Crystal saw every shop with Killian following behind. He encouraged her to try everything and feel free to get anything she liked. She hesitated at first, but once she was comfortable, Killian enjoyed seeing her light up in every shop. Killian knew it would take time for her to let her guard down and not be so nervous, but he could wait. A few items had to be sent straight to the house and others, he carried for her.
Crystal had never done this before. She went into every shop and got things of her choice without anyone saying she couldn't. Killian just sat back and watched her with a smile on his face. The Moon Goddess knew what she needed and who knew a hardened military alpha would be the teddy bear she needed. She knew this man would defend her and she took pleasure in enjoying her freedom. She bought more things than she knew what to do with. Most of them were clothes she had always wanted and the foods she had wanted to try.
After shopping, Killian took her back home to let her change. She wore a pair of jeans and his sweatshirt. She didn't feel okay about herself to show it off. She was underweight, but he knew he would fix that. He would get her to eat until she just couldn't anymore. Once she showered and got herself fixed up, she glowed. He knew he was responsible for that and it filled him with pride. He knew it would take time, but he knew he would do anything for her.
Three weeks later, Crystal sat in the garden outside the packhouse. The bruises had started to fade, and she had gained weight. Killian treated her like a queen and the rest of the pack adored her and felt for her. Everyone heard the rumors, but she felt safe enough to let her pack know everything. She was to be their Luna and thought it best to have no secrets, no matter how hard it was. Killian admired her bravery and loved the progress she had made in a few short weeks. They often talked about how she was feeling and talked every night about anything that bothered her. She really adored Killian and how much he was trying to help. She grew nervous at the thought of her family. They still said nothing or shown up. Killian told her not to worry, that it would be him that would deal with them. She would never have to see them again.
The biggest progress that they had made was sleeping under the covers together. Killian used an extra blanket but still slept next to her. A few days ago, she had asked him to get under the covers with her. He felt honored by this, but still gave her the space that she needed. Crystal was slowly improving but it was still slow. She knew Killian and his wolf hated being so close and couldn't touch her. He told her not to rush anything and that they could wait until she was ready. She really appreciated it and knew she would make it special when the time came.
Killian often asked if she would like to let Aurora out to run. He would be with her all the time. When she wasn't running with him, she was in his office. At first, she didn't go anywhere he wasn't. Now she felt secure enough to be away from him for a bit at a time. Today, she was in the shops. She felt eyes on her that made her uneasy. The shop she was one she went to often. The bakery was her weakness. Mrs. Randall, the baker, was more like a maternal figure to her. Whenever she came in, Mrs. Randall treated her like a lost puppy that needed every bit of her love and attention. Today, Crystal felt off and Mrs. Randall noticed.
"What is it, honey?"
"I feel uneasy. Like someone is watching me. I can't place it."
"Stay in the kitchens with me then. I'll call the alpha for you."
"No. He is busy with meetings today."
"Alpha Killian would kill all of us if something happened to you. If you feel uneasy, there is a reason. You have been coming in here for five weeks straight now, honey. Besides your first day here, I've never seen you like this."
"You are probably right."
She smiled and led Crystal to the kitchens. Once she knew she was safe, she called Alpha Killian. Once she knew he was on his way, she told Crystal she was going back to the front. At the counter was a strange-looking man she hadn't seen before and he gave off violent vibes. She approached the counter and spoke to him in a friendly matter, but loud enough Crystal could hear.
"Can I help you, sir? Anything to take with you on your travels?"
"How did you know I was traveling?"
"I know everyone around here and I've never seen you before."
"Ah. Bakers usually do."
"So, anything I get you?"
"Actually, I'm looking for someone."
"As I said, I know everyone here."
"Her name is Crystal Johnston. She ran away from home and is believed to be hiding here."
He pulled out her picture and laid it on the counter for Mrs. Randall to see.
"She's pretty. I'd remember her if I saw her."
"You've never seen her before?"
"No. She has never come to my shop at least. I'll keep an eye out, though."
"Thank you."
"If I see her, who should I say is looking for her?"
"Caleb. Future Beta of Silver Thunder Pack."
"I will let her know, Beta."
He nodded and walked out of the shop. When he did, he ran straight into Killian. Killian had him locked up to be dealt with later. Meanwhile, he went and checked on Crystal. Mrs. Randall had her locked in the kitchen and was feeding her fresh baked cookies. Killian thanked Mrs. Randall and took Crystal home.
Crystal knew it was only a matter of time. She couldn't believe it was Caleb that came for her. He was worse than Andrew and he came here to challenge Killian. She knew Killian would keep her safe, but for now, she sat in his office. She knew Killian was showing Caleb the true meaning of Blood Moon and she only wished she could see Caleb suffer.
She only hoped that Killian would let her watch at least once so she could feel better after seeing him reduced to nothing as he did to her.
Killian sat in front of the cell that now held Caleb. He was bound in chains and currently hanging limp. He stared at this man and Drake saw red and wanted his blood. He didn't care who he was and what he was doing here. He was from them and he hurt her. He had the nerve to come to look for her here. Jake came up next to him a while later and told him Crystal was in his office and needed to speak to him. With a hard sigh, Killian stood up and walked to his office. He knew what Crystal wanted and knew he couldn't say no to her. She needed to watch him fall.Killian walked into his office and she was in his chair. He walked over and sat on the edge of the desk. He looked at her and just nodded. She stood up and followed him out and down to the basement. She felt a thrill seeing Caleb strung up. She wanted Killian to know how she felt and asked him to be standing back where Caleb couldn't see him when he woke. She wanted him to just see her and let him dig his own grave. Killian
Andrew paced his dad's office. Caleb hasn't been seen or heard from since he left to find Crystal two months ago. He had to be dead. There was no other way to explain it. He was getting more and more furious and his wolf, Atticus, was growing tenser and tenser."I bet she watched.""Andrew.""He was the worst. The things he did to her were the worst out of all of us. If stories are true, Killian beat him to death.""That could be an act of war.""So, what are we going to do?""I'll contact Killian.""Why, so he can invite you and then kill you.""Andrew, get out, now."Andrew stormed out of his dad's office and went for a run. He was fuming. How dare that little bitch watch his beta die. She would pay for it.Crystal sat in bed with Killian. She was wearing nothing but a shirt this morning as Killian brought her breakfast in bed. He was picking a suit to wear to meet with the alph
Crystal woke up the next morning not remembering the last time she slept so good. As she moved, she noticed Killian was still asleep next to her. Without waking him, she slid out of bed and into the closet. She stared at herself in a floor-length mirror and fingered her mate mark. She loved seeing it there on her neck and knew nothing could ever hurt her again. She smiled to herself and dressed for the day. Once that was done, she checked on Killian and noticed the heavy rise and fall of his chest, and decided to let him sleep. She walked out and went downstairs and headed for the kitchen. No one knew that they had marked each other, so when she came down, everyone noticed. Jake ran into her on her way out the door to head to the bakery."Well, what have we here?""Good morning, Jake.""He marked you.""And he has one similar to match.""Congrats. It's about time, but I know why the hesitation. We all do.""Truthfully it happened because I w
Crystal couldn't even go outside without feeling like she was being watched. She knew Andrew couldn't cross into her pack lands but his threat was fresh on her mind. She sat in the library huddled in the corner, too afraid to leave the maze of shelves. She sat up against the wall and felt the panic creeping up on her. She closed her eyes and began whispering that it wasn't real and she was safe. Andrew couldn't touch her anymore. Her breathing became heavier and she began to rock as the memories swarmed in and threatened to snuff her out. When she thought she couldn't handle it anymore, she smelt the rain and cedar scent. She began to relax as the scent got stronger and she knew he was getting closer to her. When she had the strength to open her eyes, he was knelt down in front of her. He had a concerned look on his face and reached out his hand."You can't keep doing this, baby.""I can't help it. I feel safe here when you are gone.""Which is why all my busine
Crystal sat in the garden with Kellie eating lunch the afternoon before the ceremony. Kellie had settled in nicely and loved having the freedom that Blood Moon did."It's so beautiful here, Crystal. And so peaceful. I'm glad you found your happiness, Crystal.""This can be your happiness, too.""I rejected my mate.""That doesn't mean you can't be happy. You know you wouldn't have been with him.""I know, but I'll never have a mate.""That doesn't mean you can't find love.""That's true.""Plus, who's to say you don't have a second chance mate.""Always hopeful, Crystal.""I have to be."Just then, Brandy walked over to them."Pardon the intrusion, Luna.""Speak freely, Brandy. You know better.""I'm sorry, Crystal. The Sea Cave Pack is here.""Killian?""Still dealing with the Drak Woods Pack.""Very well. Will you two accompany me?""Of course.""Jak
Crystal sat in the pack doctor's office. She was having her ultrasound today. Killian was running late again and she kept trying to text him and call him. Ever since the ceremony, he had been different. After all the packs went home and she said farewell to Kellie, things had been different. The doctor appeared in the hall."Luna, we are ready for you.""Thanks, Dr. Browning.""No Alpha, again?""Nope. Let's just get started.""We can wait. It's no problem.""No. I've tried calling him and he knew the time.""Alright."The doctor gave a look like she knew something. Crystal and Killian had been together for six months. She was happy with him but she just wondered why he was acting weird. She was finishing up and he still wasn't here. She left and headed back to the packhouse when she saw him. He was pacing back and forth and there was a woman standing there with a little boy. The boy didn't look much older than two years old. T
Crystal sat in her office and couldn't stop thinking about everything that happened two weeks ago. After Andrew disappeared, guards were posted to keep watch. Killian had brought her to their room and began apologizing. She stopped him and told him everything Danielle had said and did. Killian began to cry knowing now he didn't betray her in any way. She told him what Andrew said about the baby. If she had a boy, he would be back to try and claim him. Killian instantly went into a protective mode and swore he would never let that happen. What Andrew said was weighing heavily on her mind. So much so, she didn't hear Killian come in. He walked over and touched her shoulder, making her jump."I'm sorry. I knocked and called out to you.""No, I'm sorry.""You're thinking about it again?""I can't help it.""Babe, I told you not to. It's not healthy for you or the baby.""I know. I don't know how to shake it.""I'll shake him to death if t
At 2:48:45 in the afternoon at 7 pounds 16 ounces and 21 inches, Destiny was perfect. Killian held the tiny green-eyed child and smiled at the barley visible red hair on her head. Crystal was resting after being in labor for six hours so he had this time alone with her. He held her in his arms and was so scared of hurting her. She was so small and frail and she curled up against his chest as he held her. He knew he would do any and everything to keep her safe. This tiny child was now his world. She had his coloring but she looked like her mother. Both of his ladies were fast asleep and he knew life was perfect. His whole world was in one room and his heart filled with pride and joy. He was momentarily distracted from his thoughts as his daughter stirred in his arms. He smiled down at her as she opened her eyes and stared wide-eyed up at him.Crystal woke up and from where she laid, she could see Killian and their daughter. He was staring down at her with such love in hi
Patty and Kane got closer over the years and he even told her that she was his mate. He could feel that much. Patty was excited and nervous and she knew that this is what her mother talked about. Ever since meeting Kane at the Gathering of Packs, Kane had moved the rouges closer to the castle. The rouges were getting annoyed at all the time he spent with her and unlike other packs, rouges could over throw their alpha and proclaim a new one.Kane was with Patty one afternoon when Amelia came out to them."Kane, will stay for supper?""Of course. As long as his majesty is alright with it.""Why wouldn't he be?""Becuase I am a rouge dating his daughter.""My great-grandmother was a rouge.""What?""Queen Luna Missy was a rouge when she met my great-grandfather Alex.""I didn't know that.""It's said that she was raised by the woman who wanted King Killain dead.""And they still took her in?""Ale
Amelia Barker sat in her office in the castle. As Luna Queen, things were never dull or slow. She fingered the book on her desk of her mate's great-grandmother's life. Nathan said all his life, they were told about Crystal and Killian. This book recorded her life and the first Gathering of Packs and why the packs joined together. She loved this book because it showed that even though they were the truest of mates, they had so many problems in their relationship. Amelia and Nathan met when they were ten at a gathering and they became best friends. When she turned sixteen. they knew. At twenty-three, Nathan was made alpha of Blood Moon and she was luna. They were good as alpha and luna. Apparently, the packs thought they were so good, when they turned thirty, they were voted in as king and queen. Amelia wondered how she would ever live up to Crystal but her book helped. Missy Barker, queen after Crystal, had a book that helped as a guide. Serena Barker, queen after Missy, also had a b
There was a book reading at the castle during the gathering of packs and everyone had gathered on the lawn. Sage had situated herself in the front with the book and she put her mic on to begin. She waited for it to fall silent and she cleared her throat. 'I remember sitting in my room and getting the new book on our pack's history, written by the first luna and the lunas that followed. Mother was told she couldn't have any more children, so my parents looked to me to take over the pack. The training was hard, but I did it with ease as time went on. Then, a miracle happened. My mother was pregnant again and this time they said it was a boy. I had gone through all the training and now it wasn't my responsibility. Mother told me that I still may be a luna one day, so it wasn't a waste. I helped with little Andrew since the birth was hard on my mother. He and I were the best of friends. Father even
Alex went to his parents graves often for guidance. He and Missy started fighting like they did and he begged to know how they did it. The world seemed so crazy without them in it. Other species started to come and they made peace with most of them, like Killian and Crystal wanted. Thea was an ambassador for the species being a dragin and she felt more like a part of the pack then ever. Things were slowing down and peace was universal now more than ever and it was all because of Killian and Crystal. Alex knew that the three years his parents separated was hard. Missy had said a number of times that the Luna Queen was miserable and on a number of times mumbled about killing herself. Missy had told Alex and Killian on a number of times while she was there that Alpha Thomas was there. Since her separation, even being Luna Queen, he was trying to convenience her to come live with them. Killian started drinking the day Missy had told them it was Alpha Thomas who saved
Once back home, Crystal and Killian sat down. There was a lot everyone didn't know. The reason she planned the three-week event was because she and Killian were fighting. For once in their life, they had disagreed on something major. They both wanted different things. Crystal wanted to stay at the castle away from most people she knew. She thought they were happier and closer here. He wanted to move them back to Blood Moon and be around everyone again. She feared if they were back around everyone, she would lose him. Even though she knows what he was doing, she didn't want to talk to him. But she had a better chance of turning Thea into a wolf than getting him to talk to her. Being back around everyone, he didn't have time for her, and even with how long they were together, she still felt like an outsider. She felt like she belonged in the background in his life. There was no talking about it. He wanted to go, but she wanted to stay. She thought going back was a mistake
Blake sat at the table with Thea in their apartment in the packhouse. He had noticed lately that Thea wasn't herself. The move had happened almost a year ago, but still, she seemed off to him. She was happier to have her mountain, but something was still upsetting her. He knew it had something to do with the mountain and he had a plan to fix some things for her. He just hoped she didn't come back early. Her voice broke his thoughts and he looked up at her."What's on your mind?""Just thinking of how terribly bored I'll be when you leave.""I'm not leaving for a few hours. Missy is coming to get me and we are going through the portal to go see your mom.""All the lunas and beta females will be there?""Yes. It's a clinic for all of us.""How long will you be gone, again?""Three weeks."Blake laid his head down on the table and groaned. Thea laughed and moved to his side and put an arm around him. He kissed her and groaned agai
The entire room fell silent and everyone stood in shock. Thea looked as pale as a ghost as she realized a change that had never happened before was about to happen because of her. Blake held her hand and waited for anyone to say anything. Midnight Ash's Luna, Brittany, spoke first."This is insane.""Well, it wouldn't have come to this had you been more acceptable to the plan before.""We won't stand for this. It has never been done and it won't be done.""Alpha Peter?""A move like this has never been done. But in the spirit of new changes, if Alex is okay with it and both the packs agree, I don't see why a move cant happen."Brittany looked at her mate in shock. He was going against her. Peter looked at her and reminded her that he may be alpha but as king and queen, they had the power to assign a new alpha and luna to Midnight Ash. She stormed out of the room and Peter walked up to Alex."What do you think?""Thea is my sist
Killian was sitting in his new office filling out some paperwork for the Midnight AsH Pack. Some of the wolves didn't like that Thea was still returning to the mountain and the alpha was having trouble controlling it all. So, paperwork was being made up to shorten the border for Midnight Ash and giving it to Thea so there would be no problems. Killina had a stack of papers on his desk, the floor, cabinets, and other places and he didn't know how to sort it all. Jake came in and saw how stressed he was and sat down."Want to go for a run?""What?""It might help.""Sure. I need to."They both got up and walked to the back and took off into the forest. Killian had been swamped with things to do that he didn't have the chance to see Crystal yet and he missed her. He needed a day off instead of a few hours.Crystal walked in to see if Killian was alright. After not really seeing him for a few days, she got worried. When she walked in and saw the
Killian sat and watched Crystal pace the floor as so many thought ran through her head. Queen again? What were they thinking? Could they do it? They were so happy now that she didn't want that ruined. As so many thoughts raced through her head, she distracted by Killian."Penny for your thoughts, beautiful?""What?""You look like you are in much distress. Anything I can do to help?""Killian?""Yes?""That's what you sai to me our first day together.""Didnt it help?""Yes.""So, let it help now. Tell me what's racing through your head.""What if we do this, and things end up bad again.""Let's stay here.""What?""Let's agree and stay here an then have a representivie or two from each pack live here with us. It's coming around for the festival of packs anyway. Make the announcement then.""Are you sure we can do it?""Of course. I know Danica and Patrick wont mind.""Alr
