Ninety Nine

HIS MOTHER

“Oh, no. I mean yes, yeah… I like it actually.” My smile widened. When her bright aqua eyes met mine again.

“Yeah, I kinda like it too.” I admitted.

Things seemed to get awkward for her as the conversation between us slowed to a standstill. We were still holding hands though. Demi started looking around like she was trying to find something to talk about. She’s so damn cute. I decided to help her feel a little more comfortable and tugged at her hand so that she followed me toward a nearby swing. I held the swing still so she could sit first then I found my place next to her. Slowly we rocked back and forth, our hands still interlaced together. I don’t know why I didn’t want to let go, but all I wanted was this contact with her. I caressed the back of her hand with my thumb. She loosened her grip, and I did the same.
