HERO POV
Almost everyone in the region knew my name, but when was the last time someone cared about me just for me? When was the last time someone wanted me, not because of my power or position?
Couldn't remember,
"I've never heard of that pack or its Alpha," she admitted, her voice flat. "But then again, I don't know much about packs from outside our borders. I've never been one to socialise with outsiders."
I stared at her, letting a sliver of my power seep into the air. Nearly thirty alphas were gathered tonight for Weston's celebration. If she truly believed she would be his Luna, she should have familiarised herself with the other guests.
She would have known that I would be there.
"Damn it," I muttered to myself, frustration gnawing at me. I'd let myself get sidetracked, completely captivated by her. It was baffling how she could remain so oblivious to my true identity. I couldn't help but study her, trying to piece together the puzzle. It was as if she was shrouded in a mist, her essence barely perceptible. I, who could easily identify a werewolf from a mile away, was utterly perplexed by her.
She knew how to act around an Alpha, but she didn't do that with me, even though she thought I was one. Was she just pretending?
It had just been a few hours since we met but I already knew that she was an average person. She wasn't boring or dull. Infact, she was quite the opposite. Elusive, mysterious. She was like a puzzle, intriguing and challenging, but also out of reach.
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Of course, feel free to ask me anything," I replied, my gaze fixed on her.
"Imagine a night where all rules and restrictions dissolve. What would you do if you had the freedom to do anything, absolutely anything? What secret desires, what forbidden pleasures would you indulge in?" she asked, her voice low and mysterious.
Interesting question. “Back in the day, my brother, sister, and I had it easy. We were free as birds, with no one to boss us around or tell us what to do. We were our own little gang because It was a time of pure freedom, where we could do whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted. Seems like a lifetime ago now.”
"Oh," she pouted, her lower lip jutting out in a small frown. "That sounds nice.”
I smiled, a fleeting flicker. “It was,” I admitted, “but I didn't realise it at the time. You know, you never truly value something until it's gone. If I had a night of total freedom, I'd do whatever it took to feel like myself again. To feel in control of my own life.“
“What about a freedom like fuck a pretty woman who wanted to spread her both legs for you?”
I met her gaze head on. “I have plenty of women willing to fuck me, Zara, many of them achingly stunning and beautiful.”
"Well then," she said, her smile fading as she looked at me with genuine disappointment. "I suppose I have nothing to offer you.”
"So, let me understand this correctly. You're planning to use your 'night of freedom' to have casual sex with someone? Is that what you're saying?" I asked, not wanting to sound flirty.
She sighed without saying a single word.
“A 'night of freedom,' huh? So, you're thinking of a little one-night stand? Well, well, well... I'm intrigued."
"Nah, I think I just want to experience the thrill of freedom with someone," she said, her voice trailing off. "You know, the kind of freedom where we can just have fun and enjoy ourselves." She let out a long sigh, her gaze drifting to the bed where a pair of jeans lay forgotten. As she reached for them, a flicker of longing passed through her eyes.
My heart pounded in my chest. "What are you doing?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper.
“I thought I just made that clear. I’m going to look for a place where I can have a little fun with a touch of pleasure. I need to put on some jeans for that.”
"Absolutely not," I declared, my voice firm and unwavering.
"Wait a minute," she paused, glancing over her shoulder. "I don't want to go with just anyone. I've made some pretty dumb decisions tonight, and I've learned my lesson. I need to be fully dressed before I even think about talking to someone.”
Goddamn it, what was wrong with this lady? Was she just going to go out and find a stranger to fuck? My wolf practically kept howling inside of me.
What the hell was happening? Why do I even care about her choices? I didn't need to care if she walked through that door to find someone to sleep with.
She grabbed the jeans, before walking past me to the bedroom. Shooting my arm out, I quickly stopped her.
“Do you really think walking out there in search of a stranger to fuck you is a great idea?” I question clutching her arms.
“What do you care about?” She whispered.
My cock stirred in my trouser, I blinked my eyes before sighing.
'fuvk, you ignited the beast." i mumbled to myself.
I lifted her effortlessly, the weight of her body a mere whisper in my arms. As I settled her on the soft cushions, the jeans gently slipped from her grasp. My gaze followed the path of her bare legs, a primal desire igniting within me. With a controlled movement, I traced the curve of her thighs, my touch lingering. "I depart tomorrow," I murmured, my voice a stark contrast to the growing intensity within me.
“Shhhh,” she placed a hand on my lips. “I won't be here to be in your way.”
I hadn't planned on taking anyone home tonight. The trip was all about business, not pleasure, but those thighs were begging to be marked by my teeth.
I slid my fingers up to her hips and found yet another surprise of the night. She had no bra or panties on. "Under that dress? Did you come here to drive a wolf insane? You won't find me soft.”
“I’m not looking for something soft. I love it hard,” She spread her thighs and stared at me seductively. “Fuck me, hard and fast, Alpha.”
ZARA POVDamn it, I definitely lost my mind or bumped my head somewhere cause why the hell was I bluffing nonsense in front of this beautiful man? I honestly didn't know how to do hard and fast. I didn't even know how to do soft and slow either. I just knew that his eyes couldn't stay away from me, and my heart hasn't settled since the moment my eyes landed on his face. This choice was the only thing I have ever been certain about. I wanted HIM. I was never going to see him again, and only he would know the truth.A secret. I had a few of them, but I desperately wanted this one right now. I needed a nice memory, and he would be a perfect one. Oh, my goodness, he hasn't even fucked me, and I can already imagine the shape of his rigid length between my legs. Feel his taste in my mouth, smell his scent in the air.I have never had a one night stand before, but something about this man tells me this encounter is going to be different. And it’s not only due to the hum of electricity tha
ZARA POVHis large fingers trace a gentle path down my face, sending shivers down my spine. The soft touch ignites a fire within me, making me yearn for more. He lingers, exploring every curve and contour, his fingertips dancing across my skin. As he gently pushes aside my hair, a soft touch brushes against the nape of my neck, sending a wave of pleasure through my entire being. The sensation is so intense, it makes my toes curl.He is not even fucked me yet, and my body is primed to recieve him. Every nerve ending in my body is alive, every cell alert, and every pore on my skin opens as if to absorb his very presence.“Well?” He released me and gave me a cocky grin. “Can I touch you?” He has a smirk on his lips from my pathetic begging. “Why don't you try again, Dolphin.”“Please, let me touch you and make you feel beyond good.” I whispered. “Done.” Grabbing my hand, he licked the palm and placed it on his cock. “Fist me tightly. Get me real nice and hard for you.”Leaning down ag
ZARA POVI swallowed hard, nodding to his command. I shut my eyes, aching my back off the couch as he fucked me with his tongue. Everything was intense and a little terrifying, and when I exploded. He didn't give me time to catch my breathe. He grips the back of my thighs, rises to his feet and, and hauls me up with him like i totally weighed nothing. I’m not light. At five-foot-six, with curves that I have never managed to control, I weigh more than I should. But he lifts me like it's nothing. “What are you doing? Hey—” I grab hold of his shoulders. He merely turns, then throws me on something soft, mattress. I bounce twice, then shove the hair back from my face. When I look up at him, he’s staring at me with a fierce hunger on his face. He looks like he hasn't eaten for weeks, and I'm the first food he’s come across and can't wait to consume. The protest I was going to voice out died in my throat. I gulp; and watch as he wiped the back of his hand across his glistening mouth. He’
HERO POVI come awake with a start, and even before I open my eyes, I know she's gone. Fuck, fuck, fuck, how could I have not woken up when she left? I’m used to sleeping with my awareness at the forefront of my consciousness, ready to awaken at the slightest noise. Clearly, the sex last night went to my head. Her scent cling to everything in the hotel room. The couch where I had first made her cum. The bedsheets where I had fucked her until well into the night. The shower where I had carried her Just before daybreak because we had ruined the bed and fucked against the tilt. The towel that I had laid down on the bathroom counter while I bent her over it and hammered her into it. We had finally fallen asleep on the couch. When I had woken up, I had realized that she hadn't taken the clothes I had offered her or the dress. She must have shifted and returned home as a wolf. I glance around and notice something glimmering on the pillow. I walk over and picked it up. It's a chain she wa
HERO POVWhen Weston and his soon-to-be bride left, I returned to my hotel room to discover that it wasn't empty. Jeremy turned from the window with a deep frown masked on his face. “I don't think the bleach would do any justice. You may have to set the whole bed on fire before the hotel can let anyone else sleep here.”The acrid scent of bleach mingled with the lingering, cloying sweetness of her perfume was all I could smell. But be honest, he wasn't wrong. The sheet had been changed, the carpets had been upholstery cleaned to perfection, at my request, but it still managed to smell of sex and her even after much room freshener sprayed.“You were at the ball last night?” I countered, my tone equally sharp. My second in command and my best friend raised his eyebrow at me. “And you were not? I was told you played the hero again but this time around to the humiliated beauty in the torn dress. I would only ask one question,” Jeremy's voice was laced with accusation.“Did you enjoy yours
ZARA POVSEVENTEEN DAYS LATER The heavy wooden door and window, barred and locked, loomed in front of me. Outside, a guard stood watch, his presence a constant reminder of my imprisonment. It was a foolish attempt to flee when my father was away, thinking I was safe. Paul, my father's ruthless second-in-command, relished the opportunity to inflict pain upon me, a pleasure he had been denied since the night of the ill-fated ball. I should have known he'd been keeping tabs on me.I felt stupid, I felt like shit,A wave of self-loathing washed over me. I should have stayed with Hero. The memory of his warm touch, his knowing smile, was a distant, painful dream. I’d been a fool to let fear dictate my actions. There was this connection between us. I don't even know if it's a mate bond but I strongly doubt it, but most wolves got this bond even if they weren't fated mates. If Hero didn't want to Marry me, he might at least give me a small place in his pack. I had considered telling him th
ZARA POVThe heavy, wooden door creaked open, casting a sliver of moonlight across the cold, damp floor. It was nearly four in the morning, an eternity since I had last seen Sonja. A wave of relief washed over me as I saw the guard, slumped over on the ground, his head lolling limply. The sleeping draught had worked. The cell was tiny, barely large enough for a cot and a small, wooden table. The walls were bare and cold, and the only sound was the distant hum of the prison generators. I had been confined to this miserable place for what felt like an age, my mind consumed by thoughts of escape and the one person I couldn't stop thinking about. She twirled the key between her fingers, a nervous habit."Paul and the others are on a mission down south. We should head to the North River and then go our separate ways. Are you certain you won't join me? My father has a place for us," she said quietly."Hey, did you tell him about this plan?" I asked, my voice sharper than I'd meant it to be.
ZARA POV'Clinging.'The word echoed through my brain like a broken record. He wasn't exactly welcoming me with open arms like I had imagined. I let my arms wrap themselves around my naked body. “I…I'm sorry, Hero. I'm honestly not trying to be clingy. I’m in some kind of a big mess, and I thought you could render some help.” "Hero?" The man next to him barked, and I flinched. I'd almost forgotten we had an audience. What had Hero called him? Jeremy. "Don't you ever call him Hero again, or I'll feed your tongue to the deadly animals in the woods.”I quickly looked down, realising my mistake. In my eagerness to talk to him, I had forgotten to be respectful. "I apologise," I mumbled, my voice barely a whisper. I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart, before speaking again.“Alpha of the Black Haw pack. I didn't mean to offend you.” I uttered even if I knew that my initial plan was going off the rails already. The men around him fell silent, their eyes drawn to him. I cauti
ALPHA KING GRANTThe big wooden doors of the pack house creaked as I pushed them open. Another trip, another empty feeling. I sighed, a long, heavy sound that seemed to fill the quiet hallway. Since I was fifteen, I've been searching. Fifteen! That's a long, long time. I'm the Alpha King, which means I'm in charge of all the werewolf packs. I got this job really young, and now, well, I'm almost a hundred years old. And still, no mate.Everyone around me has found their special someone. My friends, my warriors, even the cooks in the kitchen! They all have their mates, and it makes me feel... lonely. Really lonely. When I turned fifteen, I took a whole year off. A year! I traveled all over the world, visiting every pack I could find. I was so excited. I imagined finding her, my mate. I wanted to give her everything, make her happy, love her with all my heart. I wanted to spend time with her, not just work all the time. But I didn't find her. Not that year. I told myself, "Maybe she's to
ADRIANA POVThe heavy oak door groaned, resisting the frantic assault of Harold’s shoulder. Finally, it splintered inward, a testament to his desperate strength. He stumbled into the room, the air thick with the stench of metallic blood. His gaze, wild and searching, fell upon his brother, sprawled lifeless on the blood-soaked rug.A strangled cry escaped Harold’s lips. He staggered towards the body, his knees buckling beneath him. "No... no!" he choked, his voice raw with grief. "Henry,"Trisha, her face pale and drawn, followed close behind. She gasped, her eyes widening at the gruesome scene. "Oh Goodness," she whispered, her voice trembling. "What… what happened?"Harold, his hands trembling violently, reached out to touch his brother's cold, lifeless cheek. "Henry," he moaned, the word a guttural sob. "Who did this?”He slowly looked up at me, his eyes blazed with fury. The world seemed to tilt. Then, a burning pain exploded across my cheek when he slapped me. I recoiled, dizzy a
This is the story of Alpha prince Grant and how he found his mate. THE ALPHA'S REJECTED MUTE MATECHAPTER 1ADRIANA POVAfter making breakfast for the Luna of the Diamond Pack this morning, I headed back to my room. A big smile spread across my face as I glanced at the calendar hanging on the wall of the room given to me at the pack house. Each ticked-off day on the April calendar brought me closer to my special day. Today was finally the 28th of April, my eighteenth birthday! I couldn't contain my excitement.Turning eighteen for most wolves is a big deal. It's when we usually shift into our wolf forms for the first time and meet our inner wolves. I'm even more excited than most, because I've been Mute since I was born. I had been like this since I was a baby, wrapped in the arms of my dead mother. She had been killed by a pack of lone wolves. Lone wolf...A lone wolf is a wolf that lives and hunts alone, outside of a pack, they don't belong to any Pack. This can happen for various
ZARA POVGrant finished his meal, a happy little mess of baby food smeared around his mouth. Hero, with a gentle smile, lifted him into his arms. "Okay, little man," Hero said, his voice soft, "tell Daddy all about your day."Grant, in response, let out a series of excited baby noises, a mix of gurgles and happy babbling. He waved his tiny hands, as if trying to tell a grand story that only he understood. Hero chuckled, bouncing him lightly up and down. Grant's laughter filled the room, a sweet, pure sound that made my heart melt.I couldn't help but smile. It was like watching magic happen. Before, Hero had been so unsure, so worried about being a father. But now, seeing them together, it was clear he was a natural. Grant absolutely adored him. His eyes lit up whenever Hero was near, and Hero, in return, spent every free moment with his son.Every time I saw them together, Hero had this big, open smile. It was like he'd found something he never knew he was missing. It was a smile tha
ZARA POVONE YEAR LATERThe bright summer sun streamed through the window, making the dust motes dance in the air. A warm breeze carried the scent of freshly cut grass, and the sound of birds chirping filled the garden. Inside, the living room was a cheerful chaos of baby toys and soft blankets.Kristina was sitting on the plush sofa, her eyes wide and sparkling as she cradled Grant in her arms. He was almost a year old now, a chubby little bundle of joy with big, curious eyes. He gurgled happily, reaching out tiny hands to tug at Kristina's bright pink shirt."Oh, he's just the sweetest thing!" Kristina sighed, her voice full of pure adoration. "Look at those eyes! And his little hands! He's absolutely perfect."I smiled, leaning against the doorway. "He is, isn't he? He gets those eyes from Hero.""And that hair! Just like Hero's too," Kristina added, gently stroking Grant's soft, dark curls. "He's a mini-Hero. You're so lucky, Zara. I swear, if I wasn't your best friend right now,
HERO POV"Hero..." Zara's voice, usually so strong, trembled. She clutched her stomach, her face paling. "Hero, I... I think my water broke."My breath hitched. "What? Are you sure?"Her eyes, wide and filled with a raw, primal fear, locked onto mine. "Yes! I'm sure! Oh, it hurts, Hero. It hurts so much!"She swayed, her legs buckling beneath her. I reacted instantly, leaping forward and catching her before she could fall. "Zara! Hold on, hold on.”"Oh, it's coming, Hero. It's really coming!" she gasped, her voice thick with pain. "It's… it’s like a fire inside.""Jeremy! Guys! We need help!" I yelled, my voice cracking with urgency. "Now!"Instead of the swift, coordinated response I expected, they walked towards us. A wave of cheers erupted, and my eyes widened in disbelief. Jeremy and the others stood there, beaming, holding bottles of sparkling wine and brightly colored balloons. "Congratulations, Hero! Congratulations, Zara!”They started clapping, oblivious to the chaos unfoldin
HERO POVMy hands were shaking. I mean, really shaking. I tried to smooth down my shirt, but it didn't help. I was standing right in front of the place. We had put up lights, flowers, everything. It was supposed to look like a dream, the kind of place you see in movies. I had spent all day, every single minute, trying to make it perfect. I wanted it to be just right for Zara.I took a deep breath. It didn't do much. My heart was pounding like a drum. I kept thinking, "What if she doesn't like it? What if it's not good enough?" I looked around again. We had hung little lights everywhere. They twinkled, even though it wasn't dark yet. We had put up her favorite flowers, the bright yellow ones. I had even gotten some special candles that smelled like vanilla, her favorite."Man, you look like you're about to jump out of your skin," Jeremy said. He was standing next to me, trying to look cool. He always looked cool. I wished I could be that calm."I'm nervous," I admitted. "Really nervous
ZARA POVI felt so much better. My body was strong again. Hero had taken care of everything. He made Paul and Alvira tell everyone what they did. The whole squad saw it, even Kira. They told the truth about trying to hurt me. Because of this, my father was going to lose his position as Alpha. He was in big trouble. But we had a big problem. We couldn't tell everyone about the mountain. It had too much magic. If other packs found out, they could use it for bad things. So, we all agreed to keep the mountain a secret.I knew Mascold wasn't happy about us leaving the mountain because they were torn between the fear of letting their secret out. Paxton and his mate tried to talk to us then and we had refused. I felt glad I had turn them down because right now, I was walking back into my old house to confront my father finally. It should have been my home, but it never really felt like it. I walked tall and proud. No one dared to touch me.I wondered why. Maybe they knew Hero was my mate, an
HERO POV"Are you alright?" I asked again, my voice low. I looked at her wrists, at the marks left by the cuffs, and at the rough collar around her neck. A wave of anger washed over me, a hot, burning feeling. Even though Weston was gone, I wanted to hurt him again, just for touching her like this. How could anyone do this to her?She blinked slowly, her eyes looking tired. "Yeah," she whispered, "I'm... I'm okay." She paused, her eyes fluttering. "But... I think I'm going to faint.”And then, just like that, she went limp in my arms. I felt a surge of panic. "Zara!" I called, but she didn't respond. I held her close, carefully lifting her into my arms. She was so light.I walked out of the cabin, the wooden floor creaking under my boots. The night air was cool, and the moon was bright, casting long shadows. I held Zara tightly, my heart pounding.Suddenly, I heard a soft rustling sound from the trees nearby. It was a subtle sound, like leaves moving, but my senses were sharp. I stopp
