Chapter 138

LORRAINE'S POV

The next morning, I watched Kylian's sleeping form. He looked so peaceful while he slept. His breathing was shallow but even, at least. I watched as his chest rose and fell slowly.

I had gotten the boys ready for school and taken them. Now that I was back, I wanted to take care of Kylian. He still hasn't feeling too well.

I gathered the things that I needed to clean him up that morning—a basin of warm water, clean cloths, and fresh bandages. As I got his things ready, I still wondered how this happened. How did he really end up here? How could he have lost his memory? The strong and dominant Alpha I knee now lay vulnerable and unaware of his surroundings. The sight was both heartbreaking and confusing.

I crouched down beside him and touched his chest. He still had a fever and his face was slightly pale. He looked so fragile like this.
