Lillian was playing around her late grandma’s house. Her grandmother had just passed away, but she wasn’t upset because she never knew her that well. Her parents were inside with all the other guests.
Her grandmother’s house was near the forest. It was a peaceful place to live in.
“Lillian!” her father called.
She turned around and ran towards him. Her father smiled as he picked her up.
“What was my princess doing?” He asked her.
“Playing with the plants.” She said.
“Really? Are you having fun?” He asked.
She nodded.
Her father, Liam, carried her to the grass and sat down on it, putting his daughter on his lap.
“Daddy.” She called.
“Yes, princess?”
“Why is everyone wearing black dresses?” she asked.
“Hmmm…” he looked up, “When someone falls asleep for eternity and will not wake up, then people come to see that person wearing a black dress as a sign of respect.”
“What’s eternity?” she asked
“Eternity is something that lasts forever.” He told her.
“Like mommy’s and daddy’s love?” she asked.
“Ooooo, my princess is quite smart. Yes, just like mommy’s and daddy’s love for you.” He smiled.
She smiled back.
“But why do people wear black? Why can’t they wear colors like pink or red?” She asked.
“Because wearing black is a tradition.” He told her.
“What’s a tradition?” she asked, frowning.
“It’s something that has been passed down to family after family for a very long time.” He told her.
“Oh.” She said.
“Done with all your questions?” He asked.
“Nope.” She said.
“Oh? What else do you want to know about?”
“What’s a grandma?” she asked.
“A grandma is a mother’s or a father’s mother.”
“You have a mommy and daddy, too.” She asked with wide eyes.
He laughed at his daughter’s reaction.
“Of course, I do. How do think I was born?” he asked.
“I thought mommy made you too. Like how she made me.” She told him.
Her father burst into laughter.
“It doesn’t work that way, sweety.” He said, still laughing a little.
“What’s so funny?” she asked, confused.
“Nothing sweety. You’ll understand when you’re older.”
“Ok. Then who’s mommy was grandma?” she asked him.
“Your mother’s.” He told her.
“So why didn’t mommy even visited grandma when she wasn’t sleeping?” she asked him with a frown.
He sighed.
“Your mommy didn’t have wonderful parents.” He told her.
“Were they mean to her?” she asked her father, looking at him.
“It’s complicated sweety. I’ll tell you when you’re older.” He told her.
“Okay. What about your mommy and daddy?” she asked.
“I don’t know who my mommy and daddy are.” He told her.
“Why not?” she asked.
“Okay, enough questions, little miss. The stories you’re asking for are not happy ones. You should only hear and see good and pretty things when you are young. I’ll tell you the sad stories when you are older.”
“Pinky promise?” she took out her pinky finger.
“Pinky promise.” He said and intertwined his pinky finger with hers.
“I have to go back now. You think you’ll be okay here, or do you want to go inside?” He asked.
“I’m going to play here.” She said.
“Okay.” He kissed her forehead, “But don’t go to the forest, it’s dangerous there.”
“Okay.” she said and got up.
She kept playing around and looked at the flowers while everyone was inside the house, mourning the dead.
From the corner of her eyes, she saw something white move in the forest. She looked towards the forest and saw a huge white wolf. It was an exquisite wolf.
The wolf caught Lillian looking at him. He turned his head and went back into the forest.
“Wow. What a big doggy.” She said in surprise and slowly walked towards the forest, forgetting her father’s warning.
Standing in front of the forest, she called for the wolf.
“Big white doggy!” she called him several, but he never came.
“Oh no, what if it’s lost in there?” she asked out loud, feeling worried.
She walked into the forest. She kept calling for the wolf. After a few minutes, she heard a howl. She walked towards the sound and found the wolf on the edge of the cliff. He sat there and howled.
The white wolf suddenly stopped as the wind blew. He smelled an irresistible scent. He felt as all his body was going through something unexplainable. All his senses were heightened and his body was on full alert. It was the same smell that had led him out of the forest, but he couldn’t go beyond that because there was a large group of humans were nearby.
He looked around for the source of this scent, so he turned around and saw Lillian there. He moved his head to the side, confused.
‘This human child… did she follow me here?’ The wolf said in his head.
Then suddenly, his eyes widened as another wave of wind blew.
‘It’s her. She is the reason I feel like this.’
He stood up and slowly moving towards her as he did not want to scare her. He sat in front of her and inhaled her scent and was even more sure it was her.
“Such a big doggy.” She said, mesmerized by his size.
The wolf made an annoyed expression.
‘This human child called me a dog. Such an insult. This human child needs training.’
“And the hair is so beautiful. It looks like the snow.” She said.
The wolf stood up proudly.
‘She has a good eye.’
Lillian moved closer to him. He lowered his head to her. Her scent became even stronger as she got near.
“Good doggy.” She said and patted his head.
His ears moved back, and his eyes widened as he left the tingles and sparks under her touch.
She laughed.
He suddenly started to feel emotions that were not his as he felt the happiness, thrill, and the excitement. He realized that these were her emotions.
‘It’s her. My mate. It’s this human child.’ He said in his head, shocked with realization.
A white wolf was resting her head on her paws with her eyes closed. Her ears twitched when she heard a howl. She raised her head and moved her ears in the direction of the howl. She sighed as she got up. “Always calling when I’m resting.” She complained. She stretched and moved in the direction of the howl. She slowly picked her pace until she was running through the forest. “Freya!” someone called to her. She turned her head and saw a chocolate brown colored wolf running a little further away from her. It was her best friend, Karlie. “Why do you think Alpha is calling us?” She asked Freya while running. They were communicating with through mind link. “Don’t know. We’ll find out when we get there.” She told her. Freya heard someone else running on her other side. “Ladies.” A red wolf greeted them. “Randall. Looking as sharp as always.” Karlie said. The red wolf flashed a smile. “Last one
Everyone’s eyes were on Lillian. She felt nervous. She moved closer to Ryan’s ear. “Are they going to eat me?” She whispered. Ryan looked at her, amused, and licked the side of her face. He grinned. ‘Well, you do taste good.’ Karlie and Randall laughed secretly, apparently hearing his thoughts. “Yuck… I’m going to bring a toothbrush and toothpaste tomorrow. Your mouth stinks.” She said and made a disgusted face. This time Freya also laughed while her brother looked annoyed. ‘Looks like we have someone else to keep you annoyed.’ Freya grinned. ‘Are you asking for a fight?’ Ryan asked, annoyed. ‘No. I wouldn’t want your stinky breath on me.’ She snickered. ‘I am your Alpha.’ He warned. ‘But you are my stupid brother first.’ He told him and stuck her tongue out at him. Ryan groaned, annoyed at his little sister. “It’s getting late. I should go home.” Lillian said, looking at the sky
Ryan went to his house and laid down on the ground kept thinking about Lillian. He smiled, thinking about her, but then his smile faded as he thought about the fight with Shadow. ‘Do I have to make a choice?’ he asked himself, not wanting to make a choice between his pack and Luna. He heard soft paws approaching towards him. He raised his head to see who it was and saw the elder wolf, Esmeralda. He bowed her head in respect. “Elder wolf.” He greeted her. “At ease, Alpha.” She told him. He stood up straight and looked at her. “What brings you here, elder wolf?” he asked her. “I have seen that you met your Luna.” She told him. Esmeralda had the power to see the future, and that is one of the reasons she was made the elder wolf. She was a wise and a kind wolf. She was also his aunt, and he respected her deeply. “Yes.” He answered. “And she is human?” she asked him. “Yes.” He answered with a
Ryan heard someone yelling in the distance and looked in that direction. He felt Lillian was extremely sad. He wondered if it had something to do with the yelling. Just then Randall came running towards him. “Lillian ran away from her father and ended up running to Shadow’s territory!” Randall told him through mind link. His heart started pounding hard with fear. He howled to gather the elite wolfs. “What now?” Freya asked in an annoyed, sleepy tone. “Our Luna ran to Shadow’s territory.” Randall told her. “What?” she asked in shock. “I’m coming!” In a few seconds, Freya and Karlie were standing in front of them. “What happened?” Freya asked him worriedly. “We don’t know. I only saw her running to Shadow’s territory.” Randall told them. “What do we do?” Karlie asked worriedly. Everyone looked at Ryan for his instructions. Ryan was having trouble deciding what he should do. If he provoked the Midni
Ryan waited just outside Shadow’s territory. He was on high alert and looking at the other wolves in front of him very carefully. “Where is your Alpha?” Ryan asked Blake. “He is on his way here.” He told him with a smirk. “Where’s the girl?” Ryan asked him with a snarl. “What girl?” Blake asked, pretending to play dumb. “Do not test my patience!” He growled at him. “And what if we do?” Shadow asked, coming into view. “I’m here for my Luna, Shadow. She’s just a child and has no part in this.” He told her. “Your Luna?” he asked amused and laughed at him. “She is not your Luna, she is mine. Unless you’re saying that she can have two wolf mates.” Ryan looked at her in utter shock. It was not possible. A wolf couldn’t possibly have two mates, let alone a human. It was unheard of
Everyone looked at her in shock. “How?” Shadow asked her. Esmeralda shook his head at him and looked at Lillian. She then looked at them. “Let us talk outside.” She told them and walked out. The rest followed her to Ryan’s house except for Freya, who stayed behind to look after Lillian and Liam. Just outside, Shadow stopped Blake and told him to guard and keep guard outside. “Now tell us what you saw. Why is she dying?” Ryan asked her in a desperate and worried tone. “It’s not her who is dying. But there is death surrounding her.” She told him. “Meaning that people around her die?” he asked her. “Yes.” She answered. “Is she cursed?” Shadow asked, coming forward. “Yes, and no. It’s a tough question.” She told him.
Freya took Lillian outside while Ryan and Esmeralda talked with her father. “Would you like something to eat or drink?” Esmeralda asked Liam with the warmest smile. “Umm, water. Thank you.” He told her there was still some fear in his tone. Ryan went to the other room and when he came back, he was in his human form, fully clothed and was holding a glass of water. Liam recognized him at once because he had shifted in front of him in the forest earlier. He walked closer to Liam and handed it to him. Liam took the glass with shaking hands. His hands were shaking so badly that water was splashing out of the glass. “You are still freaked out.” Ryan told him. “Who? Me? No, I’m not freaking out. You’re freaking out.” He just said without even thinking or realizing what he was saying. “You are freaking out.” Esmeralda told him and nodded once at him.
When Liam and Lillian got home, he saw his wife walking back and forth on the porch worriedly.Hannah saw him coming towards her, with Lillian sleeping against him. She finally took a breath of relief.“Where were you?” She hissed at him quietly.“I’ll explain later.” He whispered to her and went inside. She followed him into Lillian’s bedroom. When he put her down, Hannah caressed her head and kissed her forehead. Then she grabbed her husband’s arm and pulled him to the kitchen and glared at him.“Do you have any idea how worried I was?” she asked him angrily in a low tone.He grabbed her shoulders and looked at her apologetically.“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you or make you feel worried.” He kissed her forehead. “Did you have dinner?” he asked her.“No. I didn’t make anything because I was worried sick about you two.&r
`~1000 Years Later~The world wasn’t the way it was anymore. Technology had advanced and new species were discovered on multiple planets.Everything had changed in the universe except for his love for her.“Mr. King, the spaceship to earth is ready.” His secretary told him.Zack waved his hands dismissively.Everyone he knew had died or left him. His father died from poisoning. Lillian and Shadow died from old age, and Olivia never showed herself to him.Lillian was right. He would regret the day his father would die, and he did. Because of that day, he couldn’t make it to his father in time. He could only hold his lifeless body and cry.Years ago, he told Olivia not to heal him and let him be because that was his punishment, but she wouldn’t let him be and in the end saved him from death and that was how he was alive today.Zack got up from his seat and walked out of his office. He took the spaceship back to his home. When they got back, his secretary offered to drive him home, but h
Blake aimed at her head and pulled the trigger. The bullet hit her head and bounced off because of her dragon scale. She got up angrily and looked at him with a deadly expression.“You’re forgetting something. Dragon scales aren’t easy to pierce.” She told him with a growl. He knew that he would certainly be in trouble if she caught her, so he ran away, but Lillian wasn’t going to let him escape this time. She took out her wings and chased him in the air.Zack grabbed her phone and quickly sent Olivia their location because he feared that the way Lillian was angry she was bound to do something that she was going to regret.Blake was just in front of the staircase when she pushed him as hard as she could. He fell down the stairs and landed at the bottom, groaning in pain.“What you did to all of us, I will make you pay in full.” She told him with hatred, landing in front of him.“You don’t have the guts to kill me.” Blake told her, getting up.Lillian pulled her leg and kicked him so h
“What?!” Zack asked in shock, getting up. He gripped the phone in his hand.“It seemed like he had drunk some vampire blood.” Max told him.“How?” Zack asked in a more composed tone.“We don’t know for sure, but we… found dragon scales in his room. I suspect that the dragon might have come back for revenge.” Max told him.Zack looked at Lillian. She raised her eyebrow at him.“The same mistake was made last time. Don’t repeat it again.” Zack told him.“But young ma-.”“But, nothing. Do you understand me? And you will not take any actions without my approval. Do you understand me?” Zack told him in a cold, hard tone.“Yes, young master.” Max told him.“I’ll be there in a few minutes.” Zack told him and ended the call.“What happened?” she asked him, seeing the worry in his eyes.“... Someone has poisoned the vampire king like my mother.” he told her.“How?” she asked him, getting up and ignoring the fact that he just referred his father as the vampire King.“I don’t know. All I was tol
Lillian drove to the villa in her car and after driving for a few hours, she finally reached it. She got out and looked around. She smiled a little as the memories of this flooded her mind. The gates were open, so she went straight inside. She slowly walked inside and looked around.Lillian walked up to the pool first and smiled, remembering how Zack teased her here. She then went up to the room she stayed in. when she went in, she was surprised to see Zack there. He was sitting at the desk with his head resting on the table in the other way. He had his headphones on him.Lillian took a deep breath and walked towards him. She stopped in front of him and looked at his face. His eyes were closed, but the distress was clear on his face. The sunlight was hitting his face, so she lifted her hand and blocked it with her hand.Zack felt it and opened his eyes to see what had happened when he saw Lillian standing there. He lifted his head quickly and took off his headphones while looking at h
Lillian woke up before Shadow did and went to the bathroom. After taking a shower and changing her clothes, she went to the kitchen to make breakfast. She was craving something sweet for breakfast. She made waffles with bacon and a big bowl of cereal. As she slowly munched on her breakfast, she scrolled through her phone looking at her news feed. She finished her breakfast and got up to put the dishes away, then she went to check on Shadow, who was still asleep. She went to the living room and sat down on the sofa. The ring on her finger caught her eye. She smiled, looking at it, and suddenly was reminded of Zack.Lillian sighed and looked out the window of her living room, thinking about how she met Zack and how he saved her. Of all the things they had been through. She knew that there were some things she needed to talk with him about.Suddenly, a phone call interrupted her thoughts. She picked her phone and looked at the caller ID. It was Olivia.“What’s up, Liv?” she asked her aft
She turned around and gasped, while cupping her mouth with her hands.“Lillian, since the first day we met, I’ve known that you would be mine for life. You brought so many changes in me that I didn’t even know was possible. You are my happiness and the only reason that brings a smile to my face. I want to give you the best things in life because you deserve them and I want to spend my whole life with you. Will you give me the chance to let me take care of you for until the day I breathe my last? Will you marry me?” he asked, looking at her while holding out the ring in front of her.Tears started to form in her eyes. She nodded and took out her hand for him.“Yes.” she told him in a low tone.He felt like the happiest man on earth as he got up and put the ring on her finger.Lillian hugged him tightly and then leaned back a little to kiss him. When they broke their kiss, Shadow whipped the few tears that escaped her eyes with his thumb.“I love you.” He told her.“And I love you.” She
Zack went to his villa and went to the bedroom Lillian stayed in. He sat down on the bed and looked at the empty room. He remembered the memories he had here and smiled sadly. He laid down on the bed on his back and looked at the ceiling.“How I wish I could go back in time and fix everything.” he said in the empty room in a low tone.Taking a rectangular box from his pocket, he looked at it. He remembered that it was her birthday, and he didn’t find her by coincidence. He had been looking for her around the city to give her the necklace he bought for her as a birthday gift.He opened the box and took out a four clover pendant out of it. The reason he picked this pendent up was because from now he wanted her to be lucky and happy in her life. He didn’t want her to suffer anymore in her life, but when he saw the way she looked at him, he knew that they could never be what they once were.He missed the past when they were close and happy and wanted to go back to those days desperately,
After dinner, they took a walk together for a while. The moon was shining brightly in the sky and there were a lot of stars twinkling in the night sky. Lillian looked up and wondered.“Do you think that there are aliens on other planets?” she asked him.“I don’t know. I only know about this planet. Why did you ask that so suddenly?” he asked her.She shrugged.“It was just a random thought.” She told him and then asked one more question she was wondering about. “What about parallel universes?”“Babe, I have no idea. I am no scientist.” He told her and added. “But maybe there are, and we don’t know that they exist yet. Like humans don’t know that dragons, vampires, werewolves, etc. exist.”She nodded.“Maybe.” she said and looked at him with a smile.“Wanna stop by your parents before we head home?” he asked her.She nodded. They walked back to their car, but when they reached it, they saw Zack standing beside it. They stopped in front of him.Lillian looked at him with mixed feelings.
Several days passed by and Lillian felt closer to her parents than ever before. She spent most of the day with them and even did work while sitting with them. Her parents were proud of their daughter’s accomplishments and they were also grateful to have her alive and well in their life.Shadow felt a bit lonely though in these past few days since she was spending more time with them rather than him, but he tried to be understanding towards her because she got to be with her parents after so many years. He imagined doing the same if he met his parents like this in this world. Though having her distracted was also good for him because he had more time to secretly go around and make preparations for proposing to her on her birthday. He had to check a lot of restaurants before he found a good one for her. He later went to a bakery and gave an order for a two-tier chocolate mousse cake. The night before her birthday, she slept with her parents and left him alone at the house, which left hi
