ZARA POV

"Cameron," Hero sighed, turning to face him, "I know this is a difficult question, but is there absolutely any way at all that you can perform a paternity test on her to figure out who the father of the baby is?”

He just wouldn't stop talking about it, and his voice was so irritatingly loud. I felt so embarrassed. I wished the ground would just open up and swallow me whole. I closed my eyes and tried to hold back the tears that were starting to well up.

"The procedure exists," Cameron said calmly, "but it's a very hard thing for the mother to go through. It's incredibly painful.”

His sentence was met with silence, and I finally opened my eyes. I'd had enough. It was time to end this. “Just do it,” I mumbled.

"I had truly hoped that your own request would be enough to convince me, but I understand the significant risks involved for the baby. Performing this procedure goes against my ethical and medical principles. I will not carry it out, and I will not allow it to be performe

HERO POVI focused all my attention on Boston. He had recovered from his injuries, but the blood loss had taken a toll. His movements were a bit slower, and he was holding back, likely to avoid hurting anyone. He was only facing one wolf, yet he was clearly in control of the fight. At the beginning of the fight, Walker and Jeremy faced off one-on-one. They seemed evenly matched, trading blows with impressive skill. I wasn't overly concerned, though. Jeremy was a calculated fighter. He enjoyed studying his opponents' moves, so I knew he wouldn't rush into anything. He was happy to let the fight drag on, sizing up Walker's strengths and weaknesses. “Walker is a skilled fighter,” I commented, watching them circle each other."I know he's been battling to survive for a very long time," Paxton said, a hint of pride in his voice. "Now, he's fighting for me. He knows your boy is trying to toy with him.”"He's not toying with him," I corrected him. "He's assessing the situation, sizing him up

ZARA POV"Hero," I began, letting out a long breath. "If my father discovers he's the grandfather of the king's child, he'll do everything in his power to get rid of me. He'll see me as a threat, a reminder of his past. He'll raise that child to be just like him, a ruthless king who cares for nothing but power.”Hero pulled me close, his arms wrapping around me tightly. He whispered in my ear, his breath warm against my skin, “Hey, I won't let that happen. Never.”I turned to face him, a small laugh escaping my lips. “You won't let that happen?” I said, shaking my head. “From the way I have seen things, this looks like a suicide mission you already planned for yourself. You've put someone else on the throne, haven't you? Because you know you won't survive this. You're more worried about saving those wolves you brought here with you than you are about saving yourself. Let's be honest, once you get your revenge, what's left? You won't be around to raise this child, so maybe you should s

HERO POVHer breath caught in her throat. I gently slipped my hand further under her shirt, resting it lightly on her belly. We both had a lot to process today, and I knew I should give her more space. I didn't want to rush things or scare her. I just wanted to be there for her, to offer comfort and support.Though, another part of me suspected that she needed a distraction__she needed something to help take her mind off things, and this was the best way I knew how to do that. It was too early to feel the baby in her stomach, but the thought of having to feel it was overwhelming. My brains literally screamed at what I had only learned a few short minutes ago. ‘What if he's like me? What if he can't control his wolf?’I realized I hadn't misheard. She was indeed having a boy. This meant I was going to be a father to a son.Zara whispered, “Hero.” My hand froze, unsure if she wanted me to stop. When she didn't say anything, I slowly moved my hands closer to her perfect tits."Yes," I

HERO POVLust pounded through me____a drumbeat echoing the frantic rhythm of my heart. I'd been with her before, but never on my own terms. Our first time was a whirlwind, a blur I didn't want to dwell on. This time, things would be different. Slow. Deliberate. I wanted to savor every touch, every stolen glance. This wasn't just about the act of sex. It was about making her feel cherished, adored, like the most precious thing in the world…I stared at her completely bare, Satisfaction thrummed through me as she drank me in, her eyes lingering on my chest and she slid to my Cock. I had never given much thought to my body, but I was proud of it now because she seemed pleased. I couldn't stand it any longer. Gently, I rolled her onto her back and positioned myself between her legs. Her core was warm and inviting, her folds soft against my skin. I pressed my hips against hers, feeling the familiar swell of her mound. Slowly, I guided my erection into her entrance, letting the tip graze h

ZARA POVThe morning sun streamed through the window, waking me with a jolt. Hero was gone. Disappointment, sharp and unexpected, pricked at me. I swung my legs over the side of the bed, the memory of the night still warm – not just the heat of his body, but the comforting weight of him beside me, the steady rhythm of his breath. It felt… safe. Secure. Like I was finally home.A knock on the door startled me. I padded over, heart pounding a little faster than it should. Jeremy stood there with a smile. “Are you my guard?” I asked, trying to keep my voice light, though my thoughts were still tangled in the lingering warmth of Hero's arms.I stepped out, closing the door behind me, the lingering scent of Hero still clinging to the sheets. I raked my hair back with my fingers, trying to shake off the memory, but it clung to me like a second skin.I felt like I should have hated what happened, but I couldn't. Now that he knew I was telling the truth, he was suddenly so sweet and kind. I s

ZARA POV"What the hell!" I yelled, trying to pull my hands free. But I wasn't being held. I was all alone, and it scared me.Sabrina's voice soothed me, calm and reassuring. “You're okay,” she said, her words echoing through the air. “I'm right here with you. You're still sitting in my living room. Just the two of us. Well, three if you count Walker, of course. You're safe. Hana's just a little lost, that's all. Oh, there she is!” Her voice brightened."Sabrina, I'm sorry," Hana gasped, her voice strained as if she'd just sprinted a mile. "You were going too fast for me."I spun around, but the world was a blur of swirling white. Snow. It was snowing. Big, fat flakes were falling so heavily I could barely see my own hand in front of my face. The wind howled, whipping the snow into a blinding frenzy. I felt a shiver crawl down my spine, not just from the cold, but from a deeper, more unsettling fear. Where was Sabrina? I couldn't see her anywhere.“Guys, where am I?” I questioned."We

ZARA POV"There is no need to be sad. There's a string, an invisible secret thread, that connects you to your wolf. This thread isn't just for you and your wolf; it can also help you find other connections, other bonds. We need to see if there are any of these threads around her, even if they're weak or broken.” Sabrina explained."So, wait," I said, scratching my head, "does this mean... I'll be, like, checking her fur for fleas or something?"Hana chuckled. "I'm afraid it's not going to be quite that simple, Zara. This is a very special thread, with very specific needs.”All of a sudden, the memory came rushing back. It felt like it was trying to burst out of me, like a wild animal trying to escape its cage. But it was messy, all jumbled up, and I couldn't make sense of it. I tried to grab onto it, to hold it steady, but it kept slipping away. “I'm sorry,” I said to the others, feeling frustrated. “I just can't seem to hold onto it.”"Don't worry about it," Sabrina said gently. ZARA POVThe air in the small room was thick with the scent of his cologne, a musky blend of sandalwood and something sharper, almost metallic. My breath hitched as his gaze swept over me, a slow, deliberate appraisal that made my skin prickle. The sound of the zipper sliding down, then the soft gasp that escaped my lips, seemed to echo in the sudden silence. He moved with a practiced ease, his hands sure and strong as they discarded the last vestiges of fabric. My legs trembled, with fear and a strange, unfamiliar excitement. I tried to brace myself against the cold marble floor, but my body seemed to melt beneath his touch. He lifted one of my legs, the smooth, cool surface of the marble a cool sensation against the warmth of his skin. I closed my eyes, the anticipation building to an almost unbearable crescendo. But instead of the rough, bruising force I had braced myself for, his touch was surprisingly gentle. A soft murmur escaped his lips, a low, appreciative sound that sent shi

ZARA POVThe moment, Hero touched me. The entire game was over, something shifted. It was like a fragile house of cards, built with so much effort and deceit, finally collapsing under the weight of his hand. I could lie easily, spin elaborate tales when no one was watching. I could pretend, become anyone I wanted, even fooling myself sometimes. But his touch, a simple brush of his fingers against my skin, shattered the illusion. The walls of my carefully constructed world began to tremble. They swayed, then crumbled, brick by brick. All the lies I'd built, all the ways I'd deceived myself, turned to dust. The air, once thick with the haze of my own manufactured reality, suddenly felt thin, suffocating. My carefully crafted mask, the one I wore so effortlessly, threatened to slip, revealing the truth beneath. And that was the terrifying part. The thought of him seeing the real me, the broken, frightened person hiding behind the facade, was unbearable. He pulled me up against his body,

HERO POV"I'm wondering, what do you think I should be aware of when dealing with Baxter, especially now that it seems like Elliot might be gone?” I questioned. Paxton arched an eyebrow, a skeptical glint in his eyes. “You're seriously concerned about whether Baxter will offer you tea and biscuits, aren't you? I'm more worried about whether he will consider you a tasty snack and proceed to decorate his lair with your bones.__ or are you worried that he will kill you and parade your body around the entire mountain as a trophy?”Zara tensed beside me, and gripped my arm so tightly I could see her knuckles turn white. I tried to stay calm, even though this was exactly the kind of situation we were always worried about. It was a possibility that hung over every trip we took, a constant threat lurking just beyond the edges of our vision. "Getting that information would definitely be helpful," I said, keeping my voice steady even though I was starting to feel a little uneasy"Honestly, I'm

HERO POV“Is this Elliot?” Paxton questioned before sliding a photo across the table. It was blurry, but there was no mistaking the face of the man who had saved Zara and claimed to be her mate.Cyrus's words about Elliot had made me furious, and the anger still hadn't subsided. Hours had passed since then, and I was now in Paxton's office with Zara and Finna. Finna had originally promised to explain everything to us. "You knew he was dealing drugs, and you didn't do anything to stop him? I can't believe you just let this happen!” I snarled angrily. "Elliot is more than just a drug dealer,” Finna said, her voice laced with a hint of worry. “We understand you're upset and angry right now, but it's important to remember that investigating matters within the rogue community is incredibly complex. We have been actively searching for him, but under a different name. You see, when he was a member of the Silver Moon Pack, he went by the name Fallon.”"Okay, get me on the line… I need to sp

ZARA POV"Hero," I began softly, my voice close to his ear, "you truly believe that after everything I've endured here, things can simply return to how they were before? I'm sorry, but that's utter nonsense. There's no way we can pretend this never happened. This mountain, these hurtful shared experiences you put me through... they've changed me. I can't unsee what I've seen and heard, or unfeel what I've felt. I’m different now, Hero, irrevocably different.”"I understand that I made a big mistake. I know how badly I treated you before, and I'm truly sorry for it. That was incredibly foolish of me. But please believe me, Zara. I meant every word I said last night. We can move past this and start fresh. I'm ready to move forward and try again.”‘Move forward.’ Was he even joking right now?"I understand it's tough to believe me after everything, but I've made a decision. If earning back your trust means proving how much you mean to me, I'll do absolutely anything. I'll move mountains,

ZARA POVThe air hung heavy, thick with the metallic tang of blood. Even before I saw him, the scent assaulted my nostrils, a jarring counterpoint to the usual sweetness that always clung to him. I didn't flinch, didn't react. Instead, I turned calmly, a practiced ease settling over me. I waited. He was catching up quickly, his long strides eating up the distance between us. "I sent Jeremy to escort you," Hero said, his voice a low rumble. His brow furrowed, a deep crease marrying his otherwise flawless features. "Shouldn't he be driving you? Why are you walking instead?" He scanned the deserted street, his gaze sharp and alert."Hey, I'm not disabled in my leg. In fact, walking is actually good for me, and I don't have anywhere I need to be right now. By the way, why do you have blood on you?" I said calmly.“We had a skirmish outside the border. Nothing that Paxton and his wolves couldn't handle.” he explained."I think you were there to see how they handled the situation," I said,

HERO POVTristan and I were walking towards Paxton's security office early that morning. The grounds weren't peaceful at all. Kids were running around in groups, some being chased by adults who were trying to get them to calm down. “You look different today,” Tristan noticed. “What's the good news?”A few old vehicles rumbled past – beat-up trucks, rugged jeeps, and even some rusty vans. I couldn't help but smile at the lively scene. It had been a long time since I'd spent a night completely free from responsibilities, simply enjoying the company of others. "I haven't slept well in a long time," I said. "It feels really good to be here now. I'm much more relaxed.”"Certainly, I hope it wasn't related to the sounds and screams… of pleasure I heard coming from down the hall last night. You know, those kinds of sounds that might make a person think, 'Tell me you want this… I want to hear you say it,'" he said with a cheerful grin, quickly jumping to his left as I turned to give him a wi
