"Until then, you are with me," Kate exclaimed as she rounded the corner. Her enthusiasm was infectious. Just by seeing how excited she was, I was ready to take on whatever was thrown my way over the next few hours.
Gabriel pressed his lips to the top of my head before gently pushing me toward Kate. I reluctantly moved away from him, surprised when I saw the smile drop from Kate's face.
"Everything will be fine, Alpha. I won't let anything happen to her. They will both be in great hands!" Kate saddled up next to me and Elena. I turned to look over my shoulder to thank Parker for getting us here, but he was nowhere to be found.
"Where did Parker go?" I asked, but Gabriel just shook his head at me. That seemed to be my cue not to talk about it, but I made a mental note to ask him later when we would get to be alone together.
"We have a lot of ground to cover. I'll say we should start this way." She said as she nudged her head to her right. I glanced over
The dining hall was across from the packhouse and was filled with people eating and talking. My stomach grumbled when I smelled food. I looked around to see a buffet-style display set up for people to make themselves sandwiches with multiple different side options. It did not escape my attention that the room noticeably quieted when we entered. Gabriel stood at my side, his arm wrapped around my waist. I tried to refrain from pressing myself into him as dozens of eyes turned to inspect us. A glance up at him had me in wonder. His strong jaw looked tense, and his eyes held no emotion. Yet, he stood strong, as if he were proud. It was like looking at a reflection of him from an alternate universe. When he was alone with me, he was warm and loving, but in front of his pack he seemed so cut off from his emotions. He led me to the food and dropped his hand from my waist to put together his plate. I followed next to him closely, still feeling uncomfortable with the eyes of the many borin
His statement was both erotic and surprising. I didn't realize I had to be turned or even that he could turn me. I had just assumed that some of the people around their compound were human mates like me. It was just a reminder that I knew nothing of their kind or traditions, just what limited information I found online. "Once I turn?" I asked apprehensively. A small part of me wanted to be like him, but the majority of my being was screaming at the thought of being turned into a four-legged wolf. "Yes. Once I bite you right here and mark you, you would turn on the next full moon." His eyes examined me carefully as his fingers circled the spot on my neck. I knew that he saw my concern as though it were written on my forehead. "Don't worry, I will be with you every step of the way." His fingers interlaced with mine, and he pulled me to the couch. I stood patiently as he laid down. All of the nerves that I had been feeling earlier in the day washed away as he wrapped his hand around th
The afternoon light came through the sheer curtains, giving the living room a warm glow. For a moment, Gabriel's eyes looked almost green instead of their normal hazel as he held my gaze, waiting for me to make the first move. Something about the hungry look in his eyes made me feel empowered. He had stayed true to me, and I had never been with another. We would share everything together, and that was a beautiful feeling. Not wanting to lose my confidence, I slid across Gabriel's hips, my leg falling to his other side as I straddled him. His hands immediately found my waist. Each finger that pressed into my sides sent its own wave of heat and anticipation through my body. His heart was pounding under my palm, matching my own excitement. "What will my reward be?" The husky undertone of his voice and the rising bulge in his jeans as I sat on top of him, caused my panties to dampen. "Me." His eyes narrowed as they turned black, consumed by the expanding iris. A small glow of red bega
He pulled me up as if I weighed as much as a feather. My legs wrapped around his waist as his hands supported me under my butt. My head fell lazily on his shoulder as I tried to blink the haze from my mind. The throb between my legs was only encouraged as his hardness moved against my center with each step he took. I could feel myself coming back to reality as my body began to heat again. The way he pressed against me from inside his shorts, mixed with the way he unknowingly had spread my ass cheeks as he held me up made me want more. The moisture on his hand as I sat in his palm felt erotic. It was like I was marking him without leaving a visible impression or blemish on him. Every female who got too close to him would more than likely smell me, and while that made me uncomfortable, I also loved knowing that my scent would be all over every inch of him by the time we were done. There would be no question that he was mine. I wanted to scream it to the world, and by how quickly he ma
We spent the next two hours cuddling and talking, enjoying each other's company. Our naked bodies still intertwined with each other. It seemed that neither one of us wanted to let the other go.I had felt disappointed when I saw the mark I had left on his shoulder had healed already, leaving nothing but his perfect tan skin behind. He had explained to me how they healed faster than mortals and that when I left my true mark on him, it would never fully heal. Instead, it would leave a scar in the shape of my bite to show all others that he was spoken for.My fingers danced along his jawline, a small smile pulling at his lips. "Can you change into your wolf anytime you want?" I asked, intrigued by the concept but still terrified of the thought of turning into one myself. He turned his head, placing a soft kiss on the tips of my fingers."Yes. It takes a lot of energy. So, as long as we aren't severely injured or run down, we can shift at any time." I pressed furthe
I couldn't reach Gabriel for three days after we were rushed off of his land. Vampires or not, it was still a huge blow to confidence that the only man I ever had sex with was nowhere to be found afterward. Elena kept telling me to be patient. I knew it was killing her just as much to be away from Athena, but they were at least texting. I received nothing. No texts, no calls, and no voice in my head. He was just gone. I had given him three days of this silence, but I wouldn't wait any longer. The keys jingled as I slowly lifted them off the key hook by the front door. It felt like I was slamming pots and pans together by how loud they seemed. Elena was just up the stairs, and I knew the second she realized I was gone, she would rat me out to her mate. They had both agreed that I should stay away from the pack land for now, but no one would tell me why. Blame it on being raised like an insane person, but I was thinking crazy. Every possible sce
Gabriel's P.O.V I could feel her. My chest felt like there was a band wrapping around it, and progressively getting tighter. The pain and anger were stronger than anything I had felt from her before… until it was gone. My breathing came easier, and the red haze covering my vision vanished. It was as if our connection had been muted, put into a locked box, and sent to the back of my mind. I could feel her there, but I couldn't access her. Whether she had done it consciously or not, she had placed a wall between us, blocking us from being able to access each other. My anger increased as I walked faster to get to my home, our home. It had been days since I had last seen or talked to her, but as much as I wanted to hear her voice, I couldn't rush into it. I needed to be smart about it. I had spent hours in deliberation with the clan's representatives. They made themselves at home in our packhouse, and I made a mental note to have the building swept for any bugs or belongings left behin
Olivia's P.O.V. My phone continued to vibrate as I laid in bed. The screen illuminated the room until the call went to voicemail and left it in darkness once again. It had been an hour of nonstop calls. Several different numbers were being used, but I knew in my gut that it was Gabriel trying to reach me. Since he couldn't have contact with me, he would be using other people's phones. I scoffed at the thought of him putting that much effort into trying to talk to me when he had been silent for the past several days. Elena admitted that she knew but agreed with her mate. They said it was best for the pack to keep me in the dark about Scarlett and at a distance. Once I kicked Elena out of my room, she couldn't say anything in fear of my parents overhearing, so she tried to apologize through the wood. She had given up knocking on my door not too long ago, finally taking the hint that I wouldn't talk to her. Funny that now that I want space, no one wanted to give it to me. If I glanced

'The Wolf's Claim' After Oliver felt the excruciating pain of his mate's death, almost killing him in the process, he left his pack to travel and clear his head. He never expected that he would come across the one person who had caused him so much pain, to begin with, alive and well. Seeing that hi
Five Months Later Kaylee's P.O.V. I let out a groan as I was thrown onto my back for the tenth time today. Parker had been so proud of how quickly I moved up through the training groups, learning how to fight and defend myself. It wasn't until I was up against him that I got to experience firsthand just how incredibly skilled and fluid Parker was. I knew that from other aspects of our relationship, but seeing him fight and sparring against him myself was a different level. 'You need to focus, love,' Parker taunted as he nipped at my butt playfully. I flinched, my wolf rolling back onto her stomach as I glared at him. Part of it wasn't even my fault. How was I supposed to not get distracted by my incredibly attractive mate touching me? 'Let's call it a day,' I said as I shook my fur free of the loose grass. My attempt to saunter up to him failed as my sore muscles made it appear more like a drunken stumble. Parker choked out a laugh before rubbing the side of his wolf up against me
Parker's P.O.V. She made me promise not to drug her again, and while I wasn't wanting to use it, I still had an injection tucked away in my pocket. Her mother was excited to see Kaylee's wolf, but it was obvious that her over-excitement was an attempt to hide her nerves and anxiety about the outcome of the change. Kaylee was a buddle of sore and delicate excitement as she bounced and stumbled into the forest earlier than she needed to. I followed behind her, my arms ready to catch her if she fell, but she would just dance out of reach and laugh before moving deeper into the trees and underbrush. "You know you're going to be a wolf and not a woodland fairy, right?" I laughed as she ran her hand across the trunk of a tree. "I know!" She glared back at me with an adorable smile. "But that's just it. I am going to be a wolf with you." I dashed forward, scooping her up into my arms as she giggled. "I can't wait to see you, run with you, and feel you. I bet you have the softest fur pos
Parker's P.O.V. Over the next week, I watched as Kaylee did her best to stand strong and smile through the discomfort, but I could feel how much pain she was in as her body prepared for the full moon. It was so much worse than last time, and while I didn't like that she was hurting, I also took it as a good thing. To me, it was a sign that her wolf was stronger this time, that she was fighting to get out and ready to meet her human. It had taken less than a week for the Blood Moon Pack to come to their verdict under their pack laws, and all five wolves, the Luna included, were sentenced to death. We stood tall in the crowd as the wolves were brought forward and placed on their knees before their pack as their crimes were read. Alpha Blake had given Kaylee a quick squeeze on one shoulder before moving forward to stand in front of the accused. The smell of silver and wolfs-bane was strong in his system, and I admired that he was strong enough to dose himself to maintain control. A wo
Kaylee's P.O.V. The trip back to the Midnight Pack was bittersweet. Everyone was tense, knowing that Alpha Gabriel would not be happy that we all went on this rescue mission without his permission. Parker made me ride on his back the way home, and his excitement was pouring from his body. I held on tightly as he dipped and dodged around trees, bucking his back up higher than he needed to when he jumped over things. He was like a puppy playing. Every time I made a noise or tightened my grip on him, he would look back at me with his tongue hanging out to the side, and a large wolfish smile stretched across his face. It was adorable, and while my heart was hurting from having to be separated from my mother again after all this time, I couldn't help but smile back at him. Anytime I had seen his wolf out, he was angry or fighting someone. But this time, he was genuinely happy. I was half tempted to tell him to just keep going past our old pack and take me far into the sunset to live a p
Kaylee's P.O.V. The sound of a throat clearing had me reluctantly pulling away from Parker. My eyes glanced over the tensely reuniting Jack and Kate, who were standing close but weren't touching, to see my father standing in the doorway. His bright green eyes and dark brown hair were so similar to the younger man standing next to him, and I sighed in relief at the sight of Oliver standing tall and unharmed. "Don't worry about me. Just focus on your mate." Oliver said as he moved toward us and dropped into one of the leather chairs to my side with the back of one of his hands across his forehead. "Your little brother was just held captive, but whatever." I rolled my eyes with a smile as I shoved his shoulder with my hand. The burn marks were gone from his neck, and the bruising had disappeared from his face. There was a small twinkle in his eye as he sent a wink my way, and I knew he was happy that everything worked out. "Kaylee?" A small voice asked from the door, and my stomach ti
Kaylee's P.O.V. When we walked through the pack land, it was extremely noticeable how different the two packs were. The Earth thrived around the Blood Moon Pack. The grass and moss on the trees were a darker green than what I had been used to seeing at the Midnight Pack, and I couldn't help but take in a deep breath of the clean air. The pack had moved so silently on the moist, plant-rich ground that, had I not seen them, I would not have realized they were even walking with us. I expected to feel some sense of panic as they surrounded us and led us through the collection of houses, but instead, I felt peace. It was something that I hadn't felt in a very long time. I eyed the large house before us with wonder as we were led inside the stone and wood-decorated building. Although, one could argue this was a castle. Surrounded by mountains on both sides, the pack house was a large three-story building where all of the offices, communal kitchen, and game rooms were, as had been expla
Parker's P.O.V. I eyed the two wolves on patrol outside of their dungeons from a distance, watching and waiting to see if they had a pattern in the way they moved and if they were alone. So far, they seemed fairly well trained. While that wasn't an issue for four of us to take on two of them, it would become an issue if they saw us. All it took was one call in their pack link, and their entire fighting force would rain down on us. We wouldn't have the time to get downstairs and unlock Oliver before their reinforcements arrived. It was a huge risk, but we had no choice. 'Scarlett, Hudson, the two of you have the guard on the south side of the entrance. Jack and I will take the one on the north. We need to stay silent and approach from behind. If they get the chance to alert the pack that we're here, it'll all be over.' I said through the pack link, making sure all three of them could hear me as I waited for each one of them to acknowledge my instructions. With confirmation that we w
Kaylee's P.O.V. It only took a minute for a large brown and silver wolf to come barreling through the crowd. He slid to a halt, sending dirt flying as his wolf reached the border. My hands shook as I finally saw my father in front of me. I had heard about him when I was little, but not often. My mother didn't like talking about him too much. She would normally excuse herself after a few minutes and go cry in her bedroom, thinking I didn't notice or hear her. He had left her pregnant with me and then ripped her heart out to go start a family with his true mate. "You're the Alpha?" I questioned, knowing the answer at the way his wolf let out a small whine in my direction. His large paw lifted from the ground before he stomped it back down as if he were trying to tell me to walk over to him. "Your son, Oliver, is currently being held by your Luna. He was collected by your wolves two hours ago at the border. We ask that you demand his release and stop the war against my people in the M
