ALICIA'S P.O.V

She led us to a discrete room and there we found a staircase leading down into a basement. I followed her curiously to know who this individual is and why they had to keep him in a place like that. We arrived before an iron door as she opened a little spot for us to have a look. Through the rectangle hole I saw a man seated down on an iron bench with his face on the floor.

“His name is Alaric and he also has a rare condition. The previous person with a similar condition like his didn’t survive,” Helen said as I could tell from her tone how sorry she was.

“What exactly is wrong with him?” Travis asked.

“He developed a rare DNA which causes his body to build up so much heat. At times it gets so critical that he is caught up in flames but what is most unlikely is that the fire never consumes him,” Helen explained. “This is the second most critical condition we have been presented with so far,”

“What are the problems of the other patients?” I asked.

“Most of them have abnor

ALICIA'S P.O.VI created vivid images of all the incidents from Helen's tale about Micah Macdonald and even the end of her narration left me curious as I drifted my gaze from the statue to her. "So you are saying that the princess was also a catalyst.”"Yes, she was the second catalyst which existed," Helen answered. "All the Catalysts that had ever existed lived their lifetime running away from the fate of mating a werewolf, they lived their lives in fear which is why I see you as a young lady with so much nerve. If I may ask, why did you choose to do it?""I can't live knowing that my child with a human will be left to bear this burden. Someone had to end it no matter the cost," I answered. She mused for a while and I could tell that she was astonished by my response. "Apart from you wanting this, your mate must love you so much to spare your life," Helen said intensely."How can you tell?" I asked.“Any werewolf could kill his own mate if she happened to be the mortal catalyst so c

MARCUS POVStop the excuses Laura, if you don’t have enough capacity to handle a simple request like this then tell us now so that we can find another person to handle it. But you must know that failure to bring Flynn to us before sundown tomorrow will cost you your life.I recalled the last words the two young men said to Laura about Flynn. I never wanted to intervene in the matter but the fact I knew that his closest friend was about to betray him and I had the opportunity to save him was killing me.I had many reasons not to help him; one of those reasons was that I didn’t know if Flynn had the same intentions for her. While contemplating on the matter I took out the address the waiter at the restaurant had given to me. “What in the world should I do?” I thought to myself.Buzz… Buzz…The vibration of my phone knocked me off my thoughts. I took it out of my side pocket only to see that it was Alicia calling. My mind skipped at the sight of her name. Considering the clash we had a f

  • The Alpha's Catalyst   THE CRY FOR HELP

MARCUS POVI walked out of the hospital with my eyes on Stiles cell phone. I had taken his scent since following it was the only way I would get to him more quickly.I took Flynn's car as I tracked Stiles’ scent down to a highway. There were forests on either side of the road and just by a corner was a small road. His scent was coming from that area but since the road was rough I came out of the car then forged ahead on foot.I travelled several meters until I arrived before a signboard with the inscription. DANGER: NO TRESPASSING.It was weird but I neglected the warning as I continued moving. What was the worst situation I could expect from this? I was a werewolf and if there was anything scary beyond the poster, then it was me.It was a small community and everything was destroyed. There was no sign of life as all I could see was wrecked buildings, shattered roads and long abandoned belongings. The clothing hanging on ropes were worn out, It was like life had ceased to exist here f

MARCUS P.O.V"What pack did you come from?""Did you kill your Alpha?""Where are the rest of your pack?" Flynn and Rina kept throwing questions at me. The questions were discomforting because I was also confused. Why would they ask me these questions? What were they seeing that I am not?"If you have a pack, why are you hunting alone?" Rina asked again."That's enough!" I stopped them. "I am not an Alpha and I don't have a pack." "Then why are your eyes red?" Flynn said. I furrowed my eyebrows in uncertainty and just then he threw a knife made of steel at me. I caught it then looked at my reflection. I was stunned at what I saw. My eyes were truly glowing red. I knew what this implied but I didn’t have the nerve to say so myself.I pondered deeply in case I had killed an Alpha by mistake but there was none I could remember. The only Alpha werewolf I had encountered was my father, Harold and Wayde, the leader of the wayde pack. In the two encounters, I was beaten up and I didn't at

MARCUS P.O.V“Marcus, no,” Rina said but ignoring her I ran off. While heading deep into the tunnel I put on a bracelet. Upon my arrival I saw over thirty Kanimas, they were gathered inside a large opening underground. The place was noisy and they were so busy with what they were doing that they didn’t realize my presence.I looked forward to the direction they were staring and right there I saw Stiles chained to the top of the underground. There was a cage a few meters away from where he was chained and there were a few persons held hostage inside the cage.I saw blood dripping down his bare body, his shirt was ripped off and he was in a bad shape. Tears almost dropped down my eyes when I saw how helpless he was, and I felt even worse because I didn’t know how to rescue him from them.“Marcus,” Flynn approached from behind. “We have to leave now,’ he said.“I am not going anywhere,” I replied.“I understand that you want to rescue him but you can’t do that by standing here. MARCUS P.O.VToday brought back the memories of my brothers, it made me remember Ronald and Wilfred. If they were here, they would not let me go through these troubles alone, they would have stood by me until it was all over. If my pack was with me then these so called Kanimas would have fled from my sight.I knew that my reason for leaving was worth it but that can’t satisfy the fact that I still need them now more than ever. However, it’s too late to go back, I am a lone wolf. Leaving them could make me meet some new folks and even if I don’t win the trust of anyone else, I will always be glad that I took the risk.It took several minutes before I arrived at the underground cave. I turned around making my way up the high rocks which surrounded the kanimas camp and by the time I got to the front, I saw Rina and Flynn tied two trees with the company of the kanima pack gathered before them. They were all in their human form making it easy to spot Shawn Green this time. “Traitor,” I h

ALICIA P.O.VDays passed swiftly and my womb grew faster, the pain got severe but following Helen’s instructions made it bearable. During these few days Helen told me a few about the cost and duration for having the child of a werewolf in someone’s womb. For both werewolf parents, the female werewolf was supposed to give birth after the end of three months but from her explanation, the cost of a human carrying a werewolf in the womb could go the wrong way. She said the human could die in the process and it could take even shorter than three months.I was seated alone on a long bench outside the temple. It was cool weather, the sky was moist and the wind blew softly. Luckily, I wasn’t in so much pain today like usual and that enabled me to think more straight.I remembered all my pleasant experiences with my friends during my stay outside the country. I knew that my mailbox would be full by now. I miss them so much. Even my poor father who is left in the shadows. I needed him by my sid

Alicia, Maxwell and Stiles were also with me.We went upstairs as we walked through a fancy door which opened up to a large and furnished room. There was a large round table at the center of the room and an elderly man was seated on one of the chairs.“Mr. Lucas, your guests have arrived,” the man who brought us in announced.Lucas’ eyes lit the moment he saw us. “Oh, please take a seat,” he said with a cheerful smile on his face and we all did. “This must be your beautiful wife Alicia Lindsey.”“Yes, she is,” I replied then furrowed my eyebrows in uncertainty. “How did you know?” I asked. He lifts his eyebrows. “Well, news flies these days, especially giv

ALICIA P.O.VIt hurts so much to think I was wrong but it hurts even more to give up trying. I had always fought to have even if it was a moment with my son but now at the verge of losing everything I realized I had made a terrible mistake.I saw his deadly fangs above me; they were ready to rip off my bones. His claws were more painful than anything I had ever felt. I had lost him to the darkness. All these could have been avoided if not for my greed. If I had sacrificed him earlier, I would have been able to save everyone.I was about to take my last breath when I heard a clash. I opened my eyes and Maxwell was off me. I looked sideways to see Marcus struggling to hold him back from getting to me.‘No,’ I thought to myself as I transformed into a human. I struggled on my feet. If anyone had to die while trying to stop him then it would be me.“Maxwell, stop please,” I yelled but my voice ended in a whisper. While approaching, I watched Maxwell hit Marcus severally until he returned

MARCUS P.O.VFinally it’s time, the dark clouds had covered the sky and it was only thirty minutes before the blood moon rises. We were all in the woods, far deep into the island and as far away as possible from the main city. There were a lot of us. Alicia and I were only standing about ten feet away from Maxwell while Ronald, Wilfred and Flynn were chaining him to the trees. We found the best spot in the forest with the largest trees and we also used multiple large iron chains in hopes that they will be able to hold him until his transformation is complete.I could already see Maxwell’s beastly eyes as he kept glaring at us.“Ronald, hurry up,” I said.“It’s almost ready,” he answered and after a while they both returned to where I was standing.“Max, you have to stay calm, you can do this,” Alicia said.“No, I can’t,” Maxwell replied. “Save me, please… Mom,” he called out.I held her back when she was about to take a step. She looked at me and I wagged my head gently."Dad, why are

Thus time Aracely won't be the one coming to me, I would be meeting her myself."Aracely!" I called as soon as I arrived at her secret grounds."Marcus," I heard her voice behind and I turned to see her standing just three feet away. "What are you doing, you should not be here." "I need answers, Aracely. Enough of the preamble… tell me what I should expect tomorrow," I said."I have already told you everything you have to know. Tomorrow will crown his fate and the chance he will be good is slim, it might not work so you must be prepared," She replied."No, let me look at it myself," I said."That has never happened since the history of Alpha’s, you cannot use that sacred tool," She said.“It doesn’t matter now. As we all know today is my birthday and I am entirely grateful to all of you for being here but most especially to my awesome parents Mr and Mrs Dominick. They have always stood by me all through, most especially my mother Alicia Dominick…”I heaved a sigh as I closed my eyes in disappointment at the last sentence he made. I looked at Alicia and I could see the huge smile over her face. I could tell that she was enjoying it. I thought I was Maxwell’s favourite but it ended up being her.“Most especially your mother, huh,” I chuckled, then looked back at the stage.“I am grateful that despite the challenges she was tough enough to face it and determined to hold on to me until the end, even if it could have killed her. When everyone gave up on me she persisted. I love you so much mom and I will love you until the end

MARCUS P.O.VI walked inside the building while holding Alicia’s hand. The hall was filled up with both humans and werewolves as rock music filled the air. There was no strange pack present; I made sure that the sentinels never allowed any werewolf from another tribe to venture into the island.Everything was coordinated just like it should be and I trusted my pack to be great at blending in with the humans without causing any arousal, and that was all thanks to my late parents who taught them well.“Marcus, look who showed up,” Alicia said. I looked only to see that it was Katherine. I saw the excitement over Alicia’s face.“Will she be a burden to you?” I asked.“Are you kidding me,” Alicia said with a frown on her face.“Sorry, I was only joking, go on, go and have fun with your friend, I will keep an eye on things,” I said to her.“Okay, please watch Max but don’t spy on him,” she said.“Yes ma’am, but you know that they both mean the same thing…” I was yet to complete my statemen

However, he Still assumed his position as the Alpha of his father's pack.He wasn't the only ruler of the pack since I was ruling beside him. To me it all seemed like a dream. And when speaking of a dream I am talking about the story of a feeble human who fell in love with a charming beast, a mortal chased and hunted by a pack for years was now ruling as Luna of the same pack that tried to kill her.Now the feeble mortal is known as the most revered Luna since the history of the Dominik's pack. And not just that, but far stronger than any Luna who had ever ruled beside the Alpha.Looking back from where I am I was grateful for everything that I had gone through. All my efforts were worth it and even my son, the one they say will doom the world had the most charms than anyone else.I was not only glad to have him but I am al

Even right now I feel sorry and indebted to her.The dark cloud had already covered the sky when Meredith escorted us out of the house. She wrapped her blanket around her body to protect her from the cold breeze and by the time we arrived at our car she looked down at Maxwell. “Thank you for showing me what you showed me earlier. It felt good to see her face again,” she said to him.“You are welcome ma’am. I know you needed it,” Maxwell replied.Hearing that got me curious but I guessed it was best that I don’t ask. I was okay as long as whatever he showed Meredith made her see things differently.“Guys, I think we have company,” Ronald alarmed us. I looked to see who he was speaking of and from the distance I saw a young man approaching with a bottle of drink in his hand.“Daniel... Ma
