Damon

A Black Tie Event

Annual Mating Ritual

May 17,  2023 | 7 PM

The Blood Rose Pack Hall

As I carefully read the details on the black-tie invitation for tonight’s event, I was overcome with both nerves and anticipation. Tonight is my last chance to find a suitable Luna. If I fail, my dad would disinherit me leaving me with nothing but my bruised ego and shattered dreams.

I looked at myself in the mirror, admiring the god-like genes I possessed. In the sea of black and white, I chose to wear navy blue. I was born to stand out and that is what I intend to do.

After making sure that I looked perfect, I stormed out of the room. Outside, my best friend and future Beta, Ashford, is waiting.

“Ready to make some she-wolves fall?” Ash taunted. I smirked at his remarks and rolled my eyes at him.

“You know I wasn't looking for some love tonight, right? This is serious.”

"I know, Your Excellency," he taunted. "You're Damon Sanford, the alpha heir to the Blood Rose pack. When you were young, the seer from our pack predicted that you would never smell your mate, leaving you mateless for the rest of your life. So, you were given the task to find a suitable Luna, or else—"

"Enough, you jerk. I already know what needs to be done." I motioned for him to follow as we made our way to the function hall where the party would begin. Ash shook his head and followed me in silence. Meanwhile, I went back to my thoughts and carried the weight of my situation.

Just in, my wolf Romulus, emerged from my mind. “Look for someone with big tits and broad hips. Those are signs of good child-bearing capability. Also, seek someone with influence; it will help stabilize your territory in the future."

“Shut up, you perverted dog!” my other wolf, Remus, countered. “Damon should search for someone who's intelligent and a natural-born leader. More than ensuring the Sanford bloodline's continuation, the woman will also become the Luna of the largest pack in the continent. She mustn't be dumb; otherwise, the pack will crumble with her."

A heavy sigh escaped me as I continued to endure the presence of the wolves inside my mind. This was the reason why I would never smell my mate. Within me resided two spirit wolves, each with distinct personalities. Yet, despite their coexistence, I could only transform into Romulus' wolf, the stronger one. Nonetheless, Remus, the intelligent one, was a big help in crucial decision-making that came with my role.

“We’re here, alpha heir. Good luck with your search.” Ash tapped my shoulders as he handed me the eye mask I would wear for the event and led me inside. I avoided the main entrance and used another door to enter. But still, prominent members of the crowd started to notice me. Dad and the council members charmed and interacted with them leaving me more time to accomplish my special task.

And then, I saw her.

Time seemed to freeze, and the whole world came to a sudden halt as I laid eyes on her. There was something about her that completely captivated me, and I was eager to uncover more.

The crowd parted, creating a pathway as I made my way toward this mysterious girl. The spotlight turned to me, and everyone gasped in anticipation as I approached her. Finally, she noticed my intention, and I could sense her nervousness. I really wanted her to take off her mask so I could see her beauty in all its glory.

Finally, I stepped in front of her and queried. “What’s your name?”

She looked around and realized she wasn’t comfortable with all the hisses and murmurs from the envious crowd. So, I grabbed her hand and took her outside the hall.

Our hands remained clasped tightly as we ran down the hallway and made our way out. The moon was shining brilliantly, guiding us towards the gazebo nestled in the center of the vast garden behind our packhouse.

“Now, can you tell me your name now?”

“Serena,” she whispered shyly. “Serena Mitchell of the Goldenridge Pack.”

“I’m Damon, Damon Sanford.”

Serena nodded and smiled as we continued to speak. Mostly, I was the one doing all the talking, as she appeared to be very shy and shared little to no information about her life.

She was a good listener. I was even surprised that I shared my dream with her: to change society and abolish the werewolf ranks. I yearned for a world with equality and fairness, something I looked forward to achieving or spearheading for the future generations of the werewolf kind.

Then, it happened.

I have no idea what came over me, but before I knew it, I found myself kissing her soft lips. Serena appeared taken aback at first, but she went along with it, giving me the green light to continue. All I could think about was the desire to feel her body close to mine, and I was more than willing to do whatever it took to make that happen.

I blessed her bare neck with kisses, prompting a soft moan from her. I know what my body needs at the moment but I need to make sure we are on the same page before I continue.

“Can I...mark you?” I asked in between my breath. Serena was still wearing her eye mask yet the light from the moon and stars was enough for me to see its beauty.

“Sure. But please be gentle. This is my first.”

Upon hearing that, a soft growl escaped me, and I persisted in kissing her passionately. Gradually, I started to remove her gown, leaving her in her underwear. Lust had completely consumed me as I feasted my eyes on her naked form.

I removed my suit, never once breaking eye contact with her. I laid it on the floor and gently placed her on top of it.

The next thing we knew, our lustful voices filled the air. Serena gave me a night to remember, her first, and I knew inside my heart that I wanted to have a taste of it more than once.

In the middle of all that pleasure, she let me experience, a plan formed inside my mind. I had found the beauty that I was more than willing to settle in this lifetime. Fortunately enough, my wolves seemed to like her as well.

Finally, I had found my future Luna. I slept that night with a smile on my face knowing full well that my search is finally over.

SerenaThe sound of the mild morning breeze and birds chirping filled my ears. My eyes squinted, beginning to get back to my senses after dreaming about having a wild night with a complete stranger. Except it wasn’t a dream, but a beautiful memory. Remembering that encounter, a smile formed on my lips. I never expected that I am the type of girl who would give herself to a man whom she knew by name. Yet, there was no remorse in me whatsoever. Damon made me feel special and appreciated like nobody else did, not even Shey. Although we knew each other only for a night, I felt instantly connected to him. We talked and talked that night like we were the only werewolves in the world. As the rose-pink light of dawn hovered above, I got up quickly and instantly changed into my uniform. The smile on my face was never-ending, and it seemed as if it had been there since my very birth.I went out of my room and started doing my chores. As I cleaned the hallway of the Beta mansion, I couldn’t he

DamonThe way from Blood Rose to Goldenridge was quite long. As I looked outside the window of the car, my eyes were focused on the magnificent view of the forest. Compared to Blood Rose, the vegetation and trees here were denser. The magnificent view was very pleasing to my eyes. It must have been magical to explore this on foot. I feel jealous of the members of this pack! My eyes went to Ashford when he groaned. When I looked at him, his eyes were closed and it was as if he was uncomfortable with the long ride. I smiled. The playful Beta-to-be was really not in the mood."Damn it, I'm tired of sitting for hours," he muttered under his breath. I chose to stay quiet since I didn't want to make him even more annoyed. I knew he'd rather be running on foot with the other warriors surrounding our car if he had the choice. But his duty as my main security compelled him to sit inside the car with me, which also bothered me.I'm a werewolf, so naturally, I should be using my feet to run.

DamonI looked at the girl in front of me, a sense of unease creeping up my spine. It was strange, almost like a distant memory clawing at the edge of my thoughts. My lips twitched, itching to tell them that I felt nothing for this girl in front of me, but I held back. I couldn't forget the way the woman's presence had felt that night, even though her face had been hidden by a mask. This wasn't her – I could feel it in my bones. And yet, I wasn’t sure 100% and I need to be certain. “Something wrong, your grace?” Matilde's voice cut through the silence, her question hanging in the air. I didn't answer right away. Instead, I reached out to trace the contours of the woman they presented as my Serena. I closed my eyes, hoping to recapture that same inexplicable connection I had felt when I touched her that night. But it wasn't there. For some reason, the spark I felt that night had faded away.Ashford, as perceptive as always, stepped forward. His words were directed at the servants su

Serena I strained my ears, trying to catch the faint voices outside, and a sense of dread tugged at my chest. My arms and feet were firmly bound to the cold floor, while a piece of cloth was used to cover my mouth. Is there any choice for me other than being confined to this secretive room? What's even more distressing is that the ones behind this are the very people I called my family. My life sucks and this is the evidence of it. I wished to shout, to grab Damon's attention, but a harsh gag kept my voice imprisoned. My struggles against the unyielding shackles were like a fly buzzing against a closed window…useless and frustrating. I was stuck in this nightmare, feeling like a mouse trapped in a corner while a predator circled around. It was surreal, the way Damon had been taken in so easily. Defeated, I slumped to the cold floor as Damon's car rumbled away, taking my last chance to alter my fate with it. The realization was gut-wrenching. It’s over, and I lose. Then, the door

Serena“Wake up, you lazy whore,” Mathilde hissed, snapping me from my fragile dreams.I fought to rise and demonstrate that I was alert and awake, but my efforts were in vain. Before I could respond, she dumped a bucket of ice-cold water onto my face, causing me to gasp and jolt upright.Anger flashed inside me. I wanted to grab the empty bucket from her hands and smash it over her head. But that was just wishful thinking. As much as I wanted to defend myself then, how could I? I was wolfless and deemed to be the weakest because of it.“It’s about time, you useless pig,” she uttered. “Get up and finish your chores. You will not eat unless you’re done!” I got up from bed, still shivering from the coldness of the water. I began fixing my bed before heading downstairs to do what I was asked. Like autopilot, I silently took the broom and mop, started to clean the floor as if on autopilot.Just then, Tori's voice boomed through the hallway."Mom! Dad! Where are you? I don't want to be la

Serena“Run, little wolf, run! We're catching up to you, so you better be ready to have some fun!”I bit my lower lip upon hearing his chilling remark. I had been running for a while, trying to escape those rogues, but they showed no signs of giving up. My legs were starting to feel heavy, yet I knew that stopping wasn't an option.“That's right, little wolf! Keep running until there's nowhere left to go. When we catch you, we'll make sure you'll whimper in both pain and pleasure!”The statement sent shivers down my spine. Judging by their howls as they chased me, it was all too clear what they had in mind. The repulsive idea of being violated by those monsters was a strong enough driving force for me to keep pushing forward. I was determined to never let them get their hands on me. I would rather die!Suddenly, the surroundings fell silent. The presence of the rogues chasing me seemed to fade away. I kept running for a few more seconds before gradually slowing down and eventually com

Mathilde“What? The bitch has escaped? How did that happen?”My nose flared upon hearing the news the following morning. I was surprised to see that all of the servants were still in bed, even though the sun was already up.One of the maids, I believe her name is Jane, stepped forward. Her lips were quivering in fear, which strangely had a calming effect on me. It's odd, but I felt invigorated by the sight of feeble and timid wolves trembling in my presence."Madam," Jane stammered, "we suspect that Serena added something to the food when she prepared dinner last night. It caused us to sleep heavily and be numb to our surroundings. That's why no one noticed her escape.""You imbecile!" I shouted, slapping her cheeks. The poor maid tumbled to the floor, and the other servants rushed to help her up."Mom, what's happening?" Tori asked, appearing in the doorway. The maids lowered their heads in respect, while I held my head, trying to process what had occurred."Mom, answer me!" Tori dem

The room held only the sound of my deep breaths and the familiar hospital beep-beep, a reassuring reminder of life's presence. SerenaIt had been three years since Damon became the Alpha of the Blood Rose Pack.“That’s all for today. You can now go.”The members of the council nodded their heads as they took their leave. We had just concluded our quarterly meeting, and things were going great so far with the pack.As the Luna, my main task was overseeing the departments, making sure things were running as smoothly as possible. With Damon dealing mainly with pack security and our vassals, administrative tasks were left to my care. It wasn’t easy, especially with a bunch of paperwork involved, yet over time, I learned to get the hang of it.As I was fixing my things, I noticed a white envelope containing an invitation. It was from Alexei and Tori. Little Oliver and Rina were celebrating their third birthday tomorrow, and as their godmother, I wouldn't miss it for the world. In fact, I had already bought gifts for them, which I was excited to give.Just the

He's on his way," Ollie reassured, though he looked pale and about to faint."Goddess, I'm gonna give that guy a piece of my mind! Swear to the moon deity, never sleeping with him again!" I said, feeling another pain. Lia, my sweet sister-in-law, helped me sit."My nephews are ready to meet the world, Tori. Let me help you deliver them," Lia encouraged, touching my belly. Tears filled my eyes as I looked at her. I gritted my teeth through the pain. My twins wanted out, but I wouldn't let them out until their dad was here. We promised each other that he would be by my side during my delivery. But where the heck was he?"Come on, Tori. Don't be stubborn. Your

SerenaI hurried to the location of Moonlight Hills, almost stumbling over the rocks beneath my feet. Time was running out, and I needed to reach the site before it was too late. The Trial of the Moon was expected to end in death, and while I hoped it would be Romin, a part of me worried for Damon.“Hurry, Serena! Damon needs you!” The voice of my wolf echoed in my head, adding to the weight of my concern. The twilight's cold breeze stung my skin, but the chill inside me was more unsettling. I shouldn't have left Damon. I shouldn't have abandoned him when he was lost and needed me the most. What if it's too late to reach him now?Tears threatened to escape, and I hastily wiped them away. Running down the hill, I resisted the urge to let out a loud sob. This wasn't the time to cry. DamonEarlier today, I asked the moon goddess earnestly to show us kindness. I begged her to free the Blood Rose pack from Romin's control. Now, I was in this situation, and I could no longer turn my back.We were in a very special place, Moonlight Hills, where our ancestors used to settle their problems under the Trial of the Moon. The people of Blood Rose gathered to watch this fight, knowing it would only end when one of us was no longer alive. But I didn't feel bad about it. Romin had done many bad things in his life, and just sending him away or putting him in prison wouldn't be enough. Taking away what he wanted the most, the Alpha seat of Blood Rose, seemed like a fair way to seek justice. But of course, the plan was to kill him, knowing that he would continue to torment our lives if I would let him live after this. Finally, a shofar, an instrument made from a ram's horn, was blown, the signal we were waiting for to start the fight.Romin's transformation into his

The family I hoped would love me had shattered my world, revealing their role in making my life feel like a living nightmare.Beta Janus, once a figure I considered a father, now fueled my hatred. He separated me and my mom from our group, leading us to the sinister Mathide, the source of all my troubles. Then there was Romin, driven by a relentless desire for power, who betrayed his own twin, causing chaos, especially for Damon and our pack. Thoughts of them stirred a potent hatred within me.Amidst this turmoil, I couldn't contain my emotions any longer. I shouted, causing Ashford and the other she-wolves with me to halt. Power surged through me, and Remus, the eerie voice in my head, smiled.“You’re ready, Serena. It is time to claim your destiny,” he whispered with pride. DamonThe Trial of the Moon, an ancient rite, held the promise of revelation through a fight to the death among wolves. It was an old way to settle disputes between high-ranking wolves, and the last of its kind was done almost 300 years ago.Romin, with a scoff, ridiculed the gravity of the tradition.“The Trial of the Moon? You want to settle this matter through that ancient tradition?” he mocked, his laughter echoing through the stillness.Erik, a former Delta, stood unwavering in his defense. “Why not? If that is the only way for your treachery to be discovered. Under this trial, the moon goddess will surely favor that one that is telling the truth. And I am confident that after this, Damon will emerge victorious.”Romin's amusement soured, replaced by impatience. “Joke time’s over. Time to end this madness.” He signaled his men to attack, plunging the surroundings into an imminent clash. As the tension in th

Romin's manipulation cut deep, and the crowd's murmur intensified, torn between allegiance and doubt. The desire to personally punish him burned within me, but I knew it was Damon's right, given the role Romin played in his tragic past.I found myself in the west wing, facing down guards one floor below the impending confrontation. The clash of fur and fang echoed in the air, punctuated by the occasional howl and the thud of bodies hitting the floor under the silence of the night.
