Shaking her head to get over the noises from her surroundings, Mira looked around. She was sitting on a silver chair and her hands were chained behind while her ankles were chained to the chair’s legs. At times like this, she could use help from her monster but she still couldn’t feel her monster’s presence in her mind.
He was so close to sinking his teeth on Leonardo’s neck for wanting to bring Mira for trial while the vampires had taken her hostage. They were so busy wanting to bring her in for trial while they put a blind eye on her abduction. Cohen doubted her safety was important to them. Maybe what they wanted was what she was. A demon wolf with infinite secrets locked inside her DNA.
Mira stood there. Everywhere was darkness and fog. She felt so cold until she could see her own breath. She stared at her trembling hands. Something was different this time. Leonardo hadn’t left since three days ago and every day he came to the pack to ask the Alpha about Mira. For three days, Leonardo had been bugging him with all the offenses and laws he had broken from the moment he protected Mira during her confrontation with Dalton until to this very moment he was harboring her.
Cohen pushed Leonardo’s enforcers away and rushed to the window. Two snipers were stationed on the tallest cliff on the east part of his land. He grabbed Leonardo by the collar. The Council’s Enforcers stepped in but were stopped by Leonardo’s signal.

She probably didn’t expect Cohen to renounce right then and there. “Cohen,” Mira whispered. “What are you doing?” “I will submit an official letter to the Council within forty-eight hours from this moment. Now, you are no longer welcome on my territory,” he said, ignoring Mira as he faced Leonardo once more. “Take all your Enforcers and the snipers and leav
