After lunch, Luca showed me around the pack house, and we met with his parents for afternoon tea in their beautiful home. I felt so completely out of place that I kept wondering when the dream was going to end. I had heard so many stories about their pack.

They almost seemed mythical. They were legendary. The only pack that was able to change from being primordial to being able to shift at will in about a century. I had never met a primordial. To be honest, they scared me.

They were the examples my parents used to scare me when I was little and didn’t want to listen. I was fully convinced I could turn into one of them until I finally turned fourteen and met my wolf. I didn’t want to shift only on the full moon.
