Levi’s POV
Shrek!
That’s it!
She reminded me of that damn cat in that Shrek cartoon! The way she’d always pouted her red lips and made those huge emerald green puppy eyes sparkle in the light. Making her look so innocent and sweet, even my beast had a hard time being mad at her.
I groaned in annoyance and leaned back in my chair, knowing I had better things to do than to fantasize about my maid. That girl could make kings grovel at her feet - including yours truly! - and she didn’t even know it. She was so pure and innocent, yet didn't come across as naive or childish. she was just genuinely a really kind and sweet person, with no amount of sass lacking.
I tripped my pen repeatedly against my desk, growling more and more annoyed with myself. But no matter how desperately I tried to push her out of my mind, the second thought that entered my mind was about her as well. I felt like she had me whipped and I didn't like it.
But a part of me did…
I liked the way she would make a complete mess out of things, constantly having to apologize and pout those delicious lips for me. I’d quickly figured out she couldn’t cook, but I loved how she never gave up trying anyway. She would have batter on her face and in her hair. Flour would cover her cheeks and nose and sugar would be stuck to her fingers. And more often than not my wolf wanted to go over and lick it off…
Again I tried to concentrate on my paperwork before I needed another cold shower. I frowned, as a thought suddenly struck me. Why should I settle for a cold shower? I could call Laurel or Cassy and get a quick shag if I wanted to. The last time I had Cassy over, she’d voiced some concerns about Dina being my maid and the rumors it created. I then told her to mind her own business and to fuck off. I did what I fucking well pleased and if they didn't like it, they could either suck it up or leave. I didn't give a shit about female drama and as far as I could tell, Dina wasn't getting any heat for being my maid.
Or at least if she did, she hadn't told me about it. So, whatever female insecurities or powerplays were at large, I wasn't going to get involved. Not that I didn't take pack issues seriously, but in this case, it was pure jealousy. Dina was gorgeous through and through. Not only was her body perfect, but she had this way about her that instantly captured you. Her smile, her honesty, her laughter... Just seeing her put you in a good mood and hell, even my wolf liked her. She was the kind of sexy that wasn't all up in your face, but subtle in a way that slowly grew on you until you were addicted. It would leave you with a hard-on just thinking about her and before you knew it, you were jerking off to the image of her.
And she slept under my roof...
I leaned back in frustration, feeling my wolf stirring too. He wanted her just as badly as I did. So why didn’t I just take her? I’d never had any problem convincing women to get into my bed. But then again, they were always eager to get there, because I was the alpha. Dina--- No, she didn’t strike me as the type to casually fuck around. Much to my own and my wolf’s dismay. She wasn’t going to be like anyone else. I couldn't just fuck her and then kick her to the curb the next morning. No... She was someone you got into a relationship with---
And speaking of relationships, I wondered what her and Mick’s relationship was now. Would they rekindle their lost love? I knew my brother was discreetly trying to find a mate, but would it be her? That thought alone sent my wolf into a frenzy and he holed in rage, fighting me for control. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, forcing positive thoughts into my mind. It was the only way I could keep my wolf under control. Otherways---
“Unbelievable, aggressive beast,” I muttered to no one in particular, rubbing the brim of my nose once I was back in control. I could feel him scoffing in my direction. Insulting him was never a good idea, but I’d recently found out that imagining Dina naked calmed him down faster than any chant or charm. Her round curves, her firm ass, and soft breasts. Fresh from the shower, you could see her hardened nipples through the soft fabric of her tank top, which acted like a second skin against her curves, leaving just enough for the imagination to run wild. Wondering what it would feel like skimming my hands over her soft skin, didn't just calm my wolf. It sat my blood on fire and I itched to feel her beneath me. To see if I'd imagined those sparks I'd felt yesterday and to finally know, what she sounded like, breathless and moaning in pleasure. And---
And I was going to need that cold shower now!
My erect shaft was throbbing painfully against my jeans, begging to be released. I grunted in frustration but could feel my wolf grin at my misery.
Well, fuck this!
I pulled out my phone and started texting Laurel. I needed a shag. Or a blow job. Whatever got the job done fast, so I could go back to doing some actual work. My wolf wasn't pleased about the idea. He wanted the maid and no matter how much I tried to tell him that it wouldn't be happening, the beast was primal in his way of thinking. He wanted what he wanted and didn't care about anything else.
Just as I was about to press send, there was a knock on the door. I cursed under my breath, but put the phone away and tried to readjust my position, hoping to get more comfortable, before telling Mick to enter.
“Any news?” I asked, without looking up and at least pretending to be doing some actual work. But the second he walked in, her scent hit me like a ton of bricks and I had to fight my wolf for control again. My wolf wanted to go over there and rip our brother apart for having touched what belonged to him. And I couldn't change his mind no matter what I did or said. So what if Mick and Dina were together? He deserved someone who could make him happy; someone who would look past his title and past. Dina was definitely the type of person who wouldn't mate my brother for his position. I should be happy for him.
My wolf disagreed…
“There are more rogues now than there have been in this area since--- EVER!” Mick summed up the report before handing it over, his brows creased in a worried frown. With a frown, I took the file and looked it over. Finally, my wolf stopped fighting and paid attention. The rouges were grouped together and while it didn't seem like they were about to attack, they wanted permission to join the pack or at least pay for pack protection. According to them, vampires were hunting them down. My stomach knotted just seeing the word on paper and my wolf growled low. Pain mixed with the memories of the past and I had to dig deep for peace this time...
Vampires were our natural enemies. Even after the entry of the modern age, the fight for power hadn’t stopped between the two races. We weren’t fighting on a battlefield anymore; instead, we battled in the financial sector. The one with the most power and resources was the one who came out victorious. This was why some areas were controlled by vampires while others were controlled by werewolves. In some odd places, there would be a witches' coven in power, but the two main powers were the werewolves and vampires.
So why were they here?
I remembered that we'd captured a vampire lurking around our territory not so long ago. He'd left us with only a name.
Ridley!
As in Dina and Dylan Ridley. And unfortunately, I’d killed him before we could get more out of him. Or more specifically, my wolf killed him the second the name rolled off his filthy tongue, so I didn't know which one of the siblings he was gunning for. My wolf scoffed a halfhearted apology before we went back to the issue at hand.
Why would vampires be looking for Dylan or Dina? And why would they target rogues? Sure, rogues didn't have the most amazing reputation, but even they hated vampires more than other wolves. One of the first things I learned about being alpha, is that to win a fight, you need to understand the enemy's objective. Know why they fight and what their goal is. I became alpha to protect the people I loved.
My family...
So, who would be willing to go through so much trouble to get one seemingly ordinary werewolf girl? Or were they looking for her brother? What had he done to earn this much attention? And would they try to get to her, to get to him?
My wolf snarled, baring his teeth at anyone who dared to harm her.
“You really think they’re after her?” Mick asked, voicing the same things I’d been wondering about. His phone bibbed and he quickly answered the text, which only annoyed me when I saw him smiling stupidly.
Was that her?
Why would she text him and not me?
“It's possible,” I muttered, quickly pulling my thoughts away from Mick and trying to stay on track. Perhaps I should go through Ridley's parent’s file again? There could be something there that I missed. Perhaps they made some enemies? They were exceptionally good trackers, both of them and my predecessor had used them frequently to track down and eliminate any threat to the pack. Perhaps they killed someone they shouldn't have? And then there was the fact that Francis Ridley, their mother, wasn’t originally from this pack. She was a rogue, who was accepted into the pack because she mated a pack member. Could that be a reason?
Levi's POV“Her brother?” Mick asked again, just as he got another text.My wolf growled.“That wouldn't surprise me,” I shrugged, trying not to let him see me gritting my teeth. Dylan’s two weeks had long since passed and just as Dina predicted, he didn’t show up. And none of my trackers were able to find even a shred of evidence that he was still alive. Not that I minded. I liked having his sister as a maid. And that wasn’t going to change any time soon. One, because if she was a target, I could keep her safe by keeping her close by. And second, the second Dylan stepped foot back into my territory, I was going to kill him for what he'd done to his sister. My wolf growled in agreement. What kind of man hits a woman?!And his younger sister at that? He was supposed to take care of her but instead---“Have you tried asking her? Perhaps she knows something?” Mick suggested
Dina’s POV“You and Michael?” I exclaimed, while my best friend was giggling like a hyena. My jaw was still located on the floor somewhere, as my best friend delivered the news of the century. I mean, sure, I knew they were dating. The guy had practically moved onto campus since I gave him her number and he was always with her whenever I was around. Like, literally, I saw him more than I saw the alpha. They spent every waking moment together and I could see how much she cared about him. Hell, she was falling for him faster than I usually cheated on my diet. But going from that to---MATES!Apparently, Michael had asked her to be his mate and she’d said yes. After less than two months of dating. That was a big step for wolves - really BIG! Bigger than getting married for humans. Luckily for werewolves, commitment really wasn’t a problem. We were social animals, more than humans ever could understand
Dina's POVMy heart dropped to the pit of my guts and suddenly I felt like throwing up. I hadn’t seen him in over two weeks and, honestly, I could do for another year without seeing his sorry ass.“What do you want?” I asked harshly while trying to fight every instinct in my body that screamed bloody murder. I was terrified but I refused to let fear control me. Not that anyone could blame me - I think. The last time I saw him, he’d tried to rape me. I wanted to move closer to Rita, but instead, I stood tall, glaring at him with everything I had. I was not going to let him see how he’d hurt me. I would never give him, Dylan, or any other man out there the pleasure of thinking they broke me.I would never give in…“I just---wanted to---,” he stuttered and nervously scratched the back of his neck. That was when I noticed that he looked like someone had used him as a chew toy and his skin looke
Levi’s POVI hate negotiating treaties! It’s not like the Black Lunar Pack needed them. My pack was strong in itself and I really didn’t get the point of “exchanging training techniques”. I didn’t need their stupid fighters to teach my pack anything! The Black Lunar Pack didn’t need anyone else! But I wasn’t stupid.I knew that alliance meant no fighting and no fighting meant no wars or hostile takeovers. Levi's POVWe ran towards our borders and within seconds he picked up a couple of rogues. He quickly turned his anger on them and hunted them down. I didn’t even try to hold him back. Hell, I couldn't even if I wanted to. In his blood-lusted state, there was nothing I could do to control him. He tore through them like a savage animal, but once he was done, he’d finally calmed down enough for me to take over and shifted back.We were quiet for a moment.Usually, when my wolf went on a rampage like this one, I would give him hell after. I hated him for being the monster he was, but---Not tonight…Tonight this was on me just as much as him. I hadn't even tried to fight him but had relished the release of his outrage. Because no matter what, I'd felt every bit as angry, frustrated, and scared as he was. I didn't understand it. And part of me feared that more than anything...I waited until my breathi
Dina’s POV“Wake up!”I jumped up, ready to fight for my life as the loud voice boomed off the walls of my bedroom. But my feet got tangled in the sheets and I face-planted the floor. I groaned and rubbed my throbbing nose. Damn! Thank the goddess for werewolf healing. Otherwise, I was sure I would be needing a nose job.“DINA!” the voice called again, annoyance clear in his tone now, and just like that, two strong arms grabbed me and hauled me off the floor. “Stop messing around and get up!”“Wha----?!” I muttered, still half asleep and trying to get a grasp on what was going on around me. Finally, I managed to turn around and mentally let out another groan as I finally recognized who the voice belonged to. It was my older brother – and mock guardian – Dylan. He was running around in the dark, grabbing whatever he could get his hands on and stuffing it into a bag. Now, normal people might become slightly freaked out by the sight of their brother stealing anything and everything with
Dina’s POVApparently, Dylan knew where we were going, because I didn’t recognize anything anymore. Now, we weren’t exactly a traditional pack. Our territory had over time merged with a city nearby, mixing the werewolves and humans to some extent. Wolves could, if they chose to, live in the city and still be part of the pack or live in the suburbs. That’s the fancy word we used for the parallel were-society, that was scattered across the territory. The Pack land was so vast, that several of the werewolf settlements had their own zip code and even different dialects. They were mostly run by Gammas or Deltas, who then answered to the Alpha and Beta. And while the Alpha ruled the pack, all the land was private property, making shifting a whole lot easier without having to risk exposure.About an hour out of the city, deep into the forest and on more private property, was the Packhouse, the alpha’s house, and a few other homes for the top wolves and their families. The packhouse once serv
Dina’s POVOh, my goddess!I thought as I replayed the conversation in my head over and over. I had to have heard that wrong! There was no way my brother was going to agree to make me the alpha’s maid!Right?!But then I mentally groaned because I realized--- This was Dylan we were talking about. Anything was possible…“But what about me?” Dylan whined and, with a mental sigh, I chided myself for even thinking that he might be worried about leaving ME behind. In Dylan’s mind, nothing was more important than Dylan.“I told you, I---”But then he was cut off by a terrifying, low growl. And while I wasn’t the one facing off against the alpha, the menace in that growl was enough to make my skin want to crawl off and hide. The alpha said something after that, too low for even me to hear, but I guessed Dylan agreed. Because the next thing I knew the kitchen door opened, and the two men came over to me. In fact, the alpha didn’t stop, until he was standing a mere foot away from me. My heart

And while I was the alpha in this situation and had several inches on the raven-haired beauty, I felt about an inch tall all of a sudden.“I was trying to cheer you up,” I confessed, not feeling at all too alpha-ly right then. And all because of a she-wolf? And no comments from my wolf?! Other than the huge grin on his face, hoping she’d been dreaming about us?What was wrong with that dog lately?!“Comparing your morning wood with a girl's wet dream, isn’t cheering her up,” Dina s
Levi’s POVI shut off the alarm but remained in bed for some reason. Usually, my wolf wasn’t a morning wolf--- or ‘any time of day’-wolf actually. And I’d even slept well.I felt amazing! And it worried me.Was my wolf planning something?I took a deep breath and let my mind wander…I lost control of my wolf yesterday. Hell, I hadn't even killed the fucker who'd attacked her. Instead, my wolf had been focused on her. I'd seen the way she gasped for air and I r
Dina’s POV“Dina!”I turned around and saw Alpha Stone leaning against the doorway to his office. The white tee clung to his body perfectly, and his jeans hung loosely around his hips.Goddess, he looked heavenly…“Yes, alpha?” I replied and tried to stop myself from ogling him. But my wolf kept encouraging me to eye-rape our alpha, which made that mission rather impossible. He looked so---He didn’t reply but motioned for me to follow him into his office. But instead of sitting down, he stood by his desk with that irresistible smirk of his. For a second, I wondered if I was in some kind of trouble – or if he’d changed his mind about last night and had decided to punish me. However, to my surprise, he pointed to the artwork I’d made on his wall.It was a small collection of stick figures gathered around a lake, that was the huge patch. On the patch were du
