Sophia’s POV

Blinking my eyes open, I groggily registered my surroundings. The opulent room I found myself in was far removed from the gritty shadows of the city I had grown accustomed to. Confusion coursed through me as I attempted to sit up, only to hear a voice that sent my heart racing.

"You're awake," the voice said, a touch of amusement dancing within the words. I turned my head towards the source, and there he was—Jake. Despite the unfamiliarity of the situation, a wave of relief washed over me. Jake's presence was like an anchor, a link to something known amidst the sea of uncertainty.
