Once Christopher left the kitchen, Waverly made her way up the stairs to her bedroom. She shut the door behind her and fell back against it, absorbing her encounters with both Christopher and Sawyer that evening. Two completely different interactions in the span of minutes and her emotions were at an all-time high.

Waverly took one final breath and stood, walking to her wardrobe to change for the night. She then threw her sketchpad on the bedspread and sat down. Her hand gripped the pencil, and she instantly began drawing; not the eye, but something different than usual. This image was of the shadowed man. He had no face and she shaded him a very light grey. Beside him, stood another figure as black as soot. She smudged the pencil lines and shading to make it look like there was a bit of fog around it, outlining the shape of the being. Its arms were stretched out towards the shadowed man, who had no idea what was coming.

After an hour, she finally set down her pencil and picked up

Waverly awoke the next morning feeling more unrested than she had on her first night in the mansion. She stretched her limbs and remained laying down, her thoughts still swirling. After her talk with Felicity, Waverly was unable to calm herself. Lately, everything was array and she felt that she didn't have the capacity to handle it all. The drawing she had created the previous night attached itself to her memory and she felt as what she could only describe as a sort of premonition—Christopher was the mass, that much was clear. Only, she didn't know how dark his intentions were and whether or not he was responsible for everything that had happened, or whether he had lied only about the Lunar Eclipse. She threw the blanket over her head in frustration, screaming into it, before taking it off again. This was Christopher she was talking about. Sawyer's Beta. He wouldn't do something like that…would he? Her mind switched back to her sketchbook, which still sat spread open on the bed be

As Waverly sat in the great room with Sawyer, discussing countless topics with their hands only inches apart from one another, she had let go of any worries that had pressed her since she had left Boulder Creek. The more they talked about her family, the closer she felt to Sawyer and she found herself pouring her heart out to a man who only weeks ago was a myth and a stranger. "Can I ask you…why are you so dedicated to finding a solution to what happened to the women before you?" Sawyer asked as he closed his notebook. Waverly loosened her posture and pursed her lips. "I guess I just understand what they were going through," she noted. "The fear they felt when meeting you for the first time, I felt it too." "You were scared?" Waverly blinked rapidly, acting like he had just asked her if she believed in eight-headed dragons. "You couldn't tell?" Sawyer laughed as he exhaled. "Not at all. You seemed…assured." "Well, I was always told that it's better to pretend you're confide

Later that afternoon, after having an unexpected lunch with Sawyer, Waverly tossed on her sneakers and made her way into town to complete her daily run. Up until now, Katia had had them searching for possible clues and role-playing in order to see if they could conjure something together; however, while Waverly headed into town that day, she had a different approach. From watching her father conduct business throughout the years, Waverly knew that an important part of finding answers was communication. As a wolf, your pack was the best source for any advice or information, so that's where she would start. As Waverly entered town, she continued down main street, walking past countless shops and people, who over time, she had come to know. Most waved to her and uttered a casual 'good morning' as she passed by, greeting her with smiles or a small conversation. She headed further into town then she had really ever gone before, stopping occasionally to talk to those who approached her.

Waverly's chest instantaneously felt like a ton of bricks had landed on top of it. Matteus—was it who he was talking to on the phone the other night? Why would he need to go talk to someone who threatened to steal their land right out from underneath them and start a war in order to do so? She didn't want to believe it—not only for her own sanity, but for the sake of Sawyer's. If this got out to him, she had no idea what he would do. No, she needed to tread very carefully with this and make sure she knew exactly what was going on before she told him. Suddenly, Waverly heard the front door of the house shut and the voices from the entry carried down the hallway through the small crack she had left in the door. She slammed the notebook closed and took one last look around the room to ensure that everything was how she had found it prior to rushing to the door and leaving the room, promptly. She walked down the hall and could hear Sawyer and Christopher laughing in the entry at somethin

While the words slipped out of her mouth, Waverly felt an irresistible sense of dread and tranquillity. Did she actually just say that? What was he thinking? Did he think she was insane? H*ll, she thought she was insane.Sawyer kept focused on her and stood up. Sh*t, sh*t, sh*t. He presented his hand to her, which she took, and without breaking eye contact, lifted her onto her feet and led her through the music room and down the hall to a space she had never seen. He opened the door and pulled her inside, shutting it behind them. Waverly noticed the king-sized bed and quickly understood where this was going. When Sawyer met her gaze again, his eyes were full of hunger. Waverly gulped and despite her extreme nervousness, she felt adrenaline pulse through her. Sawyer spun her around and slammed her against the wall by the door, instantly starting where they left off. His lips danced around her face, kissing her mouth, her jaw and then down her neck. Waverly's breath quickened and she b

The sun crept through the slit in the blinds, piercing Waverly's eyelids. She squinted her eyes as she opened them and looked around the room. Both her body and emotions were running low from the night before and when she glanced down, she saw Sawyer's arm draped over her stomach once more. She smiled to herself and tenderly tried to lift his arm, but he stirred in his sleep and nuzzled his head in closer to her back, pulling her in tighter. Waverly snickered quietly and started rubbing his arm to soothingly wake him."Hey," she spoke lightly. Sawyer murmured and snuggled in deeper, his breath tickling her bare back. "Not yet," he muttered; his voice was raspy and low, attracting her more than he ever had. Waverly cautiously turned her body so she was facing him and his eyes blinked open, exposing their unique and stunning features. "Yes, yet," she replied. "We have things to do today." Sawyer, who's arms were still wrapped around her, clenched around her waist. "Hmmm…like?"

Waverly bent down and grabbed her own clothing, taking one last look at the crumpled bedsheets and comforter that she and Sawyer had spent the night in. Their conversation didn't go exactly how she had hoped it would, but somehow went exactly how she knew it would. Sawyer would never open his eyes to the fact that Christopher could potentially be the one who slipped the poison—and if he was, he could also be responsible for the missing women. Waverly sighed and left the bedroom, which still smelt of Sawyer, and closed the door behind her. Lost in her own thoughts, she automatically turned to go down the hall and bumped into another body. "Whoa, there. Done with your evening so soon?" She brought her eyes forward to see Christopher standing directly in front of her, with his hands on either side of her, helping to keep her steady. Waverly took a step back and glanced down at the clothes that were in her hands, noting that she was only wearing a robe. Wonderful. "Yeah," was all s

Waverly jumped from her seat and raced to the front door. She stood in front of it, brushing her hair quickly with her fingers, and adjusting her shirt prior to opening the door. As soon as she did, a figure flew towards her, leaping into her arms."Waverly!" Isadore screeched. She tightened her hold around Waverly's neck and squeezed her sister tightly. Isadore's loose ponytail fell down alongside Waverly's shoulder as she kept a tight grip on her. Waverly laughed. "Hey, Izzy."Isadore backed up and looked into Waverly's eyes. "You're alive," she whispered in a small amount of shock."What? You thought I'd be dead? Have you met me?" "She's not wrong," Finn piped up. Isadore moved to the side out of Waverly's view and there stood Finn, his hair still in the perfect place, despite the fact that they most likely ran to Trinity Mountains. Waverly flew forward and wrapped her brother in her arms, hugging him stronger than she ever had. Her eyes watered and she wiped underneath the

Waverly stared down at Christopher's motionless body. It was over—all of it. She turned to Sawyer, who was now in human form, and was standing over Christopher. He was breathing heavily and held his chest wound with his hand, but with his other free hand, closed Christopher's eyes and whispered: "Until we meet again." He then backed away from the body and turned to his pack, who were watching the moment unfold. "Alright. Everyone who is able, let's get the injured inside to entry and cared for. Then, we can go from there."The pack all bowed their heads at the same time and began helping one another up, one at a time, carrying any wounded individuals indoors. Waverly put her arm underneath Sawyer's and used her body to support his weight, aiding him in walking back to the house. Once inside, she set him down on a chair and grabbed the first aid kit out of the living room before beginning to address his wound. Sawyer flinched at the touch of the alcohol against the cut on his chest

Waverly watched as the pack stepped out onto the gravel. To say the atmosphere was tense would've been an understatement: it was downright hostile. She stared as one by one, they transformed and launched themselves forward, starting the battle for Sawyer's life. Faintly in the background, she could hear Christopher screaming for his pack to ready themselves and not long after, the sound of snarling and bodies being thrown against the house began. She looked to her right to see Katia come up beside her, flash her a smirk, and then leapt out of the door, shifting in an instant. Waverly shrunk back into the house. What was she going to do? She couldn't fight as a human—she'd die. But she couldn't stay here either. Sawyer needed her; what kind of Luna would she be if she didn't defend her Alpha and her pack when they needed her the most? She took a deep breath and focused her energy on shifting, trying to feel herself transforming…And nothing. She shook it off and tried again, but on

Waverly felt as though the world had been ripped out from under her. He was there, in the flesh; his gap teeth exposing themselves as he grinned. "Waverly?" Sawyer said questioningly. "What are you doing here?" His gaze flickered up to the cuts on her cheek and the dried blood trail on her face, prompting him to rush over to her and examine her. "What happened? Are you okay?" Instinctively, he reached for her stomach, but Waverly stopped him. "I'm alright," she replied. She then corrected herself. "We're alright." Sawyer's eyes widened and then he looked at her, intensely. "You—" Waverly nodded, and Sawyer hugged her tightly, beaming. "I'm so sorry I missed it—but your cuts…how?"Waverly looked to Christopher, who sat still, grinning mockingly. Her face hardened. "I ran into his friend." "What friend?" Christopher chuckled to himself, causing Sawyer to spring at him, taking a strong hold of his ripped and bloodied shirt. "What friend?!" he yelled in a deep, husk voice. "The

Waverly closed her eyes the second she saw Felicity open her mouth, but because of her sharp senses, she could hear every single sound as Felicity finished the job. When she opened them again, Felicity had transformed back into her human formation, and was standing over the body of the siren. Not even a second later, Mia's frame changed back as well and in front of them, instead of a siren, laid a woman, who's blue eyes were glazed completely over. Felicity was still and her hands shook while she stared at the body; her eyes were wide and blood dripped from her mouth. "I—I didn't know what do to…I just…acted on instinct." "Well, your instinct was obviously correct. How did you know?""I—I didn't. I just thought…she was really annoying me." Waverly chuckled. She wasn't wrong; the siren did talk a lot.Felicity turned her gaze to Waverly and she looked at her, amazed. "Miss, your face…"Waverly wiped where her nosed was bleeding prior. "I know. I can feel it," she said, half-j

It all happened so fast—everything was a blur as Waverly raced forward, attacking Mia with all the pent-up anger and aggression she had felt not only for herself, but Sawyer, Pietro, and Darren. They were behind it all: the burning of Tillbury's, Pietro's death…Darren. Her arms swung in front of her while she moved to deliver a blow. She knew it wouldn't kill her, but it might just be enough to wound her so she could buy more time. Except when she was inches from her target, Mia stepped to the side, causing Waverly to almost fall forward."Now come on, let's be a little realistic here. You just gave birth. Do you really think you can really take me on right now?" Waverly looked at her, breathlessly. She knew she had a very slim chance of succeeding, but she still had to try. If not for herself, for Sawyer and her son. She built up her strength and then, once again, leapt towards the siren, hoping to catch her off guard. But it was like she knew it was coming. Once again, Mia dodg

Waverly held her baby tight to her chest while he continued to snore the night away. "You," she said in utter shock. "You're—" Mia laughed. "You still think you're hallucinating, huh? Well, let me ruin the suspense for you. Surprise, love. I'm here, flesh and bone." "H-how…? This place is remote…Sawyer said…""Sawyer said, Sawyer said. Listen here," Mia said as she walked towards Waverly; her heels clicking against the flooring. "We need to have a small girl-to-girl chat. This reliance on Sawyer is tiresome. You need to be independent and stand up for yourself." "Is that why you kill the men you enchant?" Waverly asked, forcing the strength to rise from the pit of her stomach to show some sort of dominance. "Precisely," Mia stated enthusiastically, pointing a finger in Waverly's direction. "I'm glad you've finally heard about me." "I've heard more than enough," Waverly retorted, cradling her son closer as Mia approached. "Is that the baby—?" she asked, narrowing her eyes

"What?!" Waverly shouted. Having her baby—now?! No, no way this was happening. This had to be a dream. Only when a long-lasting pain pushed through, she knew it wasn't. "But how—" she said between broken breaths. "It's not time! I'm too early!" Felicity took a deep breath and centered herself. She knew Waverly wasn't wrong. "Unfortunately, it is time, miss. But thank goodness you're a wolf and the baby's large enough to survive." Somehow, this didn't bring Waverly any comfort. A severe pang ripped at her insides, feeling as if it was tearing her apart. "Sawyer!" she suddenly shouted. "He's not—he's not here. I can't do this without him here!" "I'm sorry, miss, but you might have to if he isn't here within the next few minutes." "I—" Waverly's speech was instantly cut off by her shrieks. "I have to help you move," Felicity stated. "We need to get you to a flat surface and the bed is too high." She left the common area and emerged from the bedroom carrying two pillows. Felicity

While the day trickled into night, Waverly became increasingly nervous. She sat folded up on the couch with a hot drink, checking out of the window every few seconds to see if she could get a glimpse of Sawyer as he returned home. The cup clinked against her nails as she moved for the third time, but when she didn't see his silhouette, she slunk back down. "He'll be here soon, miss," Felicity stated as she continued washing the dishes from their late-night dinner. "I'm sure he just got tied up helping Katia with some things. It's her first time running the institute, you know." Waverly looked to her. "Really? I thought with her experience, she would've taken over when Sawyer was…cursed." The longer she waited, the more distasteful the word was in her mouth. "With her personality, it comes off that way, doesn't it? But no. Mr. Sawyer put in a lot of the work while she delivered messages. Speaking of, have you tried calling him?""Twice. It's just going to voicemail," Waverly repl

"Welcome home, brother," Christopher said manically. Sawyer treaded forward and Christopher instantly moved the knife by Katia's throat. "Don't," he said sternly, changing from friendly to cold in an instant. Sawyer halted and looked to Katia. Her makeup was running from the tears that she had shed, but she showed no fear. He glanced around the house for any sign of help, but no one was coming."Don't bother looking for anyone—they're all…a little unconscious.""What are you doing here?" Sawyer sneered, baring his teeth. It was taking everything within him to not attack. "Can't a man come visit his long-lost best friend? It's been what—a year now? Wow, time does fly, doesn't it?" Christopher grinned and his gap teeth revealed themselves. A chill went through Sawyer. This wasn't the same Christopher he had known his entire life, or the same Christopher that he had banished last year. This man was entirely different and more sinister.
