Two

Calla’s POV

We woke up as early as possible to start our journey, we had to walk for days before finally getting to a point where we were picked up, everything at this new pack looked different and advanced.

I knew most of them but I never thought I would get to see a city ad big as this, the people there were more organized and it was crowded, we both got into the vehicle and the drive to Axel’s house continued.

“I’m really tired and hungry, my legs hurt from having to walk so much.” I sighed as I got into the car, he’d held the door open for me and watched as I got in.

“You’ll get to eat and rest properly when we finally get home.” He answered, getting in and pulling me closer to him as I placed my head on his shoulder.

“Home,” I whispered, “I like the sound of that.” I added with a smile and turning, he planted a kiss on my forehead.

“Bright wood will always be your home.” He answered and I broke out a smile as I closed my eyes, his shoulders were comfortable.

Axel was different, he was unlike the rest of the Alphas I’d seen that wanted me only for my position and what they could get from me, I could tell Axel loved me genuinely and I silently thanked the moon goddess for sending him my way.

“We’re here, Calla.” I felt a shake and I flickered my eyes open, I had fallen asleep and didn’t know when we got to his pack.

I opened my eyes to see the most magnificent building I’d ever set my eyes on, it was so big and even bigger than my father’s palace back home. My jaw dropped as I struggled to get out of the car, my eyes was still fixated on the building as I took the beautiful sight in.

“Stop acting so surprised.” Axel nudged me and I closed my mouth at once, it was late already and every where seemed dark, the house was silent as we walked in and he carried me in his arms when he realized my legs were too weak to take me any further.

We got to a room where the bed was huge, the room itself was bigger than my room back home and I gasped at the sight of it. Axel gently laid me down on the bed as he walked to another part of the room.

“Your bath is running, you should have a relaxing shower and I can introduce you to the family and reveal you as my mate tomorrow.” He announced and I smiled. I couldn’t wait to meet them.

I stood to pull my clothes off but was too shy since Axel was still in the room, I’d asked for him to leave while I undress and he only smiled.

“You should start being comfortable with getting naked around me.” He smiled as he stood from the table he was sitting on, he’d walked to the bathroom to check on the bath and was surprised when he saw me still dressed up.

He started pulling his clothes off and I gasped as I placed a palm on my eyes and turned my back on him, that was the first time I would ever see a man undress in front of me and so I didn’t know how to act.

“Come On Calla, I’m your mate, you should get used to doing this more often.” He teased as he spun me around that I turned and I staggered, almost falling but he caught me and my hand rested on his bare chest.

I traced my fingers on his chest and I could feel his heart beat, his chest was huge and he was muscular, his veins visible that I couldn’t resist the temptation to run my fingers on them.

“Hmm.” He moaned lightly and that kickstarted a foreign emotion inside me, I wanted to hear more of it and so I did it again.

He helped me with the button of my gown and I only stood there and let him do what he wanted, the gown fell that I was now standing in front of him in my underwear, I was shy and had wanted to pick my gown back up to cover up myself.

“Don’t do that.” He whispered and I stopped as he pulled me back up, I looked into his eyes and I was lost in it, it was though I was drowning by just looking at him.

“W... what are you doing?” I managed to say when he traced his cold fingers on my skin and he placed his mouth on my back to kiss it before turning me to face him again and kissing my lips It was a sweet passionate kiss that left me yearning for more.

“You’ve had a long day, you should have your bath now and go to bed.” He broke the kiss and ushered me to the bathroom, I winced at first when I got into the cold water but my body soon start to relax.

I got myself cleaned up and I found towels that I used to wrap my body, I walked back to the room to find Axel also coming in with a plate in hand, he’d gone to make dinner for me.

“You’re so sweet.” I commented as I kissed him and ate my food heartily, I walked back to the bed and it was so comfortable that I struggled to keep my eye open.

The door closed shut and I could tell that Axel was out of my room already.

The sound of people talking and footsteps woke me up from my deep sleep and I winced when I stood up and the sun had hit my face, I walked to the bathroom to have my bath and I saw a dress laid out on the bed for me already.

I knew I spent the night alone as since we were not really mates yet to everyone, he hasn’t quite introduced me yet, it was simple courtesy for him to not sleep in the same room as me.

I started to get dressed as I silently prayed that he would come to see me this morning, I smiled when I put my clothes on and I heard a knock on the door.

“Come in.” I answered and a lady in her late fifties walked in, she’d introduced herself as one of the maids and she would be walking me around the house.

Axel was the sweetest and the butterflies in my stomach only grew when he’d told everyone that I was his mate.

The old lady gave me a tour round the house and I had asked that I go back to my room to rest as I was tired already.

“What do you mean you know what you’re doing, Axel?” I heard a feminine voice ask as I walked past one of the rooms, my curiosity took over and I found myself walking back to peep and hear what they were saying.

I saw Axel and another woman, I couldn’t see her face because her back was to the door as I peeped. What was going on? I decided I was going to stay to know.

“You’ve just announced her as your mate, in front of everyone and you dare tell me you know what you’re doing?” The woman asked again and I could tell that they were talking about me.
