Alpha Toot's POVI took a sip off my wine as I rested my gaze on the flowers that were before the safari. It was a beautiful set of flowers that was planted because my late wife wanted it. She said they were beautiful, and until today I have not seen what she saw in them that made her want to keep it. However, even after her death I have refused to take it off the ground, and out of this garden because there was no use of doing that.I was used to it being here, and if it were removed, adopted I would like the new look so I let it remain the way it was. I brought my cup to my lips in order to take another sip when I heard Grey's voice. “You sent for me," he said, and I turned my head to look at him.My eyes moved from his head to his toes. He was putting on a simple t-shirt that I had seen him put on for the past five to six years. He had on jean shorts with lowly slippers serving as a barrier between his feet, and the ground he stood on. I could not imagine that I was looking at some
Alpha Toot's POVI quickly grabbed my envelope from the table, standing up the next minute, and heading into the mansion. With quick strides, I headed for my private chamber. The moment I got in, I placed my glass down on the table, and quickly opened the envelope. I needed to know what it was. This was my chance. Since we sent the proposals, I have not gotten a reply from him. He had constantly ignored it, and now that he has sent a response for the first time it could only mean one thing but I had to confirm it.I read through the letter, and indeed it was what I had expected, and wanted all this while. I turned to Finn and stroked a nod which he quickly understood. The alliance plan has been set. Other packs carried out their alliance between packs, and nothing else. But I was Alpha Toot of the Midnight Pack. I did not play the game according to every other person. If not, I would not win. I played the alliance between pack and rogue. It was the fastest, and the best way to win aga
Lavender's POVI have been restless from the moment I woke up. First, it was the issue of not being marked by Caramel. Second, it was Grey. I tried the thinking of what could possibly be the issue with him but that led me to a dead end. I noticed that he wasn't respected like he should be. He was Alpha Toot's son and the heir to the throne. He would take over from Alpha Toot the moment he died but Grey looked, and behaved completely different from the way I thought he would be. He did not act like a pauper but he was treated like one.He did not sit at the dining table while we ate; the servants did not bow to him or respect him secretly nor openly. It felt like he was just someone they knew in the mansion and nothing else. He dressed differently from Alpha Toot. As the heir, he was meant to dress like royalty which he was but he always dressed up casually. Not just casually but a little too casual. His clothes look like they were bought from the local market when he could get them fr
Lavender's POVFrom the moment I came to this mansion, Alpha Toot had always threatened me with Alpha Caramel. Up until today, it had worked. I respected myself just for the sake of my husband. However, I had thought about it. Alpha Caramel was stronger. If placed in the battlefield, yes it will take some time for Alpha Caramel to defeat him but it was not impossible. Alpha Toot knew he could not just attack him out of the blue. The only way Alpha Toot was going to win was if he used me as a way to weaken him. I did not want that to happen, and that's why I needed to stand my ground. Due to the heat of the moment, I said my thoughts without thinking it over. I was not meant to reveal everything that was in my mind to Alpha Toot or he would use it against me.I stated the words thinking it was going to have little effect on him that would favor me but instead it did not. He made mention of my mother. The moment he did that, I knew I was not going to like what he had installed for us. I
Lavender's POVThose words snapped me out of my head. My eyes widened, and almost immediately as though they were waiting all this while to carry out the task, two guards walked into the chamber, and grabbed me by the arm, pulling me out of the room. Finn was in front of us. Alpha Toot was behind us. I tried to pull away, but the guards were strong. I glanced at Finn then at Alpha Toot who was behind, giving me a stern expression.Where were they taking me? I asked myself but it did not take me long to know where it was. They took me to the room my mother was staying in. Quickly, it was opened by Finn, and we all walked in. Mum looked visibly surprised to see me there being pulled in like that. Her gaze shifted from surprise to fear once Alpha Toot walked into the room too.“What... What is happening? Please let her go,” she said, and tried to approach me but two guards blocked her path.“Your daughter is struggling to make a choice so I want to help her,” Alpha Toot said. “Whip her,”
Lavender's POVI screamed for help. Despite my screams, I only got a response after I had rushed out of the room pulling a maid to follow me, and help my mother out. She was reluctant to even touch her. I pleaded, but the maid left the room. My only guess was that she went to inform Alpha Toot about the situation, and only when he gave her the go ahead would she help my mother. I kept trying to wake her up. I rushed to the kitchen to get some water so I could sprinkle on her.None of the maids allowed me to do so. They kept blocking my path. I tried to explain the situation to them but it fell on deaf ears. After trying for a good twenty minutes, I rushed back to the room, and I saw a maid tending to my mother. I felt relieved but still restless as she was unconscious. I tried to ask the maid to explain what was happening, but the maid did not give me any response. I was losing it but no one cared about me.After spending ten minutes in the room, a guard came in, and pulled me out of
Alpha Toot's POV Everything was falling into place. I asked the alpha rogue how he wanted the meeting ceremony to be so I would make sure it is according to what he wanted. I stood at the balcony, watching as the decorators were busy doing everything that I had instructed them to do just according to what the Alpha rogue wanted. All I wanted to do now was to please him. He was a major asset in my plans to defeat Alpha Caramel. I needed to be very cautious in everything I did around the Alpha rogue so he would not back out of the plan. We both had things that could bring us down in various ways, and as such we were trying as much as possible to comply with the terms of our agreement. In only a matter of days, I would be on top of everything. Alpha Caramel will not be able to win against me for sure. Merging my people, and the rogues was going to make everything difficult for him. Naturally I would never have been in this place watching everything happen but I needed to make sure not
Lavender's POVDays have gone by, and I was still confused as to what I am meant to do. The words Grey said to me lingered on my mind. Before going to bed, I thought about it, and the moment I woke up, I also thought about it. I wanted him to explain what he meant by that but ever since that day I have not set my eyes on him. It was his usual way but now that I needed him; it was really a problem to me. If not that I had seen him touch someone, and he was also introduced to me by Alpha Toot I would think he was a ghost or did not exist as maybe he was a figment of my imagination. I was not too sure what I was meant to do. The right wing was not a place I have walked into. Anywhere I wanted to go was all in the left wing. I wanted to ask for advice from my mother but I was still not permitted to see her. I was scared that Alpha Toot might have killed her already, and was just trying to bait me but I have seen maids go into the room. I wanted to believe that they were tending to her w
Lavender's POV Grey scared me for a moment there. He only wanted to inform me that his coronation ceremony was going to be happening in 3 days. Since he was the sole heir of Alpha Toot, he was obliged to take over, as a pack required an alpha at all times. Without a leader, the pack would become vulnerable to other Alphas seeking to assert their power. According to him, it was the fastest way to get me to listen to what he was saying. I had to help him go shopping for the things he would meet during and after the coronation. There were a few things he already had an idea of, but others Alpha Caramel helped him with it. Alpha Caramel was a great help and in no time, I was watching the councils of Midnight Pack crown my brother as the new Alpha of Midnight Pack. “This is the new Alpha of the Midnight pack,” the council announced, and a guard rushed in and whispered something into Grey's ears. His mood dropped, but then it became that of nonchalance before he nodded at the guard, w
Lavender's POVThis was exactly the way I wanted it to be. Surrounded by people I love while I walk towards the love of my life. Everyone had smiling faces, and they were all in support of the gathering, and the Union about to happen. I was dressed in a dress that I wanted to put on, and not because I was forced to put it on. My makeup and the style of my hair were duly discussed with me, and I loved every bit of it. My mother, my father, Delilah, Grey, and the people, were all in support of my union with Alpha Caramel. They all had smiles on their faces. Mum looked like she was about to cry. My family was with me, and I was filled with so much joy, and satisfaction to be here walking down the aisle to meet him. The one person that has shown me what love is about. Alpha Caramel has showered me with so much love that I could barely explain it to anyone. I did not mind falling in love with him over, and over again throughout my lifetime. He stood at the altar, putting on a sky-blue tux
Alpha Caramel's POV I was surprised to hear this. I knew the answers I was giving Lavender concerning if the people had accepted her, and would accept her as the Luna of the pack. The issue was I did not care if they accepted her or not at this point because their reasons for rejecting her were not valid according to what I think. They loved her before they realized that Alpha Toot had made some stupid pronouncement that made it seem like she was not eligible to be the Luna of the pack. Since the last time I spoke with the council, I never again had any meeting with them. They were important aspects of the pack but due to their nonchalance, and demeaning words, I could not trust them to help me get Lavender back as I felt they would try to frustrate every effort I put into the plans to get her. I was sure they were more than aware of this. I was not planning on trying to convince them or giving them reasons why Lavender was the best candidate for the position. Just the fact that I
Lavender's POVI walked into the ward staring at Alpha Caramel who had his eyes closed. It has been two days since the war. He woke up a day after and was left to stay in the hospital so he could be monitored. The wolf's bane has not been completely expelled from his system and would take some time before that happens. I was glad that at least he was better. I took out the flask which I brought with me to the hospital so he would eat. “Caramel,” I called him softly. He opened his eyes and turned to me with a smile. “My love,” he said which made my cheeks turn red. He took my hand and then placed a kiss on the back of my palm. “You look beautiful today,” he complimented. Ever since you woke up, he had been complimenting me. He always complimented me but this was a little too much because, at every slight opportunity, he does it.“You look handsome as usual.” Now I helped him sit up. “You need to eat. Mum said you need to eat so that you'll be able to take your drugs.” I told him.
Lavender's POV“Caramel!” I yelled at the top of my lungs as the arrow entered his body. The effect of the wolf's bane acted immediately. He groaned, and transformed back to his human form, holding the side of his stomach where the arrow was. He tried standing up, but he fell back almost immediately. The Alpha rogue was walking towards him with a sly smile. I could already tell that you wanted to kill Caramel. I ran as fast as I could but I was too far from where he was. The person that was close to him was the Alpha rogue. He was walking in measured steps but I knew he would get to him before I could. This realization made me cry. They wanted to kill him. They wanted to kill my husband. I didn't want that to happen. I could not allow that to happen. I want to save him. I need to save him. “Please moon goddess, don't let them take him from me. Please.” I said as I shut my eyes, trying to wipe off the tears. The Alpha rogue got close to Alpha Caramel. “No,” I yelled, and the next sec
Lavender's POVThe Alpha Rogue held my wrist very tight as he pulled me out of the hall. I had no idea where he was taking me, and I did not want to go anywhere he was taking me to. I wanted to go to Alpha Caramel. It had been so long, and finally he was here. I had waited for him for a very long time, and he was here now. I wanted to go to him because I knew that he was here for me. He waged this war because he wanted to get me back. I was scared, and I needed to be with Caramel but the alpha rogue did not listen to me, and kept pulling me. No matter how many times I told him that it was hurting me he refused to listen to me. He kept on with what he was doing, and soon we were out of the hall. A part of me wanted to scream but then the thought that I might alert Alpha Toot came to mind, and I decided to keep quiet. I kept asking where he was taking me to but he refused to give me any reply. Not long, and we were on the battlefield. I kept looking around trying to find Caramel so h
Alpha Caramel's POV My heart instantly fell to the ground at this. Lavender's eyes were wide open as she watched the arrow come for her chest. I quickly ran forward to be able to stop it even though at the back of my mind I knew I would not be able to get to her in time before the arrow went into her body. Just before the arrow could get into her body, someone rushed forward and slapped it to the ground in time. I heaved a sigh of relief at this. I had no idea who this person was, and I had never seen him in my pack so I did not believe he was part of us. I was more than grateful to him either way for saving my wife from the arrow which I had thrown. “Grey,” I heard Lavender mutter which made me know the person's name. It seemed that they knew each other. Staring at the boy a bit longer, I realized that he had some resemblance with Alpha Toot. I always knew that Alpha Toot had a child, but I had never met him before. I was not too sure about his motive since he was his father's chil
Alpha Caramel's POV The day for the attack finally came, and everyone was more than prepared for it. We were not too sure what to expect, but we kept our minds open to anything that might happen. The spies that were sent had not reported back to us, and it was a little worrying. We were going in blind because we had a proper picture of what we were entering into. I spoke to everyone, giving them the strength to go with me and win this war. We were going to save my wife and crown her the Luna of the pack because that was what she deserved. My mother was very worried for me. She did not state it outrightly but from her body expression, and how much she kept telling me to take care of myself, and ensure that I am fully protected, told me all I needed to know. I assured her that I was going to come back. She nodded at my words but was not fully convinced. She knew that when it came to war no one could tell if they would win or not. However, she was once a seer of the pack. Once I was a
Lavender's POV It was finally the day for my supposed mating ceremony. I was meant to have escaped the previous day but here I was seated before the dressing table I had gotten used to, being dolled up as usual. I was dressed up in a much heavier dress, and heavy makeup with jewelry that I hated. The Restrictor was not placed on my arm but I knew I could not run away. My mother was back in her room with a gun to her head. If I tried anything fishy, then she was going to be shot instantly. I did not want that for her, and I was going to behave so long as they were not going to kill her. I really wished that we would have successfully escaped from here but the universe was not on my side. Everything I did to escape from this place seems to have been void in One Way or another. I knew this was not my fate, and I did not want to accept it. However, what could I do? I could no longer fight it. I can't run away. My mother's life was on the line, and if I did anything stupid, I could get h
