Alexander’s POV

The weight of the room's tension hung heavily as I sat there, feeling the weight of responsibility for the pain that my presence had caused. Sophia's parents, Richard and Anne, were still visibly upset, and Richard's disappointment had cut deeply. I cleared my throat, trying to find the words to mend the broken trust.

"I want to sincerely apologize once again," I began, my voice steady but filled with remorse. "I deeply regret any pain and disappointment my actions have caused you, especially Sophia. We didn't take this decision lightly, and we knew it was time to confess to you, to be honest about our feelings and intentions."

Richard's expression was still stern, but there was a glimmer of curiosity in his eyes. "Thought long and hard, you say?"

I nodded, my gaze unwavering. "Yes, sir. We knew that our love for each other was strong enough to face whatever challenges might come our way. We're committed to taking care of Sophia and the children."
