Derek's POV (Earlier that day)

"Welcome back, son! How did everything go at the Blue Moon's pack?" My dad asked.

"Everything went fine. Took care of the treaty and left some warriors to help them with the Rogue problem." I replied.

"Great, hopefully, everything gets taken care of, and the Rogues stop showing up. Come, your mother made some food."

As we walked into the kitchen, my mom ran and hugged me.

"Derek, I am so happy you are home. Kate, Come hug your brother and let's sit and eat." My mom said while kissing my cheek.

My sister hugged me and told me she was happy I was home. Then, we all sat down and began eating.

My name is Derek Smith, and I am 20 years old. I am the future Alpha of my pack, the Blood Moon Pack. Usually, when a future Alpha turns 21, their father passes the position down to them.

The problem is I have not found my mate yet. Most find their mate when they are 18 years old, but I have not, and I am almost 21.

It hurts to see others my age already mated and happy. For the first year after my 18th birthday, I waited for my mate, but as time passed, I became impatient.

Even if my mate is younger than 18, I would know she is my mate, and if she is 16 or over, she would feel the bond as well once we are close enough to each other.

I am starting to think that I don't have a mate. I have gotten used to being mateless. But, there is an upside to not having a mate. Fucking as many she-wolves as I want, and being the future Alpha gives me quite a selection of females.

Once I finished eating, I excused myself to go to my office. Well, my Beta office because mine was being renovated.

"My best friend from childhood is coming to stay with us. She used to stay here until Max found his mate. You remember her, Derek. You used to play with Jason." My mom said,

"Yes, I remember Aunt Lil. She has two other children too, right" I asked.

"Yes, Rose and James. Rose was one, and James was a baby when they left. After Max found his mate and left Lilly, I still couldn't believe him.

"Lisa, love, you know he found his mate. I understand you are upset, and he shouldn't have abandoned his kids, but we both know what it's like to find your mate. Once you have them, nobody can come between them, just like me and you," My dad said, kissing my mother lovingly.

I love the way they are with each other. Once a werewolf finds its mate, everything changes. Any romantic feeling they have with anyone else is gone. From what I've seen, a woman can be naked in front of a man, and they wouldn't be affected.

My best friend Jace was a playboy like me until he met his mate, Lacy. We went to a club after, and some girls came up to us for some fun. They undressed right in front of us. Jace didn't even spare them a glance.

I went to take a shower and then took a nap for a few hours.

After that, I went to my Betas office to get some work done that I was supposed to do earlier. When I stepped in, Cindy and Sandy, Two of the pack sluts were waiting for me on the couch naked.

"Hello Alpha, we missed you," Sandy said

"Ready for some fun," Cindy asked and started kissing Sandy. Sandy began rubbing Cindy's nipples while I came over to them.

"Why not have some fun," I thought as I approached the two.

"Don't stop," Sandy said, irritated. The beauty in front of me looked frozen in place, like she was shocked. I could tell her heart was beating too fast.

After our eyes locked, she held onto her chest as if her heart was aching.

"Mate!" I said and caught her before she hit her head as she passed out from a broken heart I gave her for fucking those she-wolves.

What was I thinking, and how am I going to fix this?
