Liam was glaring at me from across the table. Since he came in he hasn't said a word to me. Just went straight to the cabinet and grabbed himself a bottle of wine, poured it into a glass, and was sipping slowly, his eyes never leaving me.

“What?” I grumbled, eyeing him. “If you have something to say to me, go ahead and say it. You don't need to glare.”

“Why are you doing this to Emma?” He dropped his glass to ask. “You know she's innocent.”

“For all we know, she isn't. She betrayed me with the witches. I nearly lost my life.”

“She didn't! Why don't you want to believe her? I thought you loved her.”

“That was until I found out she was hiding something from me. Something that would have cost me my life.”

“She did it to protect you. If you ask me, she doesn't deserve the treatment you are giving her.”

“Well,” I shrugged nonchalantly. “Thank goddess I didn't ask for your opinion.”

“I'm still your Beta. I would like to believe I have a day in how you treat your second half.”
