Zane was sitting in his office at the pack house. Tons of files lay before him, running his hand through his brown hair, he sighed in frustration.
As Alpha of the Hollow Springs Pack, it fell on him to handle all the paperwork, if only circumstances were different, he would have a Luna by his side. But, unfortunately that isn't going to happen anytime soon, he has long since given up on finding her.
He was thirty years old and had teenage twins, who was going to take that on or even forgive him and also take on the full time job of taking care of the basic needs of the pack.
Leaning back in his chair, he closed his eyes, hoping that the headache he felt coming on would go away, even for a little while...
Hearing a shuffling noise, Zane was instantly alert, with his wolfs hearing, he heard a sound near his desk. Standing cautiously up, he made his way around his desk, searching for the noise he had heard...
"Up!" A little voice exclaimed.
Stunned, Zane looked down, below him sat an angel, the cutest little girl he has ever seen. Not saying that his daughter Ellie wasn't beautiful at that young age, but this little girl was just as enchanting. Crouching down to her level, Zane smiled at the little girl, "So who might you be little one and where did you come from?" he queried, noting that the girl was human.
"Up!" The little girl demanded.
Laughing, Zane picked up the little girl, sniffing her scent, drawn to the smell of her, his wolf purring contently in his head, his headache gone. The little girl instantly latching onto his gold chain, tugging at it with her tiny little hands, "Easy there, little one," Zane said, pulling his chain out, giving the little girl easier access to his medallion, laughing as she put the medallion to her mouth, "You must be teething..." He murmured to himself, thinking that she must be young and wondering how she got in his office in the first place.
Whoever was in charge of this little girl had a lot of explaining to do on why they weren't taking their responsibilities seriously. When he gets a hold of them, they will be punished for being irresponsible, little kids should always be supervised.
Looking down at the little girl, he noted that she had fallen asleep, "You must be tired after your adventure little one." Tucking her securely to him, he made his way around the desk, carefully lowering himself into his chair, trying not to wake the sleeping child.
"Now...what am I going to do?" He asked himself, he knew he had to find the responsible person, but he and his wolf were unwilling to let go of this little angel. He felt content having her in his arms and that hadn't happened in a long time, not since the twins were small.
"Perhaps I should just wait and see...what harm it will do. Whoever is responsible for her is going to come looking for her and since I'm the Alpha, they are bound to come to me first." He pondered, liking that idea, sitting back contentedly and savoring this moment temporarily.
"Dad!" Ellie exclaimed from the doorway, "You have to help me!"
"What's wrong Ellie? What happened?" Zane asked, instantly alert at the alarmed tone of his daughter. Sitting up, trying not to wake up the little bundle in his arms, his wolf on high alert and becoming protective of his little charge.
"She's gone...!" Ellie cried out, "I've lost her...what am I going to do?"
"Who is gone?"
"Sofia."
"And who is Sofia?" Zane asked, watching his daughter pacing frantically around his office, noticing at that moment his son standing at the doorway, looking calm and collected.
"Um...Ellie." Jason tried to interject, finally moving from his spot, trying to get his sister's attention, while looking at his Dad with a smirk.
"What Jason? Can't you see that this is an emergency?" Ellie frantically cried, "What am I going to do? Jasmine is going to kill me, the one time she trusts me to look after her daughter and I lose her within minutes!"
"But..." Jason attempted again.
"No!" Ellie shouted.
Jason looked pleadingly at his father, Zane finally understood the reason as to why his son was calm, Ellie hadn't realized the little bundle in his arms and he was getting the impression that this little girl was Sofia, someone that Ellie was babysitting.
"Ellie...I need you to calm down." Zane spoke calmly and firmly.
Ellie hearing the authority in her father's voice, finally stopped pacing, looking pleadingly at him, only to realize the reason as to why everyone was calm, except her.
"Oh!"
"Yeah...Oh! Finally! Get with the program Sis." Jason joked, crossing his arms, leaning casually against the wall, smirking at his sister's downfall.
Ellie really wanted to swipe that smirk off Jason's face, but she was fixated on seeing her father hold little Sofia, it was an endearing sight.
"So...this is Sofia?" Zane asked, looking down at the sleeping beauty, smiling softly as she held onto his medallion tightly."And how did you lose her?" He asked his daughter, looking back up at Ellie, his eyebrow raised in silent query."Well...It's all Britney's fault!" Ellie exclaimed, not w
It had been a week since the incident with Sofia and Ellie had a theory, but she needed to confirm it, but... before she could do that, she needed the help of her annoying brother. She was currently visiting Jasmine and Sofia, her brother was at the pack house and soon he would be picking her up to take her home.
"Mate!" Zane muttered under his breath.Ellie heard her father and was happy. Her theory was correct and her father had found his mate. Hopefully Jasmine would feel the connection and she wouldn't reject her father. Both these adults needed each other and they were perfect for one another. Now she knew why her wolf felt a connection to these individuals.
Zane was over the moon, even though he had to leave his mate, he knew that he would see her the following day and who is to say that later that evening he couldn't go for a run and take a sneak at his mate, her property did border the forest, so there wasn't a chance of her seeing him.But...first, he had to set preparations in place. Jason and Ellie knew he had found his mate, but the rest of the pack still didn't know that he had found their Luna, they needed to be told and he needed to get protection set up, Clara was likel
Zane was anxious, the day seems to be dragging, everything was set up for the barbeque, everyone was milling around waiting. Everyone had been informed of him finding their Luna and he was glad that the majority of members were accepting of that fact. Now he couldn't wait for her arrival, he had missed her, even though he had gone out for a run last night and ended up at her home, he had only caught a glimpse of her through her kitchen window. His wolf didn't want to leave, but he knew they had to get back and get some rest.
After Clara left and everyone went back to normal. Ellie and Jason apologized profusely to Jasmine, worried that she would flee. Zane hovered around Jasmine, just as worried as his children, that his chance to build a relationship had ended before he could even try...Jasmine knew that the three individuals standing around her were concerned that she would walk away and not look back, "Guys...stop! I'm not going anywhere. So...chill." She attempted a laugh, hoping to ease the tension, she understood that everyone had bad blood
There was a light knock on his bedroom door, Zane groaned, it was still early, the sun was barely rising and he was still awake. Ever since finding his mate and him being Alpha it was getting harder to stay away from her. So he had not yet fallen asleep and not even the run in his wolf form, had tired him out, he had spent the better part of the night tossing and turning.Thinking of ignoring the knock on his door, he kept quiet, hoping that whoever was on the other side, would take the hint and leave. And if it was an emergen
Jasmine watched as Zane held Sofia gently in his arms, a smile gracing his face. What she wished for, before he arrived was now a reality, here was a guy that would stand by someone during good and bad."Thank you." She said simply, smiling tiredly at Zane."No problem, after all...both of you a

"I knew I would find you here." A voice huskily whispered in his ear.Opening his eyes, he smiled lovingly at his mate, tracing a finger across her cheek, brushing his lips across hers, "We didn't want to wake you...you needed your rest." He spoke quietly, glancing down at the quiet bundle against his chest.
Jasmine woke with a start, her head pounding, her body shivering, as she lay on a cold damp surface, trying to take in her surroundings in the dark, she tried to move, only to realize her hands and legs were bound tightly.Blinking her eyes shut, when a light switched on, "You're awake?" A familiar female voice spoke.
Zane was at the far end of the property, on the stage with Jake, surveying the bustling activities as pack members readied for the Luna ceremony, excitement in the air. When a wave of dizziness hit him with full force, stumbling him, reaching out to Jake, he mumbled, "Jasmine..." Before he collapsed onto his knees.
A week had passed, the Luna ceremony was that evening, the threats had quietened down for some reason, keeping everyone on alert, it was just too quiet for their liking, wondering when the next attack would be.Jasmine and Sofia still had a protection detail around them, whenever Zane could not be by his mate's side.
"Freedom at last..." Zane quietly mumbled out, forgetting that Jasmine's hearing was acute, receiving a hard hit on his head, "Ow...what was that for?" He grumbled, scratching his sore head, glaring at his mate."I didn't see you complaining a few moments ago." She spoke, glaring back at him, "Or should I withhold special privileges until you learn your lesson." She quietly pondered, raising her eyebrow in silent query.
It was a few moments before they left the shower, Zane carrying his mate out, patting her dry and then carrying her to their bed. Not wanting to let go of his mate, Jasmine only laughed at his over-protectiveness, treating her like a piece of fragile porcelain. But she wasn't going to complain, her body was sated, her limbs feeling like leaden weights. Snuggled against his naked form, she slept peacefully, relishing the feel of their naked forms brushing against each other. The intimate contact of flesh against flesh, keeping

It had been a few hours since his mate had fainted, Zane was getting anxious, it was already past midnight and his mate had yet not stirred.Laying beside her, his fingers lightly tracing her face, when she began to stir, "Please wake up." He whispered, hope flaring when her eyes slowly fluttered open, her blue eyes staring at him, "Hey...how are you doing?" He asked.
