Livey took on her first official meeting to another kingdom accompanied by a lot of guards along with Ash and Newton on horses,
Civilization hadn’t reached the city of Atlantis because it was so deep within away from the human world.Ash sat with her in the royal carriage while she complained for an hour how fast they could have gone if they used a car.“Three hours and we are still moving, I am beginning to think journeys were not meant for me” Livey groaned trying to sit up straight in such a small carriage.“You shouldn’t be bothered about the journey, it was your idea to grant their request of a visit in the first place” Ash answered.A royal invitation came from Shevar Kingdom requesting for the visit of the lost queen of Atlantis, Livey wasted no time to accept it because she wanted to see how other kingdoms were fairing and could learn a few things or two from them.“I know and I am beginning to regA horse galloping towards the city was enough for the gates of Atlantis to be open especially when the Queen was riding on the horse.Once they were in, Newton pulled the reigns and they halted, they turned back to see if Ash was coming but there was no sign of him.“Where is he Newton?” Livey asked panicking,It wasn’t her intention to leave him behind with that much witches and now she was beginning to regret it.“Let’s give him a little time” Newton stepped down from the horse and helped her down.“But he is taking too long, he should be here by now” she feared for his life more than her well-being and didn’t want any harm to come to him.“Let’s just wait a little while and he would be back, I trust he would be back” Newton assured her while taking her back to the castle.“I just hope so if not I will go to find him myself” She said while walking in with him.
A knock on the door woke Livey up, it was then that she realized that she had slept off.Thinking that it was Ash she ran to open the door but was disappointed when she saw Helon.“Good morning My Queen” he greeted with a warm smile, he could feel that his day would be blissful.“How may I help you Helon?” She said reluctantly,“May I come in?” He inquired and she let him in.“You want to speak with me” she sat on the bed while he sat on the chair.“Yes, I have something important to say” he readied himself.“When the title of the King of Atlantis was passed down to me, I promised the late king that I would take care of the people and I have done that for four years making sure that the people of Atlantis were all taken care of” He added.Livey raised her brow in question, ‘was it the same people he had made to starve while extorting everything they had from them
Ash hadn’t returned and Livey assumed the worst had happened to him,“Your highness, you called for me” Newton stood in front of her just away from her chambers.“Newton, gather the horses, I need to find Ash” she ordered.“You can’t leave the city, what if you got attacked again” Newton was worried for her, it was his duty to make sure that she was safe and sound and taking her out might inquire another attack on her.“What do your expect me to do, I need to look for him, he might still be in danger” Livey answered shakened up by her words, she believed the witches must have taken him captive or they had killed him.“I will go in search of him while you stay back” Newton said and she looked at him.“Please help me find him” she touched his shoulders and he nodded his head in response.Newton wasted no time in leaving the city a few minutes after he had talked to Livey, he rode as fast as he could into the woods until he got to exactly where they were attacked. The place was completel
Three days passed and Livey had failed to present Ash before the council, Thane tried all he could to defend her but his hands were tied. The engagement day was set and it came in two days.Livey sat in front of the mirror with a frown on her face,“How did her life get to this point?” She asked herself, she was now being forced to get engaged to a man she wanted nothing with. She had always thought of leaving the city but then Ash was dead and there was no one to be with her.Newton and Thane were still in Atlantis and they were the only family she had, she couldn’t leave the throne of her parents to a man who knew nothing about their hardship neither did he have royalty in his blood. It was up to her to take care of the people of Atlantis and this was the sacrifice she had to make.Livey was led to the grand hall where the people were all waiting for her, Helon stood in front of them with Lopez standing as the leader of the council to join them together. She walked gracefully toward
Livey sat in her chambers thinking about what had just happened, the priest’s presence came in her favour and she was able to stop the engagement she never wanted a part with. When she returned to Atlantis she thought she would be dealing with the problems of the people, attending to their every need and protecting them but all that changed and she was more bothered about her personal matters now.Helon was proving stubborn refusing to step down from the throne that wasn’t his by making silly excuses to keep it all to himself. She held the pendant she had given to Ash in her hand while she kept on wishing me in her heart that he was fine and nothing had happened to him, but how could all that happen when she had seen him get struck in the chest.“He has survived worse, he could still be alive” Ruby said to encourage her, she also had high hopes that Ash was alive and would return back to them.“If he is alive then why hasn’t he come to me, I am already tired of life here, I need him n
The council gathered again after three days to access if what the priest had said was indeed true.“Three days and yet you weren’t able to come out with a solution” Thane reprimanded Lopez for slacking on her job, he had atleast expected her to come up with something being the head of the council for extended the meeting to three days later.“Do you think this is easy to handle, I can’t figure out who exactly is lying to us here, on one side is a priest we know nothing about and the other is the current king of Atlantis even though he is not a true king” Lopez aired out her struggles on why she was delaying.“Is that so hard to figure out, you can’t already tell that Helon is lying to try to covet the throne for himself. If he is really the mate of my niece then he should step down atleast, he hasn’t made plans to do that after Livey came back” Thane stated.“You are only saying that because you are the family of the Queen and you want to respect her wishes but have you forgotten that
Helon wasted no more time in visiting the priest with a dozen guards, it was more of an attack than a visit. He asked them to wait for the signal and decided to meet the priest first.“How may I help you Helon?” Ash asked facing him.Helon stared at the old priest in front of him with a frown on his face, ‘Why did he have to interfere with his life just when it was about to be perfect’ he said to himself.“When are you leaving this city?” Helon asked furious just by looking at him.“When the gods ask me to leave, are you eager to see me go” Ash asked back staring directly at him with not a hint of fear in his eyes.“You shouldn’t have come here in the first place” Helon said in more of a warning, his presence was a block to his path and he had to be cleared out.“You don’t get to tell me what to do Helon, you are not the gods” Ash objected taking away his gaze from his face towards the crown on his head.“King Helon to you, you will address me by proper title” Helon yelled at h
Livey returned back to the castle to find Judah waiting for her.“Your highness” he stood up as a form of respect and waited for her to sit before he did.“How may I help you?” She asked straightening her back displeased by his visit.“The last time I visited I came to check up on you, do you remember what I said before I left” he asked her if she could remember the last words he had told her.“Something about a second visit and telling me your true intentions” she answered and he smiled.“You are indeed smart, I did say I would tell you why I am here” he answered.“Leave us” he ordered Newton standing guard, he was uncomfortable with his presence and needed some privacy with her.“He stays, I don’t know you that much so he stays” Livey objected, she wasn’t going to be alone with a man who spoke in riddles and looked like he had evil up his sleeves.“As you wish” Judah agreed but not after casting a dark glance at Newton.“You may not know me but I have known you right form th
