Today is the day. After all that happened, today is the day I finally get to officially come back to work. It has been long overdue, after a series of different events—horrible. But that was in the past; now I am finally resuming, and I couldn't be any happier.

I was getting ready, trying to fit into my red dress. I really need to go shopping. I was humming a popular song that has been in the air lately while struggling with my clothes. The youths have been blasting it so much that it has stuck to my brain, and I can't seem to get it out of my mouth. Although I don't know the lyrics. I am horrible at learning song lyrics, so I just resort to humming. You can't go wrong with a hum.

Richard was in the closet, picking out his outfit for the day. I heard a thump, and a curse followed. I shook my head; it was just a typical Monday. I trembled as I felt sparks on my waist as his huge arms wrapped around me, "What got you so excited like this? I would like to believe that I am the one that

    While I missed working at the hospital a lot, I was soon quick to learn that I wasn't ready for the barrage of work that comes with it. It was one thing I definitely didn't miss. The neighboring pack had some issues, and their hospital is still under construction, so they sent most of their cases here, so it was hectic. What shocked me more was that Richard agreed. It is no rumor that there has been a long-standing issue between the two packs, so they don't see eye to eye. It had been a long war that began with their forefathers, and I doubt it will end anytime soon. But it is in our nature not to forsake those in need, hence his agreement. I was in my office resting after helping deliver a pup. I turn off the air vent that I had specially installed for me. I don't know if it was because today was my first day in a long while, but I get so tired easily. I've been sleeping for more than a month and have become sluggish. I sighed as I removed my shoes and massaged my sore toes. I wou

    I got back from work, ate, and washed up before going to meet up with Ava. She had pretty much planned everything, and I had little to contribute. But I must give it to her; she is great at all these things. We informed the necessary people involved in the planning, and preparation was in place. It was going to be held on Friday since she would be leaving on Sunday. The days seem to drag slowly, and I am grateful for that. all the more reasons to be with Jessica. She and Ava have been a great support system since I came here, and I am eternally grateful. There is no doubt that I am going to miss that little spitfire. Richard, on the other hand, has been in a bit of a mood lately as the time for her departure draws near. Her twin, Jesse, was the worst hit. I haven't seen him since it was confirmed she was going with her mate. He had known the longest, but it would still hit him hard since they had always been together. Jesse was yet to get his mate, so it was also a soft spot for h

    "Hey daddy." I found myself drunkenly dialing Richard's number before I could think of it. "Isabella. Where are you guys from? It is almost time." His worried voice sounded through the mouthpiece. I giggled. "Don't you remember? We are here to have a good time, and shh, don't interrupt. I am talking." He chuckled, "Alright, my lady, go on." "Do you want to see me twerk?" "That is such a random question." "Just answer the damn question, Richard. Do you want to see me twerk?" "Yes, I would love to see my baby twerk." I giggled again. Has his voice always sounded so nice? "You could even twerk personally for me and on me." I laughed out loud, "You naughty, naughty daddy! I could send you a video here right now of me twerking." "Yes girl. Twerk! Twerk! Twerk!" The girls began to chant. I had put the call on loud speakers. "Isn't that Ava and Jessica's voice I am hearing? Are you guys drunk?" Even from the speaker, I couldn't help but shiver when I heard his angry tone. "Shh, don

    It was safe to say that we both missed out on the whole party. It was alright though, since we were having our own special party in the room, so I believe it would be forgiven.I woke up smiling and feeling satisfied, and I strolled down to the common area. You could imagine my surprise when I couldn't find any trace of last night. All traces of yesterday's event had been cleared; it was as if there hadn't been any party at all.Rchard had left early today since he still had a lot to do. It was a Saturday, which means it was a free day for me, so I went to the kitchen to get cereal. A ping went off on my phone, and it was a text from Jessica saying that she would talk to her twin today. I stood in the common area for a while, watching people go. It was a weekend, so the place was scanty, as many of them were still in bed. I went to one of the chairs there and sat down, trying to think of what to do. I could either go workout or I could go and help Richard. Better still, I could just

    "Richard!" I exclaimed, surprised to see him here. "Why are you here?" "Rumour had it that a fight was insured between the Luna and a warrior, but I couldn't feel any pain from you, so I decided to come and investigate it for myself." "It is nothing to worry about; I was just taking care of a mistake." The warrior, whose name I still don't know, whimpered. "Elijah?" "Yes Alpha." So that was the name of the retard. It is a pity; it was such a fine name, but he may not live long enough to enjoy it. "Did you attempt to fight with your Luna?" He asked. I scoffed, like he could try it. "No, Alpha. I would never do that." "Then tell me what the hell is going on here!" He thundered. I heard a whimper from behind me coming from the omega, and I held Richard's hand. Calm down; I will tell you all that happened later. For now, let us just leave this vicinity; otherwise, I will keep getting angry. I told him through the mind link. He let him lead him outside, but not before giving Eli

    We allowed the dust from Jessica's travels to settle before calling for a general pack meeting the following week. Richard had decided to fix up a meeting with the pack, and the meeting will decide Elijah's fate. Darla's mate had finally returned from her journey, and when she heard the news from her mate, she was outraged. It took everything in Darla to hold her down and prevent her from marching up to the man and tearing him into unrecognizable pieces. The meeting was scheduled in the pack's hall, and attendance was compulsory, except for minors and the elderly. The sun was high in the sky as we made our way to the hall. Today will determine the fate of Elijah. The pack hall was a gigantic building just beside the pack house. It was used for social gatherings, events, and meetings. Although meetings were rarely held there, whatever wanted to be passed across was usually communicated through the pack link. So moments like these were held once in a while and only on very serious occ

    I straightened my shoulders as I got down from the podium with my head raised in pride. I glided through the stage and made my way straight to Richard. His eyes were watching me with intent, the sparkling orbs burning a hole through my skin. From afar, I could see his eyes were twinkling even in the bright sunlight, beaming with pride. He gave me a little nod of approval as I approached him. "You did very well up there." His deep voice boomed through the mind link, messing with my thoughts for a while. His voice was distracting enough that I had to hold still for a while to recall what he said. I felt myself standing up straighter, in respect to the compliment; Kiayra was practically purring and drooling—I mean, when is she ever not? "Indeed, you are fit to be the Luna; the way you were up there. You were taking charge and looking so dangerously beautiful doing so, dressed in all that leather. Richard Junior had no choice but to stand to attention." The corner of my mouth turned up;

    We put our clothes back on and hurried out, closing the door. We were so busy uniting as one that we had lost track of time, and the sun was already setting. We began what I should call the walk of shame, although Richard didn't look one bit like he was ashamed. He was whistling a tuneless song happily as he held my hands while we walked down the path leading to the pack house. Occasionally, he would pause his whistling to reply to greetings from pack members before he resumed again with greater vigor. I could see people staring at us with amusement, and I could imagine what they were seeing. I mean, we looked and smelled like we had just had mad sex. Thank goddess for the jacket I had on that covered my body, which was littered with bite marks. Richard was beside me, walking with a proud smile, until we got to the pack house. It was a Saturday, so I had nothing to do. Richard had gotten dressed and left with Ian, as they had something to do out of town, so I was left on my own. I

    My hands were drumming on the table as the lady kept talking, and I tried to tune her out. No matter how hard I tried to concentrate on the meeting, my mind kept jumping to the children I left in the room. I had told Jesse to watch them, but I know he will be of no help. I was particularly worried about Jasmine, the oldest of my twins. She is known to be fearless and has a knack for inviting trouble, even though she just barely clocked 5. Her twin brother, Jason, was equally troublesome, but he was easier to control than his sister. When will this damn meeting be over? This was something I never got used to—sitting down for hours and hearing people talk. Richard noticed my attitude and smirked, "Feeling bored?" He asked me through the link. "You can say that again. I am just worried about the twins. You know what Jasmine can be like." It didn't help that I had a nagging feeling that something was wrong. "Relax. Don't worry, they are in safe hands. My brother is watching over them.

    "Alright, the bad news. Your mom is suffering from a stroke." Richard's face crumbled as he heard it. I held him, trying to comfort him in the best way I knew how. "But we are werewolves, Gamgam; we don't suffer illness." He tried to argue. "Yes I know, which is why it is rare. But your mother has been without a mate for a while, and it is affecting her. She is slowly deteriorating." "And the good news?" He asked, trying to gain hope. "The good news is that the operation was successful. We were extremely lucky that we got to her on time. She should be waking up soon." We all collectively heaved a sigh of relief. I could feel Richard untensing at her words. "Thank you so much, Gamgam. I am really grateful for everything." "It is alright." "She is also like a daughter to me, and I wouldn't want anything to happen to her." Just then a male doctor and some nurses came outside. "This is Alexander. He was the head surgeon in charge of her operation, and he in fact needs to be praised.

    I woke up with a splitting headache—now that I think of it, I am always waking up with a splitting headache. Anyways, I rub my hands over my sleepy eyes, trying to clear the sleep. Looking around, the sheets have been thrown on the floor during our steamy session. The bed was unmade and rough, and Richard was sleeping on it like that, eagle-spread and snoring. I frowned as the noise got to my ears. Reaching over, I pinched his nose tight, and it was able to control it.I looked around, trying to get my clothes. The red and white furniture is a stark contrast to our black furniture, which reminded me that this was not our room. But that begs me to ask the question, "Where were we?"But before I troubled myself with that piece of information, Richard would know best how to answer it. I need to look for my phone; if I could remember, someone was trying to reach me yesterday. But Richard collected my phone and switched it off.I shuffled to the edge of the bed and placed my legs gingerly

    It has been a hassle trying to get Richard to leave the venue. He had gotten power drunk and was crazy about winning. Soon the locals found out that they were never going to beat him, so they got tired, and no one was in the mood to compete again. He looked around, searching for new competitors, but no one was willing to wrestle with the new person. "I see y'all are getting tired of being beaten at your game. But I get it, and I will go. Let me just get my money." Someone directed him to where all his earnings from the game have been stacked. We went over there, and bundles of 10-pound notes were stacked high on the table. "What are you going to do with all that money?" I asked him through the link."Hmm, I don't know. Probably convert it to the pack's fund?" I dug my elbows into his ribs, and he looked at me quizzically, "You know you can't do that. You will be ripping them off of their hard-earned money, and goddess knows they need it. Besides, I have seen the pack's account, and I

    The sun had begun to set on the horizon, and darkness was slowly creeping into the place. But that was when the main show was getting started. According to Richard, I was going to experience the Southampton nightlife. The first place we visited was the Duke of Wellington, commonly known as "the Duke of Boots" by locals. The name was given after its namesake’s famous victory at the Battle of Waterloo. It was a formidable timber-framed building with colorful hanging baskets that greeted our arrival. We were led upstairs to the rooftop. It had a section for the bar and for the restaurant. We got seated in one of the chairs, and I got comfortable. I looked beyond the horizon, watching as the night was taken up by the stars and beautiful street lights. I looked up to see the moonlight shining down on us. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the night breeze. "Enjoying the view?" Richard whispered into my ears, and I nodded. "Yeah, it is beautiful. Thank you for today." He gazed at me, his dark

    The date hasn't even begun, but overall, I was loving it. My skin was glowing after hours of pampering and care. My nails were on fleek, and even my hair was flawless. Apparently Richard told them to get a hair stylist for me because he wants me to look my best. Like can I love this man even more? He was just too sweet.I was heading towards the inner room to go get my clothes when the head of the spa handed me a bag and said it was from Richard, and she was gone like a flash. I looked at the corner where she had disappeared, wondering why she had given me a bag.I peered into the bag, and I could see black wrap. I was skeptical about it, but since it was from Richard, I trusted that it would be something good. Today has been full of surprises, and I wonder what he had planned. I went to the changing room and brought out the items from the bag, and my hunch was correct. It was new clothes.I tore the wrapper off the clothes in a hurry, my heart pounding within my ribcage, wondering

    A date is exactly what I need now. I can't remember the last time we went on a date. As I tried to think of the last time, I was reminded of the first one we went to. It was unarguably my best date ever; not like I have ever had any before that. But he was a total gentleman there, and it was one of the reasons I started falling for him. I wonder where we will be going this time around. Just the thought of it was making me feel giddy. With our busy schedules, we barely had time for ourselves, so I am willing to take this opportunity and enjoy it to the fullest. We took a quick bath together; Richard wanted us to be out of here before he starts getting calls. Otherwise, we may be unable to go after all. "Where are we going to?" I asked him as we were getting dressed. He had been tight-lipped since, probably not wanting to spill. "I don't know, just get dressed; you will know when we get there." "That is the thing; I don't know what to wear. I need to know exactly where we are going

    Richard opened the door, and the stench of alcohol hit me hard. I froze, my sensitive nose wrinkling at the smell of the fermented drink. I glared at him, my mouth pressing into a line. I was pissed at the fact that he left without telling me, making me worried, only to come back drunk. "Take care of him." Someone slurred, and I turned to look at who had brought him; it was his Beta and he also reeked of alcohol. "Ian, wait," but he was already off, staggering to his room while holding the wall for support. I was left alone with Richard, so I moved closer to hold and steady him. He was so drunk that he couldn't stand well. My ear pricked when I heard a loud crash on the floor. "Fucking floor, can you just be straight for a minute?!" He cursed at the ground. I was going to help him up when he called out, "I'm okie dokie; don't worry, Luna." I looked at the corridor, and it seems like he got it under control. He had picked himself up and was staggering back to his room. I shook my h

    "What was the meaning of that, eh?" I questioned him as soon as we got back home. "The meaning of what?" He asked, like he didn't know what he just did. The urge to roll my eyes at him was so strong that I had to resist it. "The meaning of what happened back there with Harry." "Oh, that? That was nothing." He replied nonchalantly. "Why did you grip my waist tighter when he was around?" "Do I have any reason not to do so?" He replied offhandedly while unbuttoning his shirt. "You are my mate, and I can do whatever I want with you." "I know, Richard, but that is beside the point. You were trying to rile him and make him feel jealous." I argued further. "And so what if I did? Why does it bother you?" "It doesn't bother me, but you have to take into account that he doesn't have a mate, and you are rubbing that fact in his face." He sighed, pausing what he was doing, "drop it, Isabella; it is beginning to sound like you care about him." "What is that supposed to mean, he is my frie
