The Prophecy.

Alpha Tyler's POV.

"You can be dethroned Alpha."

The words sunk into my ears like a trickle of hot water. How could that be possible? All through my forefathers reign as the Alpha of the pack they had never been dethroned.

Never.

How could it possibly happen in my own time?

The pack priestess gazed at me calmly as though she hadn't just spilled words that could be likened to treason. I returned the gaze with a scowl on my face. She was an old grey haired and frail woman but she was full of wisdom. She had served my grandfather and father before me, she had outlived any other in the entire pack. She broke the gaze and began to pick at the ornaments lining the helm of her silver coloured gown. She was known to be full of wit just as much as she was full of mischief. I was the centre of her taunts while growing up, it was nothing utterly destructive, but on few occasions I barely made it out with my life. I noticed a small curl on her lips.

"Dana, you must be sure to not make a mistake else......."

"It's in the prophecy Alpha."

I paused.

"Dana this is definitely not the time to play one of your sick games......." Before I could complete my statement she reached into the pouch lying on her lap and pulled out a scroll. She flung it at me.

"Open it and take a look." She dragged in her husky tone. "I know you think I'm a crazy lady Ty but I do not joke with matters concerning the pack's safety."

I opened the scroll.

"Your fate is linked with that of your mate. You must find her."

I felt a sudden rage begin to engulf me.

"Why......why?!!!" I threw the scroll across the room with force and got up instantly. I didn't want to ruin my suit that had been earlier pressed and smoothened to my liking, I still had to attend a meeting in the Royal Hall in few minutes.

"Tyler........"

"How the hell am I supposed to find this woman?" I hissed out.

"Well I'll suggest you begin a search at once......."

"I'm not joking here Dana."

"Neither am I. You don't have a choice. You must look for her and bring her here."

Pause.

"Does my mother know about this?"

"Not yet."

I took a deep breathe. This was the most unexpected development and I could very well do without the trouble of combing the entire world looking for one woman. And what about Brie..........

"I trust you'll continue to keep this to yourself until I've figured out what I must do." I turned and looked at Dana.

She nodded.

"Good. For now please leave." I turned and walked towards the balcony in my suite and looked out the window. I could see the maids and workers in the Palace tending to my lawns from where I was.

I was beyond perplexed. This was so unexpected. My mate? I knew Brie was not my mate. We were lovers and we had been together for the longest of time.

Speaking of which where is she now? She was usually by my side whenever I was around demanding for one luxurious thing or the other. I made to turn to go see if she's in her suite, then I stopped. I needed the peace to think about my current situation.

My mate. Dana said it as though it was an ordinary thing. How the hell was I going to begin my search. And then there was Marcel that I desperately needed to wash my hands in his blood before the week ran out. His matter had been pending with me and Damian couldn't wait any longer either. He was working for Shaiza. I always suspected, I only got the confirmation I needed from our spy at his pack days ago.

The old me would have wiped out his pack without the confirmation, I only needed to have a feeling that something wasn't right with him. But after the death of my father I softened up.

I chuckled.

I walked over to the bar at the edge of my suite facing the small library I had created for myself. I picked a glass and a bottle of whiskey and poured myself a drink.

Shaiza was my greatest enemy, the greatest enemy of the Green Moss Pack and I considered anyone that associated with him in any way the same. He was the bastard son of a stray wolf who thought he could challenge my pack. My father was killed in a war against him and I swore I'd take his life and that of anyone associated to him in anyway.

He had gone into hiding shortly after the war. He was a coward. But I would keep searching for him and once I found him I would make sure I give him a horrible and unfortunate but well deserved death. I'll make him suffer.

We were going to storm Marcel's pack tomorrow night.

If we could get that out of the way then I could begin my search for this woman. Damian would handle things for me while I'm away.

**********************

"Get everything ready for me to leave to tonight." I was taking a stroll along the gardens at the back of the castle with Damian.

"You wish to begin the search for your woman.........."

"Damian." I shot him a cold glance.

"Forgive me Alpha." He bowed slightly.

I took a deep breath.

"I'm heading to . I want to get my business there over and done with."

"Alright Alpha."

I paused and looked at him.

"Damian cut it....."

"I mean I don't want to speak out of turn......"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean you've been quite irritated of late."

"I just........I'm just tired I guess."

Damian nodded.

"I guess."

Pause. We resumed our stroll.

"What's getting you so worked up Tyler? Definitely it can't be Marcel....."

"It isn't."

"Then what is?"

I paused. I didn't know if i could bare out my emotions to Damian. He wasn't just my Beta, he was my best friend. I confided in him often, but this was something I wasn't just comfortable talking about.

"I wonder if I'll ever be able to find the woman Dana claims is my mate."

"The woman Dana claims......?" Damian laughed.

"I'm serious here......"

"Yh I know, I had a feeling this would be what has been bothering you, but come on Tyler, if there's anyone that can find her it's you."

"And what if I don't get to her on time? What if Shaiza gets her first? What if the prophecy......."

"Look......" Damian put his hands on my shoulder and forced me to look at him. ".....you've got this. You're in control. You'll find her."

I sighed.

"Thanks man." We exchanged an awkward smile.

"I'll make arrangements for your trip tonight." With that he turned and walked back to the castle.
