I woke up to a disturbing mind link from one of the morning patrol guards. Without waking Melody, I slipped out of bed and rushed out without bothering to get dressed. After all, I was going to shift to my wolf, who was on high alert. I took two stairs at a time while I mind linked my mother to go check on Melody. I just told her something came up, and Melody was still asleep.

"Meet me at the meadows and bring Mason with you. Tell Jones he is in charge of the toddlers and pup watchers at the daycare. I want Caleb to mobilize the warriors in case of anything.
