Alana's POV

I stared him down as I said the words, annoyance having taken the better part of my mood.

Why the hell was he behaving like such a child! It was unsettling, irritating and just a bit scary…

A tick went off in his clenched jaw.

"I don't want to leave. I won't leave." He stated simply, his breathing still ragged.

I was so confused!

Was there something going on with everyone in the palace? Why was Alaric acting so odd?

I stood to my feet and rounded the edge of the bed.

"Alaric I don't understand what has come over you, what do you mean by you aren't going to leave? We're obviously not achieving anything here together, what are you going to be doing?"

"When I came in here you and Jay weren't doing anything either so I don't see why my case should be any different."

"You don't –" I couldn't help but chuckle dryly at the words. "You _really_ don't see why your case should be any different?" I laughed.
