Author’s POV…
It hurt so much seeing what he did to her father. Growing up, despite how badly her father treated her, Alexa never thought she would shed this much tears seeing he was no more. Alexa still loved her dad, despite his ill-treatment towards her, and now, he was gone. She couldn’t control herself from weeping so hard in front of Logan. She didn’t care what he thought. Alexa had just lost someone valuable to her, and she needed to express her grief for the last time she would see him. Then she heard his threatening words. “You can cry from now till tomorrow, Lexie. That will not make me feel any pity for you. In fact, your tears will only make me give you more punishment. Maybe you will even cry harder after then.” Those words sounded so familiar; they reminded her of the kind of life she had back in the blue scorpion pack house when Alexa would do something wrong, or rather, something her father thought wrong. Depending on his mood, he might go as far as nearly beating her to death. Alexa would lay on the ground, bleeding, crying, praying that she would just close her eyes and never wake up again. Then her father would say: “Cry all you want, Alexa. It will not make me feel any sorry for you, in fact, I will even hit you twice as hard so you can cry even more, you murderer!” Alexa used to hear those words all the time. Then, she would remind herself of the day she would come of age, the day she would leave this place to be with her mate, the day she would not have to endure such torture any longer. Alexa could only hope for that day, and so that was what gave her strength. In the words that were supposed to hurt her the most, the words that were supposed to make her feel like it was worthless to carry on, those were the words Alexa used to encourage herself that it would get better one day. So, those words were like a default setting for her. When Alexa heard those words from her oppressor, she would look him squarely in the eye and tell him with her expression that no matter how hard you tried to break her, you would never succeed because no matter what, Alexa would always keep fighting. And that was how she faced Logan after he said those words to her. Her reaction shocked him, and she was probably expecting some slaps or a punch in the nose like her father would whenever she gave him that bold face. Instead, he surprised her, dropping the knife he held to the ground. “Simon!” He called. Another handsome young man with the same build as Logan entered her dungeon room. He had a dominating presence, much less than the alpha but significantly more than that of an ordinary omega. Alexa could tell that he was the beta. “Yes, alpha Logan?” Simon answered him as he entered. He motioned his head, referring to the open box and the blood-stained sword. “Get someone to clean that up,” he ordered before leaving her dungeon room. After Beta Simon carried out the instructions, Alexa was left all alone in her dungeon room, back to the cold floor, and back to her lonely thoughts. She recalled what had just happened with Logan. For a second there, he appeared helpless on what to do. It almost seemed as if she had some control over him. Alexa thought of the way she responded to his words, maybe she shouldn’t have, but it wasn’t her fault; it wasn’t something she could control. And besides, Logan needed to know that she was innocent; she was not meant to be here. Alexa had no involvement nor say in any of the things her father did. It was meaningless for him to be keeping her here. *** Logan didn’t know why the goddess would wish him such bad luck by mating him with her, but just like the day his parents died, life is filled with things you don’t expect. She sounded so innocent. He wanted to believe her. He almost believed her, but not until he realized that these might just be acts of hers to make him feel sorry for her. The apple never falls far from the tree, and as far as he is concerned, anyone so close to Danister would be just as evil and corrupted as he was. After seeing what remained of her father, she wept uncontrollably. It was hard to say anything else to her as all her sobbing noises filled the dungeon room. How was he supposed to threaten and terrorize her with his words if she kept crying like that? Logan needed to let her know that crying would not get her far in this new life she found herself in, so he let out those words. “You can cry from now till tomorrow, Lexie. That will not make me feel any pity for you. In fact, your tears will only make me give you more punishment, maybe you will even cry harder after then.” After hearing his voice, she suddenly wiped her tears, raising her head to face him squarely, boldly. It was strange; Logan never said any words of encouragement to her, and yet, she somehow found strength in his words. *** As he exited the dungeon, Logan tried to think about what had just happened back there. He didn’t know what to do when she stared at him like that. It was like he was lost in the admiration of her strength and boldness. Damn this mate bond! In normal circumstances, a prisoner would not dare to do what Lexie had just done. Logan was meant to punish her severely, but he didn’t know why he felt helpless in those two seconds she stared at him. With no other option, and to avoid standing there looking stupid, he quickly called Simon in to clear up the mess. He thought about the things she said as he walked, the reason her pack members treated her that way. Could they be true? It would seem absurd for wolves to think that an infant could be responsible for killing its mother, but in the blue scorpion pack, you just never know. Logan still didn’t trust her or anything she said or tried to make him believe, despite the bond he shared with her. He had good reason not to, as he could never trust anything that came from the seed of Danister. At the dungeon gates, he met the new guards who had just taken over the morning shift from the night guards. They had the longest shifts and, therefore, would be seeing more of the prisoners. Logan called them before he finally left the gates of the prison. “There’s a new prisoner,” he told them. “I’m sure you all are aware of our victory against the blue scorpion pack last night. We have killed Danister, and now it remains his daughter who is left behind in this prison.” “Yes, sire. We are all aware of that,” they told her. “I want you to be careful of her. She might seem innocent, but don’t believe anything she tries to put on for you to show her mercy. Treat her no different from the other rugged prisoners. Do you understand me?” “Yes, sire,” they all chorused. And then Logan left the prison. Kara would be in her room by now. He didn’t want to keep her waiting there for too long.Author’s POV…The Alpha and his men had already returned to the pack house, and now in the dungeons, it remained the prisoners, both old and new, along with the prison wardens and guards. It was time for morning duties, after which the prisoners would have breakfast. Alexa’s back ached from sleeping on the cold ground. Her clothes and body were covered in black dust, and she looked far from neat. It was torture having to carry out morning duties; Alexa was meant to accompany the female prisoners to the farms to clear up weeds and take care of animals, but instead, the prison guards made her go along with the men to mine rocks from the quarries. She already knew the reason for the level of hate she received from this new place; what confused her was how everyone suddenly knew her to be Danister’s daughter. She didn’t share a cell with anyone; Logan made sure of that, and other than him, she hadn’t communicated with anyone else since she got here.As she passed among the remaining priso
Alexa’s POV… I told myself not to do it; my wolf also told me not to do it, but I just couldn’t help it. Everyone has been terrible to me since the moment I came here, but not none of them beats the way these guys treated me. I know; I should have had more control over my anger. I should have stopped myself from beating the two of them to a pulp, but whenever I tried to be gentle, I heard the words of my trainer, who also happened to be the blue scorpion Beta, Coach Vader, ringing loudly in my ears. “You are a princess. You have to be fierce. You must always stand your ground. You must never let anyone treat you any lower than you should be.” I could fight and defend myself quite alright; I could have chosen to beat up all the Blue Scorpion wolves that had mistreated me. But apart from the intervention from my father, for the sake of not wanting to hurt anyone, I kept that part of myself under lock for a long time. But this time, I don’t know the reason for my lack of control
Author's POV… "How could you say such a thing? Why are you still keeping her alive?" Kara yelled at the top of her voice. Alpha Logan sighed tiredly. He was not in the mood for Kara’s troubles today. No doubt, she would be angry after hearing about his decision to spare Danister's daughter’s life. He just wished he’d earlier prepared himself for Kara’s outburst. "She is the daughter of that bastard who killed and wiped out your family. You should have slaughtered her the moment you laid eyes on her. Is that not what he did to your father?” “Enough, Kara!” Kara’s voice lessened. “I’m sorry if I went too far with my words. It’s just so hard for me to comprehend. What's your reason for keeping her alive?” “Rather than worrying yourself about the decisions I choose to take, why not focus on your own life? If you want to be my Luna, you must try to get the Red Lotus wolves to accept you. I’ve heard a lot of complaints about you recently, Kara, and it’s not very encouraging. You
Author's POV… Alexa guessed that Alpha Logan wouldn't give her a chance to talk with the way he sounded. He was furious. "But.. I am…innocent," she managed to say in a weak voice. "You still have the guts to talk, right?" Kara wanted to pounce on her again, but Logan drew her back. "Stay out of this. I will take care of it." He then turned to Alexa, whose knees remained on the floor. "I hate your pretence and how you're faking your innocence. You deserve to die, I gave you a chance to live, but you just lost that chance." Logan glared at her coldly, and she suddenly began releasing tears she'd been holding for a long time. "I am innocent. I didn't do anything wrong. I was only trying to defend myself. I never meant for anything bad to happen. Please believe me." Alexa begged in tears as she shook in fear. Her sobbing suddenly began ringing in Logan's head, and he shook his head. ‘She won't deceive me this time.’ He promised himself silently. Part of him was starting to have c
Authors POV… Soon, Kara placed her head downwards. She took his hairless cock in her mouth, savouring his taste. Her tongue swirled over him, his pre cum weeping, exploding her taste buds. He lifted her head and pushed her back to the bed, positioning himself between her thighs. Logan plunged into her slowly, making her release a loud gasp full of pleasure. He rocked back and forth, making sure she was not in any pain, before gripping her hips and thrusting further. Harder and faster! Kara felt the wave rise inside her before exploding into a frenzy, gripping his cock tightly with each pulsing of electricity as she came. He fucked her harder and faster. Squealing and moaning, Kara came again. Slowing down, he pulled out and told her in between breaths. “Now it’s your turn. Show me what Kara can do.” “My pleasure.” Pulling her onto him, he looked at her, “lean back,” he said. With his hands on her forearms, she leaned back as she sank onto him. “Holy shit!” She screamed as t
Alexa's POV… I opened my eyes slowly, realising I had just woken up in a bright room. I could hardly recognise where I was as I looked around. ‘Where am I?’ I asked myself. Severe pains travelled throughout my entire body, making me feel an unusual sort of weakness. I tried to get up, but that only seemed to reawaken the pain as the wounds began to sting me badly. I suddenly began to recall what had happened. I'm supposed to be dead by now, right? I couldn't have possibly survived being flogged till the next day. Did Alpha Logan pity me and order his guards to stop lashing me? I got more confused as I asked myself numerous questions. I managed to sit up, noticing the thin bed I was lying on was soaked with my blood. I wondered how I got here; I couldn't have walked into this room by myself. I knew I was forgetting something and tried straining my brain to remember. ‘Think deeply; there's something you're forgetting,’ Kim confirmed and just then, I remembered how I got here.
Alexa's POV… "Do you like him?" I asked her bluntly without thinking. Selina then stopped treating me and faced me with a blank expression. "Do you want me to die young? How can a slave like a beta of a pack? I just admire his personality and nothing else. Please don’t utter such words again. We might get into trouble if anyone hears you say something like that," she warned and got back into dressing my wounds. "I am sorry," I apologised, turning my head back. I could feel her smile even though I couldn't see her face as I lay on my tummy. "Does it still sting?" She asked as she caressed my back. I shook my head. She was right, the sting only lasted for a moment, and now the pain has reduced. "You should rest after this treatment so it can heal faster; you will be in pain for a few days because your wounds are severe." She stated. "Ouch!" I winced. "Sorry." "How did you become a slave?" I started another conversation to distract myself from the pain. "I got saved by Be
Author's POV… All eyes turned to Alexa as they waited for her answer. Kara burned with immense anger. Alpha Logan never discussed this with her, and the fact that she is just finding out now, along with everybody else, makes her so mad! All she came here to witness was a death sentence, but Alpha Logan gave her a chance to live. Not just that, he let her choose from two options when it's obvious he knew the one she would go for. "I choose to be your slave, and I promise to be loyal. I will always abide by all your rules and orders." Alexa promised, and the murmuring among those present increased, much louder than before. It was clear none of them was satisfied with Alpha Logan's decision. "From today henceforth, you're nothing more than my slave! You have till the end of today to rest, and then, you will start work effectively from tomorrow." Alpha Logan pronounced with authority. He had thought about his discussion with Simon all through the night and decided to follow the Bet
"I used to be the well-respected Lady Kara. Everyone feared me! No one beneath me dared to so much as look me in the eye or remain sitting whenever I walked into a room, but now, I've lost everything! My life, my status, my man, all gone! I've become a nobody all because of that bitch who suddenly came and stole everything from me. I hate her so much!!!" It seems the battle she fought so hard for had been lost by Omega Kara, and she is now left to rot and suffer in a cruel world full of people just like her former self. But does the goddess give second chances? Is it possible for the darkest and evilest of hearts to turn a new leaf and become pure and white as snow? With all of her past behaviours, Kara was deemed the devil herself; now it's time for her to pay for her crimes and receive her dose of the same pain and suffering she caused others. But what will happen when the moon goddess decides not just to give her another chance to mend her ways but also an unexpected mate? The m
Alexa's POV…Logan was reluctant, but after pleading, he decided to trust me as much as he did before. After he ordered his men to leave the room, I turned from him to Kara."You can have anything you want, Kara. You want Logan. Fine. I will leave this pack with Alvin and never return. You can have him then, your queenship, your Luna title and everything else I took from you, I'll give it back. Please, just spare the child.""You must think I am a fool, Alexa. You think I don't know what Logan will do to me the minute this child is in safety. Besides, I know he doesn't want me anymore. So, thank you for your offer, but no. I'm not interested. Killing Alvin will be more satisfying because I know it's more realistic than getting married to Logan.""You might not have the Luna position or all you desired any longer, Kara, but that still doesn't mean your life won't be meaningful. I know things didn't go as planned for you
Alexa's POV…The day ended with Alpha Carl apologizing to Logan and I for the intended attack. He also wished us the best in our union before retreating with the Crescent Moon soldiers. Logan had a short meeting with the elders where they planned Vader's execution date and also agreed to free the soldiers who confessed and send them back to the Blue Scorpion pack. There was not enough time to discuss much, so we fixed another meeting, but for the first time I'd been in this pack, the elder's faces weren't filled with scowls as they saw me. Instead, I saw glints of pride and happiness on their faces. They were happy because I averted the war, and it made them change their perceptions of me. The short meeting ended with Elder Andrew saying. "We will have to pause here, it's been a long day, and since we've discussed the basics, we will arrange another meeting to give honour to whom it is due." He passed a warm smile in my direction, and so did the other elders before they got up and le
Alexa’s POV…I looked over at Logan; he was standing right there with Simon, giving me an assuring look that said he trusted me, so he let me handle it. Another person I was glad to see was Kara. She was on the other side of the terrain with Vader and Carl. No doubt, they’d been working together. If only she and Carl knew who they’d been working with. My vision gave Carl the reaction I expected. He was beginning to falter in his resolve to trust Vader fully. I continued with what I had in mind. “I know you’re still pondering what to do, Alpha Carl, but let me ask you this question. How long have you known Vader? I’m guessing it’s only been for a few months. I have known him for the greater part of my life, and I have always known that he is up to no good. The Vader I know never likes to serve under anyone. He always wants all the power for himself, and he had planned to kill Alpha Danister before Logan’s attack.” “Enough!” Vader growled. “There are many things I will tolerate, but
Alexa's POV..."Carl, I implore you to listen to me. Vader has never been one to serve under anyone. He craves power and control for himself and will stop at nothing to achieve it. He orchestrated the plan to kill Danister before Logan's attack, and he's manipulating you into trusting him." I persisted. "I'm getting tired of your accusations, Alexa. Vader has proven his loyalty time and again. I will not allow you to tarnish his reputation with your baseless claims." Alpha Carl said. "I understand that it's difficult to accept, Carl. But the evidence is there if you're willing to look. Vader's desire for power has always been evident. He thrives on manipulation and deceit. If you continue to trust him blindly, he will lead you down a treacherous path." "Enough of this nonsense, Alexa! Your attempts to tarnish my name are pathetic. Alpha Carl, do not be swayed by her lies. She is desperate and will say anything to undermine our unity." Vader interrupts. "Vader, your attempts to sil
Alexa's POV... The tension in the air was palpable as the two werewolf armies stood opposite each other. The moon hung high in the dark sky, casting an eerie glow on the battlefield. The growls and snarls of the werewolves filled the night, echoing through the surrounding forest. On one side, a pack of fierce, muscular werewolves with dark, matted fur and glowing yellow eyes awaited their adversaries. A notorious group known for their cunning strategies and ruthless nature. Led by their alpha, a massive and imposing figure with a silver-streaked mane, they were determined to claim victory. Before they could charge at each other, I appeared at the forefront, ready to end this madness and try to stop this battle without losing so many lives. I had a plan, I didn't know if it could work, but I had to at least try. I directed my attention towards the orchestrator. I already knew what to say. "Carl, listen carefully. Vader, your right-hand man, is a treacherous snake. He orchestrated
Alexa's POV...But the peace and quiet were not to last. Now officially married, although in secrecy, I could feel some form of bond with Logan. Yes, we had always been mates, but it seemed like the moment I said I do, I could feel a stronger, almost permanent bond with him. It seemed like our promise to each other over a year ago had been officially sealed; I was now forever his life mate. Each night, in each other's arms, felt different; the feel of his arms around me felt different nowadays. I could tell when he was angry, moody, sad, frightened. It was as if I could clearly read his emotions. The past few days were just like the last week, with the men and trained guards working extra hard in training and mastering new weapons and skills. Simon had once come to me and told me of his plan to convince Logan to go out and try to find out who had attacked them and why.I knew it was a waste of time; I knew Vader well enough to know that he cou
Alexa's POV...For the first twenty seconds, it seemed like all I could do was simply stare at Logan. Not only was I very shocked, but I could feel the uncertainty creeping in. Was this a joke? Was Selena somewhere in the background waiting to jump out and mock me? Was this some prank to ease off the tension created by the attack for the past few days?Logan had once or twice made too good a joke out of me. He might not have been the funniest of persons, but he sure could pull off a good prank.I shook my head involuntarily, wishing he could tell me it was all a prank. But no, there he was, still on his knee, a diamond ring still pointing towards me.Logan must have misinterpreted my silence because the next thing he did was get on his feet, tuck the ring into his back pocket, and then try to hold me. "I know these past few days have been horrible for you, and this is quite possibly the worst time on earth to bring up a topic like this; you know wha
Logan's POV...I honestly could not tell why I picked the garden. Maybe it was the many lovely memories I had of the spot with Kara when I still loved her and saw a future with her.On the other hand, Alexa seemed like a blessing in the embodiment of an angel. She was my fated mate, she bore me a child, and she still managed to make my heart skip each time I heard her time talk less of seeing her.I did not need extra time to know I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. The signs were pretty clear; she was undoubtedly the one for me.Vader was the name of the man she said she knew. I had sent out some men to dig up what else they could dig up about the man. Still, it seemed that after the blue scorpions were captured, he was nowhere to be seen until that attack on the red lotus. I had to give it to him; he was pretty good at hiding. He hid so well that he left no trail, and even after the attack, it was as if he simply evaporated or disappea
