Emery

Two days have passed, and it’s a great relief that Lyle is now okay. I watched over him for the past two days, so I haven’t had the chance to explain myself to Kairo yet. However, I still want to make this right.

I was sitting near the living room window when Desiree poked my arm, “Hey, how are you?”

“I’m okay,” I responded with a smile, even if it didn’t reach my eyes.

“I heard that Lyle’s better now,” She said while rubbing my arm. I felt comforted.

“Yeah, I visited him for the past two days, and he seems to be fully recovered now. It’s a good thing that his parents listened to me and understood the whole situation.”

“But you didn’t even do anything wrong! You don’t have to explain yourself.” She said, shaking my arm. “I know! What if we get Lyle to talk to the Alpha? Surely Alpha Kairo would forgive you if the v

EmeryI kept to myself for the whole day, but that isn’t really possible anymore since tonight’s the inauguration ceremony of Dalton and Dante, and everyone is required to attend. I sighed as I looked at myself in the mirror. My eyes were still a little bit swollen from yesterday night’s episode, so I splashed my face with cold water to calm them down.I was already late for the ceremony because I slept in the afternoon— a result of my lack of sleep from yesterday night. If Desiree didn’t text me to come down because the after-event was still currently ongoing, I probably wouldn’t have attended it at all.I reluctantly went down and saw the three—Dalton, Dante, and Desiree, sitting on one table. They were waving for me to come over to their table. I smiled at them tiredly and quickened my pace to get to them faster.“Congratulations, guys!” I said while sitting down on the chair.“We

My body was heating up even more, but this time it wasn’t because of pain.He growled, and I could feel his labored breaths near my lips, leaving a hot, tingling sensation that made me crave for more.I reached out to him, wanting to get closer to his lips, but he bowed his head down and started sniffing my neck.“Fuck, why did you have to be here tonight?” He asked in a pained voice.I moaned because his lips, paired with his hot breath grazed upon my neck when he was talking. My mind was so jaded that I didn’t even notice that we were already moving. He carried me effortlessly and walked without any reservation.“Wait… Desiree…” I whined out, but he only tightened his hold on me and quickened his

EmeryTwo Lines. Two red lines. Shit. It’s positive. How could this happen so fast? I walked restlessly in the bathroom while looking at the pregnancy test on my hand. Could this be a dream? I slapped myself awake but groaned when I felt the sharp pain. Nope, this is definitely not a dream.I took another test and ripped the packaging open with my hands. I took it once again and waited until the timer was up. Please, let it be a blunder. I held my hands together as I closed my eyes in anxiety. The timer went off once again, and I looked at the test without opening my eyes.Don't worry, it’s just a mistake. I can't be pregnant that fast, right? I can’t bear Kairo’s child when he’s not even talking with me right now. I’ll open my eyes in3...2...1…Two red lines still stared back at me, and I couldn’t help but sigh in defeat. It’s still positive.

Emery“I’m pregnant.”I heard metalware clanging with the ceramic plates, and I looked as everyone looked at Amelia with shock.I thought those exact words would be coming straight from my mouth, but they didn’t. It was from Amelia’s.She looked at us with teary eyes and turned to Kairo. “You’re going to be a father, babe.” She said while making her way to him and hugging his frozen stature. His eyes were blank, and he looked ahead on an empty space.Everyone was still silent. I was expecting to hear a “Congratulations,” but we were met with deafening silence. She moved away from Kairo and started speaking once again.“I know that this may come as a surprise to all of you, and I honestly thought that I could hide it a little bit more. But, I thought it would be best for all of you to know since you’re all Kairo’s dear friends and family.”

EmeryI held the letter that my mom gave me and placed it back in the envelope. I wiped my eyes dry and decided that I didn’t want to waste any more tears. I don’t want to prolong this anymore. I looked around my room with a determined look on my face and fetched a worn-out backpack from the back of my closet. I stuffed as many clothes that I could in the big backpack, making sure that my mom’s clothes were included.I pulled out my phone and typed in the location that was written on the letter.“#1614, Brittia Street, Kvenland Village”It was 16 hours away if I traveled by train. I can make it there tomorrow evening if I move now. I pulled out my piggy bank and the birthday gifts I received from the pack elders. I counted the money. Hmm, this should be enough for a 2-day trip.I stealthily moved out of the house, making sure not to leave any trace. I looked once more at the house that I called home f

KairoIt’s Emery’s birthday today. I don’t exactly know why but her birthday stuck to me when I read it in her records. I was actually the one who reminded my mom, but I didn’t know that she would plan a whole party for the event.I was in the dining room with the other attendants, and we were waiting for Emery to come down. Amelia was beside me, rambling on and on about a topic that I didn’t care about, but I paid her no attention. For some reason, I was feeling nervous. I feel like something’s going to happen today. I just don’t know whether it’d be good or bad.My thoughts were interrupted when I saw a beautiful figure coming inside the room. The noise suddenly became muffled, and all I could see was her. She was wearing an emerald mermaid-cut dress that hugged all of her curves. The color of the dress even matched the color of her eyes, making them pop in the room’s lighting. She was like an ange

  • The Alpha's Hidden Child   Chapter 29: The Explanation

EmeryWe stared at each other, both with wide eyes. Fuck, I didn’t mean to say that. I covered my mouth and turned away quickly. I attempted to leave because I didn’t want to explain anything yet, but my father held onto my arm.“What did you just say?” He looked at me, perplexed. “Am I hearing right? Did you just say…. baby? Then, why…. why are you here?”I looked at him with tears in my eyes. I was so tired. I’ve been enduring the pain all alone these past few days. I broke down in front of the man that hasn’t seen me for more than ten years. He looked at me, worried, and placed my head onto his shoulder. I sobbed into his shoulder, my breathing becoming ragged. He held me, and I hadn’t felt this warmth in such a long time. Was this what it’s like to have a family?“What’s wrong with my baby girl? Is it me? Come, I’m sorry. I’m sorry.”

EmeryI was lying in bed thinking how bizarre this day had been. I met my father, and I thought we wouldn't even be able to talk to each other, much more explain both of our situations to each other.I thought back to what he said had earlier,“You might just be carrying the strongest infant in the entire world.” I was amazed but was not surprised. Alpha Kairo has always been superior in every aspect, and his genes will most definitely come through in this child. I thought that I wouldn’t be able to contribute anything to this child’s strength, but I might have just given him one of the most dangerous genes in the world.I sighed. This was a blessing and a curse at the same time. I’m happy because the child will grow up to be able to protect oneself, but I’m also worried about the malicious intentions that other people have towards Lycans.Speaking off, am I really half-Lycan? Why have I

They looked like a perfect family, and they are! However, Emery and Laura started talking hushedly and giggling as the dessert was served. Kairo leaned closer to her lovely ladies in an attempt to hear their conversation. Laura turned to her swiftly and scooted closer to her mom. “What are you doing, dad? Can’t you see that mom and I are talking?” Kairo pouted and bitterly ate his black forest cake. “You’ve changed. You used to tell everything to daddy. But I guess you’re too cool for that now.” Laura is now in middle school, and Kairo has been feeling melancholic these past few days. He feels like time is moving too fast, and his once cute children can now live without depending on him. Laura sighed and pushed her seat back in its original placement. “I always tel

You could have signed me up for a hotdog-eating event, horseback racing, corn tending, you could have even signed me up for a Japanese karaoke reality show, and I wouldn’t hesitate to agree. But this! This is too much!” I said and shook my head.Karina went over to me and shook my shoulders. “Oh, come on, Dalton! The music in the background only amplified my beauty, and I couldn’t help but look at myself in wonder. However, my self-loving session ended when someone turned off the music. I turned around to scold the culprit and saw my mom.“Mom! What are you doing in my room? Privacy, please!” I said exasperatedly. She gave me a tired look and went beside me. “Arlo, please. I love you very much, and you’re a very handsome boy. But you’re turning borderline narcissistic. You’ve been hanging out too long with your uncle Dalton. Kairo went all out and booked an expensive hotel just outside the city for Emery and him.“Are we really leaving our kids to him?” Emery asked.“Hey! What’s wrong with me?” Dalton asked, distastefulness heard in his voice. “Just look at the kids! They’re so behaved now that I’m here.”After Dalton said that statement, Laura pushed off the contents of the living room table while Arlo chased Devyn with a worm. It seems like the house became more chaotic with Dalton just being there.Emery looked at him incredulously. “Are you serious?” She turned back to Kairo and held onto his shoulders. “Let’s have our date some other time, okay? Maybe when the kids get older.”

KairoToday, Emery is taking Arlo and Devyn to their monthly haircut, so I had to stay at home to take care of baby Laura all by myself. Laura is now three years old, and she’s the most energetic that she’s ever been. She wasn’t awake yet at the moment, so I had some time to breathe for myself.Emery had just finished arranging the boys’ bags when I went behind her to give her a back hug.She chuckled and turned around. She brought her arms around my neck and gave me a peck on my pouty lips. “What are you acting like a big baby for?” She asked softly.“You’re leaving me alone,” I whined.Emery chuckled. “I’m only going to take the boys for their haircut. It’s only going to take two hours at most. Besides, this is going to be a great opportunity for you to exercise your fatherhood. You haven’t even tried being alone with Laura now that she’s a toddler.”

  • The Alpha's Hidden Child   Special Chapter: The First Words

Third Person’s POV Time flew by pretty quickly, and baby Laura is now a year old. Being an exceptional baby, she quickly developed the skills of a toddler, even as an infant. At a year old, she can already walk and write basic letters. She can even hum a tune! However, what is strange among all of these, is that she hasn’t uttered her first words yet. There were plenty of times when it felt like she was finally going to say her first words, but she sure does know how to play push-and-pull. Since everybody’s anticipating her first words, they’ve placed bets among themselves on what her first words are going to be. The group of friends was sitting on the floor in the living room. Along with them were Arlo, Devyn, and the grandparents. Crassus slammed his foot down the floor and intimidatingly looked at all of them. “I’m telling you right now. Laura’s first words will be ‘mama.’ It will always be ‘mama.’ Every other child that I’ve known

I couldn’t believe that they have the audacity to take their numbers when we were literally next to them!” Karina rambled.“Right? And can’t that blondie even see my baby bump? Like hello? Third Person’s POVThe group of friends was currently sitting down on their living room couch, huddled over Kairo’s laptop. It was pretty late at night, so the kids had all gone to sleep. They were currently watching gender reveal parties on a video platform.Different kinds of snacks were laid down on the table, and only the sound of the videos, along with their munching, could be heard in the room. They were on their fifth video now, but each member’s reaction was still lukewarm. Tired from all the mediocre gender reveal parties, Dalton roughly shut down the laptop and stood up.“I’m sick and tired of these videos. They’re too boring! It’s not enough for the unborn child of the strongest Alpha in the world and a Lycan. We need to go beyond all of these! We need to invite every pack that we can and show the world just how precious your future child is. Who’s with me?” He exclaimed with exaggerated motions.
