Cilla’s POVThe twins were not spoilt brats. They were little devils. They did not remind me of my siblings. They reminded me of Satan. Dalia and Malia Frey, daughters to Vincent and Mirabel Frey, alpha and Luna of Waterside pack were the worst children I had ever met. Those two eight year olds were the scourge of the earth. Dalia and Malia had sandy white blonde hair and freckles on their faces. They were very pretty. On the outside, they looked like two beautiful angels that anyone would admire to have. Dalia was a bit taller than her sister and had a small scar on the back of her hand. That was how I was able to tell them apart. I had spent less than ten minutes with them but I was already to tear my hair out. While one was running around the house wreaking havoc, the other was standing by the window singing out loudly with a croaky voice. I was not even halfway picking up all the toys scattered all over the leaving room. Most of them were broken and there were sharp parts sticki
Ridian’s POVI couldn’t decide which was brighter, the stars or the moon. The moon didn’t seem bright as usual. The stars, on the other hand, were at their brightest. As I lay on the hammock and stared at the illuminated sky, cold wind blew against my skin. I liked the cold, it gave me something to feel. It had been two weeks since I had sold of my own mate. Who even does that? Apparently fools like me do it. In a fit of rage, I had made a decision that was starting to cost me my peace. And yet, I didn’t even want her. The weeks had passed by pretty fast since I had spent most of the time buried in work which included fighting off angry rogues who had injured me in several places, but had not been able to kill me. Instead, I was able to send all of them to hell where they belonged. How dare they come and claim the territory that had been owned by my pack and family for hundreds of generations. Because of their lack of purpose in life, rogues like causing trouble for no important re
Ridian’s POVSamantha and I talked about so many things that day, some of which I never imagined she had opinions on. Turns out she was smarter than she let on. She had dumb-ed her brilliance down so much that I had never seen it. I thought she was just another dumb beautiful blonde.Eventually, we had to address the elephant in the room. Cilla Markle. I had tried to avoid talking about her but Samantha was not about to leave without bringing the subject up.“I knew you were just waiting to bring that up,” I said, smiling.“I knew you were trying very much to avoid the subject,” she said.“What do you think I should do about it?” I asked.“What I think doesn’t matter. What you think is very important? Do you want her back? Do you think you can accept a normal mate relationship with her? What is your view of her as a person?”“I haven’t known her much to form a real opinion. From what I’ve seen, she’s a nice girl, quite courageous. She has stood up to me on serval occasions. Even stood
Cilla’s POVSitting on the sofa, I turned on the TV and started to scroll through the channels as the twins picked up their toys.“No TV for you until this whole room is cleared of your toys,” I stated, leaning against the backrest. No one said a word or tried to protest. I glanced at Dalia and she just twisted her face before bending to pick up a brown doll.“Is it so hard for you to always put away each toy after you finish playing with it? Why do you have to scatter them everywhere? Now you have to much work to do.”The twins did not say anything. I was proud of what I had done in only one work. I had transformed them from little devils to obedient angels. I was no fool though. That was a very short time for anyone to completely change. I could see the resentment they tried to hide behind their stares so I tried to always be on the lookout. I didn’t want to underestimate those little devils.Mirabel was actually happy with the progress and liked to see the house look neat again.
Cilla’s POV“The last witch I talked to went and reported me to the alpha,” I told Raven. “So, you can understand why I’m wary of your kind.”She nodded. “I get it. But, I’m bored. I need something to do or I’ll go crazy. Besides, you seem like a nice person.” “I’m nice until you cross me. If you’re thinking of doing that, get ready for what I’ll do to you. Trust me, it won’t be nice.”Raven chuckled. “Relax. Just tell me what you want, and I’ll see how I can help. Come, let’s go to my place. No one can hear us when we’re inside.”“Okay,” I said.I followed Raven towards a tiny building surrounded by a thick hedge. You could only see the top of the building. There was a path leading to it. When we got in her tiny compound, I saw that the building looked great and new with light green walls and tinted glass windows. You couldn’t see past the hedge.“Isn’t it scary? Living like this?”Raven shook her head as she opened the door. “I’m a witch. Nothing scares me. I can sense someone comi
Cilla’s POVWhen I woke up, I was bound to one of her wooden chairs and she was standing in front of me.“You promised not to double cross me,” I said, regretting why I had chosen to trust another witch. Clearly, these creatures did not deserve any of that. They were willing to ruin anybody’s life for fun.“And I haven’t. All I did was restrain you from making a mistake that could get us both killed. I don’t know about you but I’m not ready to die. I’m also not ready to leave this pack for reasons best known to myself. I have built a life here and I’m not going to let you come and destroy it with a snap of a finger.”“This will not affect you in a way,” I yelled. “It’s my life I’m putting on the line here. My life is meaningless without my family. I may as well die trying to save them.”“That’s where you’re wrong. It’s not only your life that will be endangered. Your siblings will be at risk, too. And me. The people in this pack are not foolish. I’m sure someone saw you coming into my
Ridian’s POVI felt like I was not in charge, and it sucked. For a long time, I had been in charge of everything in my life. I got what I wanted, and tossed out what I did not need. If I ended up wanting it back, I got it back because I was Ridian Jamison, the alpha of Blackmoon pack, one of the greatest packs in the territory. Things always worked in my favour, and if they didn’t, I forced them to. I started feeling that I was not in as much control as I thought when Jane ran out on me. Now the issue of Waterside pack made it even more obvious. I heated feeling out of control, and it was killing me. Therefore, I had to teach Vincent Frey a lesson he would never forget. It was the second time I was speaking to the arrogant man on phone. The first time he had the guts to hang up on me which was not a very polite thing to do. This guy had no qualms about disrespecting me and it angered me the more. But I let it slide, and decided to try again.“You should stop calling me because we are
Cilla’s POVI spent the next few days thinking about Rose and Ren, wondering how they were doing. Seeing Dalia and Malia Frey everyday was always a reminder that the other twins I knew were suffering. They were not lucky enough to have a caring person take care of them. Sometimes, I found myself taking out my frustration on the little girls, especially when they drove me up the wall. Whenever my anger became too much, I would go to the garden and try to cool off.I tried getting to Raven but she was gone. I went to her house almost every day but I never saw her anywhere. Either she had used some spell to make herself invisible or she had gone on a visit somewhere. I could only hope that she had gone to Oakwood pack. It did not seem likely since she had not seemed exited by the idea but I had to cling on to some kind of hope in order to remain sane. When more days passed and there was no sign of raven, I began to fear the worst. I started planning an escape. Not knowing anything was k
Cilla. One week later, we assembled the whole of Moonshine pack. We had speeches from both sides and the last speech was Ridian’s. When he made the announcement that Sasha Miller would lead the pack, the crowd erupted in cheers. “Please come forward,” Ridian asked Sasha who seemed so shocked by the announcement she couldn’t move for a while. Eventually, she strode forward in a responsible fashion and the crowd roared once me. I scanned the gathering and found alpha Aragon in tears. He seemed to be very happy that his daughter was going to be in charge. “We have been observing this brilliant young woman for a while since she returned and we have decided that she is the best person to replace her father in the leadership of this pack,” Ridian continued. “We shall talk with the elders so we can have a coronation ceremony as soon as possible. Although your new luna will have to report to me, you’ll have more autonomy over yourselves. We believe she’s the best person to steer this pack to
CillaWaking up next to my lovelies was the best thing ever. I had slept through the morning. I woke up at 11 am and found Rose and Ren still asleep, their heads on each of my arms. My arms were hurting. When I tried to push them away so I could get up, they opened their eyes and tried to snuggle closer. I chuckled before speaking.“My hands hurt,” I said. They both moved away from them and sat up so I could bring my arms together. The action was painful but it was worth it. I had had the best sleep in a while and would do it a hundred times over. Knowing that Jane was dead and couldn’t hurt us was the icing on the cake.“How did you know where we were?” Rose asked.“I’m your big sister. I know everything.”“No, you don’t.” Rose said.“Seriously,” Ren said.I had noticed that Ren was growing faster, developing the snarky attitude of a teenager before his sister. Since I was now a parent, I had to learn patience and find a way of dealing with him without causing more problems.I told t
Ridian.“Rose! Ren!” Cilla yelled, while running around the forest with tears streaming down her face. I followed her, begging her to stop for a moment but she couldn’t. She continued running further and further from me. When she finally stopped, she dropped to the ground.“I can’t believe we did everything for nothing,” she said. “You were right. We shouldn’t have wasted time going to the prison. Why did I have to think of such a stupid plan? Now, Jane is dead and I’m the one suffering. What kind of stupid revenge is this? I messed up, Ridian. I’m so stupid.”“No, you’re not.” I told her. “We’re going to find them. I’m sure they’ve run off somewhere. Suddenly, I felt something hit me from the back. “Run, Cilla. I’ve been shot.”Cilla Rose and came behind me, pulling out the arrow quickly. We both turned instantly and started running. We ran until we were out of the forest. George and his human friend were also nowhere to be seen. “What is happening?” Cilla asked. When we got into a
Ridian. The children’s shelter was surrounded by a wall fence which we easily jumped over. The car remained outside the fence while Cilla and I went in, dressed in our ski masks, the driver waiting for our exit. The shelter had an office building and a boarding house where the children and youth resided in. from our online stalking, we had found out that it was one large hall divided in the middle. One side was for very young children and preteens while the other was for older teens. It was amazing how foolish humans were. How do you claim to be protecting children yet give out all the details about where they lived? It didn’t make sense at all.Ross and Ren were twelve, and that meant they were in the teens section. The website had stated that 11 and below were in the younger children section. This made things easy for us since the younger children had matrons sleeping in their side. The side with older teens had no adults. The guard at the gate was easily taken care of. Cilla had k
Ridian. The city was called Everdeen City. It took us about three hours to get there by car. When we reached, Cilla and I paid for a suite in a hotel while the warriors went to search for the location of the shelter and prison with the help of Google maps. Science and technology was making things really easy. We waited in out room anxiously for more information while watching the television for more updates. As expected, the police did not give out much information about the investigation. That was annoying. I felt like visiting her but I knew it would alert her on what we were planning to do. I wanted it to be a surprise to her. A few hours later, the men arrived and we were also taken to the place. We drove by the shelter and then the prison where Jane was being held as the police searched for information about the children. We decided we would carry out both operations at night. I found it hard to believe that Jane had been arrested by a human policeman and had failed to defend he
Ridian. It had been two days since Cilla started training with Brody and it was not sitting well with me. I knew that she wasn’t going to do anything with him. I think I was more annoyed by the fact that she had opted to ask him to train her and not me. I was so much better than Brody in everything. It hurt me that she opted to ask him, as if she trusted him more than me. I tried to distract myself with other things but it was hard to stop thinking about the fact that they were both training together. When we were together, everything was mechanical. We did almost everything together and even slept on the same bed but we failed to connect like before. Cilla spent most of her attention on her phone and I ended up doing the same. We were like two strangers living in the same house. Cilla was so depressed that I barely knew what to do with her. I tried to help her but she never seemed receptive or interested in fixing the issues that were bothering us.The only good thing happening was
Jane.Tom was a lanky young man. He was very tall but quite thin. He had a beautiful sweet face and a very nice smile. The first time he smiled at me, I felt my insides warm up. His house was quite messy as it looked like a party of druggies had just ended. The house reeked of smoke and alcohol. It was no place for children but I had nowhere else to take them. While the kids were still unconscious, I quickly tried to clean the house, not for their sake but for mine as well. I didn’t think I’d feel comfortable staying in such a dirty place. If Rody had told me Tom was a mess, I’d have found another place. Tom was watching me as I worked and since I was wearing very short shorts, I decided to give him a good view. I needed him on my side. People are fickle about kids, even bad people. Anyone who wants kids to suffer is a monster that’s beyond saving. There are not many people like that. There was a chance that tom was not like that. I had noted his reaction when he saw me getting them
RidianWhen Cilla settled into bed next to me, I felt tempted to reach over and pull her close but was somehow able to resist the temptation. I was tired of fixing things. If she wanted the silent treatment, I would give it to her. After all, she was the one who barely showed any happiness after knowing that I was back home. I was beginning to think that she wanted me gone. But hell, that was my pack. There was no way I would abandon it for long. If she didn’t want to see my face, she could leave. I could survive without her, after all. Before she came into the room, I had been about to sleep but now that she was lying right next to me, it was almost impossible to get any sleep, especially since a certain part of my body had decided not to listen to the rational thoughts coming from my mind. It wanted what it wanted and not even my stubbornness was going to stop it. I decided to wait it out since I didn’t want to cave and be the one to make the first move. I was pretty sure Cilla wasn
Cilla.Defeating the rogues made me feel pretty good about myself. I realized the need for me to train more after that attack. Having realized that Ridian would not always be there to protect me and the pack, it was time for me to better my skills incase stronger enemies decided to attack us. I was very happy with what I had achieved but knew there was need for me to do more.Kenny tried to punch my arm but I expertly dodged it and punched him in the chest instead. I had realized that he was trying to go easy on me and was trying to …him so he could fight back and we’d have a better training. As much as I tried he never budged so I started thinking of getting a new trainer. “Call Brody,” I told Kenny as I went to sit under a tree and drank some water. Kenny concentrated and linked to Brody. I didn’t hear what he was seeing since he was speaking through his mind. Eventually, he came up to where I was.“Are you sure about this?” he asked. “Mr. Jamison is said to be pretty rough on the
