Chapter 63

Calla's POV

I woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside my window. It was a beautiful morning, and I felt well-rested after a good night's sleep. I stretched my limbs and sat up, taking a deep breath of the fresh morning air. As I turned my head to glance around the room, my eyes widened with surprise. Seated calmly across the room, smiling at me, was Lucian.

My mouth dropped open in shock, and for a moment, I was speechless. I never expected him to be back so soon. He had left the pack in my care and hadn't mentioned when he would return. The last time I saw him, he was headed off to deal with some urgent pack business, and I assumed it would take him weeks, if not months.

"Good morning, Calla," Lucian said, breaking the silence. His voice was calm and composed, and he looked perfectly relaxed, as if he had been there for a while.
