Chapter 118

Author's POV

"But you didn't kill me," Alexa said to Logan, who looked into her beautiful eyes. He didn't because he couldn't. He couldn't bring himself to kill his mate. Someone so innocent and kind, who knew nothing of the wrongs her father had done. Someone who suffered at the mercy of her father also. He could not.

"Walk with me," he stretched out his hand for her to take. Alexa looked at it as she wondered how they became this way, but she reached for it anyways.

They began to walk along the lake's edge as they spoke.

"Your father must have been so close to you and your brother to always bring you both here."

Logan nodded slightly, "Yes, father was nice and sweet. He was a good father. He was tough yet tender towards us, and it made us wish to be like him when we grew up. He was a great role model to follow."

Alexa hummed as she bobbed her head up and down softly, but she didn't say a word.
