Freya's P.O.V

The minute I stepped inside my house…I knew that my father was back.

Several of the furniture's were overturned and the house looked like a tornado had hit it while I was away. Broken plates and vases, papers and god knows what else lay on the floor. I stepped inside carefully, making sure that I didn't step on anything important.

My father was back for money and this time, he was desperate. Still a voice in my head asked, 'when was he not desperate for money'?

He had made gambling his entire life and I was tired of cleaning up after him. I was done dealing with his shit.

A crashing sound came from my room. Swallowing the lump in my throat, I stayed put. He wasn't just invading my privacy, but he was also destroying things that were precious to me. I didn't want to be anywhere near him at this point.

As the stench of alcohol filled my nostrils, from the champagne that had dried on my clothes, I rubbed my arms to stop the shiver. I didn'

Cameron's P.O.V "Good evening ladies and gentlemen!" Sarah's father took the microphone to make an announcement. "The moment you've all been waiting for is here! Please welcome the birthday boy and his beautiful date onstage." 'I'm so sorry.' Sarah told me via the mental bond. 'First the dress and now this…I don't think he understands that mating bonds can't be forced.' 'It's alright.' I smile at her outwardly as I kept up the mental connection. 'Let's just get this show over with.' 'Yes, everything will become clear in a few seconds.' Sarah added as I got on stage and helped her up. The crowd, that consisted of all unmated women of the pack, from teens to young adults, started counting down the time left for my birthday. I took Sarah's hand and looked at the crowd with a smile, but no matter how I tried, it felt suffocating. When Sarah had appeared at my house, wearing a dress that had the same design as my jacket, I knew that it

Cameron's P.O.V The shock of the mating bond forming and the full force of the imprint had left me speechless; and before I knew it, it had already been too late. Derek had poured his drink on top of Freya's head, making her a laughing stock among the teens. If my father hadn't been there to intervene, I don't know what I would have done. But he stopped me from going too far with Derek and now, I was wondering if I even knew the boy who used to me my friend! I arrived at the street with the old rundown houses and moss covered fences in less than twenty minutes, but as soon as I entered the neighbourhood…something seemed off. I looked out at the two storied house which I knew was hers and got off the car. But then I paused mid-step. What was I going to tell Freya when I saw her? What could I possibly say to ease her hurt? To make her humiliation go away? Fuck! I really screwed up! I walked up to the front porch hesitantly, unsure of what I was going t

Cameron's P.O.V: I raced through the forest that led to the pack grounds. I wasn't going to use the front entry as it was going to be surrounded by guests who were already told to leave by my father himself. I don't know what happened to Derek, but I was sure that father would take care of him too. He was a fair and just Alpha and he didn't differentiate in punishment, even if it was his own son. 'Tell the doctors to prepare a bed and be ready to receive a human patient,' I telepathed Alex, as he was the only one I could trust right now, apart from Sarah. 'Inform Sarah too. I'm nearly there.' I hadn't trusted myself to take Freya to a human hospital. I needed her to be near me, around people I could trust to treat her well and people who wouldn't disobey my orders. That wouldn't have been possible at a human hospital. And with the wounds that she had, there was no doubt that it would get the police involved. I could protect her better. Freya was unconscious by t

Freya's P.O.V: A slow beeping sound woke me up from a deep slumber. At first, everything in front of my eyes was hazy, unfocused, but slowly, as I blinked several times, still feeling the drowsiness wanting to take over me, lull me back into a deep sleep. But I fought the urge. Something felt wrong…different. And it scared me. Forcing my eyes open with all the strength I had, I looked up at the clear white ceiling and immediately knew that I was no longer in my own house. My house was falling apart, with fine cracks spreading like spider-webs on the ceiling and paint that was crusting off. This ceiling looked brand new and well kept. Fuck! Was I in a hospital? I remembered what had happened at the party…and then getting almost beaten to death by my father… Shit! Julian! Did he come home to find me like this? Did his friend's parents take me to the hospital? NO! Fear like I had never known before gripped my heart in its i

Freya's P.O.V "You have a lot of questions, I can tell." Sarah guided me back to the bed I had woken up in. "And I promise to answer as many of them as I can, but I need you to be open-minded about this, okay? Can you please do that for me?" Open minded? I wanted to laugh so badly at everything that was happening. I was pretty sure I was either already dead or hallucinating. Cameron could turn into an animal…a wolf! Sarah and his friends were all wolves. And even after what had happened, I still felt more comfortable with Sarah, despite her admitting to being a wolf. All these had to be a hallucination of some kind…right? "Have I gone crazy?" I asked Sarah instead, stopping in front of the bed as she went to shut the door to give us privacy…or probably to kill me without anyone noticing. "Of course not!" Sarah came forward to place her hands on my shoulders. "I'm so sorry you feel this way. Cameron and I didn't

Sarah's P.O.V My heart broke for Freya. She had been through so much in such a short amount of time and I haven't told her the most vital part yet. "Do you want me to leave?" I asked her, hoping that she would disagree. "I can come back tomorrow morning, or-" "Stay with me!" Freya caught my arm before I could finish the sentence. "Please." Looking into her huge blue eyes, I felt relief that she wanted me to stay, but at the same time, an overwhelming feeling of guilt filled my heart. If Cameron hadn't found out she was his mate, then we would have never known the life she was living. Would any of us had gone out of our way to help her or would we have kept our distance…never knowing the pain she was suffering in silence. It made me feel like a horrible person. "I think one of the biggest questions on your mind is why we helped you…or why you're here." Freya looked up at me in surprise, and I knew I ha

Cameron's P.O.V The next morning, I woke up early despite not having had much sleep all night. Sarah had stayed with Freya until she had fallen asleep early in the morning and then she had informed me that she was leaving. I had asked her to sleep over, in one of the guest rooms inside the pack house that was reserved for her, but she had told me about her parent's over-reaction to finding out she wasn't my mate. I wasn't particularly interested in finding out about their reaction in details, but for the sake of my father's business, I would have to. It was around eight o' clock when I came down to the private dining area to meet both Alex and Sarah, to have breakfast with them as well as discuss everything that we missed last night. Derek used to be a part of the team, but I wasn't sure of what exactly happened to him yet. However, if he did dare show up, I was going to rip his guts out, finish what I had started last night and just be done with it, come what may.

Cameron's P.O.V Derek took one look at me and his eyes widened in surprise. "You know…" he whispered through swollen lips. I nodded, debating on how to handle the situation. Even if he had acted out of jealousy, he had crossed several boundaries and he had to face punishment for them accordingly. If going to this camp in New York helped him become a better person, so be it. He was pretty beat up. Now that it was broad daylight, I could see that his entire face was pretty badly messed up. I had gone too far as well. In my anger, I hadn't acted very rationally as a future Alpha should. "I'm sorry, for hitting you like this." I told him, because I didn't want him to leave on a bad note either. Derek had been my friend since we were little and he had already gotten his punishment. What was the point of me adding salt to his injuries? "I deserved it." He said now, lowering his head. "I shouldn't have acted like a jerk al

Lilac's P.O.V It's been a long ride and a very eventful one at that and anytime I think about what Krimson and I have been through, I'm just grateful we had the strength to go through everything we went through and we were able to come out of it even stronger than how we were before. As the sun cast its warm, golden rays across the university campus, I found myself sitting on a bench, the weight of decisions pressing against my chest. The soft whispers of the leaves rustling in the gentle breeze mirrored the conflicted thoughts swirling in my mind. Krimson, my mate, had offered a future tied to our pack, an enticing prospect for many, but not for me. I gazed at the sprawling grounds, feeling a tug in my heart that wasn't just about academic pursuits. The university held promises beyond the textbooks and lectures. It offered freedom—freedom to carve my own identity, to explore knowledge that extended far beyond the boundaries of our pack's traditions. I yearned to brea

Krimson's P.O.V I woke up to the pale light filtering through the hospital room, the faint beeping of monitors sounding in the background. My vision was hazy at first, the events leading up to this moment a jumbled mess in my mind. As I blinked and slowly tried to focus, the first thing that became clear was Lilac's form, peacefully asleep in a chair next to my bed. Relief washed over me as memories flooded back, fragments piecing together into a coherent narrative. "Lilac," I whispered softly, my voice hoarse from disuse. She stirred slightly, a faint flutter of eyelashes against her cheeks, but she remained deep in slumber. The sight of her there, unwavering by my side, despite everything that had transpired, filled me with an inexplicable warmth. I couldn't help but recall the chaos of that night—the confrontation, the whirlwind of emotions, and then the blankness as consciousness slipped away from me. But here I was, waking up to her steadfast presence. It m

Lilac's P.O.V I watched Silver hurl accusations at me, adding to my guilt. I wanted to explain, to make her understand that it wasn't intentional, that the circumstances had shifted beyond my control. But words seemed to desert me in that moment as I grappled with the weight of her accusation. However, Krimson's voice echoed in the room then, commanding even though weak. "Silver, it's not Lilac's fault," he said firmly, his voice carrying the weight of authority. "I made the decision. I took action to protect." Silver's gaze snapped toward Krimson, her eyes filled with disbelief. "What are you saying, Krimson? You hated her, didn't you? Then why would you risk your life to save her?" Krimson shook his head solemnly. "No, Silver. I never hated Lilac, it was our circumstances that I hated. It felt like the Goddess had played a cruel joke on me. But I couldn't run away from a bond fated by the goddess herself, Silver. I had caused Lilac enough pain as it is…I

Lilac's P.O.V I nodded, my mind racing with the urgency of the situation. I moved towards Silver, hoping against hope that all of this worked. "Silver…" I called out to her slowly, making her head snap in my direction. "Please…you need to stop all of this." But Silver's face twisted in a sinister smirk. "It's too late to stop any of this, Lilac. This ends with one of us." "It doesn't have to be that way, Silvia." I shook my head, pleading with her. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Del approaching her steadily from behind her, while I kept on engaging her in conversion. "It does, Lilac." Silver snapped at me, turning her body around so she was facing me completely. "You don't understand-" It was all Del needed, for her to turn away, so that our plan worked. Without wasting a second, he came up behind Silver and wrapped his arms around her body, holding her in place as he took her by surprise

Lilac's P.O.V For a moment, time seemed suspended, the tableau frozen in an eerie stillness. Silver hesitated, her gaze flickering between me and Krimson, the dagger held poised in the air, its lethal purpose momentarily forgotten in the face of Krimson's interruption. "Step away from her, Silver," Krimson's voice cut through the tension, unwavering and authoritative. His stance was firm, commanding obedience without question. The grip of Silver's magic lessened, the pressure easing just enough for me to draw a ragged breath. My muscles protested as I struggled against the binds anew, though I didn't dare to take my eyes off Silver, her expression a maelstrom of conflicting emotions - anger, desperation, and a hint of something I couldn't quite place. "Krimson, you shouldn't be here," Silver's voice wavered, a tremor betraying the turmoil within her. Her grip on the dagger faltered, uncertainty clouding her features. "You know I couldn't stand by and

Lilac's P.O.V The air was thick with tension, a palpable energy that crackled around us like a storm waiting to break. "Silver, you're fooling yourself if you think you can wield that kind of power," I said softly, my gaze fixed on the gleaming knife in her hands. "You're not a true Silver Alpha Breeder, you never will be. You can't ever access my full potential." Silver's laughter cut through the serene air, a sound that held a hint of something darker beneath its surface. "Oh, you have no idea, do you?" Her eyes glinted with an intensity that sent a shiver down my spine. "You underestimate what a witch can do, what I can do. I'm part wolf, part witch. I'm a hybrid that is already stronger than both a wolf and a witch! There's nothing I cannot do, Lilac!" "You think I chose you to lead our pack because of some noble sentiment? No, Lilac." Her voice was cold, devoid of any warmth. "I chose you because I knew the stronger you became, the more that dormant p

Lilac's P.O.V My eyes brimmed with confusion and hurt as I confronted Silver in the dimly lit room I was being held captive in. "Did you…ever really consider me a friend, Silver?" my voice trembled with a mixture of fear and desperation, my heart aching with the weight of betrayal. Silver, her gaze heavy with sorrow and a haunted past, met my eyes. "I used to belong to a peaceful pack, a pack that had been my home since the day I was born," she began, her voice tinged with a raw emotion that spoke volumes of her pain. "We lived in harmony, in unity. It was everything to me." Tears welled up in Silver's eyes, reflecting the agony of memories etched deep within her soul. "Your father," she whispered, the words heavy with anguish. "He... he attacked our pack. In the dead of night, when darkness cloaked the land, he led a brutal assault." I felt my heart ache for the woman that I had once considered my biggest alley, but now, she had turned out to be my bigges

Krimson's P.O.V The night hung heavy around us as we tore through the city streets, the engine's roar mingling with the howling wind. Del and I were on a mission—racing against time to reach Silver's apartment. It was imperative that we find Lilac before anything sinister unfolded. "Alpha Krimson, step on it!" Del's voice cut through the adrenaline-charged air, urgency lacing every word. His grip tightened on the door handle as we swerved through the dimly lit alleys, the neon signs blurring into streaks of color. "I'm pushing it as hard as I can!" I shouted back, my eyes fixed on the road ahead. The weight of worry pressed on me like a leaden cloak. We had to reach Silver's place, and had to find Lilac safe and sound. Finally, screeching to a halt outside Silver's building, we leaped out of the car. Breathless and tense, we dashed up the stairs, each step echoing the pounding of our hearts. As we reached Silver's door, our hopes soared, but a hollow silence gre

Lilac's P.O.V As I slowly arose to consciousness, I found myself grappling with the weight of my heavy eyelids. My mind sluggishly pieced together the fragments of reality, pushing through a dense fog of disorientation. The air felt heavy, each inhale a laborious effort that failed to fill my lungs as it should. A peculiar lightheadedness swept over me, a disconcerting sensation akin to floating on the edge of a dream. My initial attempt to stretch my arms, to move, met an unexpected resistance. Panic flickered through my drowsy mind as the realization hit home—I was restrained. My fingertips brushed against something coarse and unyielding, confirming my fear. The sensation sent a jolt of adrenaline through my groggy state, clearing the haze momentarily. I tried to rise, only to discover the cruel truth of my predicament: bound, not just by ropes or chains, but tied firmly to what appeared to be a marble table. The cool surface pressed against my skin, a s
