(Nikita's P.O.V.)
I looked at the bracelet he was showing to me with enlarged eyes. It's my bracelet that mysteriously disappeared some time ago in the battleground. How did he get his hands into my stuff?
I've been wearing that since I was a child, and I treasure it a lot. Because this was left to me by my father! I suffered for a long time because I lost it, and it's the only connection I have with my father. My mother rarely talks about my father, and everyone in the pack is forbidden from talking about him. That's the reason for my pain.
There's no way he can have that unless he stole it.
Without hesitation, I loudly questioned him in the face, not caring about the presence of my mother and his parents.
"WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?!" I growled. . "DID YOU STEAL THAT FROM ME?!"
"Do you think so?" He gave a perfect fake smile, and I wanted to punch him in the face, but I knew I couldn't. I could only stare at him angrily.
"You better give it back to me, or I'm not sure how I will ruin your party. An alpha who is also a thief? Can your pack tolerate a thief managing them?" I snorted and said.
I believe my words angered him. He no longer played the gentleman. His smile disappeared, and his strong body pressed towards me. "Omega, my patience has its limits. If you don't put away your weak little claws, I am sure mine will soon find their way into your flesh."
I was scared by his alpha pressure. I couldn't breathe, and my eyes widened.
The pain in my shoulder brought me back to reality. His black claws had sunk into my flesh, and I was sure it was a deep wound. This was the first time I had seen Trojan, I was sure of it, but his eyes had been watching me like I was his prey, as if he had been lurking around me for a long time, just waiting for me to fall into his trap.
A chill ran down my spine. No! I was sure I didn't want him, but I was confused. Why didn't he reject me on the spot? What was he planning?
"Do you understand now?" His smile widened again, a sneer that showed he believed I was too weak to resist.
He let go of me, and I immediately ran out. I didn't have the appetite for anything, and every she-wolf at the party was dressed up in gorgeous attire. I tried to weave through the crowd. I needed a corner to be alone, but the corners were occupied by mated werewolves, kissing each other with their saliva, and even having sex in public!
Eww! I needed to get out of here!
My feet brought me to a huge protruding rock in the middle of nowhere. I sat there, huffing about how my mother gave away an important belonging of mine to a stranger just to give me away.
Does she want me out of her life so bad?
"Nikita!" I heard a female voice called.
I pretended to not hear her, and just kept my head low. I knew that my mother's Beta would follow me here. She's taken care of me more than my real mother. "Dear, are you okay?" she asked. She's the only person who dares to ask me that question. I sadly lifted my head to look at her.
"Beta Poppy..." I called in a kid-like voice. She sighed, tapping my head softly.
"Why are you so out of sorts today? Is something wrong?"
My face changed.
"D—Do you think Mother sent me here today to give as a gift to Alpha Trojan?" I asked bravely. I felt something sharp stabber my chest when she looked away. She's not answering just like when I asked about the bracelet earlier.
It looks like my suspicion is accurate after all.
Even my mother's Beta doesn't want to answer because she knows I'm right.
"Nikita..."
I scooted away when she tried to touch me.
"I don't want a mate. I will live alone for the rest of my life!" I blurted, blaring my teeth. She looked at me with worried eyes. "And I will take over the pack..."
**********
(Trojan's P.O.V.)
I watched her walk out of the scene, marching towards the forest. Alpha Lucia's Beta deliberately followed her. I worriedly looked at the spot where they disappeared from. There could be rogues there. It was too late for me to realize that I'm already moving my legs to chase after them.
She walked so fast, and I almost lost her, but I used my senses to track her scent.
I found her sitting on a huge rock. She was looking down and silent. I was about to approach her when the Beta suddenly appeared. I chose to hide behind the big tree and watched them.
"Why the hell are you hiding?" Lupus vexed inside my head.
"Shut up," I scolded in a whispering voice, making him snarled.
I carefully listened to the conversation between Nikita and the Beta. She is comforting Nikita, but their peaceful conversation soon turned hot when she asked about Alpha Lucia's true intention in bringing her here, and the Beta failed to respond.
She stands up frantically.
"I don't want a mate. I want to live alone for the rest of my life!"
My eyes turned dark.
"And I'm going to take over the pack," she promised. Beta Poppy tried to reach for her again, but she rejected her touch.
"Did we just get rejected?!" my wolf asked angrily. I clenched my jaw, looking at the bracelet I'm keeping in my hand. "Don't just stand there and listen to her. She can't reject us! She has no right!" Lupus whined. I closed my fist and put the bracelet inside my pocket, turning my back to leave.
Lupus didn't leave me alone. He kept complaining, and instructing me what to do. I already reached the venue. I'm currently buttoning the suit I'm going to wear for the vows later.
I know that my wolf is upset after hearing Nikita's words. He really liked her, but she broke our hearts.
I'm just silent outside, but so many things are running inside my head.
"Why don't you just announce to everyone that Nikita is your mate?" Lupus suggested desperately. I could hear the change of the tone of his voice. His sadness has shifted into anger, and now he's giving me inappropriate ideas.
"We are Alpha, Trojan. No Alpha can tolerate being rejected by a mate."
I pretended to not hear him, and just proceeded to tying my tie.
"I wish you'd just stand on that stage, and tell everyone that she is our mate on the spot. She would have nowhere to go after that. She can't reject us!"
I checked myself in front of the mirror.
Should I let her reject me?
(Nikita's P.O.V.)I went back to the venue and left Beta Poppy shortly after. I kind of regret raising my voice at her. I knew that she only wanted to comfort me and that she was just following orders. I shouldn't have let my temper get the best of me.I'm just a little worried that Alpha Trojan will announce me as his mate later. How should I react to that?I don't want to hear it, and I might lose my temper and attack him on the spot."Nikita..." Alpha Lucia called me in a small but stern voice. I forced myself to look at her in spite of the feeling of sulking I have towards her. "I want you to watch the ceremony carefully." She gave me a commanding look. I nodded my head in a yielding manner. It looks like I'm going to be forced to watch the man I hate speaking in front of me.I calmed myself and looked at the stage."Thank you for coming, everyone. I appreciate each and every one of you for being present at my son's oath-taking ceremony," Alpha Leon started his opening message. I
(Nikita's P.O.V.)I sat in the backseat of the limousine, watching the view from the window. In front of me is Alpha Lucia, who's angry right now. She hasn't looked at me since Alpha Trojan's announcement on stage about his mate relationship status. The other part of me wants to celebrate what he did because that's what I wanted. I didn't want him to announce our mate relationship straight away. I was treated with a lot of injustice as an omega, and everyone in the pack thought I didn't earn my respect through my strength.Rather, it was due to the fact that my mother was an alpha. If I am once again declared to be the destined mate of an alpha, imagine how I could abandon the chains that these identities have brought me.My intention is to be seen by all as bringing an aura of my own and not relying on my mate to win the crown.I'm pretty sure that's not what I want. That's why I looked at him straight in the eyes earlier, unintentionally begging him to just not say anything about it
(Nikita's P.O.V.)A week has passed since I joined the Blue Moon Pack's training program. When my mate Trojan announced the program, I honestly had expectations within me; it was truly a great program; no one in werewolf history had ever done this before. The breeding population of werewolves is decreasing year by year; this is because many of them have a mate who is not in their pack. Just like my mate would surprisingly be alpha of the Blue Moon pack, if I had not attended Trojan's ordination ceremony, I would never have found my mate.So Trojan's foresight is to be recognized and appreciated. But with the good side of everything, there is inevitably a bad side as well. Unequal treatment due to rank is encountered in any community, and here is no exception.I was an Omega, but I did not respond to the bullying with silence, which made mine stand out, and my locker was always full of surprises.I stood in front of my locker, took a deep breath, and when I pulled open the door after c
(Nikita's P.O.V.)As I was about to lunge toward her, the class bell rang."I won't let you off the hook next time." She dropped the words and ran out in a mess.I spent the entire morning class wandering, and thankfully I didn't miss much. I couldn't call it a class because the trainer didn't really do anything aside from giving us his motivational speeches that were out of touch with reality. It was lunchtime, and I went to the canteen. The cafeteria here is buffet style, and since I don't have friends for obvious reasons, I had to eat alone, which is not really a problem, by the way. I like my peace. The food here isn't really that bad, but if you don't like meatballs that look like dog food, then I wouldn't recommend you go to this school, especially if you're an Omega like me. They serve different foods depending on your rank.Of course, the Alphas get to eat premium dishes like steak. The same goes for Betas, who get to eat real meat while Omegas suffer from these meatballs that
(Nikita's P.O.V.)I didn't want my weakness to be seen by my mate.Yes, the man who came was my mate, Alpha Trojan, who was still wearing a premium cut suit, his toned pecs still grabbing me even though they were hidden under the black shirt. My body still hurt and I tried to stand up, but I had no strength at the moment."Trojan! Why are you here?" Clara immediately stuck to Trojan like a whore, Tala let out a disapproving roar, but Trojan didn't push her away as we were expecting, instead he pets her on her head.My heart felt the sting, how could he be close to another woman in front of his mate?"What's going on here?" Trojan didn't answer Clara's question, his eyes looked at me without any enthusiasm for the mate, he was calm, as if he didn't know me."It's nothing Trojan, it's chaos making Omega and we're teaching her the rules," Clara said ahead of me.I remained silent, even though I didn't want him to claim me as his mate, it didn't mean he could help others ignore me. I was
(Trojan's P.O.V.)I watched my partner leave sadly wounded and my heart ached, especially when I saw the wounds on her body, how dare Clara? But compared to that, the look in Nikita's eyes as she tried to deny me made my heart ache even more.I saw the look in her eyes that avoided me, the Luna that all she-wolves want to be as long as they haven't mated yet, why? She was so disgusted with me.But even then, I was still worried for her and I told everyone there could be no more violence or they would be punished no matter what the family behind her was."Clara, how dare she?" My wolf Lupus said angrily, his paws about to appear in my face, but I stopped him.I knew for sure that our partners would not intentionally create chaos. Clara grew up as an arrogant girl. She thinks she's a good actress and she wants to be my Luna, but before even when I didn't find my own Luna, I refused any overtures from her, but I wouldn't have embarrassed her. Her brother is still my beta...And my visit
(Nikita's P.O.V.)I know being an Alpha is busy, they never have enough to deal with, they need to be responsible for the development of their pack, they need to make sure everyone in their pack is fed and has better living conditions, and they need to make sure they are not lazy and actively training to make sure they don't get their guts emptied when they meet a rogue and stand over the rogue's corpse and give him the middle finger. So, I came to this school thinking I wouldn't meet Trojan until I was done with the "upgrade", but he came and denied me again. It was as if my bones had been broken twice, but I thought the day was bad enough when Principal George's fat body got in my way again.I chose to ignore him because I really didn't have any energy left to deal with anything else right now."Nikita, I got a report that you were in a mob fight in the cafeteria.""What do you mean?" I squeezed the words out of my teeth."I need you to come with me to my office for questioning." He
(Trojan's P.O.V.)"You shouldn't be satisfied with what you are right now, Trojan. To be an Alpha is a continuous room for improvement."When I walked into my father's office, my father started repeating his teachings again."Dad, I think you're too nervous, you need to go on a trip with my mother, all alpha's do that after their son takes over the position, don't they?" I frowned."I would, but do you think that our pack being so strong is brought on by my laxity?" Alpha Leon's brow furrowed."Son, I will not put our pack in danger, even if I am no longer an alpha. But I feel it is still my duty to protect the Blue Moon pack, and I'm sure your mother feels the same way."I had always resisted my father's assertiveness, and despite my mother's constant urging for him to have faith in me, he still joined the Council after he retired. He still wanted to spy on me.I looked at him with the omega's training itinerary in his hand, and I swallowed back my retort as I remembered Thomas' word
