Lilac's P.O.V

White shirt. Black pants. Black Apron.

The most boring dress to wear at a million dollar party.

But then again, I wasn't invited as a guest, was I? I was a mere server, grouped in with all the others at the Soup House to serve here at Krimson's lavish party while people came in one by one in glamorous tuxedos and bedazzled gowns, jewelry I've only dreamed of wearing before and shoes that could literally kill.

While I stood behind the snacks counter, serving the guests and refilling the empty plates of condiments, one thing came to mind the most…why was I even here?

Alpha Krimson had asked for the younger staff at the Soup House to be servers tonight for some extra cash. The only two younger staff were Hoji and Kaleb, both around twenty three year old men who just graduated college and are waiting to get appointed to their jobs. Well, Hoji is waiting on his appointment letter, but Kaleb is still trying to figure out what to do.

But that

Lilac's P.O.V "Fuck! Seriously?" Liam cursed under his breath, loud enough that I could hear him. "What?" I asked him dumbfounded, not really aware of what just happened. "Well, either Krimson is acting like a jealous prick or he really wants to get you in trouble!" He sighed. "The guys that were just here at the counter? The ones I warned you about…well, those are the Alpha's. Elijah is the one wearing that ridiculous velvet red suit and best buddy in all brown is Killian." "Oh?" I looked across the room to find both Alpha's at an isolated corner of the room, talking to each other in hushed tones as if they were hatching some kind of conspiracy. Killian still seemed pleasant, but Alpha Elijah? No…there seemed something wrong with that man. As if noticing my stare, he looked up from his glass and his gaze met mine for a millisecond, but it was enough to give me the creeps. And Alpha Krimson had tagged them

Lilac's P.O.V Hope… It shouldn't even exist in my vocabulary. 'This is why strays shouldn't be picked up from the streets in the first place.' Krimson's words still rang out loud and clear in my mind, even though he hadn't said it loud enough for everyone to hear. But that didn't make a difference. It was clear enough for me. He could've said 'I hate your guts' in a thousand other languages and it wouldn't have hurt this much…not as much as those words had. Alpha Krimson knew exactly how to cross all boundaries. Knew exactly where to shoot so it hurt the most. I backed away from the crowd as Alpha Killian and Alpha Elijah followed Krimson out of the room, followed by Beta Luca. Now that the drama was done, people seemed to go back to their usual chatter, not caring that my world was just being ripped apart. I couldn't give voices to the screams inside my head; to the tumultuous racket inside my heart…the sound of it breaking into a millio

Krimson's P.O.V 'Send her to me so she can apologize! I don't understand how you can let such insolent people stay in your pack!' 'Aren't you showing too much interest in a server? We're hosting this party for business related purposes.' 'If you really want that land, Alpha Krimson, then have that insolent maid apologize. I do not believe in making deals with packs that don't respect me.' 'Go in, get on your hands and knees and apologize to Alpha Elijah!' The entire conversation with Elijah and Lilac played over and over in my head as I sat in my living room, unable to let it slide. It's true that I needed to get that piece of land from Elijah at any cost, because it would cement my control over all of Kansas, making me the only Alpha in the entire state, but I had never seen Elijah be this eager to get an apology from a servant. From what I'd heard…it was possible that Killian was his lover, and both of them were only in their mid-twenties, so they

Lilac's P.O.V "Let go of me." I moved onto the other side of the bed, trying to dodge Alpha Elijah as he moved to cage me against the wall. "No…" I had been wrong about him before. He may not look like it, but he was strong as an Alpha, strong enough to overpower me within seconds. I hadn't even had time to understand what was happening before he had pulled me inside his room and started to kiss my neck. No matter how hard I had tried to push him away, it hadn't seemed to be working. He was stronger, much stronger than I had expected. "Let go of me! Please…" I begged, just as he caught a hold of my ankle and hauled me under him across the bed. "You think you can reject me and get away?" Alpha Elijah scoffed. "Krimson is getting a huge deal from me. Getting to have you in return is just a little price to pay, don't you think?" I shook my head vigorously, refusing to believe that Krimson would stoop so

Krimson's P.O.V "Alpha Krimson?" Elijah tried to give me a nervous smile, but I caught a hold of his neck and held him above the ground, my claws slicing out to dig into the tender flesh of his neck. "Don't even try to find excuses." I spat at him before using all my strength to throw him across the room. He fell onto the coffee table and I had the satisfaction of watching the glass shatter as he went down on top of it, embedding the shards onto his back. His cry for help did little to appease the rage within me. The sight of blood on the floor did little to comfort the beast that wanted to rip into his chest until I was hold his beating heart in my hands…watching his eyes widen in horror as I ripped the organ out of his chest cavity. "You'll be locked up in the cellar," I told him through gritted teeth. "And you will be held in trial at the Supernatural Council. I'll ask every single person in your pack if I have to, but I wil

Lilac's P.O.V "You're being awfully quiet." Dani took a seat beside me at the cafeteria. "Are you sure you're ok?" I looked up at her through my lashes from where I had my head down on the table. All I could do was give her a small nod before closing my eyes once again, ignoring the chatter all around me. Everyone knew about me spilling drinks onto Alpha Elijah…no one knew what happened after. How my world had tipped off its axis and everything had just came crashing down around me… I don't know who gave them the orders or told them to keep shut, but even Kaleb and Hoji have been awfully quiet and have been avoiding me since this morning. "Lily?" Dani placed her hand on my shoulders comfortingly, but I just didn't have the strength to shrug her off. I loved Dani, I really did. She was my biggest support inside the pack, my best friend…but at this moment, all I wanted was to be left alone. I had had a tiring day…a tiring

Lilac's P.O.V Panting, gasping and exhausted, I plopped down onto an empty patch of grass devoid of flyaway plastic cups and other debris, trying my best to catch my breath after having the best time of my life. "Never. Again." Dani said from beside me, covering her mouth with her hands like she was about to throw up. "Eww! Don't throw up here! Go to the washroom." I told her half-heartedly. But at that moment, my heart was too full, too contented. And I couldn't believe it was because of riding the rollercoaster for the first time! "Ugh!" Dani groaned, placing her hand in front of her mouth. "I think I'm gonna…" She was up and running for the nearest bin to empty her guts of all the cotton candy and corn dogs she's had since arriving at the fair this afternoon. I don't know if it was out of concern or if Liam asked him to, but Tawin went after Dani to make sure she was alright, just as Liam plopped down

Krimson's P.O.V My hands tightened on the steering wheel as I saw Liam and Lilac coming out of the fair ground together hand in hand as they walked back to Liam's car with Tawin in the lead. I was acting on impulse, like a fool. Why did come all the way here? Why did I decide to follow the GPS in Liam's car once I found out that he had cut classes with Lilac? Why was I still here now that I had ascertained that she was doing alright? It didn't make any sense. Nothing that I had been doing for the past month has been making any sense to me. Both Elijah and Luca seem to have been right. Whenever it came to Lilac, my judgment was always cloudy. There was always a war raging on between my mind and my heart. Between my wolf and the part of me that was still human. I thought there was no humanity left in me. After everything that I had been though because of Dawn Wood…but the more I stayed near Lilac, the more it's becoming to stay away. Yes, w

Lilac's P.O.V It's been a long ride and a very eventful one at that and anytime I think about what Krimson and I have been through, I'm just grateful we had the strength to go through everything we went through and we were able to come out of it even stronger than how we were before. As the sun cast its warm, golden rays across the university campus, I found myself sitting on a bench, the weight of decisions pressing against my chest. The soft whispers of the leaves rustling in the gentle breeze mirrored the conflicted thoughts swirling in my mind. Krimson, my mate, had offered a future tied to our pack, an enticing prospect for many, but not for me. I gazed at the sprawling grounds, feeling a tug in my heart that wasn't just about academic pursuits. The university held promises beyond the textbooks and lectures. It offered freedom—freedom to carve my own identity, to explore knowledge that extended far beyond the boundaries of our pack's traditions. I yearned to brea

Krimson's P.O.V I woke up to the pale light filtering through the hospital room, the faint beeping of monitors sounding in the background. My vision was hazy at first, the events leading up to this moment a jumbled mess in my mind. As I blinked and slowly tried to focus, the first thing that became clear was Lilac's form, peacefully asleep in a chair next to my bed. Relief washed over me as memories flooded back, fragments piecing together into a coherent narrative. "Lilac," I whispered softly, my voice hoarse from disuse. She stirred slightly, a faint flutter of eyelashes against her cheeks, but she remained deep in slumber. The sight of her there, unwavering by my side, despite everything that had transpired, filled me with an inexplicable warmth. I couldn't help but recall the chaos of that night—the confrontation, the whirlwind of emotions, and then the blankness as consciousness slipped away from me. But here I was, waking up to her steadfast presence. It m

Lilac's P.O.V I watched Silver hurl accusations at me, adding to my guilt. I wanted to explain, to make her understand that it wasn't intentional, that the circumstances had shifted beyond my control. But words seemed to desert me in that moment as I grappled with the weight of her accusation. However, Krimson's voice echoed in the room then, commanding even though weak. "Silver, it's not Lilac's fault," he said firmly, his voice carrying the weight of authority. "I made the decision. I took action to protect." Silver's gaze snapped toward Krimson, her eyes filled with disbelief. "What are you saying, Krimson? You hated her, didn't you? Then why would you risk your life to save her?" Krimson shook his head solemnly. "No, Silver. I never hated Lilac, it was our circumstances that I hated. It felt like the Goddess had played a cruel joke on me. But I couldn't run away from a bond fated by the goddess herself, Silver. I had caused Lilac enough pain as it is…I

Lilac's P.O.V I nodded, my mind racing with the urgency of the situation. I moved towards Silver, hoping against hope that all of this worked. "Silver…" I called out to her slowly, making her head snap in my direction. "Please…you need to stop all of this." But Silver's face twisted in a sinister smirk. "It's too late to stop any of this, Lilac. This ends with one of us." "It doesn't have to be that way, Silvia." I shook my head, pleading with her. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Del approaching her steadily from behind her, while I kept on engaging her in conversion. "It does, Lilac." Silver snapped at me, turning her body around so she was facing me completely. "You don't understand-" It was all Del needed, for her to turn away, so that our plan worked. Without wasting a second, he came up behind Silver and wrapped his arms around her body, holding her in place as he took her by surprise

Lilac's P.O.V For a moment, time seemed suspended, the tableau frozen in an eerie stillness. Silver hesitated, her gaze flickering between me and Krimson, the dagger held poised in the air, its lethal purpose momentarily forgotten in the face of Krimson's interruption. "Step away from her, Silver," Krimson's voice cut through the tension, unwavering and authoritative. His stance was firm, commanding obedience without question. The grip of Silver's magic lessened, the pressure easing just enough for me to draw a ragged breath. My muscles protested as I struggled against the binds anew, though I didn't dare to take my eyes off Silver, her expression a maelstrom of conflicting emotions - anger, desperation, and a hint of something I couldn't quite place. "Krimson, you shouldn't be here," Silver's voice wavered, a tremor betraying the turmoil within her. Her grip on the dagger faltered, uncertainty clouding her features. "You know I couldn't stand by and

Lilac's P.O.V The air was thick with tension, a palpable energy that crackled around us like a storm waiting to break. "Silver, you're fooling yourself if you think you can wield that kind of power," I said softly, my gaze fixed on the gleaming knife in her hands. "You're not a true Silver Alpha Breeder, you never will be. You can't ever access my full potential." Silver's laughter cut through the serene air, a sound that held a hint of something darker beneath its surface. "Oh, you have no idea, do you?" Her eyes glinted with an intensity that sent a shiver down my spine. "You underestimate what a witch can do, what I can do. I'm part wolf, part witch. I'm a hybrid that is already stronger than both a wolf and a witch! There's nothing I cannot do, Lilac!" "You think I chose you to lead our pack because of some noble sentiment? No, Lilac." Her voice was cold, devoid of any warmth. "I chose you because I knew the stronger you became, the more that dormant p

Lilac's P.O.V My eyes brimmed with confusion and hurt as I confronted Silver in the dimly lit room I was being held captive in. "Did you…ever really consider me a friend, Silver?" my voice trembled with a mixture of fear and desperation, my heart aching with the weight of betrayal. Silver, her gaze heavy with sorrow and a haunted past, met my eyes. "I used to belong to a peaceful pack, a pack that had been my home since the day I was born," she began, her voice tinged with a raw emotion that spoke volumes of her pain. "We lived in harmony, in unity. It was everything to me." Tears welled up in Silver's eyes, reflecting the agony of memories etched deep within her soul. "Your father," she whispered, the words heavy with anguish. "He... he attacked our pack. In the dead of night, when darkness cloaked the land, he led a brutal assault." I felt my heart ache for the woman that I had once considered my biggest alley, but now, she had turned out to be my bigges

Krimson's P.O.V The night hung heavy around us as we tore through the city streets, the engine's roar mingling with the howling wind. Del and I were on a mission—racing against time to reach Silver's apartment. It was imperative that we find Lilac before anything sinister unfolded. "Alpha Krimson, step on it!" Del's voice cut through the adrenaline-charged air, urgency lacing every word. His grip tightened on the door handle as we swerved through the dimly lit alleys, the neon signs blurring into streaks of color. "I'm pushing it as hard as I can!" I shouted back, my eyes fixed on the road ahead. The weight of worry pressed on me like a leaden cloak. We had to reach Silver's place, and had to find Lilac safe and sound. Finally, screeching to a halt outside Silver's building, we leaped out of the car. Breathless and tense, we dashed up the stairs, each step echoing the pounding of our hearts. As we reached Silver's door, our hopes soared, but a hollow silence gre

Lilac's P.O.V As I slowly arose to consciousness, I found myself grappling with the weight of my heavy eyelids. My mind sluggishly pieced together the fragments of reality, pushing through a dense fog of disorientation. The air felt heavy, each inhale a laborious effort that failed to fill my lungs as it should. A peculiar lightheadedness swept over me, a disconcerting sensation akin to floating on the edge of a dream. My initial attempt to stretch my arms, to move, met an unexpected resistance. Panic flickered through my drowsy mind as the realization hit home—I was restrained. My fingertips brushed against something coarse and unyielding, confirming my fear. The sensation sent a jolt of adrenaline through my groggy state, clearing the haze momentarily. I tried to rise, only to discover the cruel truth of my predicament: bound, not just by ropes or chains, but tied firmly to what appeared to be a marble table. The cool surface pressed against my skin, a s
