PHOENIX

I woke up feeling good.

For the first time in weeks, I had slept with no nightmares. I had slept like a baby.

I watched as the rays of the sun seeped into my bedroom while I let the events of yesterday wash over me.

I was a dead Fairy Queen, reincarnated.

I shuddered at that.

I hopped off my bed and walked gingerly into my bathroom to run myself a bath. When I was done, I got ready, my hair going up in a high ponytail, small elegant curls at the ends.

Done dressing up, I skipped downstairs, ready to make breakfast.

I settled for toast with omelettes, bacon and some coffee. I made breakfast for everyone and as I settled down to have mine, the girls filed in, taking their seats.

They passed me weird looks as they settled down to eat. Tired of their obvious staring, I dropped my fork and turned to them.

'what's with the look guys' I asked.

Arizona only looked at me before heaving a sigh.

'It's just that we found out that you were our dead Fairy Queen, reincarnated

JACKSON It has been three days, three agonizing days since I had been to see Caleb. I was expecting a reply or an update. I had put my guards close to the borders in case Caleb came looking for me. I wanted first hand information from him but so far I have been disappointed. Right now, I was considering going to him this night to see what was wrong. He was supposed to have found a way to check the Blue moon pack for Phoenix's where about. I had to find her. I just couldn't bring myself to mate with someone else. I loved Phoenix too much to do that to her. As I took a look at the recent expenditures of my pack and the different request and needs of my pack members, I was barely paying attention. I was looking at the papers but sparsely seeing them. I was worried. Was something wrong? Caleb said he would get back to me. He was a whole day late. Just what was going on. Just when I had decided I had had enough of worrying and would take charge of the situation an

PHOENIX I closed my eyes tightly, breathing in deeply. I waited for a while before taking a peek through my lashes. I huffed. Nothing was happening. Something was supposed to happen. At least that was what the book had said. I was trying to discover what type of fairy powers I possess. I had woken up, feeling ultimately refreshed but anxious. I had gotten ready, my silk dress oddly giving me comfort.I just couldn't shake off the feeling that I was missing something. After making and eating breakfast, I had decided to hit the royal library and had found a book on unlocking your secret potential and now, I was currently seated, Indian style on the floor, trying to 'unlock my secret potential'. Seeing as nothing happened, I closed the book and huffed, immediately irritated. I had found out that I was an incarnate of a revered Fairy Queen and bam, my life turned up side down. Not that my life wasn't already messed up. With my memories that had absolutely no plans o

JACKSON It's been a week, a whole agonizing week since I had received that letter. I had fought tooth and nail to discover who had sent the letter but all to no avail. I had even tried to pick up any scent from the letter but it was just zilch. Now, I was just stuck not knowing what to do. I was loosing hope especially after having talked to Caleb two days ago. I was full of hopes until I had talked to him and got all my hopes dashed. It was five days after I had found the letter. I was in my office still rereading the letter for any clues whatsoever when I had a mind link from the pack warriors guarding the borders. 'Alpha, there is someone here to see you. He says his name is Caleb. Should we...''Let him in' I interrupted, sitting up straighter in my seat. Within minutes, I heard a knock on my door and in walked Caleb, accompanied by one of my pack warriors. I nodded to the warrior and after grunting a 'yes Alpha', he walked out. Caleb went to take a seat and I turned

PHOENIX I closed my eyes and breathed in deeply. I felt a tingling sensation in my hands. I opened my eyes and stared at my hands in awe. My hands glowed a fiery red flame. I directed my hands to a paper I had pinned to the wall and it erupted in flames. I breathed in and waved my hands at the paper and the flames died down. I turned my head when I heard clapping and saw Arizona standing by the door of the library. I had taken to practicing taming my powers in the library. I couldn't go outside because there was a wide varieties of trees outside and everyone knew how very flammable trees were. I knew I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I had set the palace on fire. I had felt extremely guilty and had burst into tears upon seeing the extent of damage I had done in the library with my 'freak' accident. Despite the fact that the fairy sisters repaired what was damaged, I still felt guilty. So, this past week, I had taken to taming my powers and truth be told, I

JACKSON My midnight black wolf, Thunder, was running close to the pack borders, trying to get rid of my stress. I had destroyed three punching bags in the gym in my anxiety and my Beta, David had forced me to go on a run before I, in his own words, turn our dear gym upside down. I knew he was right. I needed to calm down but how on earth could I stay calm when my mate was missing. I had been given only a month to find her, two weeks of which had already gone by with no clue of her whereabouts. As if that was not enough, I had recently started receiving letters, letters I had no clue where or who they were from. These letters warn me to find my mate quickly or 'doom would befall us all' - as if I needed any other reminder. I didn't even know what doom this person meant. I was not only frustrated but also anxious. As I continued my run, oblivious to everything else, I thought about my next line of action which I didn't even have. I had to figure out a plan and fast.

PHOENIX I opened my eyes, the gleaming rays of the sun immediately assaulting them. I just lay there, staring at the ceiling while reflecting on all that had happened yesterday. Arizona and I had spent all afternoon and evening brainstorming on how the last part of the medallion of faiye had gotten to my house. I had also tried to come up with theories on why my Dad had the medallion of faiye. We however made an unanimous decision to keep everything away from Alex and Adriana till we were exactly sure what this was about. We had to find out my Dad's involvement in all this. I hopped off my bed and quickly took a shower, getting ready.I headed down for breakfast. As soon as I settled down to eat, Arizona came down looking sleep deprived. I furrowed my brows at her and she just huffed and went to take a seat across from me. I handed her a plate and she settled down to eat. 'You look like shit Ari' I said, wondering what was wrong with her.She only rolled her eyes at

PHOENIX I woke up on a cold, hard surface. I opened my eyes to a dimly lit room. I sat up but was held back by some restraints. I furrowed my brows and turned only to see my hands and feet in shackles. I looked around the room to see iron bars a few feet from where I was lying. I observed my surroundings and it didn't take long for me to realise I was in a dungeon of some sort. I tried to remember how I got here. The last thing I remembered was being lost after chasing the butterfly and then being struck on the head. I gasped.I had been kidnapped. The chains rattled as I moved, the sound oddly familiar. I concentrated, feeling like there was something I needed to remember that I wasn't. My head began to hurt as my eyes watered. I moved my hands to cradle my aching head when the chains rattled again, making the oddly familiar sound. Everything started rushing back to me as I stared wide eyed at the wall opposite me. I remembered everything, hot flashes rushi

ARIZONA I huffed and puffed, groaning deeply. We had been stuck in this library for hours on end going through books upon books, looking for anything we could find on Celeste's life. I had been complaining, now taking to huffing and puffing, to express my displeasure at having all my brain cells being fried by being in this place. I just laid on the sofa in the library while Alex and Adriana walked around, looking through rows upon rows of books. Something just didn't sit right with me but I was yet to find out what it was. Adriana walked to the sofa I was lying on, book in hand and sat beside me before she began to read out loud. 'Reincarnation is a process signifying the reappearance and rebirth of a person. Though it happens sometimes, this process is not common. Usually when it happens, the incarnate has a mission to fulfill. Though doubted, the incarnate rarely has memories of his previous life. It is sometimes said that the incarnate will keep being born, dying an

I think Conrad, my brother is working against the Alpha" she mused. That had me seating up, eyes wide. "He had been acting strangely, distant so I followed him one time. JACKSONThere was silence across the room, eery silence. Maximus? Maximus! I turned sharply to see disbelief, anger and confusion pass across the faces in the room - the last being on Owen. I thought she had died. I had mourned her' Olga's voice broke 'only for her to resurface again'.I unfroze, confused. 'She was there during the fight?' I asked. Olga nodded. 'She ran away from home. Next I hear, she was dead or was supposedly dead, killed during the battle against the Vampire Maximus' 'How then did she survive' Caleb asked. It was Owen who spoke after his initial confusion had worn off. 'Witches, unlike you believe, are powerful. We don't die easily. She must've survived the battle'Caleb sighed.I turned to Olga who looked blankly at the wall, a question burning in my mind.'

JACKSONTension permeated the room as everyone sat at the very edge of their seat. 'Why are we here again' a lazy drawl taunted me, the source, a purple eyed wizard. I cleared my throat. 'I summoned you here because I need your help' I answered, my gaze transfixed on who appeared to be their leader, a middle aged woman with gleaming purple eyes. The wizard cackled, eyes flashing. I stiffened. 'why would a mighty Alpha as yourself need help from a mere witch clan' he rambled, his taunt clear in his tone. 'Technically, it is not helping if you are fixing what you damaged' Caleb chirped in, annoyed. The wizard straightened in his seat, eye brows furrowing in confusion. The witch, the leader of their clan, the middle aged woman turned abruptly to me, fixing me a pertinent gaze. 'what does that mean'I straightened in my seat. 'You must've heard about the recent attacks on my pack' I mused. 'From investigations we have been able to deduce that with the help of a pack member, a

CalebHe stilled upon seeing me. 'How's she' he asked worriedly. I sighed. 'She refused to eat. I had to force feed her' I told him 'How are the arrangements coming along' I continued. PHOENIXMurmurs filled my ears, moving all around me as I sat numbly. Beside me, Arizona droned on but I could scarcely hear what she was on about. I was tired, my eye lids protesting against the lack of sleep last night. My eyes closed slowly giving itself recourse for a few minutes before I bolted up. Laughter filled the air. Arizona. She kept talking, going on and on before she walked out, leaving me to my peace. I was about to go back to my restless sleep when movement caught my eye. Jacqueline. Her eyes were bloodshot, red, crease lines being evidence of her tears. She looked worse for wear. I shook myself awake before moving to her. I took a seat beside her, grabbing her hands to give it a squeeze. She turned to me, giving me a sad smile before bursting into tears, her bottom lip trembling. 'He doesn't want me Phoenix. He is leaving' she mumbled out. I hugged her, wrapping my arms around her and rubbing her back. 'who is?' I asked softly. 'Caleb' she murmured. I

PHOENIXDusk slowly set in as I sat numbly, looking out the window. My gaze rested calmly on the expanse of land that was the compound. I sighed. Jackson had been gone the whole day. And I missed him. Our relationship seemed strained. And I couldn't tell why. My head snapped up when the living room doors snapped open. A sullen Jackson and a worried Caleb walked in. Caleb nodded in greeting to me. Jackson walked on, ignoring me. I looked at Caleb. 'Where have he been' He sighed tiredly. 'He had business he had to finish at the Blue moon Pack' he answered and my heart sunk. Jackson walked back in just then, ringing for Amy. I turned to Caleb forcing a smile on my face. 'Join us for dinner Caleb'* * *The dinning room was fairly quiet as we ate slowly. The only thing that could be heard was the continuous click of our cutleries as they repeatedly hit the ceramic that was our dishes. Anger and sadness brimmed inside me. He shrugged. 'I heard about it but I thought it was but a rumour. I had no idea it was true' he told me. He looked fairly innocent Or he must be a very good liar. I sighed. 'That is actually not why I am here' I told him. He sat up in his seat, his red rimmed eyes narrowing to slits. 'What then brings you here''Alpha Colin, I have information that you trade with humans' i told him simply. He inhaled sharply. 'what do you mean?' I raised my brows sardonically. 'You know what I mean Colin. You trade with humans but... ''That is not fair Alpha Jackson. Your pack is bordered with water, good arable land and technology.
