As the alpha's only child, my only purpose in the pack was to breed and produce an heir, and the pack's future rested in my hands. I didn't want to fail my dad and packmates, even though they'd failed me countless times. But my stepmother was convinced I wasn't an alpha wolf. She was making mocking faces at me, while Dad wore a bored frown, and my step-sisters, who were always treated better than me, waited to laugh scornfully at me.“Come closer, Iris. Don't be afraid.“The elders waited patiently for me to approach them, but my legs didn't feel like mine. They were so heavy. After meeting my wolf, I would marry Ethan, my boyfriend, have our first son, and hand him over to my dad. Then, Etha

AdonisI was furious when I discovered that some sick bastard dared to douse Iris's body with acid.It felt like a cruel joke, a sickening slap in the face—and I couldn't wrap my head around something so despicable that could happen to a pure, harmless soul. I blamed myself for letting her leave the safety of my sight. If only she had stayed a little longer, this terrible act could have been prevented. The thought of what she must be going through filled me with rage beyond words.Machines were beeping, and medical staff in scrubs were working quickly to attend to her. My mind was chaotic as I paced around the small clinic."Dammit," I swore, breathless with rage. After they had gotten her out of danger, I was allowed to see her.I gently brushed a hair off her face while the highly skilled medical staff efficiently attended to her wounds."We've identified that the acid used is a mild form, and fortunately, it didn't affect her internal organs. We had all the privacy we needed to explore our bodies. I stifled my laughter when Adonis wrenched my skirt up around my ass. He was inordinately pleased with himself at that moment, which only intensified my smile as I pulled his shirt off and kissed him softly on his chest.'Surely you're not thinking about having sex here in the open,' I said playfully into his mouth as he pulled me tighter against his naked body. He smiled as he nipped my jawline softly before kissing me harder.“Who's going to try and stop us, right? There's nowhere else I'd rather be than right here with you.”“And what if someone sees us? What if there are guards patrolling the house? Or if the power comes back on?”Adonis covered my mouth hungrily before pulling out a pack of condoms. The girls were fuming with envy toward me, and I noticed how they would frown and sulk whenever I walked into the room. They were unnecessarily rude, talking behind my back and giving me fake smiles, and even those who were nice enough were just putting on an act.Jealousy couldn't be hidden, no matter how hard they tried to mask it. The way the girls were acting toward me was unsettling. Their envy consumed them so much that I worried they might do something to hurt me.I hoped they wouldn't attempt to poison my food.Sitting cross-legged on my bed, I pulled out a classic literature book I had taken from Adonis' study and tried to ignore the subtle insults from the other girls. The trick was to act like I didn’t hear them, but I couldn’t deny that their words stung. It was hard to remain calm.“Let’s be real,” one of the girls, who seemed the most spiteful, spoke up. “Alpha Adonis might have flirted with other girls too. The sound of footsteps outside her cell drew Helena’s attention back to the present. She tensed as Victoria, Alexander’s whore, approached her, clasping her hands together in a tight grip. The hatred Helena felt for Victoria surged to the surface, burning hot and fierce. She had never known she could hate anyone more than she hated this woman. Victoria needed to be punished for causing Mona so much pain, even up until her death.Victoria’s smirk was malicious, her satisfaction evident as she raised her chin high, wild-eyed. She looked down at Helena with a smug expression, as if relishing in her suffering.“So, how is the confinement?” Victoria asked, her voice dripping with false sweetness.Helena shrugged and turned away, refusing to give her the satisfaction of a response. “What do you think?”“You should eat,” Victoria said indifferently, setting a tray of food on the floor. “We’re just trying to find your niece.”“I won’t touch anything from you,” Helena spat back, her voice full

Helena sat on the cold, gray stone floor of the dank cell in Alexander’s house. The bastard had locked her up for three days. The stone was rough and unforgiving beneath her, seeping its chill through her thin clothing. She leaned against the damp wall, the smell of mildew and decay filling her nostrils, wondering when this madness would finally be over. Her thoughts kept circling back to her husband, Bruno. When I entered Adonis’ room, the lighting was dim, just bright enough to reveal his sleeping figure. The heavy curtains barely let in any light.Adonis lay still, his powerful frame resting under the covers. Despite his powerful Lycan nature, he looked fragile, as if strong medications had knocked him out.I stood there, my mind confused. How could someone as powerful as Adonis fall ill? His blood was stronger than most werewolves', making him more resistant to illnesses and diseases than any of us. Fred’s gaze lingered on me, as if he could read my thoughts. His smile was gentle, but it didn’t reach his eyes. There was surely something behind it."Don’t worry about him," Fred assured me. "It’s just stress. I’m sure when he wakes up, he’ll feel a lot better.""Stress?" I echoed, trying to make sense of it. "What’s causing him stress? He seemed fine the last time I saw him."Fred ran a hand through his hair, looking uncomfortable. He looked away and his eyes avoided mine as if the ans
