“What is this place?!” I asked in awe. My mom stared at me for a long moment and finally answered me with her lips pressed in a thin line, “Your Grandpa calls it the Pack House.”
Huh, that is a weird name for his house. “Is this Grandpa’s house? Why does he call it the Pack House?”
“Yes, this is Grandpa’s house, but his close…. Umm business partners and their families live here too.” My mom was speaking slowly and carefully.
“Umm, that’s weird. I have never heard of someone living with their business partners. Is that even normal?!”
Before mom could answer, a bear of a man stepped out of the cabin and stood on the huge wrap around porch. He looked like a lumber jack with a red and black plaid flannel shirt with the sleeves rolled up exposing his muscular forearms. He had long lean legs covered in dark blue jeans and brown hiking boots on his enormous feet. Seriously, what was in the water here?!
“Rima, who is that?” I whispered. Without looking at me all the while, glaring at the man before us, mom unbuckled her seat belt and started to open her door. “That’s your Grandpa.”
“That’s Grandpa?! How old is he? He barely looks older than you?” What the hell is going on here.
He was easily 6’ 3” and extremely intimidating with his stoic face and crossed arms over his chest. I couldn’t tell if he was happy to see us. He looked, sad? Was that the emotion I was getting from him? Why would he be sad? No, it was regret. I was feeling his regret, but I had no idea why. What happened between him and my mom all those years ago?

Grandpa Adrian just nodded at my mom, letting his arms fall to his side and headed for the door. I guess that was our cue to follow him inside. I did my absolute best to not let my jaw hit the floor when we walked through the front door.
I had never experienced this level of luxury in my life. While our home in Oklahoma was not bad, it was simpler, and nothing compared to the rustic luxury that was before me now.
I puffed my cheeks out before exhaling as I took in the scene before me. Everything was hard wood with beautiful rugs that had both a modern and a rustic feel at the same time. It was weird, but it worked. The colors were a mix of slate gray and blues with black accents. It was gorgeous. Even the hard wood had subtle hint of blue in them here and there.
Grandpa Adrian led us through the foyer and into a sitting room. He abruptly stepped toward mom and gave her a hug. She stiffened at the contact and didn’t hug him back. It didn’t seem to faze him as he said, “It’s good to have you home, Rimmy, we’ve missed you.”
Dad used to call mom, that. Hearing it now, hurt my heart.
Mom stayed quiet and soon his attention fell on me. He took a step back and looked at me closely. He smiled broadly and scooped me into a bear hug. “You look just like your mother except your gorgeous blue eyes and light blonde hair. Those came form your father.”
He pulled back to stare into my eyes as if he was looking for something. I had no idea what, but for some reason, I hoped that whatever he was looking for, he found it.
Grandpa Adrian smiled broadly, and said, “I think you will fit right in here.”
Mom cut in then, and asked if we could be shown to our rooms. We were both exhausted from all the driving and I could use a nice hot soak in the tub.
Despite Grandpa Adrian being huge and intimidating, I found that I really liked him and couldn’t wait to get to know the bear of a man. Grandpa nodded his head and a young girl stepped forward and offer3d to show us to our rooms. She brought us up to the 3rd floor to the west wing of the cabin.
It was set up like an apartment with 2 bedrooms, a sitting space, and a small kitchenette. Both bedrooms were large with their own bathrooms and walk in closets.
“My name is Gina. If you need anything just hit the buzzer in the kitchenette, and myself or another Omega will come to assist you.” She then bowed her head and left. I stared after her and mouthed the work o-m-e-g-a with wide eyes. Why did she call herself an omega? Like Alpha and Omega? I was so confused! I looked to my mom for answers, but she was already walking to her room. Right. Well, I guess I better check out my room too.
---
My room was gorgeous! My bed was huge and soft, and I could sleep on it forever!
The bed spread was a deep turquoise blue, my favorite color, and the walls were a light gray. It was like someone crawled into my head to pull out all my favorite things and put it into decorating this room. I went to the walk-in closet expecting to see a bunch of empty racks and shelves, but I was wrong. Holy shit! This closet was full of clothes and they were all my size and style. Pinch me because I must be dreaming! Ouch! Nope, I was wide awake.
I grabbed some underwear, a bra, and some comfy clothes and headed to the bathroom.
The bathroom was the most gorgeous thing I had ever seen. It had light grey and white tiles with turquois stone accents here and there and the bath was a large claw foot tub. There was a separate shower that looked like it was big enough for 3 people.
I opened the cabinets to get a couple towels and realized the bathroom was fully stocked with my favorite things as well. There was even makeup in my colors, but I had never used such an expensive brand.
Wow. I couldn’t believe that this was my life now.
I soaked in the tub until my water started to get cold and then hurriedly washed my hair and body. I dried off with an oversized turquois towel, and quickly got dressed in a pair of black leggings and an oversized gray hoodie that said, “Not All Who Wander Are Lost.” I loved clothes with inspirational quotes on them! Once I was dressed, I pulled my towel off and hung it up on a hook in the bathroom and quickly French braid to the side so it fell over my shoulder and let some of the shorter strands in the front fall loose. Once my hair was decent, I found some cute gray flats in the walk-in closet and threw those on before heading out to the main part of the house. It was getting close to dinner time and the smell of roasted chicken cooking had my mouth watering. I was just about to step off the last step to the first floor when I heard a group of teenagers coming through the front door. I froze
Gloria pulled me up to the island in the kitchen and plopped down on a bar stool. She grabbed an apple and took a bite of it and chewed thoughtfully. Bren, Brandon, and Greg walked in and the boys also swiped an apple, taking huge bites. “So, if this isn’t Grandpa Adrian’s house then who’s house is it?” I asked quietly. Bren spoke up quickly shooting a glare at Gloria telling her to keep her mouth shut. It’s our Dad’s house, Zane. He is your mom’s brother so, I guess that makes us cousins.” She offered a small smile. Her eyes looked sad as she looked at me. “What about your mom, what’s her name?” I asked softly. I was afraid their mom was a topic that was off limits, but to my relief, Bren smiled widely and said, “Oh, you’ll meet her and Dad soon. They have been traveling for a bit so Grandpa and Grandma have been filling in and making sure things are running smoothly.” “Where’s Grandma?”
Grandpa Adrian cleared his throat and took a drink of his water. “Divina, how much do you know about the supernatural?” “Umm, do you mean like sci-fi or fantasy novels?” I asked confused. “No, I mean real life?” he said. I looked at Grandpa Adrian and then at every person at the table. Most were just watching me carefully, like I might bolt from the room, but Gloria was beside herself. She squealed and grabbed her hair kicking her feet on the ground. “I can’t take it anymore! Divina, you come from a long line of werewolves, your Grandpa and Grandma are werewolves, your mom’s a werewolf, your dad, well he was human, but the rest of us are all werewolves!” She puffed out her cheeks and let out a long breath. "Ow! Bren, that hurt!" Bren had kicked Gloria in the shin under the table and was glaring at her. I stared at her and then burst out laughing hysterically. “Oh, you had
I didn’t sleep well the night before. I know I acted like I took the news that my whole family and myself are werewolves in stride, but once I was by myself, I started freaking out. My whole life I thought I was just your average human girl that was taller than most of the girls in my school and freakishly strong, so I was treated like one of the boys. A knock on my door pulls me out of my thoughts. “Come in!” I say and Bren peeks her head in. “Hey, you’re awake,” she says softly. “Yeah, I just woke up. What’s up?” Bren runs and jumps on my bed making my body bounce up. “Holy crap! I wasn’t expecting that!” Bren giggles and says, “Get dressed! We are going out today.” “Umm. Where are we going?” I ask nervously. “Gloria and I are taking you shopping. I peeked at the clothes that the Omegas were putting in your closet and I can’t let you s
--Warrick-- I can’t believe I let my dad talk me into taking Vanessa shopping. He has been pushing for me to date her for a couple years and had hopes that she would be my mate. Thank the goddess when she turned 19 and shifted for the first time, she did not end up being my mate. She is pretty, I guess, but I can’t stand her nasally voice and shallow personality. I tried to get my best friend, Damien, to come with us, but he gave me some lame excuse not to come. Asshole. I was bored out of my mind sitting in that damn lingerie store and left to come sit in the food court. I DID NOT want Vanessa to come out of the dressing room again to show me the matching panty and bra set she insisted that she needed. You would think that a store like that would have my attention, but not when I had to go there with her. Goddess she was pathetic trying to seduce me by trying lingerie on for me. I just wasn’t in to her lik
I really am a bad friend. With everything going on I forgot all about facetiming Tia. I hadn’t even looked at my phone once since we got here. Normally, Tia would have been the first person I would have called to rant over the revelations of my life and gush about Warrick, but my mom and grandparents told me that I could not tell a human, not even my best friend, so I had resisted the urge to call her that first night because I knew she would be able to tell something was wrong. Then Gloria and Bren have filled my days and I totally forgot about Tia. Yup, I am a bad friend. I dig my phone out of my purse and my guilt builds in my chest ten-fold. Tia’s texts get more and more worried as I scan through them and I see that I have several missed calls from her. I send her a quick text: So, sorry! I am a horrible friend. Got caught up in the craziness here and starting school. I toss my phone back in my bag and groan. &nbs
I head to the office to pick up my schedule and get my locker number. Gloria and Bren are waiting for me when I step out, and Gloria snatches my schedule from my hands. “Ooh! We all have several classes together. Looks like the only one we don’t have together is History and you have that one with Greg so at least you will always have someone you know in class with you.” That’s lucky. I have a feeling this year would be tough if I didn’t have my new friends with me. My locker isn’t right next to Bren and Gloria’s, but it isn’t too far from theirs. I put my back pack in my locker and as I go to shut it, I feel someone’s eyes on me. I put the combination lock through the holes in the handle and spin the dial, then walk over to where Bren and Gloria are waiting for me. I have an inkling of who’s eyes I feel boring into me and can’t bring myself to look at him. I am already a nervous wreck
--Warrick-- Shit. Why the hell did Vanessa decide to target, Divina? As far as I could tell, Divina, hadn’t done anything to her. If she tells her dad that I got in her face, I won’t hear the end of it from my dad. Vanessa’s dad is the Alpha of the Blue Moon pack and our dads are best friends which, is why they were hoping that we were mates. I have always just tolerated Vanessa for the sake of my dad, but the last few years she has become possessive of me. It doesn’t help that we have had a casual sexual relationship since we were 17. Well, casual for me, I am beginning to think it isn’t so causal for her even though I set those ground rules the first time she came on to me. I don’t like to sleep around, and she was familiar and not a bad lay, but it was never anything more than casual sex for me. Plus, no other she-wolves really ever approach me, and I am beginning to wonder if it is more because of Vanessa and not my don’t give
--Warrick-- “I have a surprise for you,” I tell Divina and she looks up at me, her brow creasing slightly in confusion. “What, surprise?” she asks and looks around the front yard. Her eyes land on Greg standing on the porch by Aria and a huge grin spreads across his face and he waggles his eyebrows. Divina snorts at his antics and looks back at me. “Why is he acting like a goofball?” she asks, warily. Her eyes are wide, and she looks more innocent and beautiful than I have ever seen her. No makeup, the freckles that lightly dust her cheeks and nose on display for me to see, and her hair is starting to come loose from her hastily thrown back hair. I take her natural beauty in and am more determined to show her we could work. Ember and Milly come running around the corner of the house, shrieking in delight as one of the older pups chase them across the lawn. Divina’s face lights up as she watches Ember, and I can see the mother she will someday be, and I am more than ready to start
Greg watches as Warrick ushers Aria and Liam inside and I can hear the distant laughter of Ember and Milly as they run across the back yard, playing tag. When the door closes, he focuses his attention on me and studies my face for a long moment before taking my hand and tugging me along. I don’t ask him where we are going, content to just walk silently beside him enjoying the warmth of him. We walk and walk for a good ten minutes before Greg stops suddenly and turns to me. “Tell me what’s bothering you, Angel,” he says and watches me intently. I groan and drop my head into my hands. “Where do I even start!” I wail and then everything tumbles out of me. “I’ve been asleep for three freaking years, Greg! I lost three years of your life, the rest of my family’s life, Bren, Brandon, Gloria, Damien, Ember.” My voice cracks at the end when I say Ember’s name. “Hey, it’s okay. Shhh,” Greg says, and pulls me into his arms and presses my head to his chest. I don’t fight him. I need the comfort o
---Warrick--- It has been a week since Divina woke up, but we have barely gotten any time alone. As soon as the word got out that she was awake just about everyone she knows, and loves converged on us. Ember has barely left her side and is afraid that Divina will go back to sleep and not wake up again no matter how many times we assure her that won’t happen. I moved us back into the pack house and we are currently sitting on the porch swing with Divina tucked up under my arm and her head resting on my shoulder. My fingers lightly grazing up and down her arm as I relish in her closeness. She lets out a content sigh and snuggles in closer. Little Ember is nestled in my lap with her feet draped onto Divina. She is always touching her now. Always. (After it was clear that Divina wasn’t going to wake up anytime soon, I drug myself away from her and made the long trip to the Timberwolf Pack and brought Ember home with me. I knew Divina would not want her left there and I have grown to lo
---Divina--- Oh, God, my head throbs and I am too hot. Way too hot. Why does it feel like I am pressed against a furnace? I try to move, but a weight is pressing down on my chest and my arms are not wanting to cooperate. What the hell is tickling my nose? I blink my eyes open only to slam them shut as white-hot light pours into my eyes from the window. I groan and turn my head to the side trying to get away from whatever is tickling me and that damned bright light. I feel something shift and move on my chest. It feels like little hands and feet scrambling to a sitting position. “Are you awake?” a little whisper sounds close to my ear causing me to flinch. When I try to speak my voice is hoarse and my throat is dry. “Yes?” I say and it comes out as a question. I blink my eyes and stare into beautiful green eyes, with an angelic freckled face that is framed by flaming red curls. “Ember? What are you doing here and when did you get so big?” I ask. Ember’s eyes grow soft, and she gives
It is complete chaos as the crowd tries to get out of my way. I could care less about any of them. My only thought is to get that angel bitch and then make Warrick pay when I am done with her. I wonder if I should kill him too, or just make him watch as I snuff out her life and then force him to be my slave mate. Hmm. That actually soudns appealing. I could ask Ahrimon to compel him with her bite. If he survived it that is. It’s been an option all along, but I have been hesitant to use it because demons kill their mates more often than not when trying to mark them. The blood lust is unreal and hard for them to control themselves. Like a vampire, but a hundred times worse. Our eyes lock on our target and we make a beeline for her, not caring who is in our way. We toss werewolves and pups around like they are rag dolls and their cries of anguish fill us with pleasure down to our bones. Ahrimon was made for chaos and destruction and she shivers in pure bliss at the upheaval we are causing
“I am so nervous! I can’t believe this day is finally here!” I exclaim and marvel at the beautiful dress my best friend, Janae, picked out for me. “You look absolutely stunning!” she says and smooths down the sides of my dress. I squeal and do a little happy dance. “Oh, this is really happening!” Janae sighs and turns me around to face her. “I hope you know what you are doing. All those things you have told me about Warrick in the past.... I just hope this isn’t some revenge plot or something to get you and your family back for killing his mate.” I scoff and knock her hand off my shoulder, “Nobody killed her. She is still alive and being held prisoner as we speak.” She raises an eyebrow and gives me “the look”. “What?” I ask her. “Does Warrick know she is being held prisoner right now?” she asks. “I... I don’t think so.” I tell her. My confidence starting wain. “You sure about that?” she asks. “Look. Even if he does know, he doesn’t care about her anymore. She chose that Greg guy ov
--Vanessa-- As I watch Warrick drive away the reality of becoming his Luna sets in and I can’t help the wide smile that spreads across my face. Finally, I am going to take my rightful place by his side. Daddy will be so proud of me for not ever giving up even after Warrick kicked me out of his apartment. I have been told my whole life that I would be Luna of the Blood Moon Pack and our pups would be the key to changing the world so that werewolves and demons would take our rightful place as masters of this world and those who have driven us into the shadows will suffer the consequences! The angels’ and humans’ time on this earth are numbered. No more Miss Perfect Angel, with her stupid perfect skin and hair, and her strange blue eyes, standing in my way. She must be the daughter of one of the Archangels to have even survived what my dad did to her. I can’t believe Selene would pair a werewolf, angel hybrid with a werewolf demon hybrid. What kind of sick joke was she playing when she
I pull my Camaro off the side of the road and stare at the entrance to my pack's territory. I haven’t been back here in so long. The thought of what I am about to do turns my stomach and I come close to turning my car around. “Hey, Warrick, is that you?” my father’s Beta calls to me from the gate entrance. “Yeah, it’s me. How’ve you been, Beta Gedeon?” I ask. He walks to the edge of the entrance and squints over at me for a moment before answering. “I’ve been good. What brings you back here? I didn’t know you were coming,” he asks. I clear my throat and take my time answering, “I’m here to see Vanessa. I heard she was staying here while our dads were away.” Gedeon gives me a long look and sighs, “Yeah, she’s here. That girl is bat shit crazy.” I couldn’t agree more, but I have a part to play. I am out of my car and in his face before he can blink and wrap my hand around his throat. “Don’t you ever disrespect my future Luna like that again,” I growl in his face. Gedeon’s eyes go wid
Over these past few weeks, I have been busy. I got word to Divina’s father and gave him all the details. We’ve been in constant contact making plans. Greg and Aria are an integral part of these plans. I hate having to rely on him again, but no one can know that Divina and I have had contact, so when we do formulate an escape plan, I can’t be there. The Angel settlements know the danger coming their way and have joined together unlike anything I have ever seen. From what Greg has shared with me, they were a peaceful people and didn’t know how to fight and had just been relying on staying hidden this whole time. I find that hard to believe because I have been helping to train the men, they have sent to the Timberwolf Pack, and they are vicious fighters and have learned very quickly. More than once, they have mentioned Divina’s fighting skills and how she would take on multiple men at once and it was like she was dancing through and around them. One man spoke how fighting should be so vio
