Emma Grey

Was there anything I could do to appease this suffocating air?

My throat went dry with how much of the poisonous air I unconsciously inhaled, all reek with grilling black smoke that had begun to obscure my sight. And even my eyes had watered, having it stinging my pupils as I blinked it repetitively.

Another cough left my throat as whisked of smoke filling my system, infusing my lungs even more. It was getting even more strenuous to breathe in the air giving the thick smoke surrounding us now.

My hand flew to cover my nose, attempting to ward off the smoke that had scrambled into my senses. Seeing the flames ablaze a couple of feet away from where we were had my mind spiral with restlessness.

We had to escape from this place, fast.

I could already feel the heat of the raging fire from where I stood, I couldn't imagine how it was for him. With them being closer to where it had mostly spreaded, the fire must've roasted them greatly.

If the heavy pants on both men in fr

Nathan Black “Nathan! Watch out!” Emma's reverberating voice echoed through the forest, alarmingly filled with terror as my eyes met those distasteful features. One I had hoped to never again cross paths with. What the fuck was Xena doing here? My teeth gritted, tightening my jaw to the unrequested guest while both of my hands had roughly pinned Sir Joshue to the ground. Shit, what should I do? She clearly had prepared to pounce over in our direction. With my hand being full, forbidding him from attempting any other charges towards me had made my back open for other attacks to slip by. Of course, by her. The growl underneath me was clear as daylight, snickering to the situation I was in. I huffed a loud breath frustratingly, knowing the limitation of choices I was given as of now. I had to be more cautious than I had been before. With the additional wounds from the brawl, and the gashes on my back that had unceremoniously gotten even larger now, another attack from her wo

Emma Grey "I said let me go, you insolent child!" The gripped I had around her tightened, unconsciously making her writhing in pain from the pressure I had put against her wounded back. Pretty sure now she knew how it felt to receive those scarly hits. It wasn't fun when you were on the receiving end, wasn't it? Her nails were gripping and pushing on my shoulder, stinging my skin that even the cotton fabric couldn't shield me from her rough touch. But, I could take it, considering how used I was, immune if I were to exaggerate to her harsh demeanor. Truth to be told, my attention had actually been on her since I had landed on the ground, along with mom. All the time, though my hands were full, snaking itself around the perpetor, my eyes hadn't once left Elena. Recalling the way she had played around my back for how many years, no one would have guessed what she could've done to me this time around. However, what seemed to be very odd in this whole situation was definitely her.

Nathan BlackWhere was she?My legs time by time padded to a slower pace as it brought me to the all familiar places, one where I had left her in the hand of that worthless creature. What was I thinking when I knew what Xena had done to her, and how abusive she could be when it comes to her?I could never discard the memory that had awfully planted itself in my mind, as if I was experiencing it all over again the night we ambushed through her house.Starting from the scent of blood freshly reek itself even while we were still outside of the house, to the moment I busted into her room, only to witness her life almost slipping away from her body. I felt my throat swell just by the very thought of it, that it could easily happened again if I were to be stupidly careless. Can’t these legs swing faster, for god sake. It felt as though the world had moved slower than it had actually been, with my mind often directed to her being. The area that once seemed eerie had morphed into a much gri

Emma Grey "Emma! Move!"My head tilted to the now falling branch just a mere feet away from me, as I felt my feet frozen to the ground.I should've moved, I certainly know that. And yet not an ounce of power surged through me to push myself to escape. It was as if my surroundings suddenly went blurred, everything had been in slow motion that I did nothing but stare at the fallen object. Was it the smoke? Had I inhaled too much of it for my body to coincidentally feel numb? Or was it because of my shifting? That I hadn't used to its transformation that my vision went unfocused.Either way, one of it must've been the reason for the overwhelming throb in my head, so painful that my skull surely had shaken. My throat felt like it was burning that all I could produce was a stifled whine. And damn it! Why was it so loud out here? Where did those ringings come from?Long before I knew it, my body had violently fallen to the ground, though the numbness had protected me from any kind of pain

Nathan BlackShe's in a slumber again. It must be extremely exhausting to shift for the first time, as it took a high focusing level to do that. And with a lot of training. It reminded me of when Ethan had first turned into a wolf, all excited that he was happily jumping around me and mother.Though when he shifted into his human form, he immediately fell to the ground. He couldn't move a single limb, similar to her, that he had started crying. Not stopping until mom had her fingers slipped through his hair, patting him into sleep. My hand softly ran through her hair, lulling her to her contentment. It was all thanks to my mother that I could calm her down from her anxiousness.A sigh left my lips as I took in her features, so peaceful that I wished she hadn't had to go through all those painful stages of her life.As much as relieved sipped through me seeing her peace and well, the fatigue that I never realized piling inside my body finally came out. Slowly moving my hand away from

Emma Grey"Why did you run like that the other night? Do you know how worried I was?!" I could tell from the face she was making, by the way her brows furrowed, lips frowned and her eyes worried. That she was indeed in rage with me, though with a hint of concern she didn't even try to conceal."I know, I know. And I'm sorry." I repeated for the umpteenth times though it seemed Lina still hadn't been satisfied with it. Maybe she could see how unregrettable I was to my actions.Truthfully, it isn't that I didn't feel a bit guilty for how distressed she must have felt whilst I was in the woods. I would be too if I was her. But, if I hadn't done that, things would surely be even more complicated than ever.I couldn't just stay still, seeing her and the others as though tormented by his pheromones when my condition was more than fine.Though, I must admit. I honestly didn't anticipate the part where I clawed Sir Joshue in the face and was brought into the forest by him. Shivers ran throu

Nathan Black"I'll be back in a minute!" Before I could reply to him, Ethan had already moved his feets towards one of the tents nearby, uncaring if I had heard him hollered the words.Albeit, instead of wondering where he was off to, my head whirled on the things we had discussed momentarily. How could Sir Joshue be missing? And adding to the fact that they had only found Xena, awfully injured from the fire, and not a sight of him.I bit my inner cheek, jaw unintendedly clenched, as I mulled over the condition I left him that night.I was beyond certain that I pushed him to the fire long before Xena had arrived. Thus, logically, wouldn't his body supposed to at least be as grievely as Xena was? Too horrible that they couldn't even be sure that she would survive, even till today.I walked further, nearing the forest as I spotted Allan, Thomas and some others already waiting for us. Just then, I picked up the footsteps striding behind me when an arm sled around my shoulder.I didn't

Emma Grey"It was because of Thomas."Thomas? Why does he have anything to do with any of this? I know he was her mate, Eva had told me long ago.Nevertheless, I never did anything to him that could upset her this much. I barely even spared a glance towards him unless he bothered me first."I don't understand. Why is this suddenly about him?" The words flew out heedlessly, voicing out my confusion and disagreement towards her. To think that she had been playing me behind my back, leaking all the secrets I had solely opened up on her to him, and for him to embarrass me in front of all the people in the pack. All that because of him? There's no way I could accept that. While me and Eva were beaten to a pulp, and Emile was on the verge of death, all there was on her mind was Thomas.I scoffed at the memories whirling inside my mind, tainting my brain like a nightmare, wondering if she was ever being genuine among all the times we had spent together. When she cooked me my favorite brea

(Five years later)Emma BlackThe wind blew, lightly gracing my hair across my shoulder. Feeling the chills of the morning air seeping through my thin nightgown, I hug myself tight. It was still early. The sky was navy blue, not yet letting the moon hide itself for the sun to rise.My eyes trained towards the lake, calm from any alive movement. Most of the living must've still been in a deep slumber, lulled by the peaceful dawn.Good thing Nathan had chosen a house with a magnificent view, enchanted my eyes with the beauty of its nature.A fond smile slipped through my lips, reminiscing the early days I had been in the Luna Pack five years ago.The first time I had met his father, it was rather awkward to say. Though, it all went better after Nathan's appointment ceremony, as he showed him the ring. The silver band of his late wife, the one he must've missed to the moon and beyond. Instantly, the second Nathan had told him everything, he pulled me into a full embrace. Threads of grat

Emma Grey"Are you sure this is all you need?" My eyes wandered across the luggage, particularly searching for any missing necessities to fill in. "Let me see. The toiletries are here, my shirts and my pants are here…" I patted the neatly folded clothes, before turning my head towards Eva. "What else do I need?" "Hmm… Maybe some snacks for traveling? I'm not sure either."I bit my inner cheek, contemplating if I should bring along my blanket. Truthfully, I never knew preparing all this stuff was somehow stressful. Formerly, we were strictly forbidden to leave the area if it wasn't permitted by Sir Joshue. Thus, it didn't ever latch into my mind for me to prepare the stuff for leaving. Now that I had to clear out my wardrobe, I don't even know what else I should bring along with me. I did have to live there for a long period of time in the Luna Pack. Luna Pack.I still can't believe it.He invited me. Nathan invited me! I almost squealed the moment he laid out the invitation. To

Emma Grey"Nathan, are you home?" I hollered.A sudden nudge from Lina had me facing her as quick. My knuckles instinctively stilled, hovering the wooden door. My brows were narrowed as I hushed, before huffing a breath, calming the anxiousness pulled in my heart. "You startled me, idiot."She snickered apologetically, "Oh, sorry. I forgot you're on your toes today." She placed her palm on my back, rubbing it in an attempt to calm me down. "Relax, I was just wondering if they're really in there or with Eva."I exhaled a breath, accepting every comfort I could possibly receive in this moment. It had me on edge since this morning. If Lina hadn't mentioned her conversation with Ethan regarding the matter, it would surely be completely far from my mind. Not when she told me they would be leaving anytime now, that their father had deemed for their return.Really, how can it slip out of my mind that Nathan would be leaving anytime sooner. Nathan Black"Father had called, again. We need to head back later this week, Nat." A hum left my throat. My head tilted on the headrest of the velvet sofa lazily, finding the ceiling rather interesting than the whole conversation.Even my eyes had almost fluttered closed sleepily with how cool it was inside the guest house, seeing the sunlight almost burnt the bird's nest to dust just outside the window."Nat, do you hear me?" Ethan's voice once again greeted my ear drum, sounding more urgently. I glanced at him sidedly before darted my attention again on the white ceiling.Huh, weren't there supposed to have four lamps? One, two, three… Ah, there's four. I knew I counted them right–"Nathan!" He hollered incredulously. I heaved a sigh heedlessly. "I know."It wasn't the first time father had sent those from our pack, urging for our return. It had been several days past since the hearing, so most of them, including Nico had already returned to Luna territory.Though, he was quite

Emma Grey"Cause we're more than just a pack."Her eyes flew across the crowds, before it found mine. With her precious smile, she muttered, "We're family."I felt my lips trembled, overwhelmed with emotions meant behind the words she had spoken. To protect one another, regardless of our wolf and gender, be it a Beta, an Omega or even an Alpha. We should've done this long ago, away from the nonsense idea Sir Joshue had instilled in our mind. And like a puppet, we had dumbly followed his false teaching, without even complaining about the damage he'd done to each one of us.That we had seen our own people sacrificed with our own eyes, and yet, not once had anyone ever spoken aloud of it.If we could change it all together, I'm certain there would be a brighter day for the future of the Solis.Just then, her eyes flickered to the whole crowd, hardening her gazes yet again. "Now, to begin the said hearing, I'll now present to you all of the criminal offenses," She glanced on him, disgus

Nathan BlackPredictable. The corner of my lips lifted, amusement laid itself within my eyes. It was as if he was extremely desperate for the hearing to lack success, carrying the exact same act I had fortunate he would do.The commotion was left unblase as Eva's eyes caught mine. Good thing we met this morning."Now." I mouthed towards her, averting my sight towards Joshue. It would be entertaining to see his face crumble to the depth of sea, decayed to the deepest ocean. And seconds pass by before Eva's scent spreads through the air, eloping the people's agitation into thin air. I must admit, watching his sneering turned to a frown was pleasing to the eyes. The confusion and irritation in his eyes confessed every inch of despair he felt. The corner of my lips lifted higher as his eyes darted promptly towards mine, seeing the irritation blasted into a rageful sight. As I said."You…" He growled, baring his teeth towards me.Predictable.–(Joshue Miller's Resident Earlier)"You ca

Emma GreyEva had been excellent in her public speeches ever since we were children. But looking at her now, on a stage for a very special occasion as this really did place her in a new light. One that suited her the best."Eva's really awesome, don't you think?" The words slipped on its own, flowed unconsciously as my eyes trained on her composed figure. "Yup, I agree! Do you know how many packs there were for having a woman as a leader?" Lina muttered, glancing at me expectantly. And as much as I wanted to retort her anticipation, I must admit I actually had no idea how many there were. Truthfully, I had never heard of any woman becoming a leader. Though, I couldn't comment much on it, as I too, hadn't known of the outside world other than my very pack. Thus, a shrug was all I could muster. "Beats me."She sighed, "Yeah, that makes two of us. Kind of makes me want to leave this place and explore the world."I felt my lips twitch into a hollow smile. Someday, Lina. I'm sure of it

Nathan Black"Mrs Eva Grey, the stage is yours."Eva nodded towards Thomas, marching her feet onto the center of the stage, reluctantly giving her speeches. I admit it was one of the most exasperating things to do as a pack leader, thus, I kind of understood her disinclination.Besides that, it seemed I was a bit late to the hearing, though it was only due to Eva asking me for assistance in some matters pertaining to the event today.I guess I was an exception for running a bit behind the schedule. Good thing I had managed to spot Ethan instantly among the crowds."You didn't return home last night." I muttered heedlessly, stepping to Ethan's side, a meter away from the stage. It seemed he had been here for quite some time, seeing him almost bored to his bone.As much as I wanted to arrive with Emma earlier, it was necessary for me to discuss some matters with Eva. Which was why I had to take a detour towards Sir Joshue's house early this morning."And you must've been relieved I d

Her eyes glimpsed unimpressively while creating a distance between us.We were all called to the field for Eva's hearing today. And recognizing her silhouette from afar, I excitedly ran up towards her, albeit, the second I patted her shoulder, she jumped on her feet away from me.What's wrong with her? The second I attempted to march a step closer, she hastily shuffled backwards as though she was uncomfortable with my presence."What're you doing?" I uttered in bewilderment. She eyed me suspiciously, raising her eyebrow expectantly towards me that I almost felt offended by it."You're with him last night, weren't you?" She accused, though not that it was all false. However, the way she muttered it incriminatingly had me almost on my toes.More importantly, how did she even know that? Because, after we had kiss– I mean, pouring our feelings towards each other, Nathan had i
