Bingo!

The surprised look on his face was exactly what I wanted to see.

I looked between the food and I and I smiled even wider.

“Let me make you a plate,” I said softly and when he didn't respond, I proceeded to putting the finest dishes on his plate.

He looked at me intently and his eyes burned holes on my forehead but I kept the smile on my face and continued what I was doing.

“There,” I said when I was done.

I had never seen him dumbfounded as he was right now and if laughing out loud wasn't going to ruin my acting, I would have laughed right in his face.

With the same feminine energy, I plated my own food with as much poise and he was yet to raise a fork.

“Eat,” I told him but he never took his eyes off me, making my insides melt.

I took the first bite of food first and he followed after.

I watched his reaction as he ate the food.

The steak was a bit salty and too tender and for a second, I feared the onslaught of words that would follow.
