---Divina---
“It’s been three fucking days! There has to be something you can do.” I hear Greg hiss quietly to someone. The worry that laces his words makes my stomach clench. I start to stir and open my eyes only to slam them back closed. My voice is hoarse when I mumble, “The lights are too bright. Hurts my eyes.” I hear a sharp intake of breath before the lights go dim and I feel warm hands cup my face before the bed dips down. I reach up and place my hand on Greg’s wrist and peak one eye open slowly to test whether or not the lights were going to sear my eyes again. “What happened?” I croak out.&nbs
Thank you for reading! Please leave a comment. I love to hear from you. Gems help move a story up in the ranking so I would be so grateful if you blessed me with one or three. :) I hope your day is a beautiful one! Vivi xoxo
---Divina--- “We have a problem,” Alpha Jack says. “What kind of a problem?” Greg asks and sits up straighter. He is on full alert now. His blue eyes flicking between myself and Alpha Jack. “My scouts have observed a large number of rogues gathering at our norther border and their behavior has been odd. They seem ganglier, more grotesque.” “Shit!” I murmur under my breath. This sounds like what Vanessa’s wolf looked like when she was possessed with a mid-level demon. The lower-level demons didn’t damage their hosts quite so much, but even werewolves can’t handle a demon possession for forever. “What is it?” he asks me. “How much do you know about me?” He shakes his head and says, “Not much. Other than you are a bad ass when it comes to fighting, can exorci
Jennifer and I are finishing up the arrangements the following morning when Alpha Jack walks in the commons area and heads straight for her, wrapping his arms around her from behind. She melts back into him as he kisses her on her shoulder. I role my eyes but smile and divert my attention back to the list of meals we are putting together to accommodate the larger number of mouths to feed. “Last night Jennifer did not have any nightmares. Thank you.” Alpha Jack says. I look up and smile wide. “That’s great! You’re welcome.” “It was the best sleep I have gotten in a long time,” she smiles brightly and then turns beat red when Alpha Jack says, “Well, when you did sleep. We didn’t sleep much last night.” I giggle and shake my head. “You’re a mess.”
When I turn back around, I see green eyes peaking up at me from between her crazy curls. I give her a soft, closed mouth smile and reach my hand out to her. She leans further into the corner and shakes her head at me. Her eyes going wide, and a small whimper escapes her. “It’s okay, little Ember. We are here to help you.” When she still won’t relax, I let a calm and peaceful feeling expand from my chest and settle over her. It takes a few minutes, but she finally starts to relax and her eyes peer up, curiously at me, before she crawls into my lap and rests her head on my shoulder. I wrap my arms around her and gently rock back and forth. I close my eyes and hum softly to her while I gently move through her memories and what I see makes my heart drop. Her
When he doesn’t continue his sentence, I look back at him and he is frozen in place staring at something. I look to where his eyes are pointing and see Alpha Jack walking toward us with Jennifer and a beautiful woman with jet black hair and green eyes. This must be Aria, I think to myself. “Mate.” I hear Greg whisper and I whip my head back to him. His eyes are on Aria and the joy I feel for him finding his mate makes me tear up. I can tell the moment Aria realizes her mate is standing in front of her because she freezes, and Alpha Jack looks back at her in confusion. I grab Greg’s hand and start to pull him towards her, but he stops me, mind linking me. Greg: ‘Divina, I can’t. I can’t do this to you.’
Greg isn’t in the cottage when I get there and start packing my things. I breathe a sigh of relief when I am done, and he still hasn’t shown up. At least now he can’t try to stop me when I leave. I make my way to the Orphanage and stop by Melissa’s room. “Do we have any more empty rooms that I can stay in?” I ask. She looks up from the book she is reading and sets it beside her after dog earing the page she was on and scooting to the edge of her bed to stand up. “We do, but why are you asking?” “I’m moving in.” I say and don’t offer anything more. “Ooookay. Sure. Follow me,” she says and raises her eyebrows at me in surprise. “I would have thought you would want to stay in your little cottage with your boy toy.”
I start to regain consciousness; the effects of the drug Aria gave me wearing off and I can hear her arguing with someone. “You promised to return my daughter if I brought you the angel. I want my daughter back now!” she yells, and I can hear the panic in her voice. “You will get your daughter back, IF the angel cooperates and IF you keep your mouth shut. You raise any alarms, and we’ll kill her without another thought.” The gravelly voice that answers her is menacing and I have no doubt he will make good on his threat. Aria sobs and screams out in frustration, and I imagine her pulling at her hair and gripping her stomach trying to hold herself together. My heart goes out to her despite the predicament she has put me in. After sifting through Jennifer’s horrific memories, I am certain that a mother would do anything to protect her child. I pretend to still be knocked out, making sure my body stays relaxed and my breathing even. The demon that is holding m
He sneers at meat me in disgust and says, “Surprised to see me, Angel?” “Yes, actually, I am. I didn’t take you for a coward, turning against your own people.” I stand to my feet and raise my chin defiantly at him. “I’ve always hated your father. He’s just as stupid as you are, putting blind faith in the people around him.” He clenches his fists to his side and walks menacingly towards me. “I know he told you where the locations of the settlements are, and you are going to tell us.” He grips the back of my hair and yanks my head back so that I have
It’s been three weeks since I was brought here, and the beatings are getting worse. I’ve reached out to Warrick several more times. I sigh and look over at Milly. They barely feed us, and she is looking a little worse for wear. I’ve started giving her my rations and sustaining myself by pulling energy from the earth. Surprisingly, Mathias can block me from communicating with everyone else, but not the earth. I guess his barrier doesn’t go underground. I feel her watching me as if she is waiting for something. What that is, I don’t know. She willingly lets me pull from her energy and I almost feel as if she is disgruntled that I don’t ask for more. That makes me curious. Could I use her energy for more than just healing, like manipulating the elements? Would that make her angry? When I get out of here, I’m going to try to grow flowers straight from the ground like on FernGully. I sigh. I must be starting to go crazy.
--Warrick-- “I have a surprise for you,” I tell Divina and she looks up at me, her brow creasing slightly in confusion. “What, surprise?” she asks and looks around the front yard. Her eyes land on Greg standing on the porch by Aria and a huge grin spreads across his face and he waggles his eyebrows. Divina snorts at his antics and looks back at me. “Why is he acting like a goofball?” she asks, warily. Her eyes are wide, and she looks more innocent and beautiful than I have ever seen her. No makeup, the freckles that lightly dust her cheeks and nose on display for me to see, and her hair is starting to come loose from her hastily thrown back hair. I take her natural beauty in and am more determined to show her we could work. Ember and Milly come running around the corner of the house, shrieking in delight as one of the older pups chase them across the lawn. Divina’s face lights up as she watches Ember, and I can see the mother she will someday be, and I am more than ready to start
Greg watches as Warrick ushers Aria and Liam inside and I can hear the distant laughter of Ember and Milly as they run across the back yard, playing tag. When the door closes, he focuses his attention on me and studies my face for a long moment before taking my hand and tugging me along. I don’t ask him where we are going, content to just walk silently beside him enjoying the warmth of him. We walk and walk for a good ten minutes before Greg stops suddenly and turns to me. “Tell me what’s bothering you, Angel,” he says and watches me intently. I groan and drop my head into my hands. “Where do I even start!” I wail and then everything tumbles out of me. “I’ve been asleep for three freaking years, Greg! I lost three years of your life, the rest of my family’s life, Bren, Brandon, Gloria, Damien, Ember.” My voice cracks at the end when I say Ember’s name. “Hey, it’s okay. Shhh,” Greg says, and pulls me into his arms and presses my head to his chest. I don’t fight him. I need the comfort o
---Warrick--- It has been a week since Divina woke up, but we have barely gotten any time alone. As soon as the word got out that she was awake just about everyone she knows, and loves converged on us. Ember has barely left her side and is afraid that Divina will go back to sleep and not wake up again no matter how many times we assure her that won’t happen. I moved us back into the pack house and we are currently sitting on the porch swing with Divina tucked up under my arm and her head resting on my shoulder. My fingers lightly grazing up and down her arm as I relish in her closeness. She lets out a content sigh and snuggles in closer. Little Ember is nestled in my lap with her feet draped onto Divina. She is always touching her now. Always. (After it was clear that Divina wasn’t going to wake up anytime soon, I drug myself away from her and made the long trip to the Timberwolf Pack and brought Ember home with me. I knew Divina would not want her left there and I have grown to lo
---Divina--- Oh, God, my head throbs and I am too hot. Way too hot. Why does it feel like I am pressed against a furnace? I try to move, but a weight is pressing down on my chest and my arms are not wanting to cooperate. What the hell is tickling my nose? I blink my eyes open only to slam them shut as white-hot light pours into my eyes from the window. I groan and turn my head to the side trying to get away from whatever is tickling me and that damned bright light. I feel something shift and move on my chest. It feels like little hands and feet scrambling to a sitting position. “Are you awake?” a little whisper sounds close to my ear causing me to flinch. When I try to speak my voice is hoarse and my throat is dry. “Yes?” I say and it comes out as a question. I blink my eyes and stare into beautiful green eyes, with an angelic freckled face that is framed by flaming red curls. “Ember? What are you doing here and when did you get so big?” I ask. Ember’s eyes grow soft, and she gives
It is complete chaos as the crowd tries to get out of my way. I could care less about any of them. My only thought is to get that angel bitch and then make Warrick pay when I am done with her. I wonder if I should kill him too, or just make him watch as I snuff out her life and then force him to be my slave mate. Hmm. That actually soudns appealing. I could ask Ahrimon to compel him with her bite. If he survived it that is. It’s been an option all along, but I have been hesitant to use it because demons kill their mates more often than not when trying to mark them. The blood lust is unreal and hard for them to control themselves. Like a vampire, but a hundred times worse. Our eyes lock on our target and we make a beeline for her, not caring who is in our way. We toss werewolves and pups around like they are rag dolls and their cries of anguish fill us with pleasure down to our bones. Ahrimon was made for chaos and destruction and she shivers in pure bliss at the upheaval we are causing
“I am so nervous! I can’t believe this day is finally here!” I exclaim and marvel at the beautiful dress my best friend, Janae, picked out for me. “You look absolutely stunning!” she says and smooths down the sides of my dress. I squeal and do a little happy dance. “Oh, this is really happening!” Janae sighs and turns me around to face her. “I hope you know what you are doing. All those things you have told me about Warrick in the past.... I just hope this isn’t some revenge plot or something to get you and your family back for killing his mate.” I scoff and knock her hand off my shoulder, “Nobody killed her. She is still alive and being held prisoner as we speak.” She raises an eyebrow and gives me “the look”. “What?” I ask her. “Does Warrick know she is being held prisoner right now?” she asks. “I... I don’t think so.” I tell her. My confidence starting wain. “You sure about that?” she asks. “Look. Even if he does know, he doesn’t care about her anymore. She chose that Greg guy ov
--Vanessa-- As I watch Warrick drive away the reality of becoming his Luna sets in and I can’t help the wide smile that spreads across my face. Finally, I am going to take my rightful place by his side. Daddy will be so proud of me for not ever giving up even after Warrick kicked me out of his apartment. I have been told my whole life that I would be Luna of the Blood Moon Pack and our pups would be the key to changing the world so that werewolves and demons would take our rightful place as masters of this world and those who have driven us into the shadows will suffer the consequences! The angels’ and humans’ time on this earth are numbered. No more Miss Perfect Angel, with her stupid perfect skin and hair, and her strange blue eyes, standing in my way. She must be the daughter of one of the Archangels to have even survived what my dad did to her. I can’t believe Selene would pair a werewolf, angel hybrid with a werewolf demon hybrid. What kind of sick joke was she playing when she
I pull my Camaro off the side of the road and stare at the entrance to my pack's territory. I haven’t been back here in so long. The thought of what I am about to do turns my stomach and I come close to turning my car around. “Hey, Warrick, is that you?” my father’s Beta calls to me from the gate entrance. “Yeah, it’s me. How’ve you been, Beta Gedeon?” I ask. He walks to the edge of the entrance and squints over at me for a moment before answering. “I’ve been good. What brings you back here? I didn’t know you were coming,” he asks. I clear my throat and take my time answering, “I’m here to see Vanessa. I heard she was staying here while our dads were away.” Gedeon gives me a long look and sighs, “Yeah, she’s here. That girl is bat shit crazy.” I couldn’t agree more, but I have a part to play. I am out of my car and in his face before he can blink and wrap my hand around his throat. “Don’t you ever disrespect my future Luna like that again,” I growl in his face. Gedeon’s eyes go wid
Over these past few weeks, I have been busy. I got word to Divina’s father and gave him all the details. We’ve been in constant contact making plans. Greg and Aria are an integral part of these plans. I hate having to rely on him again, but no one can know that Divina and I have had contact, so when we do formulate an escape plan, I can’t be there. The Angel settlements know the danger coming their way and have joined together unlike anything I have ever seen. From what Greg has shared with me, they were a peaceful people and didn’t know how to fight and had just been relying on staying hidden this whole time. I find that hard to believe because I have been helping to train the men, they have sent to the Timberwolf Pack, and they are vicious fighters and have learned very quickly. More than once, they have mentioned Divina’s fighting skills and how she would take on multiple men at once and it was like she was dancing through and around them. One man spoke how fighting should be so vio
