HERO POV

A wolf with black fur cautiously approached me, padding softly and circling my legs. Her eyes, full of curiosity, studied me intently. I held back my power, allowing her to explore. Paxton growled, interrupting the moment. “Can you please stop that, Morgan? The positioned station given to you should be your top priority right now.”

She slowly walked away with a sound like a wolf's laugh, and I couldn't help but smirk. “It seemed like she enjoys taking risks. What a wild one.”

"More like… stubborn. I wouldn't be surprised if she tries to take on more than she can handle one of these days," Paxton grumbled. “This is Liam and Aubrey. I've asked everyone else to leave so we can talk openly without you worrying about them. They're trustworthy. As I suspected, Baxter did some digging into your siblings on his own. I think he figured out who you are. He's agreed to tell you what he found, but he wants something in return. He wants you to do him a favor.”

I arched an eyebrow. “I ass

I didn't flinch, didn't react. Instead, I turned calmly, a practiced ease settling over me. I waited. He was catching up quickly, his long strides eating up the distance between us. "I sent Jeremy to escort you," Hero said, his voice a low rumble. His brow furrowed, a deep crease marrying his otherwise flawless features. "Shouldn't he be driving you? Why are you walking instead?" He scanned the deserted street, his gaze sharp and alert."Hey, I'm not disabled in my leg. In fact, walking is actually good for me, and I don't have anywhere I need to be right now. By the way, why do you have blood on you?" I said calmly.“We had a skirmish outside the border. Nothing that Paxton and his wolves couldn't handle.” he explained."I think you were there to see how they handled the situation," I said,

ZARA POV"Hero," I began softly, my voice close to his ear, "you truly believe that after everything I've endured here, things can simply return to how they were before? I'm sorry, but that's utter nonsense. There's no way we can pretend this never happened. This mountain, these hurtful shared experiences you put me through... they've changed me. I can't unsee what I've seen and heard, or unfeel what I've felt. I’m different now, Hero, irrevocably different.”"I understand that I made a big mistake. I know how badly I treated you before, and I'm truly sorry for it. That was incredibly foolish of me. But please believe me, Zara. I meant every word I said last night. We can move past this and start fresh. I'm ready to move forward and try again.”‘Move forward.’ Was he even joking right now?"I understand it's tough to believe me after everything, but I've made a decision. If earning back your trust means proving how much you mean to me, I'll do absolutely anything. I'll move mountains,

HERO POV“Is this Elliot?” Paxton questioned before sliding a photo across the table. It was blurry, but there was no mistaking the face of the man who had saved Zara and claimed to be her mate.Cyrus's words about Elliot had made me furious, and the anger still hadn't subsided. Hours had passed since then, and I was now in Paxton's office with Zara and Finna. Finna had originally promised to explain everything to us. "You knew he was dealing drugs, and you didn't do anything to stop him? I can't believe you just let this happen!” I snarled angrily. "Elliot is more than just a drug dealer,” Finna said, her voice laced with a hint of worry. “We understand you're upset and angry right now, but it's important to remember that investigating matters within the rogue community is incredibly complex. We have been actively searching for him, but under a different name. You see, when he was a member of the Silver Moon Pack, he went by the name Fallon.”"Okay, get me on the line… I need to sp

HERO POV"I'm wondering, what do you think I should be aware of when dealing with Baxter, especially now that it seems like Elliot might be gone?” I questioned. Paxton arched an eyebrow, a skeptical glint in his eyes. “You're seriously concerned about whether Baxter will offer you tea and biscuits, aren't you? I'm more worried about whether he will consider you a tasty snack and proceed to decorate his lair with your bones.__ or are you worried that he will kill you and parade your body around the entire mountain as a trophy?”Zara tensed beside me, and gripped my arm so tightly I could see her knuckles turn white. I tried to stay calm, even though this was exactly the kind of situation we were always worried about. It was a possibility that hung over every trip we took, a constant threat lurking just beyond the edges of our vision. "Getting that information would definitely be helpful," I said, keeping my voice steady even though I was starting to feel a little uneasy"Honestly, I'm

ZARA POVThe moment, Hero touched me. The entire game was over, something shifted. It was like a fragile house of cards, built with so much effort and deceit, finally collapsing under the weight of his hand. I could lie easily, spin elaborate tales when no one was watching. I could pretend, become anyone I wanted, even fooling myself sometimes. But his touch, a simple brush of his fingers against my skin, shattered the illusion. The walls of my carefully constructed world began to tremble. They swayed, then crumbled, brick by brick. All the lies I'd built, all the ways I'd deceived myself, turned to dust. The air, once thick with the haze of my own manufactured reality, suddenly felt thin, suffocating. My carefully crafted mask, the one I wore so effortlessly, threatened to slip, revealing the truth beneath. And that was the terrifying part. The thought of him seeing the real me, the broken, frightened person hiding behind the facade, was unbearable. He pulled me up against his body,

ZARA POVThe air in the small room was thick with the scent of his cologne, a musky blend of sandalwood and something sharper, almost metallic. My breath hitched as his gaze swept over me, a slow, deliberate appraisal that made my skin prickle. The sound of the zipper sliding down, then the soft gasp that escaped my lips, seemed to echo in the sudden silence. He moved with a practiced ease, his hands sure and strong as they discarded the last vestiges of fabric. My legs trembled, with fear and a strange, unfamiliar excitement. I tried to brace myself against the cold marble floor, but my body seemed to melt beneath his touch. He lifted one of my legs, the smooth, cool surface of the marble a cool sensation against the warmth of his skin. I closed my eyes, the anticipation building to an almost unbearable crescendo. But instead of the rough, bruising force I had braced myself for, his touch was surprisingly gentle. A soft murmur escaped his lips, a low, appreciative sound that sent shi

ZARA POVSliding one finger inside my wet heat, he settled back on his stomach, and his tongue was just as torturously gentle as before. Only this time, there was no trying to drive him. I pulled on the restraints, but they were surprisingly strong. When I tried bucking my hips, he kept me flat against the mattress, pinning me down like a bug. The man above me was relentless, his movements a dizzying blur. I arched my back, a strangled cry escaping my lips as pleasure surged through me. Stars exploded behind my eyelids, each flash of light a testament to the overwhelming intensity building within me. “Hero,” I gasped, my voice hoarse. Heat streaks my cheeks, to say I am mortified is putting it mildly. No man has ever eaten me out there and I don't think anyone would ever eat me the way he does it. HERO POVFour days. Four endless days of trudging through thick mud, swatting away swarms of insects, and enduring the gnawing hunger that constantly threatened to consume us after we exhausted most of our food. It was a journey that tested our resolve and pushed us to our limits. I couldn't help but wonder why Glinda, with her incredible magic, hadn't simply whisked us away to her den. After all, she had done so effortlessly the first time. My question, however, was met with a chorus of disapproving glares. Now, as we finally stumbled upon her den, hidden deep within the heart of the woods, I understood.Glinda hadn't been expecting any of us at all.“What in the blaze is happening here, Finna? Did you all drive here because you can all just drive right back.” Glinda snarled, and tried to slam the door shut, but Walker stuck his foot in at the last minute, and opened it up. Walker, his grin as wide as the Texas plains, stepped in first. "Howdy, Glinda! Long time no see!”The witch dr

THE ALPHA'S REJECTED MUTE MATECHAPTER 1ADRIANA POVAfter making breakfast for the Luna of the Diamond Pack this morning, I headed back to my room. A big smile spread across my face as I glanced at the calendar hanging on the wall of the room given to me at the pack house. Each ticked-off day on the April calendar brought me closer to my special day. Today was finally the 28th of April, my eighteenth birthday! I couldn't contain my excitement.Turning eighteen for most wolves is a big deal. It's when we usually shift into our wolf forms for the first time and meet our inner wolves. I'm even more excited than most, because I've been Mute since I was born. I had been like this since I was a baby, wrapped in the arms of my dead mother. She had been killed by a pack of lone wolves. Lone wolf...A lone wolf is a wolf that lives and hunts alone, outside of a pack, they don't belong to any Pack. This can happen for various

"Okay, little man," Hero said, his voice soft, "tell Daddy all about your day."Grant, in response, let out a series of excited baby noises, a mix of gurgles and happy babbling. He waved his tiny hands, as if trying to tell a grand story that only he understood. Hero chuckled, bouncing him lightly up and down. Grant's laughter filled the room, a sweet, pure sound that made my heart melt.I couldn't help but smile. It was like watching magic happen. Before, Hero had been so unsure, so worried about being a father. But now, seeing them together, it was clear he was a natural. Grant absolutely adored him. His eyes lit up whenever Hero was near, and Hero, in return, spent every free moment with his son.Every time I saw them together, Hero had this big, open smile. A warm breeze carried the scent of freshly cut grass, and the sound of birds chirping filled the garden. Inside, the living room was a cheerful chaos of baby toys and soft blankets.Kristina was sitting on the plush sofa, her eyes wide and sparkling as she cradled Grant in her arms. He was almost a year old now, a chubby little bundle of joy with big, curious eyes. He gurgled happily, reaching out tiny hands to tug at Kristina's bright pink shirt."Oh, he's just the sweetest thing!" Kristina sighed, her voice full of pure adoration. "Look at those eyes! And his little hands! He's absolutely perfect."I smiled, leaning against the doorway. "He is, isn't he? He gets those eyes from Hero.""And that hair! Just like Hero's too," Kristina added, gently stroking Grant's soft, dark curls. "He's a mini-Hero. You're so lucky, Zara. I swear, if I wasn't your best friend right now,

Are you sure?"Her eyes, wide and filled with a raw, primal fear, locked onto mine. "Yes! I'm sure! Oh, it hurts, Hero. It hurts so much!"She swayed, her legs buckling beneath her. I reacted instantly, leaping forward and catching her before she could fall. "Zara! Hold on, hold on.”"Oh, it's coming, Hero. It's really coming!" she gasped, her voice thick with pain. "It's… it’s like a fire inside.""Jeremy! Guys! We need help!" I yelled, my voice cracking with urgency. "Now!"Instead of the swift, coordinated response I expected, they walked towards us. A wave of cheers erupted, and my eyes widened in disbelief. Jeremy and the others stood there, beaming, holding bottles of sparkling wine and brightly colored balloons. "Congratulations, Hero! Congratulations, Zara!”They started clapping, oblivious to the chaos unfoldin

HERO POVMy hands were shaking. I mean, really shaking. I tried to smooth down my shirt, but it didn't help. I was standing right in front of the place. We had put up lights, flowers, everything. It was supposed to look like a dream, the kind of place you see in movies. I had spent all day, every single minute, trying to make it perfect. I wanted it to be just right for Zara.I took a deep breath. It didn't do much. My heart was pounding like a drum. I kept thinking, "What if she doesn't like it? What if it's not good enough?" I looked around again. We had hung little lights everywhere. They twinkled, even though it wasn't dark yet. We had put up her favorite flowers, the bright yellow ones. I had even gotten some special candles that smelled like vanilla, her favorite."Man, you look like you're about to jump out of your skin," Jeremy said. He was standing next to me, trying to look cool. He always looked cool. I wished I could be that calm."I'm nervous," I admitted. "Really nervous

ZARA POVI felt so much better. My body was strong again. Hero had taken care of everything. He made Paul and Alvira tell everyone what they did. The whole squad saw it, even Kira. They told the truth about trying to hurt me. Because of this, my father was going to lose his position as Alpha. He was in big trouble. But we had a big problem. We couldn't tell everyone about the mountain. It had too much magic. If other packs found out, they could use it for bad things. So, we all agreed to keep the mountain a secret.I knew Mascold wasn't happy about us leaving the mountain because they were torn between the fear of letting their secret out. Paxton and his mate tried to talk to us then and we had refused. I felt glad I had turn them down because right now, I was walking back into my old house to confront my father finally. It should have been my home, but it never really felt like it. I walked tall and proud. No one dared to touch me.I wondered why. Maybe they knew Hero was my mate, an

HERO POV"Are you alright?" I asked again, my voice low. I looked at her wrists, at the marks left by the cuffs, and at the rough collar around her neck. A wave of anger washed over me, a hot, burning feeling. Even though Weston was gone, I wanted to hurt him again, just for touching her like this. How could anyone do this to her?She blinked slowly, her eyes looking tired. "Yeah," she whispered, "I'm... I'm okay." She paused, her eyes fluttering. "But... I think I'm going to faint.”And then, just like that, she went limp in my arms. I felt a surge of panic. "Zara!" I called, but she didn't respond. I held her close, carefully lifting her into my arms. She was so light.I walked out of the cabin, the wooden floor creaking under my boots. The night air was cool, and the moon was bright, casting long shadows. I held Zara tightly, my heart pounding.Suddenly, I heard a soft rustling sound from the trees nearby. It was a subtle sound, like leaves moving, but my senses were sharp. I stopp
